Stephano helped Kara fix her hair immediately we alighted the ride. My smile was wide, since I and Kara started giggling while people were screaming at the top of their lungs.

There was this jittery feeling in my stomach, it was really nice.

It was as if the pain from before was never there. I felt calm and even happy. Relaxed. It was a good feeling.

"Where next?" Diego asked, sounding bored.

My hand was still in his and I didn't bother pulling away. It felt nice to just have fun...without being sexually connected to him, of course. My mind drifted to a particular memory I couldn't part with...I shook my head.

That was years back, and it was with a stranger.

"The horror game room." Kara replied.

A group was just leaving and a girl with ginger hair was holding onto a guy's arm. She looked pretty shaken, promoting a chuckle from me. It wouldn't be that bad.

Since we were a group of four and we were the only ones available, we decided to go in together. Kara wasn't as eager as I was because she kept a close distance to Stephano.

I on the other hand, slowly slipped my hand out of Diego's. He didn't even look my way and it was fine. We were told how many rooms were there and given some other details which the staff member thought was necessary.

"This should be fun." I chirped.

"Let's split up. I'll go this way with Kara, I think this is the zombie's house. You'll go that way with Adrian..." Stephano told us while facing Diego.

"Cool." Diego muttered.

I didn't even wait for Diego as I dashed forward as if I usually came here regularly and knew every corner.

There were weird noises, screams and laughter. Some were from far away while some were close by. I found myself chuckling at the incredulity of the whole thing. I wasn't even scared one bit.

I heard a whisper and turned around. My heart skipped a beat when I didn't see Diego.

"Diego?"

"Keep going. Hahahaha!" A deep, entrancing voice spoke before the evil laughter followed.

I laughed a little too. This was all a game, I couldn't get scared.

I moved into another room where two vampires were making out. The lights were all green in here, unlike the hallway lights which were blue. The male vampire bit the female and tore her neck.

Blood splattered everywhere, to my horror. My eyes widened and I tried to hold my breath when the male vampire pushed the female off and sniffed the air. Then he spotted me and started making his way towards me.

Filled with dread, I slammed the door shut and backed away, only to be grabbed by the waist.

My scream filled the air as I struggled from the person without waiting to check who or what it was before running.

Some weird looking creatures were walking on the wall and hissing. It looked like they were naked, I couldn't tell from the lights which was now constantly changing to different colors and I was beginning to freakout.

I dashed into another room. It was empty, except for the wardrobe that was at the left corner and far away from the door.

The door suddenly opened and a harlequin look alike dashed out of it, running towards me with her ear deafening laughter.

I screamed and slammed the door.

I was ready to start running elsewhere when someone grabbed me by the waist.

"Leave me alon-"

"Adrian. It's me, hey." The voice said calmly. Opening my eyes, I turned around to see Diego looking at me with worry in his eyes and a tense aura around him. Relief flooded my bones as I heaved a deep sigh.

I never knew I would crave the presence of someone I had mixed feelings for like I did with Diego but I wrapped my arms around him for a great couple of seconds. I relished in the strong musky scent on him.

"Diego. You're here." I breathed into his chest while he gently patted my forehead. His tense muscles only relaxed a teeny bit.

"I lost you for a second there." He chuckled. I smiled into his grey eyes which were staring at me with a strange warmth that I wasn't used to.

Then his words registered and I replaced the smile with a glare. "You lost me for a couple of seconds? Or you meant to say a couple of minutes?"

"Yeah. I guess. Look at you." He helped me tame my hair which I guessed would now be scattered all over my head from how I'd been running in my frightened state. "Let's go." He said calmly.

I quickly grabbed his hand and didn't even care if we were so close as we kept walking. If it meant I would be safe here, then great. I would gladly go with that.

The hallways was still scary but I wasn't as freaked out as I'd been earlier when I was alone.

"How are you?" He asked softly. My heart skipped a beat again. This time it wasn't because I was scared of any weird looking creature but because butterflies filled my stomach.

"I'm fine." I shrugged.

Diego stopped walking. He tilted my chin up and made me look at him. "You know what I mean. How are you? How is Adrian? You can tell me anything." He enunciated each word with needed emphasis.

I shook my head and looked away. "I've seen better days Diego. It actually hurts a lot and sometimes all I want to do is just cry myself to sleep."

"Very soon, it won't hurt anymore. You'll be perfectly healed right here." He pointed at his chest and gave me a small smile.

"Why?" My voice was small. I couldn't even figure whether he heard me or not, that was until he spoke.

"Why what?"

"Why are you being nice? Being...there?"

"You know the reason." He stated with a frown.

"Oh. You want to fùck me again." I blurted. Diego shut his eyes and clenched his jaws while I stared at him in indifference.

What other reason could it be?

Every guy wanted something in return for something nice they did. That was how I'd learnt to understand the world so far.

Even my late boyfriend had been the perfect man, well except reminding me that we weren't dating and it was just for each other's convenience. We were just having sex.

Whenever Lucas was in the country, every day and in every place, we would have sex. Whenever he was in the mood, of course I must also be in the mood. And with Lucas, I was almost always in the mood because he always knew what to do to constantly put me in the mood.

"Was that what it was to you Adrian? Just a great fùck?" Diego questioned with wide eyes, looking greatly tensed as if I'd just committed a blunder.

