I'm done with exams. Now to proceed with my books. 😘😍
Diego's POV
*
We left the graduation venue late that day and Kara had left with Stephano while I had to see Adrian's family off to the airport. Let's just say my girl had been an emotional mess when she parted with her family at the airport.
Fast forward to a week and few days later and we're alighting my car, right in front of this five star restaurant. Guess who was suddenly so happy for no apparent reason today that she even asked me out on a date? Yep, my girl.
"I'm paying." She said as the security guard opened the door for us to come in.
"Wh-"
She cut me off with a look that bid no argument. "No Diego, don't argue this one with me. I want to take care of you and you don't have to spend a penny. Tonight, let me handle it."
Take care of me...she didn't know how I wanted her to take care of me but it was okay. I was the one holding out in that aspect. She was ready to take the next step even if I told her I wanted her right now.
"Okay baby." I decided not to argue with her about this and we found a good spot to sit, in a secluded part of the restaurant. Just then, a waiter approached us and greeted, smiling.
I nodded at him while Adrian replied him with a smile of her own.
"What would you like to have sir and ma'am?" He looked from her to me and back to my girl.
Adrian shook her head. "We're yet to go through the menu. Just give us a glass of Dells champagne for now and then we'll call you again in like twenty minutes."
"Okay ma'am. Just press this bell right here when you're ready to order and we'll attend to you right away." The waiter told us, pointing at the green button at the center of the table and then he excused himself.
"So, do you like this place?" Adriana looked around while asking.
"Yes. You?"
I was captivated with her bright smile, realizing that I loved it whenever she was in a good mood. I hated it whenever she was sad or upset, no matter what the issue was.
She deserved to be happy at all times. And she had a beautiful heart.
She nodded at my question, licking her lower lip.
The waiter brought our wine just then and smiled at us, making sure to let his eyes stay a little bit longer on Adrian and I squinted. It wasn't the waiter from earlier but a younger one with chestnut hair and a nose ring. He looked like he was transfixed with her beauty and my fist clenched at the audacity of that gaze of his, on my woman.
"She's beautiful, isn't she? Very beautiful that she has the two men at the table captivated." I told him with a smile.
"Er, my apologies sir." He rushed out and his eyes immediately moved over to the glass cup. He stood straight, nodding and apologizing before scurrying away.
Adrian giggled. "You didn't have to do that. He was only being nice with the curt smile."
"Yeah." My eyes darkened at her obliviousness. "Nice enough to eye your face, and possibly your delicate lips. You don't know what we men think in our mind when we eye a woman that way." I retorted, frowning.
She had no response to this, except for licking her lower lip and chuckling.
I leaned into the table and gently traced her lower lip with my thumb, enjoying her expression when her breath stuttered. Her eyes rested on mine, her breath slow as she stilled, as if afraid I would stop what I was doing if she moved.
"Diego..." My name sounded so delicate coming from her lips.
"Fuck. You're so fine. And so hot. And still so beautiful at the same time." I muttered and sighed, drawing my hand back.
She cleared her throat and I chuckled, pulling one side of my mouth to give her a smirk while I focused my smoldering gaze on her.
"What's with that smug look?" She tried to sound unaffected by my gaze but we both knew I couldn't fall for that. She wanted me as much as I wanted her right now.
"It's the way you're looking unaffected when all I can think of is the image of your legs wrapped around my waist right now." I told her in a low, husky tone and watched her eyes widen. I rarely spoke dirty to her. So when I did, the effect was always a hundred and one percent effective.
"Diego..." She called again, this time almost a whimper.
"Yes?"
"Please..." Please what? Stop or take me? Which Adrian?
"I want to kiss you so bad right now. And I want to kiss and worship every inch of you. And I might just do that, when we get home." I told her hoarsely and she took a good quantity of the drink in a rush, her eyes trained on me. "Don't get drunk baby, we don't know what surprise awaits us tonight."
"Hmm." She sighed dreamily at my words and then shook her head, as if to rid of the sexual thoughts circulating in her head. "So, I've been meaning to ask. Why are you working?"
"Why am I working? Explain." I took a sip of the wine.
"Considering the fact that your dad is mad rich, you don't even need to work a day in your life. But you work...and you're even working under one of the managers in a company. Isn't that...low? Doesn't it make you feel uncomfortable?"
I always wondered if she'd ever ask me this question. "I never thought I'd have a cause to work for even a day in my life but I'm just a man, at the end of the day. And man has the issue of always wanting to solve a problem they encounter so everything can be fine once again." I explained and watched her take another sip of the wine.
