Chapter 37

Sapphire Miller's POV:

Ahhhh where am I. I could feel someone squeezing my hand. I tried my best to open my eyes but, I was unable to open. Ok let me try once again. I slowly tried once again to open my eyes and it worked. I opened my eyes and saw mama and Alvin. They were looking at me eagerly. What the hell happened? I looked at everyone puzzled as to why they are looking at me like this. Wait what is going on? What did I miss? I closed my eyes shut trying to remember what happened and slowly I started remembering Mel, kidnapping, shooting, Richard and Papa.

"How's Papa?" I questioned desperate to know his condition.

"He's fine princess. How are you feeling?" Alvin said and mama squeezed my hand reassuring that he is fine.

"I'm fine Al" I said not knowing where to look.

"I'm sorry I've caused a lot of trouble" I said looking down. Everything happened because of me.

"No baby, what are you even sorry for?" Mama questioned.

"Mama it's because of me that your daughter Mel turned did this" I said. I couldn't even face Alvin because I know that he loves his sister very much and now she's in jail because of me.

"Yea she's my daughter and so are you. So, please don't talk like this. You'll forever be our girl" Mama said tearing up.

"Elle? My Elle is alive. My Elle is alive. I knew nothing would've happened to you" Mom cried entering the room, coming towards me and I held my hand for her to take. I had mama with me all this time but, I really missed my mom.

"Mom, I'm fine. I'm sorry that I couldn't meet you and dad once I remembered everything" I said to mom and dad looking at them with guilt. Dad was in the corner and was crying his eyes out.

"Mom, Dad, Mama and Al I'm sorry for what happened with Mel" I said knowing completely that I had to apologize to all of them. I've literally dragged their daughter and sister out of their lives.

"No Elle it is me and your mom who should be apologizing. I'm sorry for raising my daughter Mel like that Mrs. Miller. I should've given her more love and affection. I failed as a father" Dad said coming towards Miller mama.

"I'm sorry for not teaching her how to treat people with compassion. I'm sorry that I've not paid attention when so much was going on with Mel. I should've paid her more attention as her mother" Mom said looking at Miller mama.

"No, you've raised her good but, she was very jealous of Sapph that she did all of this. I never once blamed you for what Mel did and never will because I know that as a parent you'd always teach your child to be good so, please don't apologize" Miller mama said.

"Mom, dad, when did you both come here?" I asked.

"Mr. Alvin called us and explained everything what happened. Then, we rushed to see Mel and then came here" Dad said and I just nodded.

"How's Mel?" I questioned looking at mom and dad.

"She's just silent. We went to give her the comfort which she needed but she didn't even look at us nor did she talk to us" Dad said in a low sad voice. I don't know what would have happened to me if not for Richard protecting me. Oh my god Richard.... He took the bullet for me.

"How's Richard? Is he ok? He's doing good right?" I asked tensed. The person I love is in trouble because I asked him not to do anything careless and he just did that.

"He's fine Sapph. He's doing good" Miller mama said giving me a smile. What do I do with him he's cute but he's in trouble.

"Who's Richard, Elle? Mom and Dad questioned at the same time.

Richard McCarthy's POV:

"Det pleaseeeeeee. I want to see Sapph. Pleaseeeeee Det. Pleaseeeeeeeee" I begged the Detective.

"Shut up man, Please let me sleep in peace" Detective said. Well if you ask me why he's still here it is because my mom had some costume fund raising campaign the next day so I asked her to leave because she's been planning this for 2 months now. So, if mom leaves dad also would go because they are like this couple who can't stay away from each other. Detective here is staying here with me because I forced him to. I kept asking him to take me to see Sapph but this dude is busy trying to sleep. So I wanted to do the best thing I could to show my sincerity.

'What are you going to do?' my 'mind' questioned..

'Wait and watch' I said to my 'mind'.

'Please don't do something stupid. Coz I've had enough of you until now trying to make him take you to my sweetheart by doing creepy things like cracking jokes and face dancing if that's even a thing. Oh God I don't even want to think about your face while doing face dance again. Yuckkkkk I've seen enough crap for my lifetime' my 'mind' said insulting me.

'It's not my problem that you didn't like my face dance and some day I want to make it worldwide famous. People will remember me for my face dance like ho people remember Michel Jackson for his dance. That day, please don't even think to make harmony with me because I'll be a famous face dancer' I told my 'mind' with all the pride I had.

'Your face literally looked like you are constipated and want to poop very bad but the poop is refusing to come out while you did you face dance to impress detective. Ughhhhhh I don't even want to think about it. It's the worse time of any mind's life' my 'mind' said gagging.

'You're just jealous. Please let me do my work' I shouted at my 'mind' and I started with my plan of making Detective take me to Sapph.

" We were both in Del's house when I first saw you,

I close my organs and the flashback starts

See..." I sang and was about to continue but the detective stood up from where he was sleeping.

"STOPPPPPPP Stop singing. God what did I do to deserve this" Detective shouted.

'He's at least good because he can escape from you but what should I do? Goddddd all I ever asked for was a nice cooperative body but you had to give me this? Are you playing with me God? *cries dramatically wiping it's imaginary eyes*' my 'mind' cried.

'Oh hoiiii I got his attention see now he's going to take me to Sapph and please even I asked for a nice 'mind' not something like you and you're lucky to have me' I said to my 'mind'.

"Take me to Sapph" I asked the detective again.

"Okkkkkkk fine I lost. Wait I'll get a stretcher" Detective said and went to get the stretcher. He laid me on the stretcher on my front and I suddenly remembered something so I did it with the detectives help. We went towards Sapph's room and I heard people talking.

"Who's Richard, Elle?" A women and man asked at the same time and I entered just in time.

"Her beloved, her one and only, her only love, her knight in shining armor, her present, past and future, her breathe, her eye sight, her smile, her everything " I said and would've continued if not for someone screaming.

'Her bacteria that resides in teeth, her small intestine, her large intestine, her poop. Oh and please do add this that you are her dead skin cell *rolling imaginary eyes*' my 'mind' said and I thought of including these if not for this screaming.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH" someone screamed and ran away. Ouch that hurts.

"Oh my god what happened to your face?" Sapph asked.

"You told that you're not going to see my face if I followed you so, I made changes to my face" I said.

"So you've put on make-up? Oh my god if I didn't know you I would be definitely..... I don't know what to say" Sapph said.

"Definitely what?" I questioned.

"Scared" Alvin and Detective said at the same time.

'Well a normal Homo sapien tends to get scared if he /she sees something which we can only imagine not seeing. Maybe they're scared of your make-up' my 'mind' said.

"You literally look like a weird Annabelle doll and for the love of God please open your eyes. Don't want to see those scary sketched eyes anymore and for heaven's sake remove that wig" Alvin said.

"Whatttt? you don't like Annabelle? You're weird Al" I said opening my eyes. I mean who doesn't like the cute Annabelle doll?

'Yea he is one weird friend of yours. I mean who doesn't like such a cute doll. I think you look absolutely stunning and mom said it was the best costume or make-up anyone could do and don't mind Alvin, he's just jealous' my 'mind' said and I could only agree with it.

"Who's he?" A man standing next to Sapph's bed questioned.

"I'm Richard, Sapph's boyfriend and who are you?" I questioned.

"I'm Elle's father and I don't think she's your girlfriend anymore" He said and I just went blank.
