Of Presents and a Letter
+Nightmare Realm: 6 months since visiting Reverse Falls+
Bill had continued Dipper's training with portals. The more Dipper was taught, the more he caught on and learned how to control it evenly with his other powers. The blond demon had slowly found his son using the power as a means of escape. In other words to recollect himself after leaving Tyrone. While his mother, Will, would come over and have a chat with Dipper every so often about anything his son wanted to talk about to calm him.
Dipper had taken a routine of going through different dimensions once a day to just sit and observe differences with his own home. He would go to a random dimension and stay there for most of the day before retiring back home to his father.
Bill had taken notice of his son's self-mind improving to be healthy again. Away from any negative thoughts or sadness. There would be times where he would bring reverse Gideon and Pacifica over to continue helping Dipper get over what happened.
At the moment, Dipper sat in his room with the two humans having fun watching a movie together. Gideon and Pacifica for the love of their demon friend's feelings didn't bring anything up concerning his human counterpart. They didn't want the emotionally healing teen to go back to his sad state again after seeing the first time they came over to comfort him on Will's behalf.
"Oh yeah, thanks for these little presents. They're so cute!" Pacifica gushes as she picks out her little necklace of a llama. On its upper leg contained a small drop shape case holding a live yellow flame.
Gideon pulled his out too, but instead of a necklace, the wear was changed as a bracelet. He had a pentagram star with pastel colors with a live flame too that changes colors of the one on his star. "How did you make these anyways? I didn't know it was possible to keep a live flame inside the glass."
Dipper chuckles, "A little special trick of mine Gideon. After I learned a few things from my parents and reading the spellbook, I made the impossible," He snaps his fingers to light a small yellow flame on his index finger, "possible."
The cousins laugh and let their friend show them a couple of tricks now that he could control his firepower like his parents. Pacifica got curious herself now that she brought up Dipper's present.
"Have you open our gifts yet?"
Dipper flicked his flame off and looked at her to shake his head in reply. "Actually, I haven't open any presents I received since my birthday." Gideon almost spat out his drink in surprise while his cousin had her mouth open to gape. "What? I was planning to open them later all together." He says.
"Where are they?" Pacifica asks firmly.
A bit taken aback, Dipper pointed to his bottom nightstand drawer. Pacifica crawled over to his nightstand and opened said drawer to pull out all of Dipper's given gifts. How they all fit in there was done thanks to Bill's magic. Gideon counted each present set on the floor next to Dipper. In total, about 15 gifts altogether.
Pacifica sat back down next to Gideon. "It's not fun opening these things alone Dipper." She smiles and Gideon does the same as he gestures to the gifts laid out.
The young demon smiles and nods. He takes he present farthest from him. He gift was wrapped in purple paper with a pink ribbon on top. Dipper takes the tab off and hands it to Pacifica to read while opens the gift.
Pacifica takes the tab and reads off the card. "Happy Birthday Dear Nephew. This a gift from the Strange Family to you." She giggles, setting the card down next to Dipper.
The light hair brunet gets the present open. Inside is large supplies for many kinds of arts. Mostly they were for creative art, but there is one for musical art. His Uncle had given him a violin.
Gideon and Pacifica eye the instrument with awe because of its beauty. The wood of the violin is a dark oak, with brand new strings. The case itself was a beauty too, the insides were a soft sapphire blue with everything prepared to take care of the instrument laying inside. They had to restrain themselves from remembering their enemy's choice of an instrument as well. They don't want to dampen the mood of the room had while Dipper opened his gifts.
Dipper moved on, going through each gift with care and consideration. Pyronica has given him some her materials that she issues for her cape which Dipper remembered to give half to Pacifica. Keyhole gave him a ring of keys with detailed instructions for every individual key. Pacifier and Xanthar's gifts were a two-set, being a modified bike with helmets.
"Gideon."
"Yeah, dude?"
"Remind me that I owe these two one."
"Noted," Gideon says, what can he say. He was impressed by the modified bike too by a lot.
