Little Robot Toy
Remember those shiny wind up toys that they use to sell at Walmart?
Yes, the ones that ran on batteries and failed like a dying heart...
I was, or am, one of those; but I ran on acceptance.
When you forced me to walk I did it with diligence.
Playing with you, my phantom mask on at all times...
When you left me in that toy box I released myself in rhymes.
I was, or am, tired of the same acts and tricks that I performed for you.
You only smiled at the side that I polished and cleaned, it looked new.
Slowly, tiredly dying by the painful game that you don't want to end...
The control breaks and the wax of my paint falls like fragments.
I was, or am, treated like an old toy that was forgotten in a sand box.
No one wants an object that's filled with marks and remarks...
Little robot toy that has been sold as something that it's not.
Kids want fake happiness to feel better about the true plot.
