“Please Virgil!” Molly whined as she yanked on his jacket. “I promise we’ll all be careful!” 

“I don’t know Molly.” Virgil said apprehensively. “I would really feel better if you would let me come with you.” 

“Why!?” Molly said dramtically, “Hunter’s dead I can hold my own against any rogue AND Xel and Zaylea will be with me.” Molly said with big puppy dog eyes, not quite as effective as Patton’s but almost just as persuasive. 

“Ugh fine!” Virgil groaned. Molly perked up and ran out of the room to tell her friends. 

“I swear she is four years old with the way she acts”, Virgil says burying his face in his hands. Roman smiles and walks over to his mate and puts a reassuring hand on Virgil’s back. 

“It’s good practice for when we have a kid.” Roman states. 

Now in the past Virgil would have balked at the idea of this, but he didn’t instead he gasped and said, “Babe are you pregnant?” 

Roman rolled his eyes and gently hit Virgil in the back of the head causing a bunch of his hair to go in his face as he laughed.

Molly ran into Xel’s room where they were practicing their base and Zaylea was practicing her cello together. 

“Guys grab some money! Virgil said we can go shopping!” Everyone in the room squealed in excitement. They all quickly got ready to go. 

They were about ready to head out the door when Virgil stopped them. “Were you even going to tell me you were leaving?” Virgil questioned. 

“Virge we can literally mind link each other. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal.” Molly said exasperated slightly. She didn’t know why but she was very hyper to get out of the house today. She needed to get out. 

“Yeah, okay just please be careful. Don’t spend too much money, be extremely careful while driving. Like super careful please. And remember to not lose your temper you aren’t great at hiding your flames when your angry so just lets not get angry okay, and…” Virgil was gonna list off a bunch of other things before a hand was set on his shoulder. He turned his head to look at Roman. 

“Easy there emo nightmare, your anxiety is showing.” Roman stated and Virgil pouted. “But seriously Molly be careful and that goes for all of you.” They all nodded before heading out. 

“Why am I being so ridiculous? They are obviously going to be fine, I just feel so worried.” Virgil said confused.

Roman smiled, “Your an official Alpha now, it’s your job to watch over your pack. Not being able to know their exact location at all times is going to be stressful. At least the first couple times. It’s your instincts in overdrive.” Roman explained. 
 
“Great.” Virgil said exasperated.

Molly, Xel and Zaylea all ran around the mall excitedly. Molly hadn’t been anywhere like this since she was thirteen. Xel and Zaylea had never even gone outside there pack borders let alone a human mall, but after hearing about it from Molly they both were so excited. They all ran around getting clothes and junk food from the food court. It was awesome. They honestly looked like a bunch of kids in a candy store. Their favorite place they decided had to be between hot topic and and this little bookshop the mall had. They all loved reading. When they were trapped with Hunter books had been their escape and now they had a huge fondness for them. Except they had such a limited option with Hunter. Here there was hundreds of books. However, hot topic had some super cute dresses and jackets and shorts and all sorts of other things they liked. They spent nearly two hours just trying on different things in that store alone.

Unfortunately, it was starting to get late and they knew that they needed to head back soon. They were on their way out to the car with a bunch of shopping bags, (They might have gone over Virgil’s budget. Whoops) when a smell had all three of their heads snapping towards the woods nearby. Xel and Zaylea started to growl, but Molly just tilted her head to the side. The smell of woodsmoke and pine hit her nose. Her eyes flashing slightly. 

From the woods emerged a boy who looked pretty rough. His black hair was a mess and his shirt was torn to near shreds. Molly didn’t mind so much that most of his shirt was gone. His eye shined bright blue. He looked frazzled and scared like he had been running away fast. 

Xel and Zaylea were about to attack him when Molly placed an arm in front of them. Her head tilted to the other side as she observed him. His eyes locked with hers, and a jolt went down her spine. This big dopey grin came to her face.

“Molly, he is on our territory when he shouldn’t be! Virgil and Roman won’t like this.” Xel said angrily. 

“Mhmm.” Molly said in a slight daze. 

“I’m mind linking them.” Zaylea stated. 

Molly was pretty much ignoring them as she walked towards the stranger. 

“Molly stop!” Xel hissed. 

