Recollection
~Time Skip: 5 years~
+Nightmare Realm+
Dipper grew up into a wonderful demon over the past 5 years thanks to his father, Bill Cipher and his mother, Will Cipher. He had exceeded in his studies and training which made his parents proud of him. But there was some mishap during training where Dipper had lost most of his sight in his right eye. Which brings the whole Cipher Family keeping one eye under an eye patch now.
The 18-year-old demon had grown to be about 5'8 in height. A head shorter than his parents, but he was still pretty proud of himself for growing tall.
He kept in contact with his friends in the Reverse Universe. Gideon and Pacifica would come hang out with him from time to time, and he how would do the same with them. Although the cousins made sure he didn't come in contact with the male Gleeful twin.
From time to time Dipper would happen to find a letter on his nightstand address to him. He kept quiet about the letter appearing from his parents because he knew who they were coming from. Secretly, he would read them before going to sleep.
~
"Sapling, I'm heading out!" Bill says from the bottom of the stairs.
"Wait Bill!" Dipper rushes to the door while trying to get him to wait for him. He snaps his fingers and the desired materials fly into his messenger bag on the bed. Then the sac lifts from the bed and flies straight into the waiting teen's hand.
"Sapling," Bill calls again.
Dipper rolls his eyes as he closes his door to his room. He teleports down beside his father. "You're impatient."
"Just because I have to take you back to the third dimension." Bill huffs. It wasn't his idea to bring his son back to the place where his enemies reside. "Do you really want to go back there Dominic?"
"I'll be fine Father really," Dipper says to assure his blond parent. "I won't go near the town, I just want to explore the forest again."
"You do it all the time with Star and Llama although it's in their universe. Isn't that enough?"
"But it's not my forest." Dipper smiles with some sadness there. "I miss the place where it all started."
Bill sighs, gently placing a hand on his son's shoulder, with a defeated expression. "Alright, I understand." The older demon clicks a portal open with the snap of his fingers. "Just promise me you'll signal for me if you're in danger or found. If you're looking for me, I'll be with Will."
Dipper gives a quick peck on the cheek to Bill and smiles. "I will," his eyes proving his answer true. The demon then takes a breath and passes his father to go through the portal.
He takes his first step onto the familiar green grass of his terrain. The air of the forest greeted him with a gentle gust of air. He opens his eye and smiles at the sight of the surrounding forest.
"I'm back."
Dipper turns around to see the portal gone. He chuckles before digging into his messenger bag to retrieve his blue journal.
A silver PineTree symbol centered on the cover.
+Meanwhile: Gravity Falls+
Mabel returned for another summer at the Mystery Shack. Actually, she was going to start her new life in the paranormal town. She was finally 18 years of age, basically considered an adult. The brunette chose a close College on the outskirts of town. Normal of course, since none of the people there seem to know of the paranormal living in the town's forest.
She had grown tall, 5'6 sounds about right. He frame was the typical skinny, not boney she had some muscle to show, but none the less had she grown up to be a beautiful, kind-hearted lady. She also kept her trusty grappling hook with her and took self defense lessons during her free time.
Pacifica and Gideon continued to support her through her depression of Dipper. They did their best and it made a good slow process. Mabel kept herself up to smile, not falsely anymore than in the past. That doesn't mean she was the only one effected.
As Mabel got better, the twin Grunkles made their own process to get better. They realized their self wallowing wasn't doing any of them, especially Mabel, any good. The three got together for good counseling talk with just the three of them.
Feelings and thoughts were shared. Tears were shed and burdens were somewhat lifted from their shoulders.
They were doing it, for Dipper.
~
"Mabel! Pacifica and Gideon are here!" Ford call up the stairs.
"I'm on my way down! Just a few more minutes!" Mabel exclaims as she does some touch ups with her makeup. She doesn't get long when she hears quick footsteps coming up the stairs.
The door is pushed open with force. Pacifica making her appearance in the doorway. "Come on Mabel we don't have all day." She says jokingly with a playful smile.
"Ever learned how to knock?" Mabel jokes back with a giggle. She finished putting on the last touches of make up and heads down with Pacifica beside her.
