"Surprise", Brendon smiled big, a little chuckle following his statement. Josh peaked over his shoulder as he stood right behind his boyfriend. Both had just knocked on Tylers apartment door, who had opened it in full confusion to who the hell would knock on his door at 8 in the morning on a friday.
He didn't even really say anything, visibly very surprised by them showing up at his door at this hour. His mind rambled. He had to work at 9:30am? He told them, he was sure he had, and that he would go to them after work and-
"Is everything okay? I have to work, I-..." Tyler nearly stammered. He could only imagine there was something going on, otherwise why-
"First of all", Brendon started as he just barged in, hands shoved into his light blue distressed jeanpockets, always wearing one of his white shirts, one side loosely tucked into his jeans. "Hi baby, kiss me", he demanded as he already made his move to Tyler with a chuckle. The youngest happily obliged, after that quickly pecking a kiss on Josh's lips as well. The latter was wearing his deep blue hoodie with black worn down jeans and a black cap. Tyler loved that combination on him. Made him look soft and safe.
"Second of all", Brendon continued as Josh closed the door behind them. He didn't continue talking just made 'here i am' gesture and waited with his arms open.
Tyler chuckled at this typical Brendon behavior and he hugged his boyfriend tight. "Happy birthday Brenny", he spoke with his arms around the eldest' waist and smiling upto him. "Thank you baby", he chuckled before kissing the youngest again.
"Third and last of all", he then spoke, arms still gently holding the youngest to his chest. "No work today, it's my birthday."
Tyler slumped his shoulders softly. "Sorry, i have to work till 4pm."
"No. You don't." Josh answered with a big smile, pearly teeth on display.
"I-..."
"Surprise", Josh let himself fall onto the couch. "We got you the day off. Because it's Brendons birthday, and we're going on an adventure today."
"You got me the day off?"
"Yep. We asked Kelsey, and she was fine with it. So no worries, she knows you're not coming today."
*
"Can you believe he's that close to being 30", Tyler spoke, the last words pronounced as if it was something horrible. "I know right?" Josh chimed in. "29. Old man." Brendon just groaned semi-annoyed. Not this again. "29 and hot as fuck, you know it", he added. "Now where's my present?" he suggested.
"You didn't get presents yet?" Tyler asked, as if he didn't know Josh and him still had to give theirs. He planted himself on Brendon's lap and had his arm around the eldest shoulder.
Brendon just grinned mischievously and raised his eyebrows shortly. "Well, one.."
It took a second for Tyler to realize what he was aiming at.
"Oh, geez, already!?" He laughed.
"Nothing better than a birthday-wake-up-blowjob baby", he chuckled, ruffling his hand through Josh's hair teasingly. The latter just shrugged silently. "Wow", Tyler answered. "And that on your age. Is there any fun left for us today? Or will you just pass out? Either way, good thing about this triad is that at least Josh and I will still have some energy left to-."
"Don't you worry 'bout that", Brendon bit back but with a low voice, close to Tylers ear, making him shiver involuntarily. Brendon's hand firmly squeezed high up the boys thigh. He then patted Tyler's leg friendly. "Now go get ready, we're going out for breakfast."
*
"Babe, seriously. Look at this place. It's literally falling apart", Josh spoke softly while Tyler showered and the other two waited for him to get ready. "And its cold", he complained more as he opened the curtain in the living room window, with a lot of effort to not pull it apart.
An even colder draft came from behind the curtains, and that while it wasn't even that cold outside. How had it been here during the winter and the snow? He shivered.
"It's really bad, yeah", Brendon mumbled as he accidentally peeled off a piece of wallpaper that he was fidgeting with.
Everything here felt heavy, and for whatever reason the air was hard to breathe. It was pressuring, draining.
"I don't like knowing he's here so often, Bren", Josh spoke softly, making sure Tyler couldn't hear him even though the shower was still running. "He deserves so much more, i mean.. this can't be good for anyone. Look where he came from and where he is now. But this..."
Brendon nodded. "This place doesn't fit him and his life here at all. And on top of that-", Brendon paused shortly when the shower stopped and pretty much whispered then.
"What does he need this apartment for anyway, right? Like-"
Silence. A good couple of seconds of it, after Brendon had stopped mid-sentence, obviously realizing his own words.
Josh's face first showed a certain amount of shock, but then a unstoppable tiny smile formed on his lips as well.
"Babe. Are you saying what i think you're saying?" Josh almost tripped over his words, still in shock, but definitely so excited. He chuckled. A bit too loud maybe, and Brendon shushed him with a quiet laugh. "I mean, i don't know! I think so?" He shrugged. "But we haven't talked about it."
"Do you want him to move in?" Brendon questioned then, still whispering.
"I mean... Yes?" Josh's answer sounded like a question but only because he wasn't sure of Brendons answer. "I love you Bren, I love him. You love him. Imagine how much easier it would be, and how-."
"Comfortable", they spoke together.
"Yeah", Josh nodded softly with a smile.
