*4 weeks later*
A few days after the broadcast, the military arrived. Like they had promised the infected population had been killed and humanity were beggining to put it all behind them and start to rebuild life. The lines were up and I got a call from my grand parents saying my parents had died, there was nothing for me in Stoke anymore. So i decided to stay with Dan and Phil. They welcomed me with open arms.

I was excited for today because we could finally go outside, even Dan was excited. I think being cooped up in the house for weeks finally changed my perspective on the outside world. We all got ready and walked out into the spring morning, birds were churping happily, and it was almost as if the apocolypse hadnt happened (except for the occasional abandoned car and debry scattered around the streets)
We walked to a park and sat on a bench under a massive tree, the pink-ish leaves were falling around us as the wind blew.
"Rae?" Phil said, making me turn towards him.
"ye?" I chirped happily, then I looked at his nervouse face and my smile faded "whats up?"
"I was... um... wondering" he hesitated "will you be my girlfriend?" his nevousness of this question made him even more adorable. I smiled, and not just me but my heart smiled too.
"of course" and we kissed, more passionatly then ever before.
Everything seemed like it was going to work out fine, until a man in suit holding a device came up to us. The guys were standing under the tree and the man walked to them, going to Dan first.
"look into this" the man instructed, Dan did as he said and then he went to the others. Each time the machine chirped and he marked their hands.
"look into this" he instructed me
"whats it for?" trust me to be the only person to ask. For a split second he looked shocked, then irritated, before his emotions went back to neutral.
"just a routine check, to see if you're infected" my throat felt tight, and a lump came into my throat. All I could think of is the bite, I could almost hear the taunting from it, everything was perfect, and now it would all be destroyed. I dont know what they'd do to me once they found out I was infected, maybe kill me? treat me like I'm not human?
it felt like hours had passed, but it had only been a few seconds. I swallowed, a little too loudly, and cleared my throat
"ok" I stared into the piece of technology, I felt the guys stares boar into me. The machine beeped loudly, what the hell did that mean? would they let me say goodbye to Phil or just drag me away?
The man stared at the machine "no result" he thrust it at me again "look into it again" I did as instructed, my heart beat getting louder and louder until I was sure it was audible to everyone around me. It beeped again, differently this time.
"clear" he said, I was ready to argue to him that I wasnt infected but the words he said finally seeped into my brain, I stared at him in shock "hand?" I held it out, still in my state of shock, and he put an X on it. Soon after they cleared the park, no one spoke, I think everyone was shocked.
"I dont know how you did it" Phil started
"but you eviscerated the disease!" Dan ended
"I cant believe this..." I smiled "Im not infected, I must of fought it off"
"I was so worried about you" All the guys said in unison and hugged me

I was happy, I'd forgotten what the feeling was. yes, I know my parents are no more but I'm sure they'd be happy for me. I defeated a disease that had killed so many, and in the process found the boy of my dreams. I went to sleep that night in the arms of my boyfriend, feeling so safe and secure.

"good morning beautiful" Phil said as I looked up at his face, the morning light came through fully now since the boards had been stripped down. I was so vibrant with happiness. We kissed again, softly, all of our worries gone.
