A few days have passed since the Davenports' party, McKayla hasn't heard anything about them or seen them in the last few days, curiosity about what happened to those crazy people was inevitable.

McKayla arrives at school and finds Caitlin "Hey Cait, how are you?" McKayla asks "only you can be excited on a school day" Caitlin says "I'm rarely down, you know" McKayla says "You're a little angel!" Caitlin hugs McKayla who smiles.

"Did you hear anything about the Davenports? Do you think Mr Davenport was so angry that he took them out of school?" McKayla says "I have no idea, but I don't doubt they'll show up sooner or later" Caitlin says, McKayla nods.

"Why?" Caitlin asks "I was curious, they suddenly showed up and it was just so... random" McKayla frowns, Caitlin laughs "I liked the girl, she seems nice" Caitlin says.

"Yeah, the cake boy too" McKayla chuckles, Caitlin looks at her "what?" McKayla says "the... cake boy?" Caitlin raises her eyebrow.

"yes, the one who put cake all over his face" McKayla gestures to put something on her face "I know who it is!" Caitlin holds her hand.

"So?" McKayla ask "Did you like him?" Caitlin asks "Cait, don't start!" McKayla rolls her eyes "relax I'm not going to do anything..." Caitlin says.

McKayla sighs "he's really cute isn't he?" McKayla says "Eh" Caitlin says, McKayla tilts her head in irritation.

"He's a bit... dull" Caitlin says, McKayla shakes her head "But if you like it, who am I to judge!?" Caitlin shrugs.

"He seems cool, he doesn't seem like a bully and all macho like most guys out there... He seems to be kind" McKayla says putting her hair behind her ear "You like him!" Caitlin smiles.

"Cait!" McKayla says angrily "okay, I stopped!" Caitlin leaves.

Meanwhile in the Lab.

"Okay, guys, you have been trained for all kinds of missions. But you are about to enter a soul-bruising, confidence-crushing, apocalyptic environment: high school" Donald says, everyone looks at each other.

"Adam, Bree, your glitch test results are fairly stable" Donald says "Yes! I'm going to school!" Bree says excitedly "I'm fairly stable!" Adam says equally excited.

"But, Chase, I am still concerned about your Commando App" Donald says, Leo frowns "Commando App? Put on some underpants. We're going to school" Leo says.

"No, see, in the face of an imminent threat, Chase's Commando App kicks in and he becomes a fearless brute I like to call Spike" Donald holds Chase's shoulders.

"It's kinda like a fight-or-flight thing, except I took out the flight part, 'cause, useless. And I replaced it with a testosterone level of like a Tasmanian devil-wolverine-shark-lion hybrid that's mad!" Donald says.

"Don't worry, Mr. Davenport. I promise that Spike won't rear his ugly head" Chase says "Oh, yeah? You mean like last Christmas when I made the mistake of giving Adam boxing gloves?" Donald says

...

A flashback of the partially destroyed lab and Spike throwing a barrel across the room starts.

"Anybody else confused about the-don't-punch me rule?" Spike tells Adam he's on the floor

Adam looks up, frightened, under Spike's foot. Bree and Donald look at each other and raise their weapons in the effort to defend themselves behind the overturned console. The flashback ends.

...

"Ugh, I'm still coughing up tinsel" Adam says "You know, letting Chase go to school, isn't such a good idea. I can't risk Spike coming out" Donald says.

"Oh, come on, Big D. Chase has to come. With these guys, I'll finally get a prime spot in the cafeteria. That's right, y'all. Put on your coats 'cause I'm about to ride your tail!" Leo says.

"Don't worry. We'll make sure he stays out of trouble. Right, guys?" Adam says "Yeah. It's one for all and all for one. Unless, of course, you guys make me look bad, in which case, I am dropping you lame-os." Bree says.

"Mr. Davenport, I can't miss school. This is the beginning of my academic achievements and career trajectory. I mean, the road to astronaut lawyer has to start somewhere!" Chase says

"Okay. But I better not get a call from the art teacher saying that Spike ripped out her larynx....Actually, she wouldn't be able to say anything, because Spike ripped out her lar..." Mr Davenport gestures, Chase chuckles lightly "The point is just keep him out of trouble" Donald says.

