2-Back From The Dead

*?????? POV*

It was cold, everything was cold of course but underneath my body was a very cold surface, like ice. It was sticky too, very sticky, but with what I can't recall. I attempted to move my body but all I got in return was a twitch, albeit a faint one. My fingers bended and flexed followed by my hands and arms. Slowly I was able to get a response and with a little struggle I forced my body to free itself from the sticky ground and sit upwards.

Success, however, nothing was visibly in front of me despite my opened eyes. I tried to squint but nothing formulated, even after trying as hard as I could. I huffed and rubbed my arms together, rough and jagged as something old was caked to them. After this discovery of course I began to peel off whatever it was that was sticking to me. I removed it in pieces until both arms were picked clean. Curious as to what this substance was, I brought it up to my mouth and gave it a lick, only to freeze in momentary confusion.

Blood...it was my blood.

Blood...delicious...but unsatisfactory.

I knew right then I needed blood, as a dry feeling crept up my throat, eliciting a groan. I rubbed my throat before moving to stand, growling as tattered clothes ripped in places. I pushed through the stiff pain and rose to my feet, feeling wind billow around me, still unaware of my surroundings. Maybe if I focused I could at least detect chakra in the air and use it to guide me.

I brought my hands up to my chest and held them together in a sign, focusing all my energy into seeing my surroundings through Chakra. I knew subconsciously I could easily detect Chakra due to my bloodline however much was escaping my memory at the moment.

"Where am i?" I spoke with an unused raspy voice, like grinding stones.

"Where indeed." A deep voice spoke, making me flinch and raise my arms in a defensive display to the right of me where the voice originated. "I'm shocked to see you alive, didn't know Kabuto's work could follow through so easily, however, he doesn't need to know it was a success."

"Who are you stranger?" I demanded.

"You can't recognize me?" The male voice sounded amused and intrigued.

"I can't see..." I lowly admitted.

"That's because you don't have any eyes, idiot. Do you remember nothing of what happened?" The voice asked again, sounding closer.

"No eyes..." I mumbled as confusion took me over, feeling an odd tickle in the back of my mind.

"I know where you can find more, better eyes than the ones you had before." The man then spoke up.

"Where?" I immediately asked.

"There is a man in the Hidden Leaf Village. He has what you seek. He won't give them up easily however. You'll need help getting some from him in your current state." The male informed.

"Than you shall help me." I demanded instantly.

"Im afraid I can't. Not for the time being. There is someone else I'm grooming and guiding. In this village you shall seek out a boy by the name of Naruto Uzumaki. He will help grant you eyes." The man spoke the familiar name making me pause.

Blonde hair....blue eyes...whisker scars...

.....

Jinchuriki...

"The Nine Tails Boy." I spoke my thoughts aloud.

"You remember him?" The man asked, walking closer ever so slowly.

"...." I remained frozen as memories of seeing him distressed, and upset filled my head.

He was with some older man, young, and Sasuke was there-

It was like the wind escaped me as reality came crashing into my head, making me stumble away from the now familiar sounding male. I grabbed my head in shock and collapsed onto my knees.

"Sasuke. Is he okay?" I whispered shakily.

"Yes, he's fine. You're alive and it seems your memory's come back to you. You know what it is I need from you. You are tasked with bringing in that boy. And Danzo's arm...they have the eyes of our brothers and sisters. Naruto Uzumaki will help you I'm sure of it. Just keep your face hidden, here." Madara spoke to me and I heard a whooshing sound, as if he extended something my way.

I reached forward and felt the edge of a mask in his hands. I grasped it and didn't hesitate in putting it on over my face, feeling the front to find there wasn't any space for eyes to see out of. With that in mind I opened my eyelids and relaxed the muscles. I then tilted my head as the thought of needing blood resurfaced.

"What did Kabuto do to me? Why am I...craving blood?" I demanded in a calmer tone, folding my arms.

"Ah...yes. You were very dead and Kabuto had an experiment to test out and since you were at our disposal we went for it. A special reanimation type ritual. We were able to tether your soul to your body through a blood sacrifice, there were other steps of course but Kabuto kept that to himself. You are reanimated, however you will find yourself colder, physically stronger and much quicker than before, and your teeth are different. In order to maintain this form you must drink blood." Madara explained.

"Blood...?" I mumbled out.

"You can't eat food anymore, it won't digest properly and it will make you very sick. Human blood will suffice. Naruto could even be your personal donor for all I care." Madara chuckled softly.

"Does it have to be his specifically?" I questioned in curiosity.

