82: Scabbard

About a couple of months later

Author's pov:

After the Plutarkian war the prisoners, who had been needed at the battlefield after the soldiers had left the army to join the resistance movement, had got back to the prisons, old or new ones, depending on the area and the situation. One of those prisoners who had got back to the prison was Ex-Sergeant Scabbard. He had lost his title and got demoted to a regular soldier after what he had done to Carbine. In the Martian culture it was forbidden to treat a female like that, but Scabbard had avoided a death sentence for how he served the planet during the war, meaning that he had ended up for tens of years in jail. Whenever he gets back on working in the military, he does it as a soldier with a lifetime lasting ban for any kind of promotions.

"At least we got our brother back.. Even with this way.." Sapphire smiled shyly as she lifted her leg over another. "I'd prefer being free, even if it wasn't easy either as a wanted. Also not sure if this is better than Paradise.." Scabbard chuckled while sitting across from his sister on two chairs in a family room. He had his arms crossed, but he was happy to have his sister visiting him there in the prison. "Don't say that!" Sapphire sighed before she took a sip from a cup of tea. "Do you want me to stay quiet then? This whole hour that you are here?" Scabbard smirked, getting his sister to laugh and shake her head. "Would be the first time, really.." She laughed, making him laugh too.

"I can be quiet if needed.. Like back then, you know.." He said while peeking over his shoulder to see if the guards were listening to them outside a box made of hardened Martian glass that the prisons used for visiting spaces. Inside the box kind of room were only an old couch, two not so good shaped chairs, a small table but if children came to visit their parents, some board games were allowed to ask too. It had been one of the daily meal times when Sapphire had come to visit her brother, but for some reason Scabbard had only asked them to have some tea instead of getting his lunch.

"Yea.. By the way.. Stoker got to know about that back then.. I'm not sure if I told you about it" Sapphire said, making him turn to look at her again. "You didn't.. When?" He said and drank some of his tea. He didn't like it that much, so the taste made him grimace as a sign of disgust. "Not a fan of him or this tea?" Sapphire chuckled, getting him to grunt. "Neither.. Answer my question" He demanded, but then saw her turning to look at the floor. "Some time before Mars lost Brimstone to Plutarkians.." She said but instead of shouting or being angry, which surprised her, his eyes narrowed. "And he hasn't done anything for it?" He asked and got her to shake her head.

"Maybe it's because of the laws.. Graves are saints for us.." Sapphire thought while taking a sip of her tea. "Which was smart thinking from you. I got to hide much longer, even if our grandmother wasn't much company to talk with" Scabbard said while thinking of his time free before he got to join the forces again which was ironically thanking the Freedom Fighters. Sapphire had hid him in their grandmother Hayleen's tomb which was a small building as their family grave. "I miss her sometimes.. Granny was so lovely" Sapphire smiled which got him to smile warmly too. "Me too.. I agree with that, she was amazing" He said as they spoke with an almost whispering tone that the guards didn't hear anything they had talked about where he had been hiding back then.

"But I'm not sure if it's only up to the laws that he didn't do anything about it if he knew I was there.." He continued, which got her turn to look at him again from her tea cup as she remembered their late grandmother. "How so?" She had one of her eyebrows raised up when she moved her other leg down to lift both of them to the chair to curl them next to her. "As a soldier who fought at the war, I know that as a general he had much more to think about than getting me caught back then. Not forgetting his other duties in his position" Scabbard said, almost sounding understanding. "You might be right.. Even if I had some information to handle him, he had some on me too.. It was only better for both of us to stay quiet about each other" Sapphire said, but her brother's expression told her to continue.

"I got to know about his personal information, and that he hid the fact the water was running out of Mars, but he knew about what I had done with you, and that I had hacked into his devices and blackmailed him with the information I found.." She explained, getting him to chuckle and laugh. "What a shame I didn't get a roommate here from you!" He said but got her to growl at him. "I'm already in my very own personal jail, thank you" She said under her breath as he was thinking about their plans that had brought them to where they were now.

