Alek Hunt Part 3
Aleki: I was never a fan of the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, or any other members of The Elite, except Cody. I always asked myself, "Who the hell do they think they are? They're saying that they're more superior than everyone else as we're trying to pay our dues and work hard to put food on the table for our families?" I could tell in Cody's eyes that he looked happy being around them, but he wasn't in on calling himself "Elite". He looked like he was forced into the group itself.
Ali: Aleki looked upset whenever those jackasses were out there instead of us, and he had every right to be! I was gonna go out there and take out Kenny, but I knew Aleki needed it more than anyone else in Bullet Club, so I let him go out there and do his thing.
*footage of Aleki going off on Kenny Omega after his match, before giving Omega the PYT
Alek (in footage): Let me ask you something Kenneth, what the actual hell is The Elite! If you wanna be a leader for Bullet Club, then you gotta start acting like it because if you don't, that group full of [...] you got as friends? They'll drag you down more than you'll ever know!
Alek keeps going, as he continues to verbally insult Kenny.
Alek (in footage): You either be the leader for Bullet Club, or you be the leader for the so-called "Elite"! What is it gonna be!*
Aleki: I made sure that everyone got the message from the Bulletin Club OGs, to The Elite. They were taking the spotlight that was rightfully ours. They've been hogging it ever since I came into the fold, and I wanted to wrong that right, but before we got into it, we have to talk about my beginnings in New Japan.
*footage of Aleki's early success in Bullet Club*
Aleki: The very first Championship in New Japan was the NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Championships with Ali and Tev. To me, I considered it a huge deal, mainly because I get to spend the title reign with my cousins.
Ali: I consider that as well. I mean, he was still new in wrestling and was a rookie, but he more than made up for it with learning shit on the fly and improving as he went, and before you know it, he started talking trash in the mic!
Aleki: My promo style is if you mixed Jim Cornette with some of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's style. I wanted everyone to listen, whether they liked it or not. I also took inspiration from NWA, Biggie, the film franchise from Japan called High&Low, it really brought to life the character I wanted to portray while infusing some of my own personal experiences.
Hana (footage from 2019; subtitles): Aleki-chan really wanted to stand out from his Bullet Club stablemates and be very much unpredictable that you never knew what he was gonna say next. He can really talk trash and just set everyone off, but there was one incident that almost took New Japan off the network.
Aleki: It was one day, I had been to the dentist to where my mouth was sore to where I could barely talk. I looked to Hana, who would go to some of my shows as I go to hers, and I said, "Let's go to the New Japan store." I went inside, bought a Kenny Omega Bullet Club shirt with my own money, drove back to the arena, and got a trash can. And in the ring, without saying a word, I lit the t-shirt on fire, and dropped it in the trash can where it burned to a crisp, and the Japanese fans were like, "Get the hell outta here, you [...]ing ass[...]!"
Ali: Aleki got people so mad at the Bullet Club OGs, New Jack could've walked through the curtain and he'd have been a babyface!
Aleki: I pissed fans the hell off, and I had gotten the Bullet Club so much hate that everyone saw the Elite as the good guys when in reality, I was foreseeing the future on where the group was headed. They were gonna become the people they despise to be, and that's letting all the money and fame go to their heads.
Producer: Would you call your first few years living in Japan as fun and exciting?
Aleki: No, I can't say it was that. I mean, when you go to Japan, as a foreigner, and the first thing they call you is "baka gaijin", or "idiot foreigner" in Japanese, that's the one thing that has hurt me the most. I told some friends I made over time that I couldn't get used to this shit then, and I can't get used to this shit now. Even though it's been years since then, it still affects me, knowing how many times I had to put up with it.
Ali: Aleki always needed someone to talk to, and while he looked happy being out in the ring and wrestling, outside of it, he's the exact opposite. He'd keep to himself and just spend time with his girlfriend, and there are times where I start crying because the time he spent in Japan was affecting him.
Hana (footage from 2019; subtitles): Aleki-chan was sensitive to the amount of bullying that comes his way, and he's such a sweetheart. Like, nobody could ever talk shit about how sweet he is, and yet he's been talked down upon. That was when I started to have him confide in me because he needed someone to talk to when not wrestling.
Tev: Having Hana in his life was a huge blessing, man, because she was the reason Aleki managed to find his footing after transitioning from NOAH to New Japan and not only that, while he lived in Japan for almost half a decade now, he was still struggling to get used to the life, living in a foreign country, so for Hana to help him and be a text or a call away, especially when they were a couple at the time, it really helped him grow.
Aleki: At that time, my relationship with Hana had deepen to where when I was doing a shoot promo on The Elite. There were some things about Japan was going to be an insult to the country, even if I was a heel. I had to talk to Hana about it all and she said that she didn't care as long as I struck a chord within the fans' feelings. She told me that she wasn't—
*Feeling emotion from that part of his career and life in New Japan, Aleki covers his face with both hands while his leaning his head back. After a moment, he uncovers his face and continues.*
Aleki (choking up): That she wasn't gonna leave me and she still loved me no matter what. What made it even better was that she didn't want to know what the promo was. Looking back on that part of my life, it just told me that this sweetheart of an angel was never gonna break up with me over something I was gonna say as an asshole heel, even if it sounded controversial. I mean, I met Kyoko-san, Hana's mother before that, especially the entire family, so I didn't want to be rude or disrespectful in any way, shape, or form.
Kyoko: I was aware of Aleki-kun's relationship to my daughter and I was not okay with it at first, but when I saw them together for the first time and how respectful and caring he was to her, including the stories she had told me, I knew he was the one for her. He deserved everything that he earned, including my respect.
Arata: What made the relationship of Aleki-chan and Hana-chan special was that he never took advantage of her and always saw her as priceless. He loved her so much, probably more than anything else in the world...
*pictures of Hana and Aleki spending time together*
...that he never cursed around her or any other woman he's around. He curses when he's wrestling, but outside of the ring, he keeps that down. That's what made me respect him even more. He's not just a badass inside the ring, he's a badass outside of it.
Aleki: I never liked it when guys curse around women, so I like to keep it down whenever I'm around girls, just out of respect and not trying to be a ignorant a-hole, you know? The same can go for Hana throughout that time because she was a priceless girl then and she's a priceless girl now, even if she's not here anymore.
Yuria: Everyone had said that Hana and Aleki's relationship was something straight out of Disney movie, but I like to think of it as something out of fairy tale. They were so close together.
Producer: Are you okay with Aleki talking about Hana, even if you're his girlfriend now?
Yuria: Hai. I give him permission in interviews like this and let him tell some stories from that. I aware of how special the relationship was and I was in Oedo Tai with Hana at one point, so I know how special she was and he allowed to talk about Hana and himself whenever he feel like it.
Aleki: Yuria Tauchi, Tam Nakano...
...very sweet girl and just an all around beautiful woman, I'm very happy to be in a relationship with her. Hana will always have a place in my heart, even if she's passed on, because what happened then would break me in half, and that was when Yuria and I's friendship would eventually begin, and it would deepen over time.
