Alek Hunt Part 1

*At the beach house of Aleki Anoa'i, Aleki sits down in his chair and looks to get the interview started*

Producer: To get started, what is your full name?

Aleki: Aleki Sika Agatupu Anoa'i.

Producer: Who is Aleki Anoa'i?

Aleki: The baby of the family, especially when he was considered an abomination to the Samoan dynasty in wrestling, as that was when he became Alek Hunt, "The Ultimate Assassin".

Producer: Who is Alek Hunt?

Aleki: From the figmant of my imagination, but there were real life elements of myself in that character. Not only that, he was the unluckiest guy in the world before now, and he's happy.

Alek (in footage): Everything you see in me is real! I'm not a fake like those entertainers in the company who claims to be like Disney World of wrestling! I'm not an entertainer! I! AM! A! [...]ING! WRESTLER!

Sika (from 2021): He was a prodigy who brought a different aura to the game.

Leati: So charismatic, so good at talking, just as he is in the ring.

Alek (in footage): You used to be so likable backstage, humble and very outgoing, you used to be a badass, but now, you're nothing but a bitch because an out-of-touch old man had wet dreams about you!

*footage of Aleki ambushing Rock and then going off on him*

Alek (in footage): Yeah, call me Chef Alek because I just put Great Value Popeye in the oven and it was delicious! And that move you call the Rock Bottom, it's a Uranage, so...

Ali: His ability to talk shit was remarkable and he could back it up too. He's a badass!

*compilation of Aleki performing a missile dropkick and then the devil horns onto opponents*

Tev: Of course, he wouldn't have made it without some success and without some hardships.

Josh (Jey): The family didn't want him in the family. They wanted to kiss Leati's backside more than Aleki because they thought Leati was more successful than Aleki ever was.

Leati: When Matthew passed, he thought he lost his role model. He looked up to Matthew so much and it was something that hurt him deeply.

Aleki: I wanted to make my family proud so much, but of course, they preferred Leati over myself, and it wasn't the only thing that hurt me.

*footage of Aleki crying at Hana Kimura's funeral, with pictures being shown*

Kyoko: When Hana passed away, he gone off to deep end, and it was heartbreaking to see.

*Kyoko covers her mouth as her eyes water, as she looks back on the time Aleki tried to kill himself to reunite with Hana*

Kyoko (voice cracking): I love this boy.

Yuria: He try to kill himself to reunite with her because he deeply missed her and wanted to be with her once again. Mental health is a serious issue and that what Japan fail to realize at that time.

Arata (subtitles): There were times where I could look into his eyes where he felt like he wanted to die. Aleki was suicidal at that point and he was still hurting, four years after my sister's passing.

Aleki: She died in front of me. That's a memory that will never go away, and nobody will ever understand how it was at that time.

Commentator 1: 今、新日本プロレスで最も万能なレスラーの一人!「究極の暗殺者」、アレク・ハント! (One of the most versatile wrestlers in New Japan right now! "The Ultimate Assassin", Alek Hunt!)

JR: Alek Hunt, he is a dangerous man, tougher than a two dollar steak!

Alek (in footage): If you like me, I'll f**k with ya, but if you don't like me, to hell with ya! Real simple!

Aleki: This is my story, and I'm gonna tell it like it is.

Aleki: I was born in Pensacola, Florida, April 16th, 1992, and we lived in a 3 compartment room house, three bedroom, one bathroom. It was tough, but my parents made it work. However, I was considered different in my family. I always had trouble, you know, talking to people: social issues, and I was that shy of a person.

Leati: Aleki always thought he wasn't good enough, and I will admit, I took advantage of his insecurity. I was that asshole. We are reunited as brothers now, but to look back on it, it's actually quite sad.

Vanessa: I hated what Leati was doing to Aleki, because he wanted to be accepted and to know what was going on now, it was something I never even knew about.

Matty (from 2012): Aleki is my baby brother, and I loved him, even then. He wanted to be with me, his oldest brother, you know?

Aleki: I always looked up to Matt. He was my role model, and I still consider him as that because back then, when my dad had to go wrestle with Uncle Afa, Matt was the one who would hang with me and we would watch our dad and Uncle Afa wrestle. I knew I was born to do this at an early age, but I had to learn how to do it. So, for starters, I took up some MMA, to get some experience, even though I played baseball and football in my junior and senior year in high school.

Vanessa: Aleki was so good at baseball, but football was his niche. He would play a lineman as the coaches never took him seriously.

Aleki: During a practice, the coach would belittle me, saying that I'm nothing like Leati, who was becoming more popular in school. I didn't take that, because I wanted to fit in and try to be like my family members, but of course, they preferred Leati over me.

Leati: I personally had a problem with that, not the popularity part, more so with the coach. I told him personally, "If you don't put my brother in a game and see how far he can go, then I will report you to the administrator." I did say that, because I saw potential in Aleki. I really wanted him to play. The coach, he knew I wasn't bullshitting because sure enough, he gave Aleki a chance, and he proved him wrong.

Aleki: No, I didn't know Leati convinced the coach to let me prove myself and let me play, but knowing now, it really told me that my own family really did care about me. It was only after a few seasons that I thought I wanted to try something else and that was when I got into MMA. I took it seriously, and I wanted it to be a form of meditation, to help me find some balance and, you know, have something to do to keep myself busy after school and whatnot.

Matty (from 2012): After High School, Aleki, in 2011, he decided to join up in wrestling, because he wanted to give it a try.

Leati: I was all for Aleki getting into wrestling, and just to know how much he loved it with our dad getting into it, it was really cool.

Aleki: I asked my dad if I could join Leati and become a wrestler like him at the WWE Performance Center, for a tryout. He said, "Little Alek", that was my nickname, "Little Aleki, I can see the passion and the love you have for wrestling and you're super athletic, but Leati is the one to carry one the Anoa'i name".

Matty (from 2012): I thought that pissed me off. You can't tell a passionate young man like Aleki, who wants to wrestle and be just like his brother that he's not worthy of carrying on the history of the Samoan Dynasty after Leati retires.

Aleki: I thought it was a slap in the face. I told him, "Are you serious? Leati has a diagnosis in the form of Leukemia, and that could end his career at any point, so how hard is it to pass on the torch to me as well?" We got into a big argument and Leati did nothing to defend me. Instead, he defended dad.

Aleki starts to rub his face as he starts to get frustrated.

Aleki: I could tell that they were meaning what they said, so, in early 2014, I packed my things, some clothes, personal belongings, and I left for Japan, and this is where we set the stage for what would be considered the best time of my life as my career would get started from there.