The two of them are met with Gideon who waited by the stairs. He grew more over the 5 years and had grown exceptionally tall of 5'9. Pacifica being the one with the middle height of 5'7 between her two friends.
"Nice to see you again Marshmallow. How was the drive?"
"Long and tiring, but I got here safe!" The brunette gave the albino a tight hug in greetings. Gideon gave her a quick hug back as well. They let go each other and laugh. "So what's the plan for today?"
"We thought a walk through the woods would be nice and then head out to town. All of us haven't been to the forest for awhile know ya know."
The three of them continue their question outside. They wanted the two old men to have their daily brotherly conversation in peace from their loud voices. Not that the older Pines twins would admit it was actually soothing to have them around.
They head past the forest line with a smiles.
"So how was unpacking?" Pacifica asks. "I could help if you still have ways to go."
Mabel shook her head. "I've got it. I don't have much left to unpack. Just some books and photos is all."
"Well that-" Pacifica's sentence was cut off when a trio of gnomes scurry pass in front of them. "Hey! Watch it!" She scolds them.
The gnomes take notice of her and apologized. Mabel instantly remembers the three gnomes: Jeff, Smebulock, and Carl.
"S-Sorry my Queen! But we were just about to come look for you!" Jeff says trying to steady himself. That's right, Pacifica had taken position a their queen with the condition she doesn't need to marry any of them. It helped lower the rate of girls being tricked by the small creatures.
"What's going on?" Mabel asks Jeff with concern. Gideon stares the gnomes down from behind Mabel with a dangerous expression of protection towards the two girls.
Jeff gulps and clears his throat. "There's someone here in the forest. They just appeared out of nowhere and started taking notes of all of us like how your great uncle used to."
"Did you recognized them? Are they male or female?" Gideon questions them.
"Not at all sir, but they're defiantly male. He's got this dangerous aura around him, but he doesn't seem to want to hurt any of us." Jeff tells him, he remembers the man help one of the normal animals, a bird, by healing them. "He doesn't seem like a threat, although we though we should inform you."
Pacifica nods and thanks the three of them for the information. "Do you know where they are now?"
"Last time we saw him, he was by the waterfall enclosure where the water nymphs live." Jeff and his two gnome friends start walking, getting the humans to follow them.
They made quick pace to the next location. As they got closer, Carl warned them to make light steps and stay quiet.
Gideon stayed behind the two girls to make sure they weren't surprised from behind. He needed to act quickly if any potential threat decides to attack them.
Mabel's hand is held by Pacifica to make sure they don't split up. Even if she knew the brunette took self defense, she needed back up to get through safely.
They came to the enclosure's clearing with a silent atmosphere. The water falling onto the lower lake roared.
There a person by the lake's edge. He looked around Mabel and Pacifica's age. A lean built with dirty blond hair ruffled a bit by the gentle breeze.
The teen by the lake chuckles which makes the others watching him make a curious expression.
"Well aren't you nymphs still a beauty to behold." The person says with a familiarity in his tone. He moves his hand to reveal at least two water nymphs sitting on the palm of his hand.
The group could help, but freeze at his voice. They couldn't believe it. Here and now. It may have changed through the years, but they would never forget his voice.
"5 years and you guys haven't changed at all." The water nymphs giggle and lifts off from his hand to jump back onto the water. They don't liquify back into the rippling water, instead they walked on top of it like it was solid floor. The occasional ripples make light appearances as they walk across. "Hold that pose please. That would be a excellent for my journal entry about your log."
"No..." Mabel shakily breaths out.
Pacifica hugs her tightly while Gideon stares long with wide eyes at the person- no demon child, born from the enemy of Gravity Falls. The one who befriended them, made them who they were today.
He takes his camera and snaps a few photos of them. He smiles, standing up to face their direction while he looks at his photos.
"Dipper." Mabel whispers. She wanted to go to him. Her mind filled with memories of the past. 'Go' Her mind was urging her.
That's what she did.
She tore herself away form Pacifica's hug, her legs running pass the surprised gnomes towards her 'brother'.
Dipper looks up in surprise hearing the rustling of the grass beneath some's feel and pushing pass the bush. He wasn't ready to face with who came out of them.
