  "Because I want to prove to Blake that Enrique is not the right guy for her" - Jake

ENRIQUE's POV

I woke up with empty arms. I immediately sat up and the first thing I noticed was she wasn't beside me nor anywhere inside our room. I looked down and I frowned when I couldn't get a glimpse of her clothes on the floor. I got up from the bed and went to the walk-in closet to check if she's there but there wasn't any trace of her. I went out of our room and searched for her around but she really wasn't around. Panic was starting to arise in me.

I felt like my knees lost their strength as I slowly slumped down the floor. She left me! She left me again for the second time! The anger suddenly started to boil inside me. I couldn't believe that after that talk with Blake, she still left me. My fist tightened and because of anger, I punched the floor with my bare hands. Damn it Blake! Why?!

I picked up my phone and dialed her number but I couldn't reach her. She obviously turned off her phone. I decided to take a quick bath and went out of my penthouse even though I didn't eat my breakfast. I got in my car and drove off to Blake's apartment. When I arrived there, I quickly went inside the lift and pressed the 3rd floor button, silently wishing for her to be there.

When I reached her floor, I stepped out the elevator with long strides. I knocked on her door but there wasn't a response. I knocked again and this time I called for her name but no one opened the door. I tried for how many minutes until I finally realized that she wasn't there.

I heaved a sigh and decided to leave with slow steps, shoulders slumped with disappointment. When I reached my car, I didn't drive right away. I just stared into oblivion while thinking about Blake again. Am I just nothing to you Blake? Why is it so easy for you to leave me? Is it that hard to just stay beside me and love me?

I took out my phone from my pocket and dialed Kent's number.

"Hello Kent. I want you to find Blake right now. Ask anyone who could have seen her. Do anything to trace where she could be right now" I ordered to him right away when he answered.

"Okay sir. I'll try to find her through her friends" he said. I thanked him and then hang up.

After I talked to Kent, I just stayed there for a couple more minutes, just staring blankly into space and still thinking about Blake. Then I started the car and drove to the last place I know she could go.

When I reached her mom's place, I reluctantly knocked at the front gate. Donna was the one who opened the gate for me upon seeing me.

"Mrs. Greene is just finished showering. Just wait for her to come down. I already informed her about you" She said when we reached the living room. I looked around and there was no sign of Blake.

"Donna, is Blake here?" I asked her.

"No sir. She didn't come here" I groaned inwardly with disappointment. I looked at her intently, trying to see if she was lying to me but she seemed not. She looked puzzled as she was about to leave me sitting on the couch at the living room when we heard Mrs. Greene's voice.

"Hello Enrique. What brings you here? Where is my daughter?" She said and looked at me quizzically. I stood up and gave a kiss on the cheeks as a greeting. Judging from the way she stares at me with eye brows slightly knitted, she doesn't have any idea where Blake is. I felt worried all of a sudden.

"Good morning Mrs. Greene. Sorry for coming unannounced but I was just hoping to find Blake here" Her eye brows creased and sat beside me. She looked worried all of a sudden.

"She didn't come here. Did you have a fight that's why you couldn't come here for dinner last night?" I looked down at my hands and heaved a sigh.

"I'm sorry we couldn't come for dinner. We just had a little bit of misunderstanding. When I woke up this morning, she wasn't there anymore"

"She texted me a while ago. She was apologizing about the supposedly dinner" I heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing that.

"Can you please call her Mrs. Greene? I couldn't contact her" She smiled at me and pat my shoulder.

"Just call me mom. Mrs. Greene is so formal. You're my daughter's boyfriend after all" I felt overjoyed of what she said. Mixed emotions suddenly rushed inside me and I couldn't help but to hug her.

"Thank you Mrs----Mom" She chuckled with amusement.

"Okay. I will try to call Blake" I watched her as she went to pick up her phone in her room and came back. When she was waiting for Blake to answer her call, I was holding my breath, silently praying for Blake to answer her phone. After a couple or seconds, she answered.

