McKayla gets in line where the teacher is handing out report cards.

McKayla spots Chase in line "Hey Chase" McKayla says "Hey" Chase says looking at the front of the line anxiously.

"If you're expecting a cash prize you're in the wrong line" McKayla says "I don't need money when my impeccable grades are a reward for my future money and success" Chase smiles excitedly.

McKayla smiles "Grades don't mean all that" McKayla says, Chase tilts his head "you sound like someone who never got an A+" Chase smirk teasing her.

"Yup! And I'm great about it" McKayla says, Chase shakes his head, he doesn't understand her in this regard.

The line moves and the teacher gives Chase his report card "AAAAHH!!" Chase screams, McKayla covers her ears scared "An A-minus!!" Chase says the teacher shrugs.

"A-MINUS!!" Chase turns to McKayla "Woah You sound like someone who has never got an A-minus " McKayla smirk, Chase stares at the report scared.

"This is supposed to be the part where you say you're great about it" McKayla says, Chase glares at her.

Adam, Bree and Leo are in the main hallway, Chase runs in, holding his own progress report.

"Look at this! An "A-minus"! I knew my Home Ec teacher had it out for me. Always criticizing my muffins" Chase says "Ha-ha! I beat you! I got a "D-plus"! "Plus" because I'm better!" Adam show his report card.

"Adam, the "plus" is... You know what? It's just not even worth it anymore" Bree says.

""D" is not a good grade, but we don't really expect you to get good grades. I'm engineered to be the smartest person on the planet, and I just got an "A-minus." I've been relegated to into the huddled, unwashed masses of minuses, like you!" Chase says.

"Chase, I know this must be hard for you, but, I mean, look at the bright side..?seeing you fall flat on your face is really fun for us!" Bree says "I have got to find a way to reclaim my superiority" Chase says.

"Well, you could sign up for the Student of the Semester competition" Leo says "What's that?" Chase ask "Every semester, kids compete to see who can best improve the school. Whoever gets the most votes wins free pencils, a bumper sticker, and a cheesy picture of himself on the wall!" Leo points to a tacky photo of a girl on the wall.

"And that cheesy picture will show everyone that my brilliance reigns supreme! I am so gonna win!" Chase says excitedly "I call your free pencils! No, wait, I'll take the cheesy picture. Oh gosh, they both sound so good!" Adam says.

the bell rings "Race ya!" Adam and Chase run out.

In the main school hallway.

Chase is handing out his business cards to random students in the hallway

"Hey, vote for Chase. Tell your friends. Vote for Chase for Student of the Semester" Chase delivers the cards.

"Here's my website, where you can peruse my platform, marvel at my skills, or even play a game of Chase trivia, where all the answers are about me" Chase tells some random students.

McKayla is walking down the hall with headphones on "McKayla!" Chase hands her a card, McKayla takes off her headphones.

"Vote for Chase student of the semester!" Chase says, McKayla looks at the card "I don't vote for guys who get an A-minus to be student of the semester" McKayla says sarcastically.

Chase's smile fades, McKayla laughs he spots Adam, Bree, and Leo in the hall, Chase goes to them and McKayla follows him.

"Hey! What do you think?" Chase hands them his business card whit a smile "What do I think, or what's appropriate to say to your face?" Leo says.

""Chase the dream"? Please do not give these to anyone I might want to become friends with" Bree says "did he give you a card yet?" Bree asks McKayla "Yup" McKayla shows the card "and it's gone" Bree says.

"I've got a whole plan. Check it out. I even linked the latest facial recognition software to the school database to create a laser automated attendance system" Chase points to the scanner on the main doorway

A boy passes through the scanner "Andrew Lamb has been late three days in a row" The machine says.

"Straight to the principal's office, Andy. He'll thank me later for putting him on the right path" Chase says "surely not, he's going to want to smash your face once he leaves the principal's office" McKayla says.

"I agree with the napkin girl. Dude, you're never gonna win with that. Kids want fun stuff like jacuzzis in math class and hallways paved with candy. Ooh, and I also think biology would be a lot more fun if we could juggle the frogs before we dissected them" Adam says, everyone frowns at him.

