ELEVEN

eleven.

LUNA
Another day had passed being stuck in this room. It's scary because I think I'm slowly getting used to my daily routine here that I can't go back to living like I used to.

Maybe the only thing I'm looking forward to is Felix entering the room without knocking

and yes, he's here right now, holding two video game controllers as he smiled at me. "Ren's not home and I don't have anyone to play with but you," he says, his eyes blinking a couple of times, waiting for me to get his point.

"You're asking your prisoner to play video games with you?" I responded.

"Yeah? I did that with my other prisoner in the past - well, technically he was watching me play while his neck was tied to a rope in the ceiling so..." he trailed off, not knowing how to explain it clearly and briefly, "I guess you can say I left him hanging"

He laughed at his joke that wasn't even funny. "Your humor is outdated," I say.

"Hey, old is gold, m'lady. And people love gold" he claimed as he smirked at me.

"You just like to generalize." I sighed. I also think I have been used that we're bickering every day, there's never a day in this mansion that we never bicker. I took the other controller from his hand, "Alright" I say and we both head out to the living room.

-

"Do you know any video games?" He asked as he rummage through the different games on CDs. He has the latest version of PlayStation, PS4 Pro.

I didn't respond to him because I couldn't. I spent most of my time reading books, not browsing the internet or playing video games or online games. I didn't even have any social media accounts, well, I have a YouTube account because I'm addicted to watching cute animal videos but aside from that, I have no social media accounts.

I do vaguely remember a memory that I was observing kids in the arcade play games but that was when I was 8.

"Okay... I can see that this is your first time playing a video game," he says as he finally picks a game of his choice, "So I get to pick what we'll play" he smiled at the CD before inserting it inside the PlayStation. He sat on the couch and looked at me.

"Come on, It'll be fun." He assured. He lend me the other controller as I sat down beside him, a little bit far from him. "I'll definitely win all this."

-

"K.O!" the game loudly says, this had been the 10th time I had killed Felix in Tekken but he's not giving up. I am very much competitive so there's no way I'm losing to him.

"Again!" he says. I didn't say anything but watched his angry state.

"This is very embarrassing for you, isn't it?" I said. He glared at me

"This time, for sure, I am going to win," He says. I shrugged and we played another round and another,

and another,

and he keeps on getting defeated.

"What the hell..." My head jerked to the front door and saw Ren standing there, eyes widened at the sight of Felix playing Tekken with his prisoner.

"Well," I grunt as I stood up, arching my back because it's stiff from hours sitting on that couch, "I'm afraid Ren's arrival is a sign to stop playing and admit defeat, Lee Felix." I put my chin up, smudging it into his face that he lost to me, someone who has never played video games before.

Felix was about to argue back at me but Ren pushed me "Enough nonsense, get going. I'll lead you there so that you won't even think of escaping" He furrowed his eyebrows at me and continued to nudge me to go forward.

I rolled my eyes and went up the stairs straight to my room with Ren's burning gaze at my back.

-

As Ren was coming back down Felix was occupied with putting the CD and the controllers back to where they were originally at. Ren sighed. He noticed it, Felix is being too comfortable with this prisoner of his.

"You know, at this point, you're not treating her as your prisoner anymore," Ren says as he crossed his arms at Felix. Felix looked up at him when he was finally done arranging.

"Really?" He followed it with a laugh, finding Ren's opinion to be ridiculous. "I did tell her to be my woman and she accepted it"

"What?" Ren's jaw dropped. Felix just laughed at his reaction but Ren was serious about it, "I'm not telling this as your assistant Felix but as your friend" He says and exhaled before continuing.

"Love can drive people insane and I don't know what'll happen to you if you'll fall in love," He said, eyeing Felix, judging his whole character. Felix is already insane, what more if he falls in love? It'll be disastrous.

"Wait," Felix stops him as he laughs in ridicule, "You think I'll fall in love with her?" He asked.

"From the looks of it, yes, yes you will or maybe you're already starting to fall for her" Ren argued. Felix shook his head at him, laughing and finding his speculation to be utterly ridiculous.

"She's my prisoner. Nothing more, nothing less. I just decided to play with her because you weren't around - plus I did this with my other prisoner in the past, right? What makes it so different if I play with her too?" Felix spat back at him, denying his growing feelings for Kiera.