"You still love him, don't you?" He asked, which surprised her actually. Her ears moved sharply as she blushed a bit even if she tried to hide it. At the same time she felt hurt. She thought she hadn't thought Modo that much, but she couldn't lie to herself about it. "I'd say I used to, but.." She sighed deeply, making his expression soft a bit. "It hurts to see him with Jessica?" He said and got her to nod. "I am trying to move forward.. But sometimes I still wish I'd be her.." Sapphire said and leaned against her other hand on the arm rest to look away from him while still holding the cup in her other hand. Scabbard didn't say anything since he knew how his twins had always been like, especially her. But Sapphire's words got him thinking again. "Are you mad at her?" She asked, but to his own surprise, he answered the way he hadn't thought to be possible.

"No.." He said and got her eyes widened a bit before she turned to look at him. "No? But she.." The Chestnut furred female said and was clearly confused. "She did things I had always thought I couldn't ever forgive, but.. During that time I was staying at grandma's, and during my time here, I have realized that maybe I shouldn't stick in the past so much. Maybe I should go on in my life.." He started and drank his cup empty, even if it got him to grimace again. That got her chuckle because of the timing of his expression against his words. "Especially if I want to get out of here and to not come back" He said calmly before lifting his empty cup onto the small wooden-like table. She could see him being almost a different male as she had seen him last time. Almost.

"I wouldn't have ever done what she did.. And I'm not sure if I can ever forgive her.. Even if you could, which I'm truly surprised about, Scab.." Sapphire said while placing her cup on the table too. "I knew you'd say that.." He chuckled and crossed his arms again. "You even stabbed her.. You were so angry at her. So, it is hard to believe you have turned into this saint and honorable new you, brother.." She said incredulously. She just couldn't believe him changing the way he showed her now, could she? "I know I hurt her badly, and I accept it if she can't ever forgive me, neither can Carbine but I don't ask for their forgiveness" He said while scratching the side of his nose. "You.. don't?" She wasn't sure she should be worried had he hurt his head or something else.

"As long as I handle my punishment here, I am free if asked from Mars, but I see they can only see me as a criminal. But like I said, I'm getting forward in my life. I can't change the past but I can affect my future" He said with a smile on his face while his sister's eyes narrowed. "Who are you and what have you done to my brother?" She said, which got him to chuckle. "I'm still that cunning brother of yours, Sapph.. I just learned from my mistakes and that I can never get Carbine to be my own. I tried many times and here I am" He said and looked around the place which made her sigh deeply.

"She should be in here! With her stupid uncle.." She growled and crossed her arms tightly. "That's what I still agree with, though.." Scabbard chuckled and swung his tail next to his feet. He had some weights on his ankles and tail which made his tail's movements harder. It was for the time he was away from his cell. "I can't believe she got away from what she did! Or actually what Jess did.. Even if I don't want to see our sister here, I.. I feel so frustrated!" She growled but then lowered her voice and calmed down as the guards glared at her to behave. "Seeing your brother here is better then?" Scabbard chuckled but then shook his hand as a joke when she sighed and looked a bit guilty about what she had just said.

"It's all thanks to our dear sister that Carbine got away from our marriage.. I guess those hacking skills skipped me from the three of us" He shook his head but was a bit amused. "I don't know why she helped her.. They didn't even know each other before.." Sapphire snorted before continuing. "Our and her parents were so sure about Carbine and you should get married.. You two would have been a powerful couple, even in the military" She said, making him agree with her by nodding. "She has always been like that.. Jess, I mean. She has always seen something in others that we haven't. Maybe she saw that Carbine didn't love me" He said while remembering Carbine being the most against their arranged marriage when they had been young. The Volume in her voice had risen every time the topic was tried to be talked about, and she had broken a table in anger, but even that hadn't changed his opinion about wanting to marry her back then.

"And that's why she got rid of those documents and files? Both paperwork and digital, literally every single proof of it. Oh how noble of her.." Sapphire growled while remembering that time too. "I would have understood if it didn't happen because our parents weren't on the same side.. Which was a bit odd from her parents that they wanted her to marry you if thought from that perspective" She continued, making him nod again. "That was clear, but Sapph. Why do you hate Stoker so much? I understand that you hate Carbine because of what she and Jess did to me, but why him? He had nothing to do with the arrangement. I'm not even sure if he still knows about it, even though that was one thing I blackmailed her about.." Scabbard explained, making her finally realize something.