"What do you mean?"
"When I was younger, my nanny used to tell me I would lose everything I'd grown up with because it was never mine. I didn't understand till I got to know that the woman I grew up viewing as my mother wasn't and Natalia was my real mom. Since then I felt as if I was lost in life. My whole life was a lie."
She fixed her gaze on me, listening to each word with a serious expression as I explained myself.
"I decided to go somewhere and find myself. And since the Nanny already told me my mom was from Sicily, I came here. But I couldn't depend on my parents money because I would be even more indebted to them. And I didn't want to be. I wanted to find my own origin and not depend on the lie that had been fabricated by the people I knew to be my parents all my life. So I stopped using that bank account and started working humbly like everyone else. I didn't feel like a rich son who depended on his father. I felt like a man fending for himself. And the feeling...was wholesome. Because I had my experience and studies to secure me a good job. I was proud of myself."
"You're still indebted to them though. They brought you up this far and taught you most of the things you know, after all." She reasoned and I thought about it. After a while, I agreed. But if anything, they owed me that, at least.
"I'm allergic to ginger." I told her.
"I'm allergic to orange. I get itches in my throat whenever I take it." She answered and shrugged.
Then I signalled for the waiter and we gave our orders.
Halfway into the meal, I had Adriana giggling like a duck but I didn't regret it one bit. Her laughter was refreshing and I just realized that listening to her had a calming effect on me. Somehow.
"So I run out into the hall and he's there, giving me the death stare while I run past him. Butt naked. Shouting all over the place." I reminisced.
She threw her head back as her laughter flowed around us like a melodious tune. My eyes trailed over her fair neck and I smiled. I'd kiss that neck good when we eventually get home.
"So your most embarrassing act was running buttnaked down the hallway after school because you lost a bet." She chuckled as the laughter died down and I nodded. "Mine was...sneaking into a man's room and shamelessly having sex with him. I didn't think of the fact that I could've been sued if I'd been caught by the hotel management. And also, you were drunk. What if you had a girlfriend? I would've taken advantage of drunk man." She bit her lower lip, her cheeks coloring a little.
"Well it was a great fuck and I wouldn't have slept with someone if I didn't feel attracted to her. At least not someone I met in that situation." I told her truthfully. Sure I'd been in one night stands but she'd been a stranger the night we met, and I didn't pay her for fucking me. She was the one that'd even seduced me. That made it all the more amazing.
We keep chatting till it was time to go home and she requested for the bill.
I got up but Adrian quickly stretched her credit card out, probably thinking I wanted to pay. I smiled at the sight. I would repay her for the meal, in a way she would definitely appreciate.
When we got back into the car, Adrian tried Kara's number again.
"Will you let her be? She's having a great time with her boyfriend and probably getting some...finally." I told her but then gagged at my own words. That was my sister and I didn't want to imagine her that way. Ewww.
Adrian tried Kara's number, ignoring my advice but it was still unreachable.
"Her number is unreachable. She should've dropped a message for me on Instagram since there's nothing on..." Then she gasped and in the next instance, my baby was screaming. "Wait, oh my gosh!"
A smile graced her lips as she jumped giddily in the chair.
Stephano just proposed to Kara. I knew about his proposal plan since the day they graduated but if I'd told Adrian that day, she wouldn't have kept the excitement to herself.
I feigned ignorance. "What?"
"Stephano! He...he proposed. My baby's now engaged. Kara! Oh goodness! Thank you God. Thank you God. Hallelujah!!" She screamed and then started crying.
What the hell? I frowned.
"Okay, okay babe. I know you're happy for my twin sister right now but-" I started consoling her when she suddenly wrapped her arms around me. Then she pulled away and typed furiously on her phone before dropping it in the center console and pulling me in for a deep kiss.
"Diego! My best friend is now engaged. I'm so happy!" She laughed as the tears still trailed down her cheeks, resting her forehead on mine.
"I'm happy for my twin sister too. I'm happy." I told her truthfully.
She giggled and kissed me some more. "I love you baby." She breathed on my lips. "It's a perfect night."
"I love you more." I confessed. I'd never get tired of telling how much I loved her.
I drove out of the spot and eyed her, planning some things in my mind. "Stay with me this weekend."
She looked my way so fast that I chuckled in amusement. This young lady was mad over me. Totally whipped.
"Yes." She replied immediately. "I'll spend the weekend at your place."
It would definitely be a perfect weekend then. Just perfect.