The boy super speeded to Molly and the other’s gasped and went to lunge at him but stopped short. He was hugging her. He was also...crying? 

“Shh, hey, hey it's okay.” Molly said gently as she held him extremely confused. 

“They- they killed them. They're all gone!” He said miserably. 

“Who did what?” Molly asked.

“The rogues, they killed my pack. My family 's gone.” Molly felt her heart break for this boy she didn’t know. 

“MOLLY GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HIM!” Virgil rumbled as he shifted from his wolf form. He had come as fast as he could as soon as he had heard from Zaylea. 

The guy whimpered at Virgil’s angry aura, but Molly held firm to him not letting him pull away.

“No.” Molly growled. 

Virgil paused, “NO!? WHAT THE HELL YOU MEAN NO!?” 

Molly looked at the guy she was holding. He was trying desperately to stand tall against Virgil’s authority, but he couldn’t. In his defence he was doing well considering Virgil’s position and power. She smiled at his efforts. He was clearly strong in his own way.

“Calm down Virgil.” Molly said gently. “He’s okay, he’s…” She met eyes with him and smiled brighter. 

“He’s my mate.”

-Activated Protective Big Brother Mode-

“Oh hell no!” Virgil was still mad but his voice had calmed down at least a little bit. He walked over to her and pulled her off him and flung her over his shoulder much to her protest and to the males distress. He growled lowly at Virgil who shot him this look that made him clam up immediately. 

Molly was flailing angrily on Virgil's shoulder. Virgil just started walking back in the direction of the pack house. He told Xel and Zaylea to just drive themselves home, which they did. 

He allowed this person to follow him at a distance, but growled anytime he got too close. Molly had eventually given up on fighting Virgil and just used her elbow to prop her head against Virgil’s back as he walked. She watched her mate cautiously following them.

“What’s your name?” She mouthed at the boy. 

“Dane” He whispered back. “You?” 

“Molly” She said with a smile. 

“Who is he?” Dane asked. 

Virgil growled but didn’t stop them from talking. “This is Virgil, my Alpha, and my over protective cousin/basically brother.” She explained. “Don’t worry he is a big softie when he isn’t stressed.” 

“Shut up Molly.” Virgil warned. 

“You may be able to carry me against my will, but you can never silence y awesomeness!” She cried heroically. Virgil rolled his eyes. There was a small snicker from Dane that made him growl.

When they finally arrived back at the pack house they had an odd reception. 

“Oh, jeez did we get another stray?” Cassidy asked.

Patton who at this point had learned that most new people on the pack territory usually equaled a good person was giddy jumping on the balls of his feet. “Ooo new friend!” 

Roman was not too pleased to have this individual brought to his ack house, but if Virgil allowed it must be somewhat okay. Except why was Molly on his shoulder. 

“Logan, can you prepare a cell?” Virgil stated. 

Molly pushed herself up and elbowed Virgil’s head. “We are not putting my mate in a cell!” She said adamantly. 

“We know literally nothing about him!” Virgil said after plopping her on the ground in front of him. 

“You didn’t let Roman put me in a cell!” She argued.

“Yeah and look what happened because of that!” Virgil yelled, but immediately regretted it. Molly seemed to lose all the fight she had and curled up into herself. 

Dane watched Molly crumble and felt his chest tighten. He wanted nothing more than to pull her in and comfort her, but he got the feeling that this Alpha might rip his head off if he did. 

“Wait, Molly no I didn’t mean that.” Virgil said trying to fix his mistake. 

Molly gave a weak smile as she continued to hold herself, “It’s okay V, I know.” 

Virgil glanced at Dane, before sighing, “Fine no cell, but I have my eye on you.” Virgil stated. 

Molly immediately perked up as she jump tackled Dane. She felt the sparks that she had only ever heard about. The Dane smiled at the girl in his arms. At least one good thing had come from this day as he buried his face into her hair. 

Virgil watched anxiously as the two were so close. This is so fast. She literally just met this guy. He didn’t understand. 

Roman laughed he flung his arm over Virgil’s shoulder. “You okay there love?” 

“This just seems so sudden.” Virgil stateted. “They literally just met.”

Roman laughed harder, “Vee this is how normal mates are.”

“I wasn't,” Virgil argued. 

“Yeah, well we are the exception.” Roman said kissing Virgil’s cheek.