"That's frog abuse" Leo says "Fine, we'll do it after, but it's gonna get messy" Adam says, McKayla presses her lips together "yeah, I'm gonna "chase" my way out from this conversation" McKayla says showing the card and leaving, Chase rolls his eyes.

In the cafeteria.

Adam is in line preparing his "Ooh, turkey! Ooh! Gravy!"Adam dumps the whole container of gravy on his food and the machine scans his tray "Step away from the gravy!" The machine says.

"Don't tell me what to do, turkey!" Adam says irritated, Chase walks over to Adam "Adam, that's my nutritional scanner, insuring that everyone gets a perfectly balanced... nutritious lunch." Chase says

"Ohh. Chase, I don't think your scanner's a very good idea" Adam says, McKayla is in line "Of course it is! Who doesn't love being told how to eat properly?" Chase says

The machine scans several of the student's trays, "More green beans? Too many fries. A cupcake? Really? I wouldn't, but it's your health" The machine tells several students, Chase makes a worried face.

McKayla was the next in line the machine scans her plate "Congratulations, your plate is perfectly balanced and nutritious, keep it up" the machine says, McKayla makes an impressed face "Aw well thank you!" McKayla takes a bow.

Chase points at her "Aha! You see there are still people who enjoy my work!" Chase says "actually what I enjoy is my diet, my goal is to have the lightness of a swan..." McKayla says standing on tiptoe like a ballerina "... It doesn't necessarily have to do with your weird machine," McKayla says.

"Chase, you're going about this all wrong. Let me help! Look, I know how to win you votes" Adam says, Chase looks at McKayla who shrugs.

Adam rolls in a DJ cart with blaring lights and music "Everyone say hello to Deejay Chasey Chase!" Adam says.

"Woah! Yeah that's cool!" McKayla says, Chase goes to Adam "Adam, what is going on?" Chase ask "I'm helping you win! Or should I say...I'm helping you win!" Adam says into the microphone.

"I do not need a cheesy deejay setup!" Chase says "I know. That's why I brought you this awesome deejay setup! It's a lunchtime dance party!" Adam says.

Adam and the students in the cafeteria start dancing while waving spoons "Go gravy! Go gravy! Go gravy! Go gravy! Go gravy!" Adam says

"Go gravy! Go gravy! Go gravy! Go gravy! Go gravy! Go..." McKayla was following along, however, when she received a look from Chase "...Sorry, But this is helping you, right?" McKayla says, Chase leaves.

In the cafeteria.

Adam carries in a vending machine with his super strength and Chase walks in "Hey!" Chase says, Adam drops vending machine on his foot "Ooowww!" Adam screams.

"Adam, for the last time, that is not a giant lunchbox!" Chase says "No! It's part of your new campaign to win Student of the Semester. I...I mean you...put a vending machine in study hall" Adam smiles.

"But those aren't even healthy foods. Is that key lime pie?" Chase says "I don't know. Gimme a buck and I'll find out" Adam says.

McKayla walks in "Hey napkin girl what do you think?" Adam asks "A vending machine, that's cool" McKayla says, Adam nudges Chase students go over and check out the vending machine.

"They love it!" Chase says "Of course they do. They're getting their meal from a machine" Adam says "and the machine isn't questioning their life choices!" McKayla smiles.

Adam chuckles "And you didn't think you needed my help. I'm totally gonna win this thing for you" Adam says going to a table, Chase approaches him and McKayla follows him.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. You're gonna win this thing for me?" Chase says "Yeah, I just said that" Adam says "Uuuhh This isn't going to end well" McKayla tells herself.

"Don't you think your sudden popularity has something to do with my ideas?" Adam says "No. I think that people are finally realizing my campaign slogan, "Chase the dream," is about me. I'm the dream!" Chase smiles "Yeah" McKayla thinks out loud, Chase looks at her.

McKayla clears her throat "I mean...yeah right" McKayla pretends to be sarcasm and crosses her arms, Adam thinks "It works on a lot of levels. Don't hurt yourself" Chase pats Adam on the back.