"Hey, look what I found" Adam finds the boxing gloves, he punches Chase in stomach and he falls to the floor, he hides behind Bree "Look, I'm sorry, but if he's that close to the gloves, it's gonna happen" Adam says.

In the school cafeteria.

McKayla grabs a tray, and heads over to the cheerleading table, when she sees Leo, Adam, Bree, and Chase walk in, she gives an involuntary smile when she sees them.

Principal Perry is yelling at some students as usual "Okay, you guys. That's Principal Perry. She has the temperament of a junkyard dog stuffed into a really bad pantsuit" Leo tells Bree and Chase.

"Hey, you! No tongue rings in school! Don't try to hide it. I will take a metal detector to your face!" Perry shouts at a random student, McKayla watches Perry chase the boy.

A boy walks towards Bree, Chase and Leo "This is it. My chance for romance. On TV, the new girl always drops her books and the cute guy with the soulful eyes picks them up" Bree drops her books and a teacher slips on them instead "Oops! Sorry, I'm new" Bree says awkwardly.

McKayla opens a juice box and Adam sits between her and another cheerleader "Hey girl!" Adam smiles, the other girls just look at each other confused and laugh discreetly, McKayla smirks "Hey!" McKayla says.

"Oooh! You're the napkin girl!" Adam smiles excitedly when he recognizes her, McKayla frowns "remember? At the party!?" Adam says, McKayla chuckles "Yeah and you're one of the cake boys!" McKayla says "yeah!" Adam smiles.

"Okay, your social life is determined by where you sit. We can't sit at the cool table. But we can be cool table adjacent" Leo explains "FYI, Adam just sat down at the cool table" Bree points to Adam playing with oranges at the cheerleaders table.

"What?! He can't sit there! That's where the football players sit with the cheerleaders. And they pride themselves on finding very clever places to stuff your pudding cup" Leo says

"Those girls are actually talking to him. And they can't talk about shapes and colors forever. See ya" Chase says excitedly going to the table.

"No! The football players are gonna turn them into the 5th food group" Leo says, Bree frowns, Chase sits at the table "Hi!" Chase says shyly "Hey Chase look it's the napkin girl!" Adam says excitedly, McKayla gives Chase a smile.

"Oh no, no, they're talking to M.C!" Leo says "Who's M.C?" Bree asks "McKayla, she's the most popular girl in school, she's friends with everyone, I mean she's super cool...but she's the sister of the biggest bully in school, who loves to sit right where Chase is sitting. It's a rescue mission. Move in. Move in" Leo and Bree walk over to the cheerleader's table.

"Oh, hey, guys. Look, these girls just told me when the football players get here, I'm getting a free pudding cup" Adam says excitedly, McKayla plays with the juice straw anxiously while avoiding looking to the side where Chase is sitting.

"Hi!" Leo says to the girls and discreetly leans towards Chase "Walk away" Leo whispers "How's it going?" Leo tells the cheerleaders "You're in great danger" Leo whispers again, Chase makes a confused face.

McKayla takes a deep breath trying to turn around to at least tell Chase her name, when taking a deep breath she can smell a little of his perfume, she frowns slightly trying to understand why he has a baby smell, weird but cute.

But Trent and the football players walk in, chanting. Trent walks up to Leo and sniffs him threateningly "Not there" McKayla puts her hand in front of her face "okay" Leo moves away from him.

"Hey. That's my seat. Get lost before I use you like a napkin" Trent tells Chase "Trent give a break!" McKayla complains "Sis, I don't get involved in your business, you don't get involved in mine" Trent says, McKayla rolls her eyes.

"Chase, we should probably go. He's not very absorbent" Bree laughs nervously "You wouldn't have any napkins in there with you, would you?" Adam asks McKayla pointing at Trent, McKayla frowns at him.

Trent pours a drink on the table, McKayla takes a deep breath "Oh, look, a spill!" Trent grabs Chase's shirt "I think I'm gonna wipe it up with your face" Trent says, McKayla quickly gets up feeling extremely ashamed of being related to someone as stupid as Trent.

McKayla can only think about how embarrassing it would be to tell Chase and his sibilings that Trent is her brother, she doesn't understand why she cares so much about a stranger's opinion of her but she does.

