So I make covers for fun usually because I don't like the stress of trying to do it for others, but I still want my covers to be put to use, so pretty much all of them become premades, which I have posted in my graphics book. I have a small payment of a 3+ line comment on the first chapter of one of my stories. I think people expect to get them for free, though. 

I had someone fill out the form (which is in the same place as  the payment) and request one. I told her that she'd been accepted and that the cover would be posted when she completed the payment. 

She then went and voted on the first chapters of two of my stories. 

Right away, I assumed that she had no intention of commenting, but I decided to give her a little time. She posted a review in her review book and replied to someone's comment. So I tagged her in my book to remind her that the price wasn't votes but a comment (you know, just in case she was honestly confused). 

When I got on the next morning, I saw that she had replied to another person's comment, but hadn't completed the payment or even bothered to respond to my comment. And she's done lots of stuff since then so it's painfully obvious that she wanted the cover but didn't really want to have to do anything to get it; she wanted to do something easy and probably figured that voting on two of my stories would make me happy. And votes are nice and all, but if someone's voting on my story simply to get something in return it means NOTHING to me. Can you even prove that you READ the story? And if you DID read the story, taking fifteen seconds to type up a short comment wouldn't be a lot to ask.

People are just so goddamn lazy. I mean, yeah, I'm about as lazy as they come, but I would never try to screw someone over like that. If you're ordering a cover, be prepared to actually do the correct fucking payment. If you're not willing to do it, don't ask for the fucking cover, you lazy ass bitch.
