Chapter 19 - Flirtatious [Frey Sanders]

Monday, lunchtime

During lunch, Frey was hardly eating, while staring at his phone, rereading the texts between him and Jenna over and over again. They had called the previous night, and Jenna had told him she knew what had happened between him and Daniel. Daniel, of course, had told her everything; including the fact he was feeling a bit confused about his feelings for two people at once.

And then she told him she still wanted to go on a date, but that she would understand if he wanted to explore his feelings for Daniel instead of that.

He reassured her he wasn't going to cancel their date, but it was a bit of a relief to know Jenna wasn't angry about him kissing Daniel—or him wanting to know what his exact feelings for Daniel are.

Daniel wasn't making things easier, constantly sending him smiles during classes they shared, or whenever they saw each other in the hallways. His smile did things to Frey.

It caused Frey to constantly think back about their kiss. He just couldn't get rid of the memory of the feelings he had while Daniel kissed him, touched him, made him feel wanted on a whole different level.

But he had other things to focus about—like his date with Jenna. They agreed to go out the next day, since Jenna was busy on Wednesday and Thursday, while Frey had a busy schedule with work and an appointment with the psychiatrist from Friday on.

But that left him with one day to come up with a date. He didn't want to be the boring guy who took her out for a drink and left it at that. He only did that if he wanted to get his date intoxicated enough to take him home—or go home with him.

He didn't want to use Jenna, he wanted to treat her the right way, and get to know her better in the same time.

After staring at the text in which they had agreed on going out on Tuesday for a long time, he dropped the phone and groaned, letting his head fall onto the table top.

"What's wrong?" Arun asked him with a light chuckle. He had been chatting away with Hendrik, James and Wes while Frey had been in his own little bubble, but all four of them were now looking at him amused.

"No match on Sparkl?" James casually asked with a grin on his face. For someone who was dating the same girl for about two years already, he was very interested in Frey's tactics to seduce girls.

It made Frey wonder if his girlfriend Kelly didn't want to have sex yet, since that was what James asked about most; how to get them to sleep with you.

"I'm not on Sparkl." Frey shrugged and shuddered at the memory of fake Vicky and the whole debacle afterwards.

"You're not on Sparkl?" Hendrik frowned, before taking a bite from his sandwich. "Still recovering from last week? What even happened?"

"I had a fun night, no strings attached, no sex involved night with Jenna. And we're going out tomorrow."

That caused Wes to choke on his drink, Arun to send him a proud smile, and James and Hendrik to frown.

"You're taking the same girl out on another date?" Wes wondered aloud. And Frey decided not to tell them Jenna and him hadn't been on an official date yet, or how she saved him from a lot of humiliation.

"And I have no idea where to take her." Frey shrugged, admitting he was at a loss whenever it came to actual romantic dates. "I don't want to send the wrong signal. I'm serious about getting to know her better..."

"What happened last week?"Hendrik laughed out a bit, leaning closer to take a look at Frey's phone screen, and therefor his conversation with Jenna. "Are you seriously going to date a girl?"

"She's really cool, okay?" Frey defended his decision. "She's a great listener, she has the same humour. We make a great team for baking cupcakes..."

"That, I can agree on." Arun nodded, since he had tasted one of the cupcakes Frey had taken to work last Saturday.

"Wait, you bake?" Wes leaned in to touch his forehead, as if checking for a temperature.

"Who are you and what have you done to Frey?" James joked, and Frey couldn't help but laugh a little.

"I'm whipped." He admitted casually, knowing he was. He just didn't tell them there was another factor complicating things. Or more so, another person.

And said person, in that exact moment, caught his eye and smiled.

And Frey felt his stomach flip, and his mind wander back to last Thursday. He really needed to stop thinking about that, or he was going to be pitching a tent in the middle of the lunchroom.

Now, that would be embarrassing.

Arun, Hendrik, James and Wes—after coming down from the initial shock—advised Frey to take Jenna on a fun date. Not so much the kind where you would sit in a restaurant and actually constantly have to keep conversation going. No, one where they would do something, so they would be busy while being able to talk.

Frey knew keeping a conversation going with Jenna wasn't too difficult. They had no trouble talking. He was just nervous for her behaviour now that she knew he was into Daniel too, and they had kissed even before he asked her out.

Why did it have to be complicated? Why couldn't it just have been Daniel who saved him Thursday? That way, he would've never gotten to know Jenna that well, right now. Maybe later, since she is Daniel's best friend.

But that's not the point; she wouldn't have been in the picture right now.

Or, why couldn't it have been Jenna who had the fake account, so Frey wouldn't have noticed how much he and Daniel had in common. He wouldn't have felt a connection with the boy; a connection that made him notice the boy differently in the first place.

But no. It had to happen in the exact same week.

And Daniel wasn't going to let things slip easily either.

He had behaved normal during P.E. while they were still in class, but right afterwards he had pulled Frey aside while the rest went to the locker rooms.

