It has been a week since that dreadful night. He have been ignoring me since then not like I want his attention but feels like a silence before the storm.

Neither of us have spoken about the baby. I thought of raising that topic but he have drowned himself in work. He comes home as late as 2 and leave before 7 so their is no time for any conversation.

Even my viva is going on so I am busy preparing that. Well it's okay life.

Today Hardik mom had called me and said that they ll be coming to our home and she have to inform me about something important. I asked her to tell in the phone but she said that she ll say it face to face.

Oh god pls no new problem already my life is fucked up!!

It's already 6 o clock. Hardik had informed them about our pregnancy before as we are not ready for anymore family drama.

He must be coming back soon I should get also get ready. I went and took out a white suit and a heavy silver dupatta. I wore a diamond necklace which had pink ruby in it and matching earring. I did a minimal make up and made my hair wavy. I wore a pink ruby ring and diamond bangles. After giving a final touch up I went down.

I was checking with the maids whether the dinner is ready or not till then the bell rung . I opened the door and it was Hardik s parents. I greeted them and welcomed them inside. His dad was as usual wearing a black suit and his mom was wearing a red cut saree type dress. Along with all her necessary jewellery. I don't know what exactly that was but she was carrying it well.

"Beta hardik didn't came till now?" His dad asked me

"He ll be here soon" I replied

His father got a call so he excused himself and went away.

"Beta I wanted to tell you something very important " his mom said

"Yes mom" I said

"Beta tomorrow Hardik s dadi is going to come and she ll be living with us for a week. She could not attend your wedding because of her operation but now she will be coming and yes we all need to stay here together. So me and your dad will be staying here for a week as well " mom said

"No problem mom" I said

"Their is problem" mom said

I gave her a confused-look and she sighed and continued.

"Beta she is extremely traditional and an orthodox. Pls wear only saree and yes look down and don't say anything to her just obey her, she is here only for few days pls adjust accordingly. Don't worry I ll be with you I ll help you and guide you but just follow what she says okay?" She said

I am just feed up from my life, was Hardik not enough that his grandma is also coming!!

"As cool and modern your mom is modern that much traditional and orthodox is Hardik s dad mom?" I asked and mom nodded silently.

"Yes" she said

The door bell rung and I was about to opened the door but mom went instead. Hardik entered and smiled looking at his mom I wish he could smile at me too!

"Hi mom" he said and hugged her

"Welcome home beta . How was your day?" she said

"Tiring " he said and sat on the sofa.

I went and the kitchen and bought him water . I completely forgot that mom is present and was about to sit and open his shoes but he quickly cough to make me realise that we need to act.

Mom gave us some wired look however before she could ask anything dad came, thank god he saved me from monster s anger.

"Can we have dinner now I am very hungry " dad said

"When are not hungry atleast  behave in front of your son and his wife what will they think about you..." mom blabbered

"Mom cool down and Khushi why are you standing go and set the dinner table fast" Hardik said

I nodded and set the table . All came and started having dinner.

"Really mom dadi is coming that s such a good news. I ll go and pick her up myself " Hardik said

"Hardik if you don't mind can today Khushi sleep with me ? We need to plan a lot for tomorrow " mom said

"Yes I ll sleep with my son after a long time " dad said excitedly

"Fine" Hardik said and left.

I cleaned the table. Soon it was night and mom told me more about dadi rather scared me how dangerous she was, also she showed me many dress and jewellery . We made a lot of desi food and after a lot of preparation we finally slept.

It was almost 6 o clock in the morning and Hardik had already left to bring dadi. I got to know that dadi is a so called modern women who believe in all societal norm, she favours boy over girl and how traditional she is.

Mom told me that we have to wear traditional dress. So I was wearing a Rajasthani poshak as per mom wish. It was comfy as the top was lose like a T-shirt. I wore very less jewellery compared to mom. She dresses as if it was her wedding today with so many jewellery make up etc.

Soon dadi came and we went down. She was wearing traditional dress but was carrying it elegantly and was looking classy

I went near her and took her blessings . She looked up and down and asked mom

"Why is she not wearing enough jewellery and what is this dress so light and poor!! Khushi you are carrying the Pandya name don't defame it by wearing such cheap clothes we have a class maintain it and Nalini teach your daughter in law how to behave like mrs Pandya " saying so she left.

"Beta I told you not to wear this! You know she is traditional type beta pls just for one week adjust accordingly " mom said

"Mom why the fuck are you begging her you if you can't adjust according to my family then get out of my home their is no place for an ungrateful women like you " Hardik said

"Hardik ! Mind your language
your mom have scolded her and that's enough Nalini send her the dress in the morning and teach her whatever she needs to do we both will not interfere it's the ladies matter. Do you get it Hardik?" Dad said

"Fine" Hardik said and left

It was almost lunch time and I as per mom s wish made the lunch. I was hell scared I tried my best and was preparing the lunch for past three hours.
It was all dadi s favourite Rajasthani dinner hope she likes it.

All were sitting on the table dadi was looking at me as if she ll kill me only. I kept the dishes and sat beside Hardik.

"Hardik your wife don't know that she should eat after you and Nalini haven't you taught her that women in our house serves the elder and then eat. You girl how dare you sat first stand up and serve me" dadi roared

"Khushi do as dadi say fast" Hardik said angrily and I nodded scarily.

I served her the food she took the first bite and spilt it on me.

"Is this food or poison!!  you want to kill me that's why you added almonds I have an allergy of almonds Harry beta she want to kill me" dadi said

"No Maa it's not her mistake I forgot to told Khushi it's my mistake ..." mom defended me

"Don't defend her Nalini and you low class women I don't know at what time you became our daughter in law but now if you are then behave like one forget you habit back at home your mom won't say anything but Hardik she is now your responsibility teach her well. She carry your name!" Dadi said

Why is dadi making our toxic relationship more difficult!!

" Don't worry dadi. I ll deal with her very nicely!!"

The last word made a shiver ran in my spine. What will he do now?

So their was an update problem I don't know how but as a reader suggested I unpublished my chap switched off my iPad and then republish it and it happened!!