Chase's face seizes up and his Commando App activates. Spike pins Trent to the table, McKayla takes a step back scared with her eyes wide, she definitely wasn't expecting this.

"Think again, Bubbleneck. I'm gonna rip out your kneecaps and use them as hockey pucks" Spike says aggressively to Trent, McKayla who, before open-mouthed, closes her mouth feeling a feeling of repulsion towards him.

Adam gets up dramatically from his seat, and clamors over to Bree and Leo "Okay, I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I think Spike's back" Adam tells them.

Spike releases Trent "You have no idea who you're messing with. Okay? Pudding cups!" Trent says "Trent, that's enough!" McKayla says

The football players hand Trent pudding cups, but Spike grabs them out of his hands "Ohh, I'll take those" Spike sprays the entire football team with pudding, McKayla covers her face so she doesn't get pudding "Hey! Ooooh! You're dead!" Trent says irritated.

Spike roars and Trent and the football players back away in fear, McKayla stands there staring at Spike, not in fear, but in disbelief and slightly disappointed.

"You, okay, okay. You're lucky that we have to go to the reading center right now" Trent and the football team run from the cafeteria and the whole room applauds.

Spike gives a proud smile "Take a seat, compadres. This is our table now" Spike says sitting down and putting his feet on the table, McKayla looks at him with disgust.

in the main school hallway.

Adam, Bree, Leo and Spike walk confidently through the halls.

"All right. Make room for the Alpha Dogs. Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof!" Leo says, Adam stops him "Don't do that" Adam says "Okay" Leo says

"Wait, if we're the Alpha Dogs, then...X Bree drops her books and several boys pick them up for her "Ooh, I love this!" Bree says.

McKayla and Caitlin watch from their lockers, McKayla scoffs "can you believe that?" McKayla says "that they became popular or that someone finally made her brother cry?" Caitlin says.

McKayla tilts her head "I mean it's about time right!" Caitlin says, McKayla rolls her eyes "look at him!" McKayla says and points to Spike "it's so disappointing" McKayla crosses her arms.

"Okay Mack, I'm going to be very realistic with you, you have this image of the perfect boy in your mind, but the truth is that he doesn't exist, what exists is just... that!" Caitlin points to Spike who is flexing.

McKayla makes a disgusted face "this is painful to watch" McKayla says "Are you saying you don't like him anymore?" Caitlin says, McKayla sighs "No, he's not like I imagined..." McKayla closes the locker.

"But that's okay, because you know who isn't a disappointment?" McKayla smiles "who?" Caitlin says "Bree, she's really cool" McKayla says "Uuh cool will we finally be able to start our group!" Caitlin says.

"We're already a group!" McKayla says "your people aren't a group, Mack!" Caitlin says, McKayla smiles and the two leave.

Spike continues to flex and notices cheerleaders looking at him. Chase's Commando App deactivates.

"Commando App disengaged? Guys! Why was I in Commando mode?" Chase asks worriedly "Were you in Commando mode?" Bree says in a high-pitched voice "I didn't see a Commando mode" Leo says "Oh, that's good, everyone keep lying" Adam smiles.

"You guys were supposed to watch out for me" Chase puts his hand on his forehead worried 'Oh, we watched the whole thing. You manhandled the quarterback and pudding popped the whole offensive line!" Leo says

"What?! Aw, great. This is so gonna come back to haunt my Supreme Court nomination" Chase says "You know what Spike would say to that? Nothing. He'd rip out your rib cage and play it like a xylophone" Bree says "Yeah, I like him. He's like a big, fun monster, and you're a sad little buddy" Adam says.

"I'll get Spike back. Get lost before I use you like a napkin" Leo tries to lift Chase up several times, but is unsuccessful "Yeah, this isn't gonna work" Leo says and Chase rolls his eyes.

In the cafeteria.

Leo, Adam, Bree and Chase are at the cheerleading table again, McKayla approaches but when she sees them there she decides to go sit with Trent at another table.

"Hey, napkin girl! Sit down here, there's room!" Adam says, McKayla shrugs at not having gone unnoticed and turns to them her eyes quickly meeting Chase's "No, thanks!" McKayla says and leaves, Chase feels personally offended even though he doesn't even know her.

