First Person POV
September 4th, 2019

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. Of course, me being a lazy human being, I managed to shut the alarm off after about five tries of me struggling to press the snooze button. I let out a small groan, as it was the first day of my junior year.

I immediately jump out of bed. It was the first day of my junior year!

"Crap crap crap!" I mutter to myself, trying not to trip over the school stuff I had laying on the floor.

I did pack my bag the night before, it's just that I have my actual school bag, cross country bag, my gym bag (I guess I could've put my gym stuff with my cross country stuff, but oh well), and my bag with my flute inside of it, as well as all of my sheet music and book. You could say that I am messily organized.

I quickly open my phone and go to the weather app. It was supposed to be 52 out, which is pretty cold for me (I hate cold weather, so I get cold pretty easily.) I then closed my phone and quickly walked towards my closet.

I quickly get dress, deciding on a baggy 'Summerville High' golden sweatshirt with cobalt blue stitching for the letters. My pants are skinny jeans, and the shirt I wear underneath is golden yellow with black stripes. In the middle of the shirt shows the crest of the Hogwarts house Hufflepuff.

I stuff my cross country bag into my gym bag, that way it'll be easier to carry out to my car. I grab my other bags and bring them downstairs.

When I walk into the kitchen, it was pure madness. My little sister, Katie, was standing on top of the counter, trying to reach the captain crunch. My little brother, Keith, was telling (shouldn't say telling, more like yelling) and Katie to get down otherwise she'll split her chin open.

I place my bags down by the door and went to go help Katie. My parents are usually at work by this time, which was around 7:00, so I had to help my siblings get ready, mostly Katie.

I wrap my arms around her waist and take her off of the counter. I then grab the captain crunch box and set it on the island. Katie quickly went to go grab her favorite bowl, which was a small, plastic bowl that had a picture of Blue from Blues Clues.

"Thanks Claire!" My sister squeaked excitedly as she struggled to get onto the stool. I smiled as I poured some cereal into the bowl "You're welcome, Katie." I then turned around to grab the milk from the fridge.

"Hey Claire? Do you have to work tonight?" Keith asked, his green eyes looking into mine as I poured milk into Katie's bowl.

"I'll have to check my schedule, but I think I work at 7," I told him "You should be able to hang out with your friends, since mom and dad will be home by then."

"M'kay." He said, stuffing his mouth full of captain crunch before putting his bowl in the sink. "When will we be leaving?"

"Around 7:30, that way we can be at school early. You have your schedule, right?" I asked.

"Yep. It's in my binder." He answered, quickly running upstairs to grab his backpack.

"Okay." I say, mostly to myself. I then turn to Katie, who was struggling to get off of the stool. I watched her for a bit before she finally got off and put her bowl in the sink.

"Are you ready to go Katie?" I asked.

"Yeppers! All I have to do is brush my teeth!" She said before running into the bathroom to do so.

I nod and grab my phone from my pocket to check on my notifications while I wait for my siblings. My phones lights up in my hand, as someone just texted me.

Lynnie: Hey, when do you think you'll be at school?

Claire Bear: Hopefully around 7:45, why?

Linnie: Okay. I wanted to tell you that my dad is letting me see what he is working on in his lab, and he told me that you can come with if you want 😊

Claire Bear: That's awesome! Can't wait! What time? Would it be during my shift?

Linnie: Yeah, but Dad said that it'll be alright. He'll count it towards your internship.

Claire Bear: Okay, sounds good! Should I meet you there after cross country practice?

Linnie: Yeah. I'll be in the lobby. See you at school ❤️

I smiled as I turned my phone off and put it back in my pocket. When I looked up, my siblings were coming down the stairs with their bags.

"You guys ready?" I asked, opening the door before grabbing my bags.

"Yep!" They both said in unison, but Keith lacked the enthusiasm.

I ushered them out the door and locked it. I then proceeded to my car and opened the drivers door. Keith sat up front while Katie sat in the back seat in her car seat. I quickly opened the trunk and threw my bags in the trunk. I closed the trunk and got into the car to drive. I did a quick check on everyone's seatbelt was buckled before beginning to back out of the driveway.

This took me about 3 hours. I don't really have any idea where this book is going, but I guess we are gonna have to see 😂