"Not really, but due to his special friend, his blood will be near irresistible to you. You may find yourself salivating to the mere smell of him. Your senses work very different now as well. Oh, and the sun is fairly toxic to your body...its midnight, so when the sun starts to rise, I'd suggest an inn somewhere." Madara spoke, his footsteps echoing off of stone. "If you must travel or do anything during the day, cover your skin, wear a hat and mask, gloves, long sleeves, you get the gist."

"Hmn..." I hummed as thoughts rolled about my brain.

Sasuke was alive and okay. He probably has my eyes... which isn't something that particularly bothers me. He earned those. I'm not mad at him. If anything, I'm proud of how far he's come in life. I hope he chooses a better path than revenge and makes peace with himself. Until we meet again, I'm afraid I have a path of my own to walk. Maybe our paths will cross one day and we can catch up as equals.

Until then, Naruto Uzumaki remains my target. He could end up my prey as well, or so I'm told. If I'm really that different then I should take the time to get used to my body's new functions. Despite not having eyes I can sense everything around me. I can tell where the ground is, where each crack in the surface was, Madara's posture, expression, and emotion almost. I can sense the forest around us, the animals and bugs, everything. It was like I was still able to see, just in a different way I suppose.

"I'll make my way there. Any updates on their security?" I gave my answer finally after a moment.

"Heh, well the security is very high and agitated at the moment." Madara gave a soft chuckle. "I wouldn't recommend an Akatsuki attire. We've become quite popular. You have a bag set up for you against that stone over there about twenty feet from you to the left. A set of clothes, a cloak and a had is waiting for you. They've grown fairly familiar with our attire. Especially since one of us recently turned that village into a pile of rubble."

"A pile of what?" I demanded, feeling shock rocket through my body.

"Pein, he destroyed the village with one justu. The rinnegan's power is formidable when used to its maximum potential. He made a crater out of that place and soon after Zetsu informed me that Naruto Uzumaki defeated him, all of his copies and the original."

"I see...I should leave soon then." I mumbled to myself as a weird weight settled in my stomach.

"Yes you should, Itachi." Madara spoke in a serious tone. Before his figure warped out of reality in a spiral, leaving me alone.

I gave a huff and began to change out of my clothes and into my new attire. I couldn't see the color or determine the type of fabric, but it felt plain and simple enough to me. Nothing was embroidered into it so it was most likely a plain cloak. The pants and shirt were simple as well, long sleeves, a weapon pouch to replace my tattered one, and a belt.

Basic.

I finished dawning my new outfit and made my way off of the crumpled roof of the building I was on top of, tiredly rubbing my throat as a burning dryness overtook it. No matter how many times I swallowed and moved my tongue around it felt like a desert. Something that apparently needs to be handled soon. I wonder how long I can go before weakness takes me, something I need to test out eventually. Until then however, I must focus on the task I have been assigned by Madara.

Naruto...Uzumaki.

"Naruto Uzumaki." I spoke aloud. "Defeated all of Pein and his copies. Naruto Uzumaki." I spoke his name over and over as I remembered his face, his looks, tasting the name on my tongue.

I'm normally not one to obsess, but the name felt good rolling from my lips. So easy to say, so close to be obtained. I knew the layout of the lands around the Hidden Leaf, so sneaking to him should be a piece of cake. Security will be my only obstacle...

Danzo...

"I'll have my revenge...Danzo." I growled angrily. "I'll kill you, give you a scar for every Uchiha you made me kill, I promise." I swore as a boiling hot rage flooded through my veins. "For my parents. And for my brother as well."

With the newfound will power coursing through me, I made my way along a road as the forest around me grew denser and denser, sensing the area around me using the chakra in the air, finding my own way through my newfound way of seeing. Odd as it was, I could see everything almost clearly, and sense lifeforms nearby. Mostly just plants and animals, birds and bugs, but I can faintly smell humans...however it's difficult to tell how far away they are.

This is interesting indeed.

I made my way through the denser woods and into a more clearer area, where a small villiage was. It wasn't anything huge like the leaf, but it was a decent size. I could hear a bustle of people from around me, tall buildings for apartments, restaurants and homes. A market was out, lively despite the time of day. From where the moon was I'd say it was around four in the morning. Odd how I could tell where the moon was. Like it's own entity in the sky.

I moved along, moving past and around people, trying to keep to myself mostly as I found a nearby inn. Many people were here and asleep with someone in the front so I could only assume. I made my way inside and I was greeted with the warmth of a fire from a nearby chimney. I ghosted towards the front table, and reached into my bag after feeling for it, ans snooped around until I felt money waiting to be spent.

"Hello stranger! Just one room? For how long?" The woman asked, smiling at me.

I can't tell what color her hair was, or her expression, but somehow I could tell she was smiling by the sound of her voice and vibe I felt coming off of her.