"But my strategy was ten times better. You just can't deal with the fact that I'm finally smarter at something than you are" Adam says "Oh, really? Ten times better? What'd you use, all your fingers and toes to count that one out?" Chase says.

"Okay I think we should stop and change the subject..." McKayla says getting in between them "You know what? You always treat me like an idiot" Adam says "...or not!" McKayla says.

"But not this time because I'm entering this contest, and I'm taking you down" Adam says "You wouldn't" Chase says "Are you not listening? I just said I would!" Adam says irritably, he picks up the backpack that was tangled up on the table and leaves, carrying the table with him.

Chase makes an irritated face. "Don't you think you were a lil hard on him?" McKayla says, Chase scoffs "Me?" Chase says "he was just trying to help you" McKayla says.

Chase tilts his head "You don't know him like I do, he always tries to surpass me in everything" Chase says "so because of that you put him down to feel superior?" McKayla asks.

Chase looks away thoughtfully for a second "Of course not" Chase says nervously and leaves.

McKayla had an inexplicable interest in understanding Chase. One of the things she wanted to understand was this compulsiveness he had to be perfect and to be the best.

Chase appears to be insecure, and she wants to understand why, so she can help him, but he's not the type that's easy to open up and admit to his mistakes.

In the main hallway

Chase is handing out cards to students "Here you go... Vote for Chase... Here you go... Vote for Chase. And don't forget to stop by the nurse's office for your free scoliosis screening, sponsored by... yours truly" Chase smiles.

A horn honks and Adam drives up to Chase in a brightly colored vehicle "'Scuse me! Comin' through! Who wants to ride the high school party bus? Whoo-hoo!" Adam says.

McKayla gets out of the vehicle "Thanks for the ride Adam!" McKayla pats the car "Whenever you need it, napkin girl!" Adam says excitedly "McKayla!! For the tenth time my name is McKayla!" McKayla says.

"Sorry, napkin girl" Adam says, Chase walks up to them "Do you honestly believe that giving kids rides to class is gonna make them want to vote for you?" Chase says "Who's going to class? We're just cruising the halls" Adam smiles.

"Hey, everyone, wouldn't you rather walk to class, knowing you're also fitting in 2% of your daily exercise requirement?" Chase says, McKayla frowns with pity as she sees Chase being ignored while the students crowd around the Party Bus "No? Okay." Chase says.

"Attention, party-bussers! There will be no stops, so if you're looking for a ride to class, plan your jumps accordingly." Adam drives away and Leo walks up to Chase and McKayla.

"Well... My scientific polling, which consists of all your crumpled-up business cards in the trashcan shows that Adam is beating you by a comfortable margin" Leo says, Chase sighs.

"If I'm gonna compete with him, I have to start thinking like a simpleminded creature, one who goes through the day on basic instinct and random impulse, like a dog or a monkey or a sea slug" Chase says "Or Adam" The three say.

"Hey! You know the students, you know what they like!" Chase tells McKayla, they look at him suspiciously "Tell me what their wildest dream is and I'll make it come true!" Chase smiles.

"I don't think you can demolish the school and build a Disney park in its place" McKayla says "Well, never stop to "Chase the dream!"" Leo says in a mocking tone, Chase looks at him irritated and McKayla laughs.

"Chase, as much as I would love to see you defeat Adam, I don't want to get involved in this" McKayla turns to leave, Chase holds her arm "Mack please!" Chase says in a sweet voice.

McKayla looks at Chase's hand on her arm, she feels a strange feeling in her stomach at his touch, she looks at him and it's like his bright, hazel eyes shine even brighter than normal.

"Uh...Fine!" McKayla pulls her arm, she sighs and rolls her eyes "I can't say no to you" McKayla says "Yeess!" Chase celebrates.

In the main hallway, Chase is grilling burgers in the main hallway for the students, McKayla is next to him eating a burger.

"Here you go. Enjoy your "Chee-ase" burger!" Chase says serving a student, Chase smiles "Mack, that was a great idea, everyone is loving it!" Chase says excitedly.

