In the main hallway of the school.

McKayla was walking down the hall and sees Chase in his locker, she walks up to him.

McKayla takes a deep breath "Hi Chase!" McKayla smiles gently, Chase closes the locker with his eyes wide with nervousness "Mc- McKayla hi" Chase says.

McKayla frowns, Chase's unusual nervousness was making her worried, it seems like he's hiding something, but what. Chase smiles nervously "Okay see you later" Chase tries to leave, he doesn't like his behavior either but around her he just freaks out.

"Wait!" McKayla says, Chase looks at her again and takes a deep breath"Is everything okay?" McKayla asks "Everything's...great, I'm great" Chase says.

"Are you sure? Because I feel like you've been avoiding me these last few weeks" McKayla says "No! I would never avoid you, it's just that I've been really busy" Chase scratches the back of his head.

"with what?" McKayla says trying to start a conversation "Uh I've been working on projects with Mr Davenport, and because of that I've been...working a lot" Chase says blushing he tries to sound less nervous.

McKayla raises her eyebrows showing interest in the subject "You know, he and I have a lot in common so we work well as a team..." Chase says, looking away from her so he can try to talk normally without thinking too much.

"That's great, I'm glad to know you're spending time with your dad" McKayla says pleasantly with a smile.

All the kindness and delicacy she conveys makes Chase melt inside, and this is visible in the slight awkward smile on the corner of his lip, and the sparkle in his eyes when he slightly tilts his head to look at her.

McKayla presses her lips shyly at the way he looks at her "So...speaking of projects, I was wondering if you'd like to be my partner in the project we are going to do on the trip we're taking wednesday to the Mission Creek museum?" McKayla asks, feeling anxious about his answer.

Chase smiles "Your partner? On a school trip? You mean like...sit next to you on the bus and stuff?" Chase asks playing with his fingers, McKayla frowns "yeah, pretty much, we'll also need to write a report at the end of the trip and deliver it to the teacher" McKayla says.

McKayla sighs "So what do You say?" McKayla asks again "uh...sure" Chase tries to sound casual, McKayla feels a relief "Cool, see you then" McKayla smiles, and leaves "See you!" Chase chuckles nervously as she leaves.

When she enters the cafeteria Chase bites his lip containing the smile "Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!" Chase says to himself, celebrating by jumping up and down with a smile.

A group of students look at him strangely "She wants to go on the school trip with me!! With. Me!!" Chase tells them excitedly, with a smile from one ear to the other, they nod at him not really caring.

Chase stops jumping and clears his throat "As expected" Chase tells them he tries to maintain a firm posture adjusting his shirt.

Later in the lab.

Adam, Bree and Chase return from a mission, Chase seems happy.

"Great mission guys, nothing like saving a runaway subway full of people to end the day well" Chase sighs, putting away his gear.

Bree and Adam look at each other confused "sure" Bree says sarcastically "You're very happy today, huh?" Adam says.

"Since you noticed, yes I'm. Since I'm spending the whole day with McKayla on the school trip tomorrow" Chase says "wait what?" Bree smiles, "Yeah, didn't I mention? She asked me to be her partner on the project, then I'll be her trip partner!!" Chase says with an excited smile.

"Chase this is amazing!" Bree says "Yeah man, I mean I still don't see what she sees in you but I'm happy for you!" Adam pats him on the shoulder.

Chase sighs dreamily "She's so incredible and pretty..." Chase leans on the table and looking away with a twinkle in the eye.

"Aw it's so cute to see you in love" Bree smiles gently, Adam laughs, Chase's eyes widen "I'm not in love" Chase says "yes you are" Adam and "No, I just like her...I don't" Chase says shyly.

"Chase, why don't you ask her out on a date?" Bree says, Chase gets up from the table "No!" Chase says, he feels anxious, he feels scared about asking her out on a date.

Not that he doesn't want to, he wants to, a lot. But he's afraid of ruining everything, he doesn't know what to do on a date and due the fact that McKayla has had a crush on him for a while, he is afraid that her expectations of a possible date with him are too high and he will not be able to achieve them, and he does not know how far a date can go and this worries him.

"Why not? I'm sure she's waiting for you to ask her out on a date!" Bree says, Chase swallows hard "I'm not going to ask her on a date" Chase says scared "Why not? Are you scared?" Adam says "I'm not scared!" Chase says irritated walking away from them.

"It's just, I don't know how...and if she says yes, what's next?" Chase says nervously "You take her somewhere nice and then..." Bree says, Chase looks at Bree anticipating the end of the sentence, Adam laughs "Aaww our Chasey is afraid of having his first kiss" Adam smirk.

Chase shakes his head in embarrassment "Of course not!" Chase says, he blushes "You don't need to be afraid of that Chase, if it happens I'm sure it will be perfect" Bree puts her hand on his shoulder, Chase feels chills thinking about the possibility of this happening.

"I'm not scared and I'm not going to kiss her!" Chase says, he feels the heat on his face, Adam chuckles "Aw Chase and McKayla sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-S-S-S-I-N-G." Adam sings, Chase looks at him blushing even more, Bree laughs "there aren't that many S's in Kissing" Bree says "There is if they do it for a long time!" Adam sings.

