Third POV

The Hastinapur brothers along with Karn and Ananya were on their way to Hastinapur, where they had been called upon by Maha Mahim Bishma. To travel fast all of them were riding horses.

The Hastinapur brother were surprised when they saw Karn's horse. It was a beautiful black colored horse that had a white star kind of shaped thing on his head. The horse was instantly liked by all the brothers.

But the surprise was even more when they saw Ananya's horse. It was pale golden in color and had a lush white mane and tail. The Hastinapur brothers actually fell in love with the horse.

Normally, they would have been astonished to see a girl ride a horse this good but it was Ananya so they did not even blink an eye at it. She seemed completely at ease while riding the horse.

"You guys are so boring, just like him." Ananya whined, motioning at Karn who was laid down on the horse, beside her.

Now that was a sight that had astonished the brothers, Karn had climbed on to the horse, in opposite direction and laid back on its mane. His hand was tucked under his head, where it rested on the horse's mane. His left leg was bended to rest on the horses back, while the other was placed over his left leg.
His eyes were closed and he looked practically asleep.

"I am not boring, Annie. Just smart." Karn says, without opening his eyes. "I am asleep now, so that I can talk and interact with people later."

"What is the point? The other people also need to sleep, you can sleep then." Ananya pointed out.

"What is the harm if he is sleeping, right now?" Dushassan questions.

"Oh Dushassan! You are the only guy who cares." Karn fake cried, while the said boy blushed.

"How could you, Dushassan? You betrayed me." Ananya says dramatically placing a hand on her heart.

"It would have been better, had I not said anything." Dushassan mumbles to himself. But in the silence, they all here and laughs tumble out of their mouth.

Again, Dushassan blushes, but he pouts. "You guys are bad."

"What do you want to do, Didi?" Duryodhana questions, Ananya.

"Anything but I need to do something." Ananya says seriously.

"What if we ask questions from one another?" Sehdev suggested.

"Yeah, that will be nice." Nakul agreed as Ananya shrugged.

"Cool. I ask first." Karn perked up. "My question is to you, Yudhishthira."

When the said boy nods, Karn continues, "How do you keep up with this truth thing? Always live up to it?"

"It is quite easy for me, because I have always spoken the truth. Never will a lie tumble out of my mouth because my brain and tongue has been hard wired my to speak truth." Yudhishthira replies shrugging.

"I admire it." Ananya declared. And Karn instantly nodded in agreement.

"Bhrata Dushassan, can I ask you question, next?" Sehdev asks.

Dushassan nods, smiling lightly at the young Madri- Nandan.

"Which is the best memory you have with your brothers?" Sehdev questions.

"I will tell you the most recent one." Dushassan says smiling widely. "One was with Mitra Ashwatthama. What happened was that I am Vikarna had irritated Bhrata Duryodhana to no end that morning. So, he had gone to Mitra Ashwatthama and was full on complaining to him. Listening him for a while Mitra Ashwatthama says, 'Yeah. I think he is just as annoying.'."

He took a breath smiled at his elder brother before continuing, "Oh God! You should have seen Bhrata Suyo's expression. He was so angry. He literally screamed at Mitra Ashwatthama for a while, telling him as to how Mitra can't find us irritating or speak ill about us. But at the same time, he can. It was a sight too see."

"Aww, that is so sweet." Nakul cooed at his elder brothers.

"Exactly, my point." Dushassan says.

"I am next." Bheema declared. "Duryodhana, what is that you wish to happen the most, like if you get one wish what will you ask for?"

Duryodhana does not answer instantly and the people understand that he may need time to think but what he said, silenced them all.

"For Mata and Pita to be able to look at me." Duryodhana says softly.

"You know, Duryodhana, your parents may not be perfect but they are the most precious gift god has ever given you. Cherish them." Ananya says, lightly.
"Sometimes, kids do not get that precious gift."

Before the brothers could think much on what Ananya meant in all, Karn was sitting up on his horse, his eyes locked with the said girl.

"Don't you think they have a right to know?" Karn says.

Ananya sighs and nods. "Let's stop here for some while. What say? There is a river too."

"Of course." Some nod while others voiced their agreement.

Once they have washed their faces and hands, they sit under a shade of tree, as light wind blew over- coming the hotness of the environment.
Ananya in a minute had set food for everyone out. They silently picked the food up and begin to have it. The mood had been tense since a while now.

"You know I never had parents really, Duryodhana." Ananya says suddenly, surprising the Hastinapur brothers.
They were not expecting something so severe.

"Wh- What do ...... you mean?" Duryodhana shuttered.

"Just what I said." Ananya shrugged.

The brothers stared at her agape. How could she take it so lightly?

"When I was born, the maid exchanged her own child with Mata Devaki's. The maid wanted a daughter while she had just given birth to her ninth boy. Who also happened to be blind." Ananya tells them her story.
"The maid took me to her home and placed her son in place of me. The boy was killed and I lived."

"But my life was not easy. Mama Shree Kansa, had some suspicion on the maid who stole me, so he killed her. He thought that she was about to do something, he did not know that she had already done something." Ananya explained. "Being in a family where there ten males and one female is harsh. I learnt to cook, wash and clean at a very young age. I had to having no other option. I cooked for them and washed for them. I become the care taker of the house, but that was until at the age of eight, ..." Ananya took a deep breath hear, stopping to look at the wide eyed Hastinapur brothers in front of her.

She began again, "At the age of eight, when I ran away from the house."

"WHAT?" The Hastinapur brothers exclaimed in surprise.

They did not know that. They never expected Ananya to do something like this.

In the last few days, she had become kind of a role model for the brothers. They had been admiring her strength and were forming a belief that girls should be like her. Open minded, student of literature, art and fighting skills along with others, etc.

She had started to seem perfect to them all, they had started to look up to her.
And now to find that she ran away from her own house, dis- appointed them a little. It made them realize, may be she wasn't as perfect after all.

How was the update for day?

Duryodhana is a wonderful brother, isn't he?

Dushassan has the utmost dedication towards his brother. Admirable, don't you think?

Duryodhana must really want that his parents see him.

Ananya has a dark past it seems.

How will the brothers digest the information?
