Shake off the non-existence

It had been a few days since he last saw his boyfriends, due to unfortunate planning of their schedules. They'd called every night before they went to sleep if possible, and randomly texted throughout the day, but Tyler hadn't mentioned anything about how uncomfortable he was at home. He was just overreacting, he was fine. He was just at his own home. While Brendon and Josh had their things, their work, and their home. Their...

Tyler sighed and squeezed the steering wheel a few times with his fists, frustrated how everytime he was home for a few days his mental state seemed to make a full 180°. Sad, useless, worthless. It weighed on him, he hadn't been able to fix the washing machine, and now also his bedroom window got stuck and couldn't close for the last couple of inches, making it not only cold (as it always felt) but now there was this constant chilly draft too.

He tried to call the landlord several times and emailed, but there was no response so far and he just crumbled down more, together with his apartment. The only thing building his days up a tiny bit now, apart from texting or facetiming his boyfriends, was work. He liked working together with Kelsey, the place really started to feel like his place, and secretly he adored how Kelsey would always ask about Josh and Brendon, which gave him a good excuse to talk about them and forget the rest. She'd always listen, smile and be happy for him with whatever he told her.

He couldn't wait to be back at his boyfriends, their house, their warmth and their safety. He was cold, even when he wasn't sure it even was cold, but he always felt freezing. His hands squeezed in the steering wheel, slightly trembling, body shivering. It was as if he was nervous, but he wasn't sure that was it. He just felt off and wanted to be inside as soon as possible, long enough for all this to be pushed away and all he could think about was being comfortable with his two men.

He saw the front door fly open as he made it onto their driveway, and saw Josh storming towards him. He quickly got out of his car, tried to focus on Josh as he was smothered in a crushing hug. He had to chuckle, but rather wished to be inside the house quickly to be off the street, for whatever reason he still felt he wasn't there.

He hugged back, but quickly wiggled his way out of Josh's warm embrace as he smiled softly but making his way to the door. He definitely noticed the short confusion on his boyfriends face, his cold response to the hug definitely noticed. Tyler sighed internally, feeling bad already. He didn't want to confuse or worry him, especially not Josh. He had this face you just couldn't stand to disappoint, you'd feel guilty right away when his shimmering brown eyes looked your way questioning, confused or insecure.

As soon as the door closed behind them, Josh had followed him instantly, Tyler clung himself to Josh tightly. "Hi", he whispered and he wished he could just hold on into eternity, feeling much more safe. When Brendon chuckled and hugged him from behind, Tyler being the happy slice of cheese on a cheese-sandwich, safety reached its peak. All he needed was more of this.

"Are you okay?" Josh asked, still a little confused as to the earlier cold response and now this very clingy hug. "Yeah", Tyler sighed softly as he had breathed in that specific smell of not only his boyfriends, but their house as well.

"Really?" Josh asked again after they all broke apart. "Yes. Just cold." he tried to add a genuine smile. "Missed you guys."
A little suspicious Josh smiled. "I missed you too, we missed you", he responded before briefly kissing him. "Too many days." Josh mumbled after that, meaning the amount of days between now and the last time they met. "Use that damn key", Brendon chuckled, even though he was serious. Tyler blushed and shrugged softly before getting out his shoes and getting ready to immerse himself in all things good.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Brendon asked after they had dinner, while he was trying to paint Tylers nails in a deep black. Josh had excused himself as he had an online call with a client abroad, so the only way to do so was at 8pm.
"You didn't eat much, and your hands are a little shaky", Brendon explain his question.

Tyler nodded, he was okay. Now. Now he was here, it just.. took a while for him to be fully used to his surroundings again and shake off the heavy blanket of discomfort and non-existence that his apartment left on him.

"Yeah, I-... I just had too much sugary stuff and sweet drinks today at work, so i'm a little shaky and after the sugar-rush earlier i'm now so tired", he smiled apologetically. He knew Josh would've bought this excuse, knowing the drop after a sugar-rush all too well. But Brendon.. he wasn't sure. He remembered all too well how good Brendon could read people and that kinda freaked him out right now, so he quickly looked back down at his hands.

Brendon was still holding one of them, the other was flat on the table, nailpolish drying. Brendon's hands were much bigger than his own, he liked how they were big friendly giants next to his baby hands. He remembered always hating his small not-so-masculine hands, now he loved it. Made Brendon's, and also Josh's, look big and strong.

"I'm not going to pry, but i can tell there's something going on there", Brendon continued when he gently tapped between Tylers eyebrows. "You know you can always talk to us, right? Whatever you're dealing with. If you don't want to, i can't make you", he smiled softly when he put down the bottle of nailpolish as he finished the last finger. "But I hope you will", the eldest added just before gently combing his fingers through the youngest' hair.

"You worry", he added before kissing Tylers forehead softly as he had pulled the boy closer. "Stay over?" he then asked, as he set the softest trail of kisses down Tylers nose before kissing his slightly parted lips. "Please?"
Not that Tyler would've refused otherwise, but this was extra tempting and sweet and irresistible.
"Ofcourse", he answered softly in between Brendon's kisses, without a doubt.

For whatever reason Brendon's hands in his hair felt a little more desperate than normal. Or, determined. As if he wanted to make sure Tyler would know his place, and his place was there, with them and he was safe.

"Now, how long for this polish to dry?" Brendon questioned and Tyler shrugged. He had no idea how long that took and how long they've been sitting there.

"Come shower with me?" he smiled, a little mischievous. "I knew you'd stay over, wait till you see what we did to the livingroom."
Tyler frowned but couldn't hold back a chuckle seeing brendon's childlike excitement. "Can I see now?" he asked and he jumped up to get out of the kitchen and check, but Brendon swiftly blocked his path. "Nah-ah. Only if you shower with me first."
"Or else?"
"Or. Else?" Brendon repeated as if he was shocked Tyler dared to talk back at him.
"Yes. Or else what, old man?"