"my grandmother always says that the way to win over people is through their stomach" McKayla says, she bites into her burger "Didn't you say you have a diet to follow?" Chase ask.

McKayla glares at him "fewer questions and more burgers the line is increasing "The Dream guy!" Come on!" McKayla presses him and he grills more burgers.

Adam walks in "A hamburger cart? That's the best you got?" Adam says "Hey it was my idea!" McKayla says offended, Chase puts his hand gently on her shoulder and smirks at Adam.

"The only thing juicer than my burgers is what you're about to eat, which is a big, heaping pile of hot, tasty defeat" Chase chuckles.

"Well, speaking of defeat, care for a foot rub?" Adam gestures to a foot massage station across the room.

Chase's smile fades and McKayla frowns "What's that?" Chase ask "That is my 2-minute massage shop, winning hearts and minds ten toes at a time" Adam says "Oh no" McKayla says.

"Oh, go ahead, people. First come, first served" Adam says the students run over to the foot massage area and Adam grabs a burger "Mmm, good" Adam says.

McKayla sighs and puts down the burger "You know what? I've really had it with you" Chase says "Aww. What are you gonna do about it?" Adam mocks.

"You know, you can't really enjoy a burger without a little ketchup on your buns" Chase squirts ketchup down the back of Adam's pants "Oh God" McKayla rolls her eyes.

"Ha! Joke's on you. I kinda liked it" Adam leaves, McKayla frowns "Really?" McKayla says to Chase "Yeah, I'm not proud of that either" Chase says awkwardly, dropping the ketchup in the cart.

Everyone gathers in the main hall to find out the results of the competition.

"Ah, this is it, the moment we've all been waiting for" Chase and McKayla walks up to Adam and Leo.

Adam gasps "They found a talking horse that fights crime?" Adam says "No, this is the moment you've been waiting for!" McKayla says.

"It's the Student of the Semester results. Miss Thistle gets to open the results because she's the oldest teacher in school" Leo says, Mrs. Thistle struggles to open the envelope.

"She was supposed to be a professional at opening envelopes, those kind of things were the sms of her time" McKayla says, Chase shakes his head impatiently.

"Oh, just give me the stupid thing!" Chase rips envelope out of her hands "I mean... Let me help you, ma'am. Okay" Chase rolls his eyes and opens it) Yes! Yes, yes, yes! I... tied with Adam?" Chase says in disbelief.

"Yes! I half-won!" Adam celebrates and lifts up Chase "Put me down" Chase says irritated, Adam drops Chase and the bell rings.

"There must be some mistake. Maybe you missed a few. Count again, please!" Chase says in despair to the teacher "No, Chase, she's not gonna make it through another count" Leo says.

McKayla puts her hand on his shoulder "I'm sorry Chase" McKayla says "N-No I don't understand" Chase says "you two were really good" McKayla says.

"Relax, you still have a chance to win" McKayla says "Oh I have a chance and I'm will!" Chase says determinedly, McKayla raises her eyebrows intrigued and watches him leave.

McKayla sighs, she knew there was no way to convince Chase to stop, he is stubborn, McKayla has experience in dealing with these types of people, but Chase's competitive and determined spirit was something that caught her attention.

In the Lab, Bree and Leo were talking when Adam and Chase walk in.

"I can't believe we tied. Now we each have to write an essay to determine the winner" Chase says "Yeah, and when everyone at school reads my essay, I'm gonna be Student of the Semester" Adam says confidently holding a notebook.

"Let me see that" Chase grabs his notebook "It's just a bunch of badly drawn rocket ships" Chase says "Yeah, next page" Adam says, Chase turns the page.

"A tiny-headed guy with a big mouth?" Chase says "Yeah, that's you. Next page" Chase frowns and turns the page.

""I, Adam Davenport, should be Student of the Semester." That's it?" Chase ask "What? It's sharp and to the point. Took me 25 minutes" Adam says taking the notebook back.

"You know what? I'm not even worried because the winner's gonna be the one who can write the best essay, and we all know that's me" Chase says convinced.

"You think you're so smart! Well, you may be a better writer, but I'm better...!" Adam try to think of something "That's right. You got nothin'." Chase says.