I shrugged. "Well, yes. I mean, was there something else to it?"

His eyes shuttered. He cleared every possible emotion that could've been revealed.

"No. There's nothing to it." He stated in a weirdly calm tone. It was confusing. Diego was confusing majority of the time.

And even though I knew there had been nothing to whatever happened between us once, it still hurt to hear him say it.

"Great. Let's go then."

We turned around and headed the other way. I flinched a few times whenever a weird looking creature would approach us but Diego's expression was hard throughout.

We were the first to get out of the horror room and I suggested we get ice cream since Kara and Stephano were still in there.

Diego was quiet all through.

"Why are you quiet?" I asked him.

"I have nothing to say." He ran a hand through his hair and I found myself licking more of the ice cream due to my suddenly dry tongue.

"Wait, what's with the blonde hair?" I'd always said I would ask him that whenever we were alone because Kara was always around and she would have been curious to know why I was asking why Diego's hair was blonde.

He raised a brow and smirked. "You remembered?"

"Yeah..your hair was black that night. Shiny black." I smiled, remembering that night I'd first met him. The first thing that attracted me to him was his eyes and dark, shiny hair. Then he had a really cool personality most of the time that he had been around that night. It gave him this very sensual aura that I certainly couldn't deny even if I tried.

"Well, I dyed it that period. This is my real hair color."

"And the eyes..." I whispered. At one time, I could've sworn his eyes weren't grey and then when I woke up again that same night, they were grey. "Let's take a seat under that shed."

We both took seats under a shed with a Coke banner attached to the side. I dumped the ice cream cup into the waste basket and tucked my hair behind my ear.

"Well I changed my lens. And later took it out."

"Wow. You use lens? How does that feel? I've never used it before but I'm thinking of rocking one very soon." I rambled on.

Diego chuckled. "Lens is pretty normal, I mean you get used to it after a while though it might feel a bit weird at first. You could just get a pair for fashion if you like. Mine used to be recommended."

"You no longer use it?"

"No."

I was a little disappointed but decided not to think much of it. He was using it because it had been recommended after all.

"Kara and Stephano should be out now."

"They are probably making out..." Diego trailed off and looked at me. I slowly looked up to see him giving me a weird look. Yep, he was definitely thinking of something dirty.

"Dirty guy! Let's go back in there." I smacked his shoulder as my cheeks flared and he chuckled.

I got up and began to pull him back towards the horror room to avoid the awkwardness as I tried to ignore the warmness in my cheeks. What had he been thinking of the other time? Kissing me or...

I shook my head to rid the thoughts.

"Wait, where are we going?"

"Seriously? Didn't you hear me earlier on?"

He looked lost. "No?"

I rolled my eyes. He'd just been staring dumbly the whole time. "Let's go back to check Kara and Stephano. They've been gone for a while."

"Woah, no we aren't doing that. You were terrified back in there." Diego pulled his hand away.

I huffed.

"It isn't that scary. Especially now that you're here..." I caught myself in time, realizing I was obviously boosting his ego. "Not that I couldn't have handled it on my own."

"Well maybe you shouldn't handle it on your own." He spoke sternly.

"Okay let's go there together. So I won't have to go there alone."

"No."

"Pretty please? With a scrumptious cherry on top?" I pouted and gave him my most sincere puppy dog look.

Diego frowned. Then I maintained eye contact for a long couple of seconds.

"Ohhh...great! Fine, let's go! I don't like that look very much." He grumbled and dragged me over. I laughed at his words and knew I would be using that look a lot in the future.

We hadn't even gone far into the hallway when I caught the sight of Kara pressed against the wall. One of Stephano's hand was inside her unbuttoned shirt and possibly on one of her breasts.

Kara was making muffled sounds filled with pleasure as he kissed her and I almost rolled my eyes. Intense much?

Stephano was the first to pull away. "Are you still scared?"

His tone was husky.

"No baby." Kara panted and Stephano tried to step away with a satisfied look but Kara pulled him back to her and went for another session of face eating.

I chuckled.

"Ugh. Hello, we singleton are also here. Come on, this is supposed to be a horror game room." I lamented.

I was used catching them making out, and who else would I blame if not Kara?

She couldn't keep her hands to herself. They pulled apart awkwardly though Kara was obviously not satisfied as she kept herself pressed against Stephano like a leech.

Kara looked at me and I could see the annoyance in her eyes. I'd interrupted them after all. She sliced me a harsh glare that made me shiver. I instinctively held Diego's hand tighter and Diego chuckled.

"Since you don't want us to affect you, then keep yourself busy with something too!" Kara finally parted with Stephano and dug her face into his chest. "Let's go."

I could tell her outburst was out of sexual frustration. The realization made me smile in satisfaction.

"You know, you should say 'sorry for keeping you waiting.' Instead of that harsh tone of yours."

Stephano chuckled as they caught up with us and we all left the house together. We decided to have some snacks and just relax for a while.

And we played some more till myself and Kara were obviously satisfied.

"We're going to the beach tomorrow. Join us?" Stephano told Diego as we were leaving the shooting arena where we had just played laser tag.

Diego didn't say anything for a while. Kara shot him a look and he shrugged. "I might have to go somewhere..."

"We want you to come." I butted in slowly. He looked down at me and nodded once. Then smiled.

"Sure. I'll be there."

Kara winked at me and I returned it. Time to go for shopping!