Amorphous Shape has gotten Dipper a demon cookbook with a round of candies that let him peek at the future for 5 minutes. EightBall gave Dipper a handmade messenger bag that had the space of infinity and never weights the wearer down since it still feels like theirs nothing inside. Hectorgon gave him self-made robots, around three total, which happen to look futuristic. Teeth's gift happened to be an enchanted coat just for him to disguise himself as someone else as long as Dipper knew what their name was and what they looked like. Finally, Kryptos gave Dipper a new sound system for his room for music assuming he was a musical person.
"Wow, my Father's friends are downright amazing with gifts."
"You could say that again."
The next gifts made Dipper smile since they were from his two favorite people who sat right in front of him at the moment.
Dipper politely took Pacifica's gift first to open. The Blue wrapping paper came off with the purple ribbon. He chuckled at the sweet gift. "Aw, thanks, Pacifica. Now I have a whole family."
Pacifica's gift is a little doll of himself. It had the same pattern design to copy his parent dolls. His Little Dipper doll had his dirty blond hair, different color eyes, and skin tone with a cute, formal suit.
"I thought your parent dolls could use a son of their own, ya know? They kind seem off without their son." She comments, appreciating Dipper's thanks.
The demon laughs and quickly places his new doll next to his parent dolls on his bed. Then he heads back to the floor and grabs Gideon's gift. It seems to be some sort of container juicing by the shape of the small gift. He quickly opens the gift and is surprised by whats under the wrapping paper.
It's a glass triangle prism. Inside the prism had the exact replication of a small Mystery Shack with its ground made of sand and greens filled with dry green moss.
"Whoa, this is amazing Gideon! How did you do this?!"
"I had some help from Will. I really wanted to make sure you wouldn't get too homesick even if you did leave on your own account." Gideon explains as he rubs the back of his neck embarrassed.
Dipper blinks as he takes in every detail of the gift. "Thanks, Gideon... really." A soft smile makes its way to his lips.
"Oh, yeah! Turn off the lights."
Dipper looks at Gideon for a second and snaps his fingers together to turn the lights off. Amazingly enough, the moss started to glow and small particles inside the prism glowed like fireflies.
"Dude I owe you so much for this." He loves the gift so much. "This is amazing."
Finally, Dipper got his last gifts from his parents after setting Gideon's gift on his nightstand. He pulls over Will's gift onto his lap. "Will's Present first." He takes a breath and exhales. His hands start unwrapping the soft present. Revealing a blue colored turtleneck sweater. So to say it wasn't bad at all.
Dipper slipped the present on, it's a bit big, making it baggy, but he loved it no less. Tight fitting clothes always made him feel constricted from moving too much. Although he didn't mind wearing formal clothes like the ones his parents wore often. Not to mention the fabric wasn't itchy, in fact, it was the softest material in the universe. Beating Pyronica's cape material by another universe.
"Cozy Dip?"
"You bet. Did Will ever make you guys one?"
"Yup. Will always gives sweaters to people he's really close to and trusts. It's like an instinct he has."
Dipper can't help but feel his mother there. It seems like the blue demon to do just that. He takes his last two gifts, the ones from his father.
The first gift he opens is a small one containing a ring box. It held a ring with a green encrusted gem in the shape of a pine tree. The band of the metal being the purest of silver gems ever seen.
The second made him want to run to Bill and hug him while the other half of him wanted to cry on the spot. Laying in the open wrappings is a whole new journal. The book itself covered in blue with silver linings, pages clear of any until it was written on. He had received his own journal.
"Dipper?"
"Sorry." Dipper apologized.
Pacifica and Gideon shook their heads. "There is nothing to be sorry about here Dipper," Gideon says to comfort his friend.
"Do you need a moment? Should we go home?" Pacifica suggests with questions.
Dipper held his head and nods his head a bit when he thinks it over. "I think I need some time to myself again. I just need to clear my head. Sorry guys."
"It's no problem Dipper really. As long as you can get better we'll wait." Pacifica hugs Dipper and so does Gideon. The young demon hugs them close and lets them go when he's ready.
Dipper opens a portal to their dimension, directed inside the sack to their room. "Stay safe guys. Call me if you ever need help. I mean it." Being serious about his last statement.
His friends roll their eyes as they're on the other side waving goodbye to him.
"See ya Dip!"
"Get better soon!"