"Hello sweetheart. Where are you?" I heard her mother asked her. I couldn't hear what she replied. I just stayed sitting there as I tried to pick up to their conversation but because I couldn't hear Blake, I just decided to wait for them to finish talking with each other. I wanted to talk to her too and I was getting frustrated.

"Blake sweetie, somebody here wants to talk to you" I suddenly heard her say and handed me her phone. I stared at her and mouthed thank you. She just nodded and smiled at me. I took the phone from her placed it against my ear.

"Blake. It's me. Where are you? Why did you leave without telling me?" I asked her with desperation and worry on my voice. I wanted to yell at her for making me worried like this but I bit my tongue, not wanting to make her hung up on me.

She didn't answer for a couple of seconds. I heard her took a deep breath before she spoke.

"Enrique, don't worry about me. I'm sorry for making you worry. I just need to think" My eye brows knitted and I pinched the bridge of my nose as I closed my eyes. My head suddenly hurt but at the same time, I was thankful that she seemed okay, wherever she is.

"Angel eyes, please come back. You're pregnant. What if something bad happens to you and our baby?" I said trying to be calm and persuade her.

"Don't worry about me. I'm okay. Just go to work"

"Damnit Blake! I don't understand! Why did you have to leave? I thought I already made my point yesterday?" I said through gritted teeth. After our love making last night, I was so sure that we already settled everything. But I am obviously wrong.

"I told you I just need time to think. Don't worry. I'm with Kelly right now. I need to go" Before I could respond to her, she already hang up. Damnation!

I wanted to shout but I controlled my anger. At least she told me that she was with Kelly. I raked my fingers through my hair.

"Don't worry about her Enrique. I know Blake. She just needs some time to think. She'll be back before you know it" She said trying to comfort me. I tried to force a smile and gave back her phone. Then a sudden suspicion appeared in my head that made me furious all of a sudden. She's with Kelly. It means, Jake could be there too. I gritted my teeth with the rising jealousy and anger.

"Thank you for helping me to contact her mom. I need to go" I said. She smiled at nodded her head. After I hugged her, I went out of the house and went to where my car was. I was about to start the ignition when my phone rang. It was Kent.

"Sir. I found Miss Greene. She's in her friend Kelly's house" He informed me.

"Okay. Just continue watching her and report everything that's happening to me" I said with my usual business-like tone.

"Noted sir" I decided not to go there and respect her decision to think. I went to my penthouse and changed into my business suit and then went to the office for an important meeting. If I didn't have these responsibilities, I would've went to Kelly's house right away to pick up Blake.

Kent informed me that Blake and Kelly didn't go out and made me feel at ease.

BLAKE's POV

"Tell me the truth Blake, why did you come here early in the morning?" Kelly asked cautiously. We were in her room and was currently watching a movie. Thankfully, she didn't have anything planned today so we just stayed at her house the whole day. It's already 5pm. She didn't ask me anything this morning about it. Now she couldn't hold her curiosity anymore.

"Nothing. I just want to see you" She rolled her eyes skywards.

"C'mon Blake! I thought we're best friends?" She pouted and I wanted to laugh at her. She looked like a kid but I knew she's just doing it on purpose to make me feel guilty.

I was about to answer her when my phone suddenly rang. It was Enrique again. When I left the penthouse early in the morning, I decided to not talk to him for this entire day but when my mom asked me to talk to someone, I already knew that it was him. I couldn't help but to talk to him. I realized that even though I just left him for just a couple of hours, I already missed him.

I was about to pick my phone up and answer his call when it stopped. I heaved a sigh. When I looked up, I saw Kelly staring at me intently with a serious face.

"It's about Enrique, isn't it?" She asked certainly. I nodded and I bit my bottom lip.

"I knew it! Did he cheat on you?!" I chuckled amusedly and shook my head no. Then I decided to tell her everything. Jake already knew about Enrique's true identity after all.

