"What the hell did he do to you?" Quinn mutters as she touches my cheek and I wince at the contact.

Alpha Casper pushes past me and glances at Javier on the floor before pouncing on mason.

"You—dirty—bastard." Hee says with each punch. Meanwhile Noel is inspecting my face. When he touches the back of my head and feels blood, he goes mad.

He pushes alpha Casper out of the way and start beating mason up, a crack echoes through out the room.

"When I'm done with you, your nose won't be the only thing broken."

"How dare you touch my sister and hurt someone's child." He continues.

"Stop, please stop them. They'll kill mason."

"Noel calm down." Faye says and pulls him back. He refuses to move back and alpha Casper joins him.

Faye leaves the room to get Alia, mum and dad. I go over to Javier and pick him up. I put him on my lap and check if he's still breathing. I wince in pain and I feel dizzier than before but I still manage to hold onto Javier.

"Are you okay?" Alpha Casper asks as he takes Javier from me.

I try to nod but darkness consumes me.

When I wake up, I groan as sunlight hits my eyes. I turn away from the window and see Javier sleeping beside me and I begin to think that last night was a dream but a quick pain at the back of my head tells me otherwise.

I sit up and touch the back of my head but it's bandaged. I look around the room and notice that I had no bedside lamp at all. Javier stirs in his sleep as I leave the comfort of the bed to look in mirror.

"That fucking–" I hiss and touch my swollen cheek. I looked like shit.

"You're awake." Alpha Casper says as he enters my room.

"I didn't notice."

"You're difficult you know, no need to get smart with me. How do you feel?"

"How does it look like?" I scoff.

He ignores my tone and goes to Javier to press his palm against his forehead.

"Did he get hurt?"

"No, he just bruised his back but the ointment I put on made it better."

"I'm so sorry, Alpha Casper. I promised to keep him safe and I failed."

He doesn't say anything, he just continues looking down at Javier.

"Why'd you leave him here—with me? I thought you hated me."

"He insisted. His plan was to stay awake till you woke up and surprise you."

I chuckled and smiled.

"What happened to mason?"

His face darkened. "Your father sent him and Alexa packing last night and sent a report to the werewolf elder council. They'll punish him as they see fit."

"Did he tell you how he got in?"

"The balcony." He nods in the direction of the glass double doors.

I turn around and look at the balcony doors, "I never use them, they are always locked."

"He picked it."

I just nod and purse my lips. I look at alpha Casper "I'm really sorry that I put your son through that."

He just nods, "It wasn't your fault and what happened was beyond your control. It's okay."

"The SAG ends today doesn't it?"

"Yes, You should rest. I'll bring Javier here to stay the night. I'm sure he'd like that."

I look at javier and he's sleeping peacefully. My heart squeezes at the thought of him leaving tomorrow.

"You can visit you know?"

"You live in the werewolf capital. That's a long way from home."

"It's just six hours away. Javier will like it."

"I'll think about it." I mutter and nod.

"He'll miss you." He says and leaves the room.

I pick out a pair of matching white sweatpants and sweatshirt. I carefully remove the bandaid around my head before having a long, hot, relaxing shower. I brush my teeth before drying my body and changing into my clothes.

Javier is sitting on the bed with his eyes half-open and a messy hair.

"Morning ody." He mutters as I lightly run a brush through my hair and put the wrap the bandaid around my head.

"A good morning to you too." I turn around and smile at him. His green eyes scan my face and I climb into bed next to him.

He touches my cheek, "does it it hurt?" He whispers.

"Not at all." I lie.

"And your head? You didn't wake up for a long time. I was scared."

"I'm sorry he scared you okay? And to be honest, It doesn't hurt as much. I bet it'll get better tomorrow."

It's going to take longer for me since my wolf might as well be AWOL. I don't have the benefits of fast healing but No one needs to know that.

"Promise?"

I smile, "I promise."

"Is your back okay?"

"It hurt before but now I feel better." He continues, " who was that man?"

I hesitate before answering, "Just someone who isn't worth anything."

"Is that the person who made you cry the first time I say you?"

I nod, "you're a smart boy."

"Did he hurt you that time?"

"Physically—no but emotionally—yes."

"I'm just going to pretend that I know what you mean." He says as he snuggles against me.

My last day with javier is perfect and I end up going to the ball even though everyone insisted on bed rest. I just want to have fun before I leave. During the ball and I met the famous Isabella. A funny blonde with brown eyes who obviously cherishes Javier and her mate, beta Victor, a dark haired tall man with dark eyes and seems to be friendlier than Alpha Casper—but obviously everyone is friendlier than alpha Casper.

It's eleven p.m when I retire to my room and I start packing. I pack everything except my toiletries and the outfit that I leave with tomorrow.

I'm zipping up my second suitcases when I hear a knock on my door.

"Come in." I say and haul the suitcase to the floor. I already know who it is.

"I was really hoping that you wouldn't leave." Noel says.

I turn around, "I have to go back to home but I promise I will call." I say and hug him.

"This is also your home isn't it?"

I let out a deep sigh, "Yes but i feel better there. I promise to keep in touch this time."

He moves to hug me. Big, strong arms wrapping around me. Assuring me that I'm safe.

He pulls back, "You can always come back here, Anytime. Plus, I'm spending the night with you."

"You're having a sleep over without me? Hell No" Faye barges into my room.

"Odetta is leaving tomorrow."

Faye fakes a gasp, "I stayed by your bedside day and night during your deadly cramps and you leave? The audacity."

"I did most of the work." Noel pipes in.

"Please, we all shared the labour equally." Faye says.

"I'm going to tell Quinn about it, Is Midnight okay?"

I nod.

"What are we going to watch?" Faye asks.

"I got a bunch of marvel movies so we'll decide later" He says and they leave.

We end up settling for iron man, guardian of the galaxy 2 and infinity war. A marvel movie marathon. I'm going to be so fucking tired tomorrow.

I wake up to knocking and I sit for while before stretching and cracking my neck. I didn't know i fell asleep. I was sitting on the one seat sofa while Alia and noel were curled up together and Faye and Quinn were on my bed. The end credits of the movie we were watching were rolling on the screen.

"Odetta are you in there?"

"I am—I'm coming." I mutter and go to the door.

"What do you want Alpha Casper?" I asked confused. It should be late into the night.

He clears his throat and looks into my room, "I'd like to talk to you if you don't mind."

"Is Javi okay?" I panic but he shakes his head and holds up a hand. "He's okay. Nothings wrong."

I let out a breath of relief.

"I want you to come back to the werewolf capital with me."