"Frey?"

"Eh... Daniel...?" Frey nervously shuffled a foot, staring towards his own feet because he couldn't look at Daniel. Not without getting lost in his eyes.

"Hannah has indeed been bugging me to invite you over for her birthday. So, eh, will you come to her birthday?"

"Do you want me to come?"

"Yes." Daniel chuckled a bit forced, and when Frey looked up, his face was red with embarrassment. "I... I said I like you, right?"

"Yeah..." Frey nodded, now feeling his face heat up to.

"Than you should know I want you to come over."

"Right... should I bring a present?"

"Actually... about that. Those cupcakes were really good and Jenna usually bakes a cake for Hannah or mom so that we don't... eh... have to buy one..." Daniel's face turned an even darker shade of red. He really felt awkward for admitting they had no money, and Frey wished he could do something to help them. "Can you, perhaps, I don't know... help out with the treats she takes to school on Thursday?"

"Sure!" Frey perked up with a smile. "I can bake something for her."

"Like, cupcakes in barbie theme? She loves barbies." Daniel chuckled, and Frey did so too.

"Yeah, but if I'm going to bake barbie-themed cupcakes, I'm forcing you to be my assistant. I'm not going to make pink shit on my own."

"Too much of a bad boy for that, are we?" Daniel smirked, Frey grinned, and then the silence that fell suddenly felt suffocating as Frey stared into his eyes.

"Well then..." Frey muttered, turning his head to stare at the locker room door. "When's the party?"

"Thursday after school."

"Are her friends from school coming over too?" They started walking to the locker rooms, both forcing an awkward conversation while Frey really just wanted to kiss him again.

"No, those come over on Saturday... I still am at a loss on what to do..."

"What do you usually do?"

"Eh, not much... she's allowed to ask five friends over, and I get them some candy and all, and they just... play around the house."

Frey bit his lip, remembering his own birthday parties, that were even more pathetic; no-one came. And he knew Julia, Victor and Rudy always invited the entire class over and their parents would get a bouncy castle and a clown and whatever other things they could think of.

Frey once—when he was a little older, and already lived in South Cedar—took 7 of his friends go karting on his birthday.

The world wasn't fair.

"So... we could... I don't know..." Frey scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

"You don't have to do anything, Frey." Daniel smiled as they reached the locker rooms and placed his hand on Frey's shoulder. "But thanks for wanting to help."

Oh, dear lord, why did he have to place his hand on Frey's shoulder? Why did he have to make physical contact?

Frey swallowed, casting his eyes down, wishing for Daniel to let go. He did, but not without trailing his hand down Frey's arm—pretending as if it's nothing, but the daring smile told Frey differently.

He was still purposefully provoking him.

And Frey just wanted to take a shower—a very cold shower—and cool down from P.E. and all this burning temptation right in front of him.

He smiled a bit, snatched his shower supplies out of his locker and hurried towards the shower area.

The problem was, since he had been staying behind with Daniel to talk about barbie-themed cupcakes and the birthday of an eight-year-old girl who considered him her friend, everybody else was done showering way ahead of him. He didn't even realise—the shower offered shower stalls instead of one big shower area—until he turned of his own shower and heard no other showers run. He did hear Daniel hum in the background, probably while dressing up after his own shower.

He dressed up for the most part in the stall, before he went over to his locker, trying not to look at Daniel—with a bare upper body and fine toned muscles.

His mouth watered at the thought he had touched that skin.

"So, Frey?" Daniel casually spoke up, causing Frey to jump in his spot a bit. "Are we going on a date, or not?"

Frey stood up straight, only to notice Daniel stepped closer, and was now right behind him. "I... well... I was... I..." Could he stop stuttering and start forming an actual answer.

"If you don't want to, just be honest about it."

"I... want to." Frey squeaked—though it was mostly caused by Daniel, grabbing his wrist to turn him around. "But..."

Daniel stopped his protest, simply by kissing him. And Frey really didn't want to kiss him, but he wanted to kiss him so badly in the same time. He just melted as soon as Daniel wrapped his arms around him, and he automatically did the same; pressing their bodies together.

Daniel made him step backwards until his back hit the lockers, and Daniel could hold Frey in place with his body.

Things were heating up quickly, and Frey couldn't stop a moan from escaping his lips when Daniel's hand cupped his dick, rubbing it with a bit of force. Just enough to heat Frey up even more.

"Da-danny..." Frey whimpered, his head against the lockers, his eyes closed, Daniel's lips kissing the skin on his throat. "Danny..."

"I'm sorry, I can't help it... I wanted to kiss you again." Daniel mumbles with a hoarse voice. "Just give me a chance... one date..."

"Just one? Is that all you—" Frey silenced as Daniel's lips cut his words off by kissing him again, and he simply couldn't stop himself from answering it.

As soon as Daniel pulled back and leaned his forehead against his, Frey smirked.

"Okay, one date."