"He's Quen, Kelly" She looked at me with disbelief as her eyes widened like saucers. When she recollected herself, her eye brows creased.

"What are you saying? Where did you get that idea?"

"It was Jake who initially told me. I confronted Enrique and he confirmed it" I said with a low voice.

"Jake? How did he know about this?" Kelly asked curiously. I told her about everything from when Jake approached me at the park and told me everything until Enrique and I's confrontation last night. She was still shocked after I've told her everything.

"I can't believe this! Now I know why he called me by my name when I first saw him with you" She said, recalling the events at the park when Enrique came to take me home.

"Yes. That time I still didn't know about it"

"But really, how did Jake find out?" Kelly mumbled.

"He said he hired someone" I said and she just shook her head in disbelief. She was about to say something when we heard a knock on the door. Kelly stood up and went towards the door to open it.

"Hello ladies" The visitor said cheerfully.

"What are you doing here?" Kelly asked to her cousin and opened the door wider to let him in. Upon seeing me, Jake's face brightened. He sat on the edge of the bed while his eyes never left mine. I felt uneasy all of a sudden.

"Hello Blake" He greeted and I just smiled and greeted him back. I felt awkward around him after what happened at the park.

"Hey Jake! Can you tell me why did you hire someone to investigate about Enrique's background?" Kelly asked her cousin seriously while still standing in front of us with her hands crossed across her chest.

"Because I want to prove to Blake that Enrique is not the right guy for her" I felt annoyed all of a sudden. He was talking like Enrique is a bad guy. He doesn't even know him.

"Tell me the truth, are you planning to find a reason to break them apart that's why you did that?" Kelly asked Jake bluntly which made Jake's face contorted with anger. He raked his hand through his hair with irritation.

"I just knew that Enrique is not the right guy for Blake the moment I saw him" He said and my eyes turned into slits because of what he said.

"Jake, please don't ever tell that. I love him and we already discussed about this and fixed it" He smirked and looked at me straight into the eyes.

"Really? Then why did you leave him?" He asked which made me scowled at him.

"I didn't leave him! I just want to think" I retorted in anger. Kelly approached me and sat beside me, glaring to Jake.

"Don't tell me you still plan on returning to him after he deceived you? Remember, he is even cheating on you" My brows creased as I stared at him quizzically. How did he find out about that? I looked at him carefully. He looked different than the Jake I used to know whose kind and gentle.

"What? Quen really cheated on you?" Kelly asked exasperatedly.

"No. He didn't" I said sternly and Jake laughed sarcastically.

"He's a cheater Blake, accept it" I heaved a sigh to calm myself. I was growing more irritated with Jake and I wanted to yell at him but I just controlled the urge to do so.

"Please don't tell that to him. We're going to have a baby soon and----"

"You're pregnant?" Kelly and Jake said simultaneously. Kelly looked happy while Jake looked fuming with rage. He stepped forward and was about to approach me but then abruptly stopped.

"Congratulations!" Kelly squealed and hugged me happily.

"Thank you" I said as I hugged her back. From that moment on, Jake didn't speak again. He was just listening to me and Kelly the whole time. He seemed angry and brooding. Kelly asked him what's wrong but he just said 'nothing'. I felt relieved that he stopped. I realized that I really loved Enrique after all that happened. I felt hurt when Jake told me mean things about him.

"I need to go" I said. I wanted to see Enrique as soon as possible and tell him my feelings. To assure him that I already forgive him. Kelly and Jake walked me outside to my car.

"Call me if you need anything" Kelly said and hugged me.

"Thank you Kelly. You're really a true friend" I said and she smiled at me. I looked at Jake.

"Bye Jake" I said simply and was about to get in my car when he suddenly hugged me tightly. I was shocked of what he did. I was about to push him away because he was hugging me tightly when I heard a familiar voice.

"What is the meaning of this?" My body went still.
