Just so you guys know, we're still in Scott's 8th grade year talking about how his relationship with Eliot. I'll tell you guys when it's back to the present when Scott's talking to Jimmy in his bedroom. Okay? Okay. Enjoy!

Scott's Perspective-

"Well, what about the cheer team?" Pearl suggested.

I thought for a second before shrugging.

"Yeah, okay."

Anthony almost choked on his water.

"Cheer?!" He asked.

"Well, why not?" I asked and he shrugged.

"It's just...no guys do cheer."

"So? If it gets me out of P.E, I'm doing it." I said.

"Do you know if it's too late to try out?" I then asked and Pearl shook her head.

"No, I just saw the sign-up sheet the other day. They need more people for it. I think the tryout is on Wednesday. Have you ever done gymnastics?"

I nodded and Pearl smiled.

"You should do fine then. Just tell your parents about it and go to tryouts!"

I smiled nervously and we then changed the subject, but I wasn't paying attention.

If I didn't make the team, then I would have to P.E, and just the thought of that scared me.

Wednesday-

I nervously walked out to the tryouts and the coach sat me down on the bleachers.

"What's your name?" She asked me.

"Scott. Scott Major." I said and she nodded, checking off my name on the list.

"I'm glad to see another boy trying out." She smiled at me, "Eliot's been getting a bit lonely out there."

I smiled nervously and she then clapped her hands, grabbing everyone's attention.

"Alright everyone! Let's get started, shall we? First, we have Yara Aaron!"

I watched a girl stepped up, looking nervous.

Her friends clapped and cheered her on and she looked confident.

She then took a deep breath and started on the dance routine we had to perform.

-

"Scott Major! Your turn!" The coach called me up.

I jumped and nervously walked up there.

I made eye contact with Eliot who smiled and winked at me.

I blushed and took a deep breath before jumping into a backflip.

Even after practicing the routine for hours, it seemed it was the first time I was ever doing it.

I messed up a bit and felt like a nervous wreck, but at the end, the coach and a couple of other kids clapped, including Eliot.

Coach finished calling everyone up and said then told us who made the team.

"Yara Aaron, nice job!" She said and the girl who went first smiled and squealed with her friends.

Coach continued down the list and then said,
"Last but not least, Scott Major!" She smiled at me, and I felt my face heat up as Eliot clapped and whistled for me.

I changed out of the uniform for the cheer team and started walking out of the school to the car loop.

"Hey, Scott, right?" Eliot asked, catching up to me.

"Er- yeah!" I said nervously.

He smiled, "You were really good out there. I'm glad to not be the only boy on the team!"

"Oh, thanks! I was really nervous though."

"It's always nerve racking your first time, but you're a natural. You looked really cute as well."

I blushed at that compliment as we walked out to the loop of cars.

"Welp, there's my mom, I'll see you around Scott." Eliot said.

He then winked at me before walking to his mother's car.

I felt my face heat up and I walked to my father's car, getting in.

All I could think about that night was Eliot.

Time Skip >:)

As the weeks went by, so did the dance lessons.

I was getting better and better and closer and closer with Eliot.

Soon, my feelings for him took over and I became a stuttering mess around him.

I soon noticed that he was very flirty and charming around me and no one else, which made me feel like he might like me back.

"And I don't know, I really think we could be something." I told Pearl and Anthony.

Anthony shrugged, "I think you should do it."

Pearl hummed, "I don't know, Scott. I've heard some stuff about him from the girls in my band class."

"Really? Like what?" I asked, tilting my head.

"Like..." Pearl sighed, "Like him being rude and abusive."

I blinked, "But...he's not. He's far from that. He's really kind and sweet and- "

"This is coming from a girl who dated him last year."

I froze.

Pearl looked at me, concerned and then said,
"I just want you to be careful, Scott. That's all I'm saying."

I nodded and then smiled up at her, "Well, people change Pearl."

She smiled weakly and I then changed the subject to the new dance routine I had to learn and practice later today with the rest of the team.

-

"Alright everyone! Nice job today! You're getting along nicely!" Coach said, dismissing us.

I changed out of my dance outfit and back into my regular clothes and started walking out of school.

"Scott! Wait up!" Eliot shouted, catching up with me.

I giggled as he acted out of breath.

"Hey Eliot!" I smiled, blushing a bit.

"Hey Scott! I had something I wanted to ask you." He said and my heart fluttered.

"Yeah? What's that?" I asked and Eliot blushed.

"Well," He said, looking a bit embarrassed, "I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me."