"Stop! I'm not going to kiss her!" Chase says nervously "Oh but are you going to tell us that you don't want to?" Bree smirk "No!" Chase says shy, Adam scoffs, Bree notices his fear and tries to reassure him.

"Chase it's okay if you don't feel prepared, these things take time, you will know when the right moment" Bree puts her hand gently on his shoulder

The next day, McKayla and Caitlin are walking through the school hallways.

McKayla watches Chase talk to Adam and Leo on the bench in the hallway.

"I don't know, I don't like this" McKayla says thoughtfully "What?" Caitlin says "Don't you think Chase has been acting weird lately?" McKayla asks.

Caitlin scoffs "to me he never even acted normal" Caitlin says "Cait, I'm serious, we used to hang out and talk all the time, but now every time I approach him It looks like he's going to run away or whatever" McKayla says worried.

"Oh Mack trust me, all boys are like that...you wouldn't believe how many of them have already run away from me" Caitlin says "Let's talk about those who didn't run from you, to make it easier" McKayla says, Caitlin looks at her irritated.

"And that...it seems like he's hiding something from me" McKayla says "Maybe you just make him nervous" Caitlin says "why? Why would I suddenly make him nervous?" McKayla asks.

Caitlin shrugs "You see? There's something more to this story..." McKayla says, she sees Chase heading towards the library alone "And I'm going to find out what it is" McKayla says going after him.

"Okay but hurry up, the trip bus leaves in an hour!" Caitlin screams "Got It!" McKayla says from afar, Caitlin rolls her eyes.

Chase usually goes to the library between classes where everyone including the librarian is in the cafeteria, he has kept a goal of reading all the books in the library.

Chase was putting some books back that he had taken off the shelves in release order, since he finds the library organization a mess, he organizes it himself.

McKayla sneaks into the library, she noticed that he always comes to the library at this time and as she is already suspicious of him, she saw it as an opportunity to get clues, she hides behind a bookshelf.

Chase mutters the book release dates to himself as he organizes them, McKayla frowns "Okay, here it is..."' Chase says to himself, dusting off the shelf and putting the book back.

McKayla smiles watching him, he's so careful with everything he does, she really admires that, she bites her thumbnail with a kind smile.

Chase puts his hands on his hips and sighs, looking at the shelf proudly, until he notices a book in the wrong place "What the...? Uhg!" Chase complains, taking the book off the shelf.

Chase looks up from the high shelf where that book should be and sighs impatiently, looking for the ladder so he could reach so high on the shelf but the ladder had broken and was being repaired.

Chase quickly looks around and uses his molecular kinesis to take the book to the last shelf of the bookshelf, McKayla's eyes widen, scared and confused, Chase adjusts the books on the shelf with molecular kinesis.

McKayla gasps, scared trying to understand how that is possible, she puts her hand in front of her mouth to stop herself from making noise and walks backwards and ends up knocking a lamp on a table.

McKayla closes her eyes in frustration and Chase looks in the direction of the noise, McKayla comes out from behind the bookshelf, eyes wide "Chase?!" McKayla says, Chase looks at her and drops the books "McKayla?!" Chase says scared, McKayla looks at him scared.

"Uh...Is there any chance you haven't seen this??!" Chase says nervously "I-I don't even know what I just saw!" McKayla says, Chase shakes his head in fright and the bell rings, when he sees the library door open Chase goes to her.

"Stay away!" McKayla says in fear "I just want to talk!" Chase says as he holds her by the arm and leads her to the back of the library as other students enter "Let go of me!" McKayla says, Chase covers her mouth "Shhh! McKayla calm down, it's just me!" Chase says.

Chase takes her to the last and darkest shelves of the library, he holds her arm tightly and puts her against a shelf "Don't freak out!" Chase says, McKayla nods scared as he covers her mouth.

"Promise you won't scream?" Chase says, McKayla looks into his eyes and nods "Okay" Chase sighs and removes his hand from covering her mouth, but he keeps holding her arms, McKayla breathes anxiously and confused.

"What are you?" McKayla says softly, Chase is close enough that she can feel his breath on her face, he looks her in the eyes, it was supposed to be a situation where he would feel nervous but he has more important matters to worry about now.

"Look, what you saw is something you should never have seen" Chase says "And what did I saw, Chase? Tell me!" McKayla says impatiently "That was molecular kinesis, a... bionic ability" Chase closes his eyes as he says.

"What?" McKayla says loudly "Shhh!" Chase says "I'm sorry" McKayla says softly "I...I'm Bionic" Chase says his hands relax as they hold her arms "A what?" McKayla asks.

"I'm a bionic super human generically engineered with superhuman abilities that I use to protect the world" Chase says, McKayla frowns trying to understand everything.

"Me, Adam and Bree have bionic chips that give us these abilities, Adam has super strength, Bree has super speed and I have super intelligence" Chase says quickly.