The portal closes, letting them stay in their home. Dipper snaps his fingers to get the mess cleaned up. His new gifts put away in the rightful place with another snap too. Dipper goes to his bed and flops down on the mass of sheets.
Knock knock
Dipper turns his head to face the door. "It's open."
Bill comes in after opening the door. "Hey Sapling, how are you feeling?"
"On the okay side right now." He moves over to his bed to give his father room to sit near him. Dipper notices the bouquet of sapphire roses in Bill's hands. "Whoa, are you going out on a date with Mother soon?"
Bill seems to notice what Dipper meant when he saw his son's eyes on the flowers. "No, no. Actually, these flowers are for you." He hands Dipper the beautiful roses.
"For me?" Dipper questions looking at the flowers in his hands. "From who?" He asks looking up back at Bill.
"From you-know-who," Bill says with some bite in his voice. "Will's charge." He informs after seeing his son still looking confused.
"Oh... The young Gleeful." Dipper holds the bouquet of roses in his hands with a slightly tighter grip on the base of the stems.
"If you don't want them-"
Dipper shakes head quickly. "No, it's fine. I'll keep them until they finally wither."
Bill could see the slight hurt showing through his son's eyes. He pulls him over gently to give him a hug, placing a gentle kiss on the demon boy's temple. He pulls away and gets up. "Call me when you need me, alright?"
"Yes, Father." Bill goes to the door and walks out leaving Dipper with his thoughts and the roses.
The teen hums as he lays back on his side on the canopy bed. The sapphire roses laid next to him silently, not even the plastic covering it making a crinkling sound. His eyes catch a card between some roses of the bouquet, so he pulls it out to see what's written on it.
'To: Little Cipher
From: Tyrone 'Dipper' Gleeful
Dearest Little Cipher,
I would first like to apologize for my actions on what you saw that day. I know what I did will be something the both of us will never forget. I know I don't deserve you or your forgiveness because truly my actions didn't leave you happy. I had deceived you in the worst way possible by using your feelings, tricked you into loving me for my own personal gain, and hurt your dear friends.
Words cannot even begin to describe how I felt when you caught and left me. I saw you standing in front of me crying while clutching this blue sweater which I suppose is a gift for me for when you were suppose to leave later in the day. It hurt me so much seeing that hurt expression on your face. I wanted to comfort you, tell you how much I was so sorry to have done the things I did. I wanted to dry your tears while changing that sorrowful expression into something else to see your beautiful smile.
I realized, after you left, I lost someone who hold a special place in my cold heart. Now it's painful from what I've done.
I know I have no right to be around you anymore and I understand completely if you no longer want to see me. The least I can do is give you this last belated gift as a token of a late happy birthday present. I have always grown these flowers in my private garden but never shared them with anyone until now. They were always special to me because of their secret meaning I gave just for them. Not even the reddest of roses can compare to them and their meaning. I hope you will accept them with open arms.
Sincerest apologies and love,
Tyrone D. Gleeful.
Dipper felt tears run down his cheeks. His eyes blurring as he read the card over and over again. "I love you." The young demon whispers alone in his room.
"I love you so much, you idiot."
+Meanwhile+
The brunet sat in his room on the windowsill staring out the large front yard outside. The moon was high in the air to illuminate the pages of his book. Holding between his fingertips is a single rose with a special color of sapphire to its petals. Finally, laid across his lap a handmade sweater with soft yarn.
Knock knock
"Come in."
A blue hair demon came into the room and gave a short bow to the teen. "Your present was delivered safely, Master. He received your gift with no problem."
"Thank you Will." Tyrone thanks the demon servant. His eyes still trained to watch the outside the glass window. "You're dismissed from me for the rest of the day."
"Yes, Master."
Once the Gleeful child feels Will's present shift away, he lets out a sigh. He looks up at the moon and hums for a bit. His special roses always reminded him of the younger demon. It's the least he could do for the person he fell for unknowingly. Tyrone looks to the rose in his hand with regret and sadness. His fingers fiddling with the sweater on his lap from time to time.
He brings the rose up to his face and kisses he flower gently. The psychic pulls his lips away and sets the rose gently between the pages of his second journal.
"I love you my little Cipher."
