"Breakfast is ready Odetta." Isabella says and I feel someone beside me. I struggle to open my eyes to start my fucking day. I slept so late yesterday because I was busy thinking of that stupid Alpha Casper. What kind of man threatens his guest? I finally open my eyes to see a sleeping Javier beside me. He must have crawled into bed in the early hours of the morning.

I smile and lightly shake him awake. "Javier wake up, It's time for breakfast."

He groans and rolls over, "Nooo."

I pull him to me and tickle him awake, "Okay, okay I'll wake up.", He says in between fit of giggles. I release him and he quickly slides off the bed, "Wait for me so we can go down together." He tells me and runs out of the room.

"I love how you are with him. He always seems so happy when you're around." Isabella says with a smile and I blush. She laughs and leaves the room. I enter the toilet and wash my face before changing into a cute, cream sundress and footwear. I comb out my hair and braid it to a fish tail, putting a small flower pin at the end. For makeup, I just dab on lipstick and put my phone in a small purse.

I wait for Javier a bit but he doesn't come down so i decide to check up on him.

"Can I come in?" I ask as I knock on his door.

"Come in." I hear his muffled voice from behind the door. I walk in to see him in boxers and struggling with his shirt. It seems like his head is trying to fit through the arm holes.

"A little help please." I stifle a laugh.

I drop my purse in his bed and walk over to him, "I'm going to see both my grandparents today. Do you want to come with?"

His head pokes through the head hole in T-shirt after my much needed assistance, "Of course I would. I can't wait." He exclaims and prances round the room while i go through his closet to pick out a bottom and footwear to match. The T-shirt is a hideous green and I can imagine Alpha Casper buying it. Seems like his taste.

When I finally get him ready for the day, we leave his room and head to the dinning room where everyone else is already seated. A wide variety of breakfast selection are laid out on the table. I sit opposite Sebastian and Javier sits beside me. I get a plate of eggs, toast and bacon paired with a glass of orange juice. Javier get a Nutella sandwich and oatmeal.

"How cool are your grandparents?"

"I don't know." I shrug.

"On a scale of one to a million, how cool would you say they are?"

I laugh, "Maybe a billion."

"A billion? That's bigger than a million, right Izzy?" He turns wide-eyed to Isabella who nods with a smile. He looks back at me. "Woah."

"How many grandparents do you have? I only have one."

"Four."

His eyes widen again, "you can have four?" He asks with a mouth full of oatmeal.

"Javier, swallow." Isabella says the same time I laugh and nod, saying: "yes you can—now swallow" He does as we say and I wipe his mouth with a napkin.

"You'll come along won't you Sebastian?"

"You say that like i was going to let you go alone."

"How was your first night here?" Victor asks, leaning forward with a glint in his eyes.

Last night's event flashes through my mind and I shake my head to rid it lest, i het angry. How dare he threaten me. I glare at Alpha Casper who's just walking into the dining room as if on cue. "It was—eventful." I tell victor.

"Morning alpha", Victor and Isabella say.

"Morning", he grunts and takes a seat at the head of the table. He sits and rubs his face before breathing out deeply.

"Morning Daddy."

He smiles at him, "A good morning to you too, little man." He says and starts plating his breakfast.

"You look rough today. Are you okay?" I decide to annoy him but he just glares at me and doesn't answer.

I just keep on eating not bothering to look up at him. He starts to eat as everyone tries keep the conversation going on the table with Sebastian and I just chiming in if necessary and of course Alpha Casper just sits there eating.

"Let's go, let's go, let's go.", Javier says as he finishes his breakfast and pushes his chair back. I stand after him and Sebastian follows suite.

"Wait, where the heck are you going you with my son?"

Javier looks alpha Casper with a huge smile, "Daddy, we're going to see ody's grandparents. She has Four. Can you believe that?" He puts a lot of emphasis on the 'four' like it's a one in a million number of grandparents.

"And I wasn't informed."

"We just decided on it this morning. I'm not going to kidnap your son."

"I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that you could've informed me before making that kind of decision"

"Like i said, It was a this morning kind of decision."

"Daddy can we go?"

"No"

Javier pouts. "But dad!"

"Today is father and son day." He says, "So we'll spend the day together. Maybe next time."

"Don't worry Javier, we'll see my grandparents when your father is not being a baby." I crouch down beside Javier and say.

"Odetta." He growls out in warning and I just roll my eyes. He really just gets on my nerves.

Javier's face falls but then he cheers up, "Okay, at least dad is fun."

"I highly doubt that but have fun." I kiss his forehead and look at Alpha Casper, "But can I at least have a car?"

"No."

This man is testing my patience.

"Doesn't the stick that's lodged up your was hurt?" I sigh.

"How about you take my car." Victor says with amusement and tosses his keys. I catch them and look at him unsurely.

"Are you sure?"

He grins and spares a glance at a scowling Alpha Casper. "I'm trying to prevents murder here so just run along."

I smile at him and give Alpha Casper a smug smile. "Jeremiglio please would show Odetta the way to the garage and my car"

"Right away Beta." A young boy says and waits for Sebastian and I by the door. "Thanks again victor, I promise that your car will come back to you in one piece. Have a nice day everyone."