"Ohhhh baby baby baby, you're getting yourself into trouble", Brendon warned him with a grin on his lips, fingers holding the youngest's chin up to face him. "Hmm", Tyler hummed in an appreciative way, chuckling when Brendon started laughing.

"Can I ask something silly?"
"Anytime", Brendon nodded as he massaged the shampoo onto his own scalp, arms up, showing of those muscles that ran prettily down his sides. Tyler shifted his gaze to Brendons eyes.
"Do you and Josh still have sex when i'm not here?"
Brendon was visibly a little caught off guard with that question but ofcourse answered honestly, no hesitation.
"Yeah. Is that-."
"Yeah, yeah, totally okay, don't worry." Tyler interrupted him quickly, not a single doubt in his mind about this answer. And it really was fine.
"I just wondered if..." he thought his words over. "If that means that I would also one day maybe be with just one of you, and not both."
He shook his head for how clumsy the words came out.

Brendon frowned a tiny bit, as if he needed a second to process the question. "Ofcourse?" he asked. He seemed slightly surprised that Tyler seemed to doubt that. "Ofcourse", he repeated without any doubt. "I mean obviously the more time you'll spend here the less we'll be separated. Then also the less it'll be just Josh and I. But yeah, everyone of us is simply allowed to mess around within our little triad", he chuckled.
Tyler hummed. "So that would mean if for example you're traveling for work, Josh and I could-."
"Please, yes." Brendon answered easily as only Brendon could, with a smug grin and eyes shifting away from Tyler's eyes shortly. "Hot."

"Hm.. And also if like we have a day off and Josh has to work we.."
"Yes again."
"Okay", Tyler nodded, thinking about that. That was good. He didn't expect it to happen much? It probably would be them three mostly. And he liked that, but it was nice knowing it would be okay otherwise.

"I think it would probably only be though when one is away?"
"Hm?" Tyler asked as he observed Brendon rinsing the shampoo out of his hair and the way the foam traveled down his body. Quite mesmerizing, and he made a mental note to want to shower with Josh too once. He chuckled internally as he thought of how much hotter the shower water could be if he'd be with Josh right now. Gosh, he was so lucky. He zoned back in when Brendon continued talking.
"I mean, wouldn't it feel a bit weird if we would mess around now while Josh is sitting in the kitchen? I'm not sure. I mean it would be okay, I guess, but it would feel a little weird?"
Brendon laughed his pretty genuine laugh. "I actually hadn't thought about it like this. We should discuss it probably."
Tyler nodded as he mindlessly poked his index-finger into Brendons abdominal muscles repeatedly. He loved how simply okay it was to discuss topics like this. "Yeah i understand. I think you're right." He had to admit he wouldn't mind though if Brendon and him now... "Let's just discuss it, so we know we're all on the same page."

"Like i'm part of a fucking freakshow", Josh mumbled in annoyance. "Seriously", he continued. "Apparently its the most interesting and strangest thing ever, they keep on freaking bothering me about it. Even barely known colleagues or vague acquaintances be like 'so how does that go in the bedroom', or even worse." He shook his head. "Rude, gross curiosity."
Josh had told about the aftermath of his event they went to together. People he never even really spoke to came to question him about it. He had to admit, a few were nice. Telling him how they thought it was pretty brave to step out like that, even though it shouldn't have to be, and how they looked perfect together.

But a bunch of them, most actually, acted like little horny teenagers and gossiped behind his back or just loud enough for him to hear. It wasn't so much he really cared, screw them, but it was mostly just annoying. Fucking children. You wouldn't ask any random stranger how things worked in the bedroom in any 'regular' relationship right.

Josh pulled Tyler closer to him on the mattress they were sitting on in the living room. Tyler had chuckled when he and Brendon came back downstairs and he could finally step into the livingroom. The boys had carried down their mattress, placed it in front of the couch with the tv on, cosy lights and lots of blankets and pillows. It looked absolutely ridiculous and extremely cute at the same time. "Movie night!" Josh had exclaimed excitedly once he got back from his work-call, and noticed Brendon and Tyler on the mattress already. He quickly showered before joining his boyfriends and then cuddled up to them tired but satisfied.

"My client, who read about the event, just was amazed. He asked me if i really had a relationship with both, you know, all of us. When i confirmed, all he did was chuckle. 'Sounds fucking exhausting', was all he said. Admitting he was even tired of keeping his one girlfriend satisfied, on all terms."

Josh chuckled then, shaking his head in a slightly disbelief. Tyler just stared ahead, seeming to be lost in thoughts. He realized nobody had formed an opinion about him. Kelsey knew about them already, and in his tiny world nobody else even knew about the event and his boyfriends. He was fine with that though, he hated it when people judged without any reason to.

Suddenly Tyler felt lips smushed against his cheek. Josh's. He smiled mischievously and Tyler just waited patiently for him to speak, not fully sure what to expect yet.
"So, what did you two do in that shower? Took you long enough", he chuckled.
"Shower", Tyler answered with a same cocky smile, tilting his head sightly.
"Oh really..."
"Actually, yes", Brendon chimed in. "Really."
"We did actually talk about it though. How things work when it's just any two of us, and what's okay and what's not. Or, well, we decided we should talk about it."

And they did. They talked about it, decided for now what was okay and what wasn't, and whenever someone felt uncomfortable they should speak up honestly.
And from talking came kissing, en tonight from kissing came just more kissing and cuddling and sleeping on the mattress in the living room, the tv still playing a movie they didn't watch. And Tyler wished right then he'd never had to set a foot outside this house again.