"Just one room. Until the evening. I've been traveling all night. I need to rest up for my journey to continue." I spoke. My voice semi muffled due to the mask I wore.

"Uhm...funny mask you have there. How can you see?" The female asked as I heard her hand swipe the money from the desk.

"I can't see. My face is disfigured and I'd appreciate it if you didn't ask me about it any longer." I spoke and rubbed the mask, smirking at my own cleverness.

"M-My bad! I'm so sorry I didn't mean to push your buttons. I'm too curious for my own good sometimes. Here...the key." She frantically gushed.

Her hand touched mine, and opened my fingers and placed the key in it. She then moved from around the desk and walked to a hallway and paused.

"I'll show you to your room and help you get settled. I-If that's okay." She stuttered out.

I hummed in response. "Very kind of you girl. Thanks." I inclined my head before following after her.

She led me down the entire hallway and turned down another one. She moved heel heavy down the way in order for me to hear her clearly, something that amused me more than made me feel thankful. I continued behind her until she stopped in front of a door and gave it a solid knock with her fingers.

"This is it!" She cheerfully announced.

"Thank you, girl." I spoke with another incline of my head, and felt my way to the knob, before unlocking the door with the key, opening the door in front of me and continuing inside, hearing her follow me.

"It's the least I can do. The world's been crazy lately...not many folk are is kind to others as they should be." The woman spoke as she moved in front of my place and patted a bed. "This over here is the bed, and the nightstand. The bathroom over here." She spoke and moved to another door and opened it. "The curtains in this room is thicker so the sun should peak in too much- U-UH I mean...uhm...sorry..."She nervously fumbled.

"Hnhnhn, don't feel so bad. I forget sometimes too. It's a recent thing." I chuckled I amusement and set my travel bag down. "That's all, thank you. I'll retire for the night."

"Y-yeah, okay. Rest well sir!" She woman chimed before taking her exit and shutting the door behind her.

I moved to the door and locked both the door lock and deadbolt before making my way to the bed, sitting myself down. I removed my straw hat and mask, setting them down on the nightstand beside the bed. I removed my cloak and tossed It aside before laying down, getting comfortable in the fresh smelling linens.

"Clean." I commented to myself, rubbing the fabric. "Well sewn..."

Naruto Uzumaki.

Naruto Uzumaki

"Naruto Uzumaki..." I whispered to nothing, listening to the way my voice cracked.

I need blood soon...not from him. His blood will be taken at a time I have his trust. At a time when I gain my new eyes from that foul bastard Danzo. I can finally put someone's eyes to good use instead of wasting away on an old dying man like him. I guess I could find a stranger to suck the life from, I wonder how much I could drink before I'm full. How deep my fangs could peirce someone.

I reached up and prodded at them, curiously tracing them, feeling the sharpness cut my finger like warm butter to a knife. Oh yes, they were fairly sharp, like a newly forged Kunai sharpened and eager for battle.

I wonder if they're poisonous...

I felt the top of my mouth, feeling for any venom sacs like one a snake would possess but I felt no such thing. Seems my biting people won't poison them afterall. I felt around my other teeth for a moment before removing my fingers from my mouth, getting comfortable in the bed I laid in.

Letting a dreams swallow me....

Deeper...

deeper...

Deeper...

I was standing alone, in a plains field filled with tall grass brushing against my stomach. There was no one around, no sound at all. The sky was red and the moon was a reflection of my eye, peering down on a specific spot somewhere out of sight. I was drawn to it...and began walking.

I continued...moving through the rustling grass, feeling something wet and sticky, like mud, cake itself onto my sandals. I waded through the grass as I suddenly found myself struggling to move this way, as if my torso were submerged in a current river. The grass blew against me in the wind, keeping me from reaching it fast enough.

Clangs-clashes-fighting-shouting-iron smell- adrenaline-more shouting-screams-pain- dry- betrayal-anxiousness-heartbreak-fear.

Sasuke.

Sasuke was too, in the grassy plans, surrounding by faceless people, unable to stop his blade from piercing their bodies. Unable to fight back against his power. His sword and body were covered in their blood, his face twisted into a sick look of thrill, joy, and lust. A lust for power, a lust for blood, a lust for a burning hot vengeance.

The faceless suddenly turned into those I recognize. Anbu, ninja, Jinchuriki, innocents, mothers, children, animals, everyone. He cut them down with no hesitation, he sliced them apart with no regard for their feelings or stories, he only wanted more...more...more...

I reached out to him, but I was suddenly running my blade through my parents, both of them staring up at me with hopelessness, disappointment and pain. I stared back at them, blinked, and the grass turned to a river of blood.