"No, I got this" Adam fires his heat vision and Chase blocks it with his force field Oh, you think you're so cool because you have lasers. Well, guess what... I can fight back too!" Chase says.

Chase forms his force field into a ball of energy and throws it at Adam, sending him flying across the room.

"Bull's-eye!" Chase smirks, Adam runs over and grabs Chase.

"Bree, should we do something?" Leo ask "Nah, they're bionic brothers. It's how they roll." Bree says

Adam throws Chase across the room "And fly" Bree says

Adam jumps over and pins Chase to the ground "Ha! I can still pin you in less than three seconds!" Adam says excitedly and leaves, Chase quickly gets up and fixes his tie "I'm good." Chase says.

Bree and Leo go to him, Chase sighs "He always plays the physical card. This contest was my thing, and he's trying to show me up" Chase says.

"He's not trying to show you up, he's did show you up. Instead of giving him credit, you made him feel stupid, and that's how you always make him feel" Bree leaves.

Chase looks down upset "Huh. Now I'm starting to think she's smarter than you too" Leo says

In the main hallway, Adam and Chase await the results of the tiebreaker.

"Hey, prepare yourself for the bitter taste of defeat, which I plan on spoon-feeding you in delightful, bite-sized portions every single time I see you" Adam smiles "Mm-hmm. Let's just see what happens" Chase says.

Perry Speaks over the loudspeaker "And the Student of the Semester is... Adam Davenport!"

"Whoo-hoo! I beat you! Eat it! Eat the defeat!" Adam puts his arm around Chase and pretends to feed him a fake spoon "Open your mouth!" Adam says "Okay, Adam" Chase says calmly "Lick the spoon! Lick it!" Adam continues "All right! That's enough" Chase shouts angrily.

Adam walks over to a group of students, Bree and McKayla walks up to Chase.

"Uh, Chase, something's not right with Adam's essay. "I should be Student of the Semester because I'm tall, I'm happy, and I will let you have dogs in the library." Bree reads Adam's essay.

"So? What's wrong with that?" Chase says "Adam would have misspelled "Library." Adam would have misspelled "dogs."" Bree says, McKayla chuckles.

"Okay, fine. I wrote it, put his name on it, and tanked my own essay. He had good ideas and deserved to win" Chase says "Wow that's so sweet" McKayla gives a slight smile, Chase tries to control a smile by pressing his lips.

"So I got one "A-minus." I guess I can't be perfect at everything" Chase says "Chase, that's not true." Bre puts her hand on his shoulder, Chase tilts his head with a smile "You're not perfect at a lot of things" Bree pats him on the shoulder and leaves.

"Welcome to the world of "minus" then!" McKayla says "I think you were right, maybe perfect grades don't mean everything" Chase says "at least you tried that makes you a good student" McKayla says trying to comfort him.

Chase nods slightly in agreement "Thank you for helping me, you know even though you don't have perfect grades you have an A+ as a good friend, not just to me but to everyone at school" Chase says.

McKayla stares at him for a second, Chase gives a slight smile that makes her blush "Um...Thanks Chase, that was...the nicest thing anyone ever said to me" McKayla says shyly.

Chase shrugs with a smile "You should be the student of the semester" Chase says gently patting her on the shoulder and leaving, McKayla smiles to herself with a feeling of excitement, she takes a deep breath and goes to Bree.

Chase walks over to Adam "Hey, Adam, congratulations. The best man won. And it was wrong of me to make you feel like you weren't smart enough to win" Chase says "Yes, it was, it was very scrumptious of you" Adam says

Chase frowns "Presumptuous." Chase corrects "That as well" Adam says.

Leo drives up in the party bus "Hey, Bree, good news! I found a new way to make it to class on time!" Leo says.

"Woah!" McKayla goes and sits next to Leo "get in, losers!" McKayla smiles "Let's do it!" Leo says Adam, Bree, and Chase get on the party bus.

"Buckle up, guys! I'm hitting the afterburner all the way to art class!" Adam says sitting in the driver's seat and accelerating the vehicle.