"What's different is that the prisoner in the past that you played with wasn't even alive anymore, you killed him but she, she's alive, breathing, and you're the one allowing it," Ren says and sighed when Felix didn't speak anymore, "I suggest you kill her before it's too late. Before you will come to a point where you can't bring yourself to hurt her"

"Before she'll become your weakness."

That was Ren's last words before turning his back on Felix and walking away from him, leaving Felix to fall into his void of thoughts, thinking that Ren's words might be true.

"Okay...and...done!" he pressed the last key of the keyboard of his computer as it did its work. Jooyeon smiled and reached for his banana milk beside his computer and sip on it as he waited for the virus he had sent to Felix's computer

He had arranged everything as he wanted. He made a fake profile for him saying that he's a professional computer technician - a five-star computer technician to be exact, and the reviews are all good, praising him for how professional he is but of course he also put some bad reviews and average reviews to make it more "realistic"

Being perfect is always suspicious, one needs to have one or more flaws in their life because there is no such thing as perfect.

Jooyeon made sure that if they were going to search for computer technicians that can fix his computer, his name - fake name - will pop out first.

It's a gamble, to be honest. There's really no guarantee that Felix would hire him through the website. Maybe he has his own computer technician to fix his computer for him?

Jooyeon sighed. He really doesn't have any other choice than this. He doesn't have the skills to save Kiera by himself. Is this what he gets from ignoring his family's teachings and deciding to follow the path of technology?

"Should I just ask Taehyung to help me?" He asked himself. Knowing his brother, Jooyeon's sure he won't help him.

Jooyeon had been abandoned by his family, disowned by his parents, and his relatives are disgusted by his choice of pursuing his dreams in technology. The only one who remained by his side was his brother, Kim Taehyung.

Jooyeon's family forced him to change his family surname that's why he's not a Kim like his brother. Taehyung started frequently visit his house and told him that it was alright for him to still call him brother since they still share the same blood.

When his entire family turned their back on him and discarded him as one of them, Taehyung remained to consider him as a family despite their parents scolding him that he should cut ties with Jooyeon.

He's thankful for his brother, really but he doubts that he'll help with this one.

He continued to sip on his banana milk, his finger tapping on his desk, anxiously waiting. He kept on glancing at the clock on his computer

10:30 am

11:15 am

12:51 pm

1:35 pm

Jooyeon sighed in defeat, resting his head on his desk. He was about to give up when

he received a notification.

he got hired.

-

FELIX
"When's that technician coming?" Felix asked as he glanced at Ren and back at his computer which is stuck showing a red screen. It was suddenly just like this when he got here so he called for Ren thinking he might have the ability to fix his laptop that had just gone on its period.

Unfortunately, Ren wasn't an expert in this field so they browse through the internet to find something that'll help them and stumble upon a website full of professional computer technicians.

Ren hired the best computer technician, well, according to the internet that is. The reviews were good so he hired him without hesitation.

"He said he'll arrive at three o'clock sharp," Ren stated, glancing at his wristwatch to check if the computer technician hasn't passed by the time he told them he'll arrive. Just when he was about to speak to Felix, a knock erupted at Felix's office door.

Ren opened it and it was one of the maids, "Sir, someone arrived. He's claiming to be a computer technician you hired through the internet" the maid said, looking down, avoiding eye contact with Ren and Felix.

"Hm, he's a minute early. Impressive." Ren said while looking at his watch.

"Your definition of impressive is not impressive." Felix snorted which Ren just ignored. Ren knew Felix's definition of impressive is beyond his understanding so he doesn't bother arguing with him.

"Let him in," Ren said as he smiled at the maid. The maid bowed at him and went away to do what she was told to do. Ren looked at Felix again, they stared at each other for a minute without saying anything before Ren walked out of his office.

JOOYEON
The young man was in awe as he stared at the huge estate. He's not used to a rich life even if he did come from a wealthy family. He didn't get to experience the wealth his family have that much because he got abandoned when he was still in high school.

He had to work his butt off to at least finish college and get a job to avoid dying because he was jobless. Though his line of work involved a lot of crime, he didn't care as long as the pay was high.