McKayla goes to Trent, Chase spots him "Hey, there's Trent. I better go apologize" Chase gets up and Bree pulls him back "Whoa! Slow it up, buttercup" Bree says.

"Mail him a greeting card. It's so much more personal" Leo says "Guys, look. The cheerleaders cut up my food into tiny pieces. I'm eating a turkey burger through a straw. Mmm. Gibblet-y!" Adam says excitedly.

Perry walks in "Hey! New kid! Come here!" Chase stands up quickly, and goes over to her.

"Did you go whining to Principal Perry!?" McKayla asks Trent "Uh Duh!" Trent says, McKayla shakes her head.

"Do you know what happens when my football players get humiliated? No! You don't. Because my football players don't get humiliated!" Perry shouts at Chase who looks at her scared.

"They look humiliated to me" Adam says, a janitor walks by with a garbage bag and accidentally hits some of the football players in the head.

Chase signals Adam to be silent "I know what team spirit is about. Because I was the jammer on the North Pacific roller derby championship team" Perry says "Quite an accomplishment" Chase chuckles "Don't mock me, squash face" Perry says.

"My career ended when a trash talker like you got inside my head and I wiped. One zebra called it the worst single-bodied collision she'd ever seen" Perry says, Chase starts chuckling "I'd crash too if I saw a talking zebra" Chase says.

"It's a referee, you desk donkey! Trent told me what you did this morning at breakfast. You will not undermine the morale of my team. Evacuate this table. Now!" Perry says, Adam, Bree, and Leo hurriedly get up. Chase's Commando App activates.

"Watch who you're talking to, sports bra! I bet you panicked, threw yourself off the track ,and blamed the other team for your weakness" Spike shout out to Perry

"Do you think this Spike thing's gotten a bit out of hand?" Leo ask Bree "He might've crossed the line at sports bra" Bree says.

"I had to quit because of that accident" Perry says "Quit? Or move out of the state in shame?" Spike says,everyone gasps "Unbelievable" McKayla rolls her eyes "He doesn't know! He wasn't there" Perry says

"Why don't you hop in your economy car and tootle on home to your six cats and your online bingo tournament" Spike says "Jokes on you. I have 5 cats. Ha!" Perry says

Trent walks over 'You didn't get our table back. Bumming us out. And when we're bummed out, we lose. Do something."Trent whines 'you're pathetic bro!" McKayla says.

"All right, kid. I'll make you a deal. Let's be civilized and settle this the old-fashioned way. With a bone-crushing grudge match on the football field!" Perry says "We're in. Me... Him, her... and him" Spike points to Adam, Bree and Leo.

"You and your band of nobodies versus my fighting dingoes" Perry says "Who is she calling a nobody? I got half a BFF necklace today" Bree shows Leo the necklace "who!?" Leo smiles "M.C!" Bree smiles excitedly "You're kidding!" Leo says impressed.

"Winner takes table and all the glory" Perry says "Oh, ma'am, as much as I'd like to flex my football fanciness, um, girls soccer has the field tonight" Spike says 'Eh, just as well. I can't condone such a violent game on school grounds. So let's take it to the dog park across the street!" Perry says

"Am I the only one that's gonna need a fresh change of pants before we start?" Leo asks.

While everyone is getting ready for the game, McKayla grabs her bag to leave.

Bree walks over to her "Hey, M.C! Bestie!" Bree says excitedly, McKayla smiles "call me Mack" McKayla says.

"Aren't you going to stay for the game?" Bree says "I'd love to but I can't, I have dance class" McKayla says.

"Oh okay, see you tomorrow!" Bree says, McKayla smiles she sees Spike, Adam and Leo going to the dog park.

"Is your brother always like this?" McKayla asks pointing at Spike, Bree looks at him "who? Chase!? Oh no he's the exact opposite actually" Bree says.

"So why is he acting like this?" McKayla ask "Oh...um...that's a great question!" Bree says, McKayla tilts her head.

"What about your brother?" Bree points to Trent "unfortunately he's always like that" McKayla sighs.

"Brothers!" Bree and McKayla say together, they both laugh "I'll see you Bree" McKayla says and leaves, Bree waves excitedly at her.

Bree can barely contain her happiness at having made a friend on the first day of school, and for some reason she feels like it will be a friendship that lasts forever and it's not because it's on Bff's necklace.
