"Do you really have to go?"

Brendon chuckled, but his face was full of sympathy. "You know I do."

"Yeah", Josh sighed.

"You'll be fine."

"I know, I know. I just... I've never been on my own for this long."

Brendon frowned, thinking about Josh's last comment.

"I lived at my parents, and if I wasn't there then I was with you. Then I moved in with you and the last years we have litterally never been apart for any longer than like 24 hours or something. I've never been on my own for 4 days, and I know it is stupid but i'm nervous."

Josh sat down on Brendon's lap as the older had finished packing and waited for the cab.

"As long as you're here, I dont need anyone else. But now you're going to be gone for a few days, it made me realize I have zero friends. Around here at least."

Brendon nodded. "Guess that's true." He wrapped his arms around Josh's waist. "You could invite Tyler over once?" Brendon suggested and Josh frowned. "Really?" Brendon chuckled. "Sure. Just as a friend obviously. Not the dirty stuff." He smirked.
Josh shook his head, "yeah, no, ofcourse not. I just didn't think you'd like that."

Brendon gently pushed Josh off of his lap as he stood up, a taxi honking outside. "It's fine babe, I trust you." He kissed Josh briefly. "If you trust yourself around him, invite him over." He grabbed his bag and headed for the door, Josh following him like a puppy. They walked up to the taxi, Brendon tossing his bag in before turning back to Josh.

"You'll be fine, babe. I'll be back friday, before you know it. That plus the fact i'm gonna call you so often you'll be done with me, okay?"
He pulled Josh in for a hug.
"I'll never be done with you", Josh whispered as he hugged his boyfriend back. With one last kiss they pulled apart.

"I'll be back soon", Brendon smiled.
"Yeah."
"Love you."
"Love you way more."

So Josh survived Monday, even though he was just bathing himself in self-pity. His behaviour was ridiculous, pathetic, but he just allowed himself to act like that because, well, there was nobody here anyway.
The whole evening he hid on the couch, eating popcorn and watching movies, until Brendon facetimed him. He was glad to hear his boyfriends voice, and see his beautiful smile, even if it was only for a few minutes.

Tuesday was a little better, Josh had to work himself so the day went by fairly quickly until he was done around 5pm.

There was no reply and he sighed, knowing very well Brendon was busy. He sighed again, deciding on texting Tyler, he really wasn't good at being alone for so long.

Hi! Do you want to come over for dinner tomorrow? Just a plain, normal dinner this time

It was only a few minutes till Tyler replied.

Josh, I appreciate you guys trying to get me friend(s) but you really don't have to pity-invite me.

Josh dropped his phone. So that was what Tyler thought of them? That they only invited him because they pitied him? Did they? Should they? Guess he just had to ask Tyler about it tomorrow.

Completely unmotivated to make himself a decent dinner he got up and made himself some eggs on a nearly burned toast, already missing Brendon's great food.
It was around 8pm when he dropped down on the couch, kitchen cleaned and not excited for another night in an empty cold bed. Just then Brendon texted back.