He still didn't know how to save Kiera - if she is being held captive. What he needs to know now is that if she is being held captive then he needs to know where she is being held captive.

There is a high chance that she's not being held captive on the same roof as Felix is living in but in a different place, like a warehouse, an abandoned building, or underground the estate - if they did have one.

If she is being held captive in the same place where Felix is living then Felix might've been much more of a psychopath than I thought he would be, Jooyeon thought as he made his way towards the pathway that leads to the mansion. The maid opened the door for him and he went in.

He saw a man in a black suit screaming professional and elegant a little further away from where he was standing. The man noticed him and raised his hand, "Wait there, please" he said and walked away until he was nowhere out of sight.

Jooyeon didn't waste any of his time. As soon as he saw that the people in the mansion were doing their own business, he explored the mansion. He needs to act as fast as he could, as stealthy as he could, like an assassin. Like his brother, and his family.

It might be pretty idiotic for him to come inside the lion's den without a proper plan but everything in his life is a gamble. He gambles every time and this was no different than the different situations he experienced in his life where he was forced to make a risky move.

Now, why was he going this far for Kiera? It wasn't just because of the earpiece. He had grown attached to her to the point of having feelings for her. He thought it was just a puppy love that'll eventually go away somehow, but surprise surprise, it didn't.

And here he was right now, gambling his entire life, his entire future, risking his life for a woman who he doesn't even have any idea if she felt the same way for him.

He started to whistle a song, a song that he keeps on singing that Kiera got sick of it. He's sure if Kiera is being held captive in one of these rooms, she'll surely react to the tune of the whistle - if she does want to escape from here. Knowing Kiera, there was no guarantee that she wants to escape from here. She's a psychopath, who knows if she also loves the thrill of being held captive?

He went upstairs and slowly passed by each room, hoping to get a response.

"Jooyeon?"

He took a halt and glanced at the door. Found her, he thought and went closer to the door.

"Kiera! Holy shit you are being held captive here." Jooyeon's muffled voice behind the locked doors made me anxious. The thought of him getting caught snooping around here makes me anxious.

"What the fuck are you doing here!?" I screamed in a whisper. It wasn't clear but I knew he scoffed at me.

"You're welcome" He sarcastically replied. Weirdly enough, I could sense him rolling his eyes at me.

"You have to get out of here, it's not safe," I said but this brat wasn't listening to me. He wasn't responding for a couple of minutes, "Jooyeon?" I called.

"I'll unlock this door with a paperclip," He said.

"What? For fuck's sake stop watching movies! That mostly doesn't work in real life!" I argued, slightly raising my voice but cautious if it was loud enough for Felix and Ren to hear from downstairs.

"I got this-"

"What are you doing?"

Fuck, that was Felix's voice.

-

JOOYEON
The voice behind him made him retreat the paper clip he has in his hands and turned to him.

Lee Felix.

"Oh! This wasn't the office? I'm sorry" he scratched the back of his neck as he bowed at Felix. Jooyeon was wearing a mask so even if Felix did see his face back at the party, he wouldn't remember clearly what his eyes looked like, right?

Jooyeon was being extra cautious. He kept his head low in case Felix does remember what his eyes looked like and recognized him from that, he'll die on the spot without a doubt.

"I'm really sorry. Many of my clients complained about how I get lost in their house that easily. I tend to roam around the house, I'm sorry. It became a habit." He continued.

"It's fine. My office is downstairs, someone will lead you there" Felix smiled at him. He couldn't help but gulp, feeling that Felix didn't fall for his lie.

"I'm really sorry and thank you so much!" He bowed continuously and fast before dashing downstairs in a flash.

-

LUNA
I heard all of it. The voice definitely belongs to Felix. When they were done, I immediately backed away from the door and went to the bed when I heard the door getting unlocked from the outside.

Felix was coming in.

I stared at the ceiling, acting like I didn't converse with Jooyeon earlier about his decision of getting me out of here.

"That technician didn't try to go in here?" He suddenly asked. I tried my best to not sound like I was lying. I looked at him with a blank face

"No? Did he try to go in?" I asked, hoping my act was convincing enough. I really don't want Jooyeon to get tangled up in the problem I created myself. Felix didn't answer my question but turned his back on me as he ran his hands to his mouth, covering it as he laughed.