Chase chuckles smugly "I'm actually the smartest guy in the world" Chase says, McKayla frowns "This is crazy...although it explains a lot" McKayla says "I know Mack, but I need you to trust me, and I need to know that I can trust you" Chase says worried.

McKayla shakes her head in confusion "No one can know this, if anyone finds out it's likely that mine, Adam and Bree's fate will be in a government facility, McKayla please...can I trust you?" Chase asks calmly as his hands slowly slide towards her shoulders, he doesn't even realize he's doing it.

McKayla takes a deep breath "Of course you can trust me but....I still have a lot of questions" McKayla says "and I promise you I'll explain everything, but right now I just want you to understand this" Chase says, he continues involuntarily stroking her arms.

"I can try" McKayla chuckles softly, Chase smiles in relief, this relief in the mood gave Chase space to realize what he was doing, McKayla looks up at him with a soft twinkle in her eyes, feeling butterflies in her stomach practically breathing the same air as him.

Chase begins to slowly release her arms without breaking eye contact with her, which by the way is the longest he has maintained since he met her, he feels an agitation that he needs to contain throughout his body, causing rapid breathing.

McKayla gives a slight smile on the corner of her lip when suddenly the librarian appears "Hey!" The librarian says, Chase quickly moves away from McKayla "This is not the place for that, you should be in class!" The librarian says irritated.

Chase laughs nervously "We were just talking" Chase says "Oh don't try to fool me cutie, I know very well what kind of conversation you two were having" the librarian says "What? No!" Chase quickly looks at McKayla blushing and she laughs gently.

The librarian crosses her arms "We don't..." Chase laughs nervously "We're already leaving" McKayla pushes Chase "After all, we don't want to miss the trip" McKayla says taking Chase out of the library.

"Don't forget to catalog the books by date like I suggested!" Chase says before leaving to the librarian who rolls her eyes at him.

On the trip bus.

Chase and McKayla sat together on the bus as planned, and during the trip Chase began to tell her about his bionics.

"wow this is a lot to process" McKayla says "I know" Chase says "So you, Adam and Bree are..." "Yes" Chase says looking around "What about Leo?" McKayla asks, Chase laughs.

McKayla frowns "Oh you asked a serious question, no, he's just an ordinary boy" Chase says "Okay then, I can't deny that... that's really cool" McKayla smiles, Chase shrugs convinced.

In a way, telling her the truth gives him a sense of renewal, a new beginning with her, being one hundred percent himself, he just hopes she still likes him knowing who he totally is.

"So, that magic show wasn't magic" McKayla says "Nope" Chase says "and that time you pinned my brother on the table when you got to school..." "It was a Commando app, a type of bionic defense application" Chase explains "Oooh!" McKayla chuckles.

Chase sighs "I'm glad I can finally tell you this" Chase says, McKayla looks at him "You have no idea how long I've wanted to tell you this" Chase gives a gentle smile.

"Serious?" McKayla says "Yeah you're one of the most important people in my life and the only one who didn't know that" Chase says,McKayla puts her hair behind her ear looking at him "I...am I one of the important people in your life?" McKayla asks in a soft voice.

Chase slowly looks at her "Mm-hm" Chase nods his head blushing, McKayla feels as if her heart doubles in size as she looks into his sparkling eyes.

"You too" McKayla says softly, Chase looks away shyly "So, is there any other bionic rule that I don't know about?" McKayla giggles.

Chase's eyes widen slightly "Well...actually" Chase thinks "what?" McKayla asks "the thing is, you can't tell anyone that you know this... including Adam, Bree and Leo" Chase says.

"Wait what?" McKayla asks confused "If they find out that I ended up using bionics in front of you, I'll be the one who broke our bionic secret" Chase turns to her.

"As a mission leader I should be the one who takes the security of this secret most seriously, they would never respect me again, Mr Davenport would perhaps not even trust me as a mission leader anymore" Chase says worried.

McKayla nods "Are you saying we have a secret about the secret?" McKayla raises her eyebrow, Chase presses his lips together to remain serious and nods.

"Look Chase, in those moments when you feel like you can't trust anyone else in the entire world, I can assure you that you can trust me" McKayla says with a lightness in her voice that calms Chase down just by the sound.

Chase smiles "Thank you" Chase says quietly "are you going to show me all your bionic abilities?" McKayla says with a smirk "Uh...sure, I guess you'll find out eventually" Chase says scratching the back of his head.

McKayla smiles and slowly lays her head on his shoulder, Chase remains still at first, she sighs placing her head on his shoulder, Chase smiles and rests his head on hers and they stay like that throughout the trip.

Chase telling her everything about his bionics made him overcome all the nervousness he felt around her, Unblocked him so he could talk to her again like he used to.

Although he didn't feel like he used to, he felt different, he still felt nervous, but the nervousness was the fluttering feeling in his stomach and the racing heart that he was getting used to.

Making him believe that if everything with her continues to go well, he would have the courage to ask her out, but he also realizes how things just flow with her, maybe that will happen eventually in such a fluid and natural way that he won't even notice.

That goes for a date as much as a kiss, Chase thinks as he wets his bottom lip and watches McKayla rest on his shoulder and hold his arm.
