-- Flashback --

Karn was watering the plants when suddenly he felt something amiss in the air. Something not right. He turned around to confront Ananya about it, his friend. But she wasn't there.

Before he could think much of it, he hick- upped, once. Twice. Thrice.
And he became sure that Ananya was remembering him urgently, but why?
And also, where was she?

'That stupid idiot girl.' Karn grumbled to himself. 'Never knows her limits. Gurudeva is also not here, where did she run off to?'

Suddenly, he felt disturbance in the side of mountain, where most small animals lived. There was a disturbingly wrong thing happening there, and he needed to stop it, urgently. He rushed in the direction that felt gullible, trying to calm down his fast- beating heart. The small distance felt Kilo- meters long.

Once he reached their, the sight in front of him killed him internally. He snarled a loud "No.".

What was this?
His only best friend?
How could that happen?
His only friend, that was his age?
Surely, he was seeing things, right?

He rushed towards her only to find the snake that had bitten her was glowing in a bright color. What was happening? What was this all? What is this thing?

And suddenly on the place, just beside an unconscious Ananya stood a man. He looked quite strange to be truthful. Wavy black hair, eyes that looked more like slits, even the color was eerie. His cloths were this weird green colored, a color Karn had never seen some body wear. It was all so very strange and un- nerving.
Karn stared at him unsure whether to scream bloody murderer at him or kill him in an instance.

The man hadn't noticed Karn it seemed. The man bent down and touched Ananya's forehead and a strange green liquid from her body flowed out, through the same wholes it entered.
A
nd Karn had frozen in surprise to say anything, this was all to over- whelming.

"What are you doing?" Karn asked, suddenly getting his voice back.

"Pranipatra." The man folded his hands. "Forgive me, I had no intentions of hurting her."

"But you did." Karn said angrily as he stood beside his best friend,

"I did." The man agreed, "But she will be fine. I just took the poison away from her body."

"Why?" Karn asked.
He knew he should probably pay attention to her best friend but he wanted to know what this man was to up.

"Because I was cursed." The man said. As if it explained everything.

When Karn raised an eyebrow that meant elaborate, the man continued, "It would be best if I explain when she wakes up."

Karn nodded and sat near his best friend, slowly and softly picking her head, he laid it in his lap, just like his grand mother or father used to do when he was tired or injured, not healthy.
Slowly he ran a soft hand on her face, removing the hair away and sorts of massaging her head. He always liked it, so he thought she might too.

"Karn, I know you love me, but why is my head in your lap?" Ananya asks, slowly opening her eyes, to look around at what was happening.
She would not say this aloud, but she was thankful for him being here. Especially now that she is on his lap and his body is hiding the sun, or else she feels like she would burn under the sun and it's hotness.

"Can you not joke, Anna?" Karn says exasperated.

"Mi lady, forgive me." The man kneels in front of the now the two sitting kids.
The kids exchange looks.

"Uh- ?" Ananya says confused.

"I am a minister in the snake court. I am one of the most powerful snakes, there." The man explains. "A year ago, I was cursed that I couldn't take a human form until I drink the purest blood. My human side was suppressed so I could not think as a person."

"Oh!" the kids exclaim in surprise.

"You have freed me from the curse, mi lady." The man says looking thankful at Ananya. "I am thankful to you."

"I- uh- you are welcome." Ananya says, uncomfortable.

"I would like to express my gratitude to you, mi lady." The man says. And he hisses something.
The two kids look uncertainly at one another.

And in an instance, there is something silvery in his hands. The man smiles looking down at the thing in his hands.

"Mi lady, a small gift from my side." The man raised his hands towards her.

There sitting in his hands was a silver snake, just that it wasn't moving. "This is a weapon, mi lady. It's made out of Chromium and Tungsten. Practically unbreakable. When you need it, it can increase its' length."

The man hands Ananya the snake and the snake goes alive, snaking around her arm as the kids stare in shock.

"Ah, yes. Another of its property." The man nods. "Thank you, mi lady."

Ananya nods before falling unconscious.

"Ananya!" Karn catches her.

"What happened to her?" Karn asked the man.

"The poison flowed through her veins, even if for some minutes. This is the side- effect." The man explains. "Also, she may not remember this. Once you tell something about it, the memory will be triggered."

"Ok." Karn nods in understanding as he picks his best friend up.

"Please allow me, Prince. I will take your leave." The man says and nodding Karn lets the man away. But surprised when he noticed that he was called a prince, even though he was dressed like a normal brahmin.

The man turns in to a snake and slithers away as Karn brings Ananya to the mountain, where they slept. To lay Ananya down on the bed.

-- Time Skip --

Karn has been sitting with Ananya since half a Praha and she hasn't woken up.
Is she fine? Did something happen? What should I do?

"Karn?" a voice calls and he freezes. It's his Gurudeva.

"What happened to Ananya, Putri?" He asks. Looking at her sleeping form.

"I don't know much." Karn bows his head. "But she was bit by a snake."

"WHAT?!" He thundered.

"Gurudeva, I will go deaf." Ananya moans.

"Anna!" Karn shrieks. "Are you ok? Does it hurt? Do you want something? Do you remember what happened? Why did you go there alone? Are you insane?"

'Ok! That was a stupid question, Karn. She is already insane and we knew it.' A snarky voice says in Karn's head. And Karn resists the urge to face palm.

"Shut up, Karn." Gurudeva chides and Karn instantly shuts up.

"I am fine Gurudeva." Ananya says. "I remember the snake, it bit me in place of the rabbit when I asked it."

"You asked for it?" Karn interrupts. "Are you serious?"

"No, I am funny." She answers happily. And Karn dead- pans her.

"Then the man, snake, gift...." She starts sprouting words that make no sense so, Karn take over.

"The snake was actually a cursed minister. He had to be freed by one whose blood is pure. He saved Ananya's life and then gifted her a snake that takes form of her arm, like a bracelet. And a whip, plus its size can be increased." Karn informs them both.

"This is so cool!" Ananya exclaims looking and touching her bracelet.

"I know." Karn smiles at her.

"You did a great thing, Ananya. I am proud of you." Gurudeva smiles at her.
"But next time, Let Karn be around when you do stupid things like this." Gurudeva orders.

"Yes, Gurudeva." Karn and Ananya, say in tandem.

*********

Say how was it?

So, now we know why Ananya has the whip.

She did a very stupid thing right? But do you see the the trust they have?

Even Guru deva knows that nobody can stop them from doing stupid things. So he just orders them to do stupid thing together.

Won't that be more harmful?
