"How about the pool? For a pool party?"

"You set that place on fire"

"How about the zoo? They have this really cool safari thing,"

"We're not going to a zoo,"

"Ok how about the gym?"

"Radiation poisoning,"

"The park?"

"Explosion,"

"The other park,"

"Two sprained wrists and a fractured ankle,"

"You know it's kind of hard to come up with ideas when you keep shutting them down,"

I simply shrugged. Alex was still hung up on her big sendoff idea so we met up at Dani's to try and tolerate her new obsession.

"Yeah Erica I thought we said no bad ideas, " Adil chastised

"It's not my fault that you have been banned from literally everywhere," I stated

Alex gave me a look "Ok banned is a strong word, think of it as me being asked to politely exit and never return"

"Tell that to the restraining order," Ty interjected

"You mean restraining orders"

"Whose side are you on?" Alex asked

I grinned "I am on no one's side but my own"

She just answered with a glare

"Well someone has to be neutral"

"And that's us, the neutral team," Ty interjected grinning.

Alex rolled her eyes and opened her mouth to begin talking when Adil interrupted her

"Where did Dani and Joey go?" he asked

We all looked around and noticed that Dani and Joey were gone, probably off somewhere enjoying themselves ... lucky. Just then the door opened and Stephanie (Dani's little siste)walked in,

"Foods ready, " she said shortly

"You could've knocked," Alex commented from where she was sitting

"That's right," she said "I could've" she finished before walking out of the door

Alex muttered something under her breath along the lines of brat and little twerp. I on the other hand was hungry so I ran downstairs the smell of barbeque getting stronger until I reached downstairs where Dani and Joey were talking ... well more like arguing.

I sighed, Dani and Joey had never gotten along the best out of all of us but ever since junior year it had taken a turn for the worse. They couldn't last five minutes without descending into some type of argument. I didn't mind, as long as I hung out with them separately.

But at times like these when we all hung out as a group, their personalities would always clash and they never seemed to agree on anything which made being with the both of them extremely tiring.

"There you guys are ," Adil said walking down the stairs "Why'd you just leave like that?"

"Well I was helping my dad outside , Joey just left because she was bored," Dani explained

Joey didn't say anything just looked back at Dani looking like she wanted to retort, before she could I spoke up

"Could you call the others down here Addy, food's been ready for a while," I said

He muttered under his breath , probably about how he resented to being called Addy but went upstairs anyway.

After eating we went outside and sat on the lawn chairs decorating the porch, the sun was beginning to set and we were all just marveling while Ty was listening to music through his headphones

"You know this whole thing is stupid right," Joey said cutting though the silence

"What?" I asked

"This whole 'sendoff thing'," she continued "It's cringy and it's stupid frankly no one cares how we impact or whatever 'cause it's not going to matter,"

"Yeah it is" Alex interjected "We're all gonna be separated after senior year don't you care? All I wanna do is make sure we have one last memorable memory before we all go?"

"The whole thing is just unnecessary and to be honest I really wouldn't mind not seeing some of you again," Joey said not looking at us just staring straight in front of her

"I would definitely not mind seeing you ever again Johanna," Dani said glaring at Joey

"What's your problem Daniella?" Joey retorted now facing Dani

"My problem? What the hell is yours?"

"You guys should really stop," Adil started but Joey and Dani were only just beginning. I would have done something to stop them but it was better to just let them burn out instead of entering the flames, it would have been better to just sit on the sidelines

"You just never know when to shut up do you?"

"Me? You're the one who's always running your mouth,"

"You bit-"

"Could you guys shut up! Some of us up here have exams that they don't feel like failing," Stephanie shouted from her room

She was ignored.

"You know what your problems are but you're to much of a scared bitch to admit it, "

"Just shut up Dani, you are no better than me so acting like it. You're as much of a scared bitch as I am ,"

"Well maybe if you just told-"

"Enough! Both of you," Adil shouted . I almost jumped out of my seat and so did Alex, it was rare that Adil actually raised his voice in fact the only time I've ever seen him shout was either when he was playing basketball or extremely angry. Right now it was probably the latter. Dani and Joey had stopped arguing at this point and they were now glaring at each other with Adil in the middle of them. Joey scoffed giving Dani a scathing look before marching down the street.

"Are you sure we should let her leave alone it's gonna get dark really soon and they mention on the news about a serial killer..." I pointed out looking at Joey's retreating figure.

"I'll go after her, I'll see you guys tomorrow" Adil said beginning to run after Joey

I actually jumped this time as the front door slammed, Dani most likely being the cause of it. I looked around at my remaining two friends and noticed that Alex was biting her lip which meant that she was thinking deeply about something and that Ty was asleep... lazy ass. I walked over to his chair slowly placing my hands on his shoulder and violently shaking him awake, causing him to wake up abruptly a glare at me once he did.

"Time to go people," I said motioning to Ty and Alex.

We got up and began walking down towards Alex's house first,

"I can't help but feel that that whole argument was my fault," Alex said her eyes downcast

"You're totally right it was ," I agreed

"One hundred percent," Ty commented

"You guys are terrible people," Alex sighed

"That's just the job of the neutral team," I said high fiving Ty

It was obvious she didn't take the joke

"But don't worry , I'm pretty sure those two had a lot of pent up anger between them," I reassured

She nodded and faced Ty

"Do you think this is a bad idea?" she asked

"It's an idea that's for sure," he smirked

"Not helping," she scolded

He sighed "I love it ok don't worry about them, as Erica said they're always arguing about something. It was bound to happen"

Alex nodded as she turned to me

"Was that thing you said about the serial killer true?"

"I dunno," I said shrugging "I mean there might be, who knows,"

"Shut up"

We walked to down the street to my house first and before I went inside Alex stopped me and asked me a question

"Do you think everything's going to be okay?"

"Everything is going to be fine ok, trust me" I replied

"Are you sure?" she asked

"Positive"

She nodded and Ty and her said goodbye before walking off

Everything was definitely going to be ok.

It had to be.
