Third POV

In the Northern side of the big country, of Aryavarta, there was a very well- flourished land of Hastinapur. And this land was ruled by the Kuru family.
Currently, there was an act- on- king, Bishma. He was working under Raj- Mata Satyavati, the second wife of late King Shantanu.

Inside the flourishing palace of Hastinapur, there was a big area, that was dedicated to Lord Shankar, only. A very large, Shivling had been put in there.
Right now, two people were sitting in front of that Shivling, praying with deep dedication to the God of all Gods, Mahadev.

One of them was a man in his early fifties, while the other was a young boy of mere age six. Both had their hands folded in respect and their head bowed, as they chanted the Shiv Strotman.
What was most surprising was the calm and serenity that you could find on the six- year- old's face. It didn't look that he could be so young, neither by his physical state or by his mental state.

"Bless me, Papa." The young boy of six asks his father, once he is done with his offerings. He still hadn't stopped calling him that.

"Ayushman Bhava, Putra." The older man, identified as Bishma blessed his son. "Make me proud."

"Of course, Papa." They boy, as many of you guessed Karn, smiles at his father. His smile almost blinding the old man.

"You are embarking on a very difficult and important journey, Putra. If I could, I would never let you leave but this is important for you." Bishma told his son. "You should know one thing before you go."

"What Papa?"

"Two Things, first don't lie to Guru Parshuram about anything, just be you. Second, you should know the truth about your birth." Bishma sighs.
He knew the Karn would understand, Karn was far brighter than a normal six- year- old.

"What about my birth?" Karn asks confused.

"You are not my biological son." Bishma says, a little hesitantly not knowing the six- year- old's reaction.

"And that matters because?" Karn asks, his father looking at him inquisitively.

"Won't you mind that I am your adoptive father?"

"Are my parents here?"

"No" Bishma says, unsure of where this was going.

"For me, you are the one who has been with me always, so you are my parent and I don't care who gave birth to me." Bishma instantly pulled his son into a hug, hearing what Karn said. Karn returned the hug happily.

"Papa, you don't need to worry at all. I love you. You are my parent, were my parent and always will be my parent; nobody can change that fact." Karn tells his father proudly.

"You are so smart." Bishma chides, wiping his tears.

"Don't cry Papa." Karn wraps himself like a Kola around his father. Who simply laughs, running a hand on the boy's head.

"I won't son." Bishma says, when they pull away.

"I will go meet Dadi once, then will meet you at the stairs of the royal entrance." Karn takes off, the instant his father nods.

Standing just a little far away from the room gate was Kul- Guru Kripacharya.
"Pranipatra Acharya."

"Pranipatra Karn." Acharya greets. "May you have a healthy and safe journey and life ahead."

"Than you, Acharya." Karn smiled.

"Don't disturb your Gurudeva much and remember don't cause much mischief." Gurudeva tells Karn. Who gives an innocent smile in return.

"When do I?"

"DADI!" Karn shrieks, running in to his grand- mothers room.

Raj- Mata Satyavati, hastily wipes her tears away, hiding them from her grand- son. She didn't want to upset him.

"Yes, Putra." She answers, trying to keep the shaking away.

"Dadi, where are you?" Karn asks, looking for her grand- mother in his grand- mom's room.

"What happened to my monster?" Raj- Mata Satyavati asks, walking up to where Karn was standing.

"You say like you don't know." Karn huffs.

"I will miss you." Raj- Mata Satyavati says, hugging her grand- son.

"I will miss you to, Dadi." Karn replies as he returns the hug. Trying to dissolve in his Dadi's scent.

"Don't trouble your Gurudeva much, Ok?" Raj- Mata Satyavati orders

"What are you talking about, Dadi? When do I trouble any one?" Karn asks, making an innocent face.

"Haye! My monster is acting so innocent." Raj- Mata Satyavati pulls Karn's cheeks.

"Dadi!" Karn whines. "You will break my cheeks."

"Oh Mahadev! Cheeks don't break. They rip open, you monster." Raj- Mata laughs at her grand- sons innocence.

"I am not a monster, I fight them." Karn makes a cute angry face.

"Achcha baba, you aren't a monster." Raj- Mata agrees, pulling her grand- son with her as she heads to her dressing table.

"Where are you taking me, Dadi?"

"I have to gift you something before you rush off to you Gurudeva's place" Raj- Mata replies, sitting on the stool.

Karn looks confused at his grand- mother as to what his Dadi wanted to give him. She never gave any one anything, at least Karn hadn't seen it.
Plus, if his father is adopted so is she then why? Does she love me so much?

"Dadi?" Karn asks as he looks at her looking for something in an old wooden box on her dressing table.

"Yes?" She asks as she pulls out something, that is wrapped in a red cloth.

"Do you love me even when I am not you glad- son?" Karn asks softly.

"Glad- son? Oh Monster, its grand- son." Raj- Mata says after a minute, she had to calm herself, the tears were threatening to fall.

"Yeah. Yeah." Karn agrees. "Say na?"

Raj- Mata Satyavati ignoring his question unwraps the red cloth and pulls out a bracelet. It was a leather one, and in the middle was a wheel, shaped like the one in ships.

Raj- Mata pulls Karn's right wrist ahead and ties the bracelet on his wrist. "I love you more than anyone in the world. You are my sunshine, my twinkle of eyes. It doesn't matter whether you are adopted or not."

She kisses the top of his head, and carcasses his face. "Ok? Never doubt it."

"Thank you for this Dadi."

"There is no need for Thank you, it is just so that you don't forget me. Remember I will always be there with you. I will never leave you."

"I love you Dadi."

"Me to baby, me too. I love you, my monster." Raj- Mata chokes out. "Now go, you Pita shree must waiting."

She almost pushes him out of the room, and turns away to hide her tears.
Karn wipes his tears and runs to the door where Bishma was waiting.

"Done with your Grand- mother?" Bishma asks, once he sees his son.

"Yes, Papa. " Karn nods smiling but his eyes betrayed him.

"Come we will walk till the Main gate." He grabs his son's hand, and together they start the short journey.

"Papa, I will miss you." Karn confesses at the gate, tears spilling out of his eyes, uncontrollably.

"Me too, Putra." Bishma kneels in front of his son. "But this is important for you further development. For you to grow more, and learn things."

"You will miss me, na?"

"Of course, I will. You are my son."

"Don't cry much and look after Dadi, ok?" Karn asks.

Bishma laughs, "Of course, my lord."
Karn to laughs at being called my lord.

Bishma hugs his Putra and kisses his head. "Go now, Putra. I will wait for your return, always."

"I will come back fast, Papa. I love you." Karn tells his dad. "Miss me, like I would. And don't cry much. Also, don't forget to look after my Dadi."

"I would never." Bishma promised it to both himself and Karn.

"Good. Bye papa." Karn says and walks away in the outer world. The world of harsh reality and truth.
While Bishma is left standing there, tears flowing like an open river.