A few feet away from him stood his 'sister'. Chocolate brown eyes looked back in his single eye.
"Mabel." He said her name with some surprise. He was more astonished of her appearance. Dipper didn't think he would meet her here and now for that matter. The female teen rushed over to him and enveloped him in a tight hug. Boy was it a tight hug. "Mabel." He said again with unsureness.
He could feel something wet where Mabel's face was pressed to his chest. Her sobs came out loudly, letting the demon teen know of her sorrow and distress.
"Dipper! Dipper! I-I'm so sorry!" She repeats her apologies like a mantra. Her arms tighten around his waist, she didn't want to think this was a dream. If she let go, she believed he may just disappear.
Gideon and Pacifica walked out from behind the bushes as well. They couldn't believe their flipping eyes.
Dipper didn't know how to react, so many memories were rushing through his mind of them. So many that he felt light headed. His body suddenly heavy and his legs wobbled like jelly. His body went on auto pilot and shut down.
Mabel felt the weight of the demon teen get heavy. She looks up to find the demon had fainted in her arms. Gideon and Pacifica run over to them, Gideon holds Dipper up carefully.
"I can't believe he's here." Gideon says in an unbelievable tone. He inspects then from head to toe, Dipper had grown tall, but he was still taller by an inch. His feature stayed the same leave the new addition of the eye patch over his right eye.
"We should take him back to the Shack," Mabel suggests. "Maybe Ford could check him just in case he's hurt. I think I hugged him too hard."
"I guess we should. Come on, let's get him some help."
The brothers were surprised when the kids brought in an unconscious teen into their home and laid him on the couch. When Mabel practically begged and cried to Ford to check him to make sure the teen on the couch. When he got a good look at the teen he immediately knew why Mabel was acting as such.
"Where did you find him?" Ford questions checking Dipper for any sign of illness or injury.
"We didn't find him," Gideon says.
"The gnomes did. They told us someone appeared out of nowhere and was going around noting the creatures living there." Pacifica informed him further.
Stan stood in the doorway watching them with concern. He clears his throat, "Mabel, Ford, can we talk really quick."
Ford checks Dipper one last time before going over to his brother. Mabel gives Dipper's unconscious form one last took before following along. Once they were gone, Pacifica and Gideon stayed in the living room to watch over the demon teen.
Stan took them the kitchen and they had a moment to sit in silence. Ford was the first to start up a conversation with his family.
"It's been 5 years... Time sure does fly by."
"The kid's grown Ford. If anything he's probably learned a lot from Bill." Stan says as his crosses his arms and lean back against the counter.
Mabel looks at the table top with worry. "How do we talk to him?"
"We start slow Mabel and apologize." Ford tells her with remorse. "I broke his trust, even took him away from his rightful parents, so it'll be some time before he comes to terms with me."
She hums in answer rather sad at how their meeting went. "I wish everything could go back to normal."
~Meanwhile~
Pacifica looks over to Gideon, "What should we do when he wakes up?"
"We make conversation and try to apologize on behalf of everyone else and welcome him back I guess? It's the least we can do." Gideon says as he shrugs his shoulders a bit awkwardly.
They soon hear a groan coming from the couch and they turn around to see Dipper sitting up rubbing his forehead. "Ugh, I feel like I got hit by a bus."
"Dipper." Pacifica walks over to him after getting a glass of water for him on the table.
Dipper looks over to Pacifica and smiles. "Oh, hey Paz. I had the weirdest dream ever."
Pacifica was a bit taken aback by the friendly attitude and nickname as Dipper spoke. Dipper had never called her Paz before. "What dream Dipper?"
"I was back in the forest doing some journaling after Bill finally let me come back to the forest in my dimension you know. I was taking notes, but then all of a sudden," His eyes narrowed a slightly, "Mabel comes out of the bushes and she hugs me... it felt so real. Then your opposites come out from behind the bushes too and look at me in surprise." He blinks and lets out a sigh.
Dipper chuckles after telling her his dream. "I think Bill would be so worried and my mother would faint at just the thought of me seeing them again."