My entire body felt shivers as he laughed like a maniac.

Fuck, shit, he knows.

He turned to me, eyes hooded as he stared down at me. "Do you take me as a fool?" It was my first time seeing him with that kind of expression, a very serious one like he's about to kill somebody.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I continued to play dumb. I know it won't work but this is all I can do now. I have to get Jooyeon out of my mess, I can't drag him.

"He willingly stepped on my territory, Kiera. I wonder," He trailed off, slowly walking around, eyes on the ground and slowly landing on mine "what happens to someone who goes inside a lion's den?"

He suddenly curled his hands up into a fist and lands it on his palm, "Aha! I know! they die." he says with a devilish smile.

My jaw clenched as my throat started to dry, "wait..." I spoke but he turned his back on me again and started to exit the room.

Fear,

fear took over me. I haven't been well ever since the auction party. The nightmares that keeps appearing weren't only happening in my dreams, I could see them in real life now.

Yes, I'm starting to hallucinate.

I stood up, about to catch up to Felix who was off to take Jooyeon's life, "no please..." I tried to speak. He slammed the door shut as my body fell in front of the door, my hands gripping the door knob. "Leave him alone! He... doesn't have anything to do with me." I pleaded.

I don't know what's happening to me but the thought of Jooyeon dying because of me - I can't take it.

"Don't kill him." I didn't even know if Felix is still on the other side of the door. I just kept on pleading and pleading.

I just discovered something else, my trauma is getting worse every day to the point that I'm starting to hear voices and see things that aren't there.

I might have just developed Schizophrenia. I know there would be a day where I'll start to break, where my trauma would start to catch up to me, and where I'll eventually face the consequences of killing the people I've killed but I wasn't expecting it would happen while I'm being held captive.

"Lu,"

I trembled. The familiar voice of my mother erupted behind me, the warm voice slowly sounded more distorted as it continued. I didn't look behind me because I know I'll see something that'll hunt me.

"Why...Why have you grown up to be such a monster!" it echoed through my ears as I started to cry in fear. I hate this feeling.

My hands dropped when the door in front of me opened, revealing Felix staring down at me with furrowed eyebrows.

"Why...why are you crying for him?" He asked. I couldn't even argue back and reason at him that I'm not crying because of Jooyeon but because of these hallucinations and the voices that I keep on hearing ever since that auction party incident that triggered my trauma.

He knelt in front of me, reaching my level. He stared at me for a couple of seconds before finally saying something, "I won't kill him but..." he brought his hands up to my face as his fingers brushed on my cheeks, his thumb wiping my tears.

"It comes with a price." He dragged his hands that were on my cheeks down to my jaw as he pulled it closer to his face.

I wasn't in my right state of mind to realize that I should be pushing him away, slapping him, or even punching him so he'll stop what he was about to do.

His lips landed on mine. The sensation made me close my eyes as he started to move his lips, his tongue granting access to let it inside my mouth.

I eventually grant him access to let his tongue explore my mouth. It was turning out to be a sloppy kiss. My hands, as if having a mind on its own, went to his soft hair as I started to caress it, deepening the kiss much more.

My mind was clouded and I couldn't think straight anymore. The identity of the man in front of me all seemed to disappear, like it didn't matter anymore. As if all I needed to do was focus all of my attention to what we were doing.

His hands went up to my waist as he pulled my close to him. The both of us didn't want to stop, and we were both aware of it.

He gently pulled away from me, staring on my lips that he had just tasted, and stood up. I looked at him, my eyes blinking for a couple of times as I tried to process what the fuck just happened and the thought that was rampaging on my mind that I wanted more.

"Stop looking at me like that" He chuckled.

"What?" that was all I could say, still processing.

"Like you're disappointed that I stopped there. Trust me, I didn't want to. I just wanted to tease you and make you beg for more, but considering how you are it'll be a long time until you'll beg me for more." he says, his smirk that I hated so much appeared again on his face.

"I'll keep my word, I won't kill him so rest assured." That was his last words before closing the door and locking it, leaving me still on the ground, dumbfounded of what happened.