Sebastian and I follow the young boy and soon enough we enter the garage filled with a lot of cars. "That over there is beta Victor's car." He says after he leads us to a black bwm.

"Thank you." I tell him but he just nods and scurries away.

"Your sister, Miss Quinn was right." Sebastian chuckles once we pass the security guards who let us go under Victor's instruction.

"Right about what?"

"Alpha Casper has something for you."

"Not again. I assure you that it's not what you think." I groan as I drive looking at various landmarks trying to remember the way to my grandparents place. The robotic female voice on the GPS is long forgotten.

"Maybe it's not like or love but you two definitely have something."

I scoff, "I don't know what kind of world you all live in but Casper and I can't stand each other, we definitely don't have a 'connection'."

"I'm serious."

"So am I."

The GPS tells me to turn right on a turn i almost miss. I swerve abruptly and hit the curb. Sebastian swears.

"Just think about it."

"As far as I'm concerned, I don't like Alpha Casper, he doesn't like me too and that's final."

"Can't wait for the day I say 'I told you so'."

"You'll be waiting till you're gray and wrinkly."

"I might be gray and wrinkly but it's going to happen nonetheless." He says.

"Let's talk about something else. Like how this is your first time in the capital."

We converse as I show him famous places in the capital as we drive. After twenty, long minutes of wrong turns and a near-accident, my fault, I go through the gates of my grandparents household.

Don and Luna are my mother's parents who insist that we call them by their names and Dad's parents Tom and Alice like it when we call them grandpa and grandma.

I see the their house sitting side to side. I park the car in the driveway of Don and Luna's house and step out with Sebastian. I look at the two houses and decide to go up the steps to Don and Luna's. I knock on the door but there's no answer.

"Let's try the next house." I mutter and go down the steps.

"Who is it?" I hear grandma's voice behind the door after I knock.

"It's Odetta." I shout and I don't hear anything for a while before the door is flung open and I am engulfed by the smell of cookies.

I pull away from the hug to see Luna and grandma both dressed in matching pink aprons dusted with flour. Don and Grandpa appear behind them and push their way through to hug me.

"Oh my word, You've grown into such a beautiful young woman." Grandma exclaims.

"I mean look at those busts." Luna marvels and I blush.

Don hugs me, "my beautiful granddaughter is here. Gosh, It feels like your mother is standing right in front of me."

"She looks so much like her mother, not a trace of Ben in her." The corner of grandpa's eyes crinkle with his smile and he looks behind me. "Where's everyone else?"

"They're still back at the pack. I'm just here for a visit."

"And who are you staying with." I almost frown at grandpa's question.

"I'm a guest of Alpha Casper."

Mary's ears perk as she pushes past me to drink in Sebastian. "Alpha Casper? Mate?", She nudges me with her elbow and winks at me. "You picked the best Alpha in the capital."

None of my grandparents ever found out about mason. I didn't want them to know and to be honest, they might've killed him. I didn't want any more pity or more people seeing me at my worst. Depressed and broken.

"No, nothing of that sort. I promise."

"If not him, then this dashing young man? Is that why you've come to visit? To show us your mate." She says with a toothy grin at Sebastian.

"No." Sebastian says but Luna is already pulling him into the house.

"He's just a friend."

"A very handsome friend if I do say so myself."

"Luna." Don says but there's no heat to his words. Luna just giggles and rolls her eyes at him. "You're my mate you imbecile no one will look as sexy as you do. Especially to me."

Keeping in mind that they are old—not that old but over sixty years old, I try to block any inappropriate mental image my mind can conjure.

"What's your name young man?"

"Sebastian Miss."

"Miss." Grandma treats him to a coy smile. "And just call me Luna."

"So why are you here in the capital. Does it have to fo with the Alpha of the North."

"For the last time. Alpha Casper and I have nothing going on." I groan. "I'm actually here for someone else."

"Another beau?" Grandma exclaims, "You're a sly fox." She elbows Mary, "Told you she'll be a player like us."

Faye is actually the player of the family but I just keep shut and smile at my grandmas getting along. I spend the whole day watching my grandmothers fawn over Sebastian, playing card games with my grandfathers and stuffing my face with cookies. By the time we make it back to alpha Casper's house, it's already late in the p.m.

The first place I go to is Javier's room after I part ways with Sebastian. "Javi I'm back." I say as I enter the room. The image in front of me is shocking. Alpha Casper and Javier were in front of the t.v playing video games and he is laughing—Alpha Casper is actually laughing. Something so deep and low and rich. I could actually be interested if he wasn't so—himself but his moment of happiness doesn't last long and his smile drops when he sees me.

If it was someone else, i might have actually felt bad but a certain part of me derives pleasure in destroying the little happiness Alpha Casper has.

"Ody you have to come play with us." Javier says and drags me over to the front of the T.v. He flops down between alpha Casper and I and hands me the controller. I look it like it's a foreign object because I hardly ever play video games. The last time mist have been with Noel, years ago.

"Don't tell me you can't play video games.", Alpha Casper says with a satisfied smirk. I mirror his smirk and look at him.

"I can and I'll show you by beating you at the next game."

More famous last words have been spoken.