"It's a big step babe", Brendon mentioned, just to have it said.
It was a big deal. For all of them in their own way. "I know... I don't even know if he wants to. If he's ready. If he's willing to give up on having his own place..." Josh wondered.
"Apart from that... are we totally committed and ready to fully give up 'just' you and me, and make it us?"
Josh hadn't even considered it like that, and let Brendon's word sink in for a second. Brendon continued to explain himself.
"I mean, I have no doubt that this is the way we're headed. And it feels right, but it will be a big change for the you and me we've been used to too. Even the you and me with Ty. Not in a bad way, but we need to think about it."
"I- I don't want there to be less... you and me, Bren", Josh shook his head, sounding a little scared at first. But with a little smile he gazed up to his boyfriend. "I want there to be even more you and me. And Ty. More us."
Brendon nodded.
"Me too."
After a little pause they continued quietly with soft smiles, and fingers laced together.
"So... Are we ready?"
"I think we are."
"Is Ty?"
"I'm ready!" Tyler exclaimed as he barged in the living room, showered and dressed. The fact he got out of the bathroom had gone unnoticed by the other two and a soft blush crept up Josh's cheeks, feeling slightly caught. That statement was so perfectly wrong timed his heart beated at least 500 times a minute.
Brendon ofcourse wasn't so easily flustered and just switched the conversation easily, pulling Josh up front he couch with him as their hands were still linked together. He squeezed his boyfriends hand softly.
"Hm you look delicious", Brendon chuckled as he lets his eyes wander over his other boyfriend. Tyler chuckled, shaking his head. "Delicious?"
Brendon nodded. "Edible. Tasty."
"Don't mind him", Josh chuckled as he had pulled himself back together and pushed Brendon out of their way and to the door. "He hasn't had breakfast yet." He chuckled. "You do look hot though. Let's go."
"You guys have low standards", Tyler joked as he let his phone slide into his pocket, keys in his hand. He was literally wearing a black hoodie, black pants and light colored vans. Nothing even remotely remarkable. He shortly gazed at Brendon's simple outfit, Josh's too, and maybe then realized it wasn't the outfits that made them stand out. It was them wearing it. Maybe... that's what they saw too.
He smiled softly as he closed his apartment door behind him as they headed out.

"So how was your birthday Brenny?" Tyler asked as he was cuddled upto him on the couch much later that day, it was about 8:30 pm now, they'd came back home about half an hour ago. The amusement park had been fun, but for Tyler anything they would've done would've been fun. He was together with them again, warm and safe and comfortable. He could breath, he wasn't shivering, wasn't doubting, was just perfect at ease.
"Very good puppy-eyes, had the best day", Brendon smiled as he gazed down to where Tyler was wrapped around his torso. Tyler looked up with a little blush. He swore he would never admit he loved it when Brendon called him that from the first second.
"Little disappointed you and Josh weren't in for a little spice in the ferris wheel, but okay, okay", he laughed, making Tyler shake while resting on his chest. The youngest just rolled his eyes to that with a grin.
"Your brain is literally always in the gutter, isn't it?" Tyler laughed.
"It's not!-"
"It is", Josh answered simply before Brendon could even finish his sentence. He just walked in from the kitchen with three mugs of steamy chai tea latte.
"Well excuse me", the eldest huffed. "Can't help that when i'm locked into a tiny little space with my two favorite, pretty, hot, damn sexy boys, my mind goes places nobody even knew existed."
"Oh believe me babe. We know."
"Here", Josh smiled as he sat down after quickly getting something out of the cupboard. Tyler sat up to give Brendon the opportunity to unwrap his gift. "From your boys", Josh added softly. It wasn't that spectacular of a gift, but Tyler had saved up some money to be able to share the costs with Josh, feeling good about actually contributing to the gift.
Brendon's eyes lit up like a little kid when he noticed the Nintendo Switch coming out of the wrapping paper. "Ahhh yes, so cool!" He laughed. "I love that!" He fully unpacked it, noticing the extra controllers with it. "Please tell me it has Mario Kart on here, its ridiculous but i've always wanted to play-... Thank you guys! Thanks!" He kissed both boys on the cheek. "We can play now? Together? Please? Please? Lets play!" Brendon rambled, clearly childishly excited with his gift and Josh and Tyler just nodded happily.
Tylers mind wandered off watching Brendon and Josh (but mostly Brendon) install the Nintendo, he couldn't help but smile softly. He let his eyes observe the room, the house, the atmosphere. Everything here felt like a warm blanket, the air was light and welcoming. He never let his mind go as far as thinking of maybe being able to stay here. Like, always come back here-
"Ty?" Josh's smooth and soft caramel voice eventually made its way through Tylers thoughts and he zoned back in. "You okay?"
Tyler smiled. "Yeah. Definitely. Sorry, was just daydreaming."
What he had missed, while he was in his head watching around him, was how his boyfriends had been watching him. And they knew it was right.