Pacifica couldn't let out a sentence. Her words caught in her throat in response to the demon before her. Dipper was mistaking her for someone else.
Gideon leans over a bit to look at Gideon with a smile. "Haha, what's with the face Gid? You look like you saw a ghost." Dipper looks thoughtful for a second.
"Dipper what are you taking about?" Gideon asks very confused. Was he mistaking him for someone else? The albino walks closer to the light hair teen. He swallows, "Dipper, what's my name?"
"Gideon Pines." Dipper says with confusion. "Who else would you be Gid? And Pacifica," he points to her, "here is a Southeast. Your cousin."
Those weren't their last names. And they were definitely not related in any way.
Gideon points to himself, "Dipper, I'm Gideon Gleeful." Then points to Pacifica shakily. "Pacifica is a Northwest."
The confusion and smile slowly slips away from Dipper's expression as he comes to realize his dream was never a dream in the first place. His hands grip the fabric of the couch tightly. He wanted to go away. 'Quickly!' His mind supplied.
"Dipper wait, please." Pacifica says hesitantly as she takes hold of Dipper's wrist. "Can we just talk for a moment? Please." She sounded so weak, making her appearance vulnerable.
Dipper took a moment to breath. His thoughts fighting between staying or leaving quickly. He needed to be brave and face this. He's not a kid anymore, no more running.
"I'll listen."
Pacifica and Gideon smile at him lightly. They spoke, words of sorrow and guilt present as they explained everything about what happen over the 5 years he's been gone. What the town went through and how the people changed since his disappearance.
What hurt Dipper the most was the mention of Mabel. The person who he thought as a sibling for 12 years since he was young. She apparently went through the worst of states since he chose Bill. Hearing she had become a wreak made him feel so guilty of hurting her emotionally.
"She's been doing better now, so has Ford and Stan. They usually have time together to talk things out about you from time to time. You know like a little support group." Gideon tells him with a small smile.
Pacifica nods, "They've been doing this for you Dipper."
"Why? Don't they hate me for leaving them? For causing their stress?" Dipper asks staring hard at the two humans.
Gideon shook his head like Pacifica. "Dipper, they would never hate you. You were always family to them, no matter who you are, they love you. Don't you remember what Stan said back at the party?"
'Kid, I know it sounds bad, but please believe us. You are who you choose to be. A demon or human you're still part of our family either way. We're not mad at you for being who you really are.'
"I-I remember... but it doesn't change the fact Ford took me away from my family. My real family." Dipper hugs himself and shivers. He didn't like being here. It brought back bad memories. "I always felt I've been living some kind of lie, but I kept it to myself. I just couldn't seem to fit anywhere."
"So when Bill came to the party looking for his son..." Pacifica says putting the puzzle together.
"I felt like like I fit into place when he said he was looking for his son. That day when Ford tried to tell me at the time about my origins, the fear of him rose up. I back away from the man who took me away." The last part came coming off with some anger. They could see his visible eyes flash a quick red before it disappeared.
"And I am so sorry for what I did."
The three turn their attention to the door. Mabel and the older Pines twins stood them before walking in. Ford took a small approach to Dipper who pressed himself back into the couch. The older twin stopped walking closer when he saw Dipper do that. He gave a downcast expression.
"Dominic-"
"Don't call me that." Dipper bites out at him. "You have no right to address me by my name." A glare settles on him.
"Then Dipper," Ford nods, "I'm sorry for my past choices. More specifically for taking you away from your family and lying to you."
"Words can only do so much Ford." Dipper says solemnly. He holds his hand behinds back to preform a small spell to signal for his father.
Stan looks from the door way he's leaning on. "Hey Dipper, you've grown." A small smile evident on his face with hurt behind his mask.
"So have you Stan." Dipper levels his gaze at him. The old man could still kick and punch for all he knew. He had lots of secrets after all.
Mabel fiddles with her fingers. Her friends behind her giving her a gentle push forward to Dipper. The demon on the couch finally looking at her.
"Dipper... I-I-"
She couldn't finish when a flash of bright yellow appears in front of the demon teen. When the light dies down, a formally dressed young man with blond hair appears facing Dipper.
"Sapling?"