I stumbled in alarm, only to run into someone, before gasping in pain as the feeling of being penatrated by a blade overtook my gut. I looked down, and then behind me to find my eyes staring back at me.

My eyes....

Sasuke's eyes...

"Look at what you've done, brother. You've created a monster who will never know peace again. I only find it in the instant someone dies by my blade. It only lasts for a second before I feel the need to consume more. I'll never know satisfaction...I'll never know love, and I'll never forgive you for it." He hissed his words like poison.

"I'm sorry..."

"I know...im sorry too." He sighed before ripping the blade upwards through my body-

I woke with a flinch, my body covered in sweat. My eyelids were open but I was only greeted with the sight/sense of the floating chakra particles in the air that helped map out the room. I peered about before shaking off the feeling of tiredness and sat myself up. I could feel the position of the moon in the sky and confirmed with myself that the sun had set about fourty five minutes ago.

I got my things, dawned my mask and hat , draped my cloak around me and set off out of the room with my key in my hand. I wandered the hallway by myself, hearing more people walking past and into their own rooms, minding their own. I found the front desk to discover the same woman from the morning before. I knew it was her, because her chakra was the same.

"Good evening sir! Did you rest well?" The woman asked.

I gave a him since she couldn't see my face, and placed the key down. "Yes, I did. Thank you. You have been wonderful and I wish your business luck in these crazy times. Good day, desk woman."

"Good night to you, kind man." The woman giggled as I turned and left the building.

Judging from where I was in the forest, I was about half a night's journey from the Hidden Leaf Villiage. I have plenty of room between here and there to find someone to drink, something I'm admittedly looking forward to experience. If it quenches this dryness within my throat and the sluggishness in my body then I'll be quite delighted.

As if the world was granting me this, I could sense a drunken man, alone in an alley I was passing. I took a moment to pause and turn my head, inhaling and feeling the situation out.

There was not much traffic in this portion of town, most were retiring for the night and others put partying or drinking. He was alone entirely, and this situation of semi solitude gave me the perfect opportunity to sate myself before going on a hunt for Uzumaki and Danzo.

I turned and began my way down the alley, shivering as a sudden and violent urge to kill something surfaced. An urge so strong it ached my teeth, feeling them beg me for someone to feast upon. This drunk man shall be my first meal, ever, as an undead blood drinker.

Vampire...

I stalked towards him, watching as the older man stumbled against the alley way wall to catch his balance. He appeared to be an off duty Shinobi, wearing a hidden leaf headband on it, grumbling words to himself as he fumbled around his green vest.

"Fuckin...mah...mad worlld...dinnnnsighnup for this shiiiit." The man growled angrily.

"Hn."

"Wha-DAMN! Hey pal, where the fuck did your eyes go? How much did I drink...!?" The man yelped as he turned to me just after I removed my hat and mask, his frightened expression on me.

"They ran away." I purred as i felt my blood begin to pump, my heart rate quicken and body temperature lower, oddly enough, instead of rise.

"Catch em!" He sneered before cackling.

I looked to him, tilting my head in thought as my hunger began to reach a point to where it was clouding my mind. He went off about something random, spouting jiberish to me as he turned and began to kick something on the ground, a shattered bottle of sake. I looked to his neck and felt my body unable to contain itself any longer.

I lunged. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders as he started struggling. I then opened my mouth wide. And bit down hard. Feeling my teeth pop through his neck with ease, shivering as blood began to spray into my mouth at the fact pace of his beating heart.

"HEY! GET OFF! OW! Get off of me MONS-MMM!" He cried out when I covered his mouth with a crushing grip.

I couldn't help the shivering...it felt and tasted so good. Each gulp came with a wash of releif, satisfaction and fullness. I could feel every inch of my body come alive and my senses sharpen. I could hear my own pulse quicken, and my temperature grow colder to the point I could feel steam rising from my limbs against the hotter air.

"H-hey...im...feeling dizzy...stop" the man begged.

It was in one ear and out the other with me. Even if I wanted to, I don't think I could stop. My empty sockets remained open as I glugged down blood until he bled dry, body heavy and limp in my grasp, blood slowing to a halt as no more met my lips.

Empty...

He was empty but I was full, and felt alive and buzzing from the sensation. If regular human blood was this good I could only imagine what Naruto's tastes like. It couldn't get much better than this. This was the best thing I could have drank. The blood didn't taste like blood, or like anything I've ever eaten.

It was liquid delight.

I used their shirt to clean off my face, the blood that I couldn't lick off, and only once I was certain I'd gotten it all had I exited the empty alert way and vanished within the forest under the night sky.

Pursuing my next purpose, objective.

Naruto Uzumaki.