"Those messages you never explained to me when we were in that bar, now I get it!" She looked like she was doing a puzzle in her mind when she understood her brother's doings better. "Stoker, huh? He's even worse than his perfect little niece.." She growled as she lifted her knees up to hug them. "He chose her over me for that advanced class.. Where you were too, remember?" She said and got a nod from him, but his words made her stay quiet. "He actually didn't choose her over you.." He said while looking at his feet for a moment. "W- What?" She stuttered and couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"I was her prefect when she came to that group. Even if many mice thought I was her mentor, I wasn't because our ages were so close to each other. Some students mixed the words prefect and mentor which was the reason I was called her mentor unofficially even if I was really just a prefect. And by that I know she was chosen because of her talents" He said and turned to face his sister's gaze that was filled with anger and disappointment. "You didn't even bother to tell me that? Or make things back then that I'd have been chosen!" She hissed at him even if he shook his head.

"I couldn't have affected that.. And I remember that selection, she was way better than you by the scores" He said even if he knew she would go totally mad by that. "Better than me?! She's never better than me!" She growled but he didn't even flinch. He stayed calm and he was about to continue, she spoke over him. "You just wanted to get closer to her, to change her mind about that marriage! You chose that bloody Carbine over your sister!!" She shouted, which got a guard slam against the door that made a loud metallic sound that got their ears to ring. They recommended the visiting time and that the visitors needed to behave too which Scabbard answered by lifting his hand.

"Oh I get that.. Her father was foretold to become one of the Three Great Leaders of Mars.. How good for you if you got to marry his daughter, but too bad that place got taken by one of the Biker Mice.." She growled and grit her teeth together. "He was his right-hand mouse, but that wasn't the reason I was meant to marry Carbine.." Scabbard admitted, not sure if his sister would believe his words for now. "Oh sure.. Like anyone would turn their back on becoming a son-in-law of the one of the Leaders.." She snorted, but the reminder of the visiting time being about to run out, got her to calm down a bit. She hadn't come there to argue, she had come because she really missed her brother and wanted to see him.

"You are right with that, but I really wanted Carbine for who she is, not who her father was.." Scabbard said while she drank her cup of tea empty. "Alright alright.. But still I don't get why Jess helped her. You might be right about her being overly empathic but putting herself in danger by that.." Sapphire said, and Scabbard could see her to be a bit worried about their sister. Even if she had pretended to be her many times and was jealous of her getting Modo, she truly cared about her sister. "She could have been my roommate here by that.." He said, making her shake her head. "No, she would have been here alone, or worse. We would have lost her if she had got caught.. There's still a chance for that, even if it's smaller, but if you had got married to Carbine, you wouldn't have ended up doing what you did and wouldn't end up here" Sapphire said as he thought it at the same time.

"She took a big risk" He said, which she continued. "For a mouse she didn't even know earlier.." Sapphire said as she brushed her hand through her long hair that she had colored almost wholly a bluish shade from having only green ends. The Twins had had a day together to get their hair done to look more different from each other, which had also got them to become more closer again when they got a chance to talk things through, at least some of it. Jessica had got to grow her hair long again when they both got them colored differently. She had chosen a more reddish tone to it with a fading to her own color.

"They must get to know each other by that and Carbine must be in big depts for her.." Scabbard thought after smiling at her and telling her new hair looked good. "Thanks, you should see Jess' hair too! She looks gorgeous" She said with a smile before she answered him. "She probably is.. That might be why she let me be at her bachelor party, that Jessica asked if I'd come too, so we could make things up and come along" She said, which was a bit surprising for him to hear. "That's why you got to be there.. I wondered what you had done that she allowed you to come.." He thought out loud while scratching his jaw a bit. "Even if Carbine could forgive me for letting me be there after Jessica had asked her, the feeling is not mutual.." Sapphire growled and her brother could tell from her expression that she had something in her mind.

"New plan to tease the general?" He asked and got that "I didn't do it" -childish quilty look from her. "What makes you think that?" She smirked and got him to laugh. "I don't even want to hear about it, so don't bother to tell me anything more. I just want to get out of here without any troubles.." He growled back at her, getting her growl too before she dropped her ears down. "Alright.." She said but before she continued, he talked. "But even if you are on your own with that, whatever it even is, you know that I'll always care about you, sis" He smiled, which got her to smile at him too. "I care about you too.. And I know Jess does too, even if it might be difficult sometimes" She said, making him chuckle and nod as he understood.

"Could you ask her to visit me sometime? I'd like to meet her too and hear how she is.." He said while the visiting time was about to end. "Thickly.." She said and got a confused expression from him. "As thickly as at the end of pregnancy can be" Sapphire said and got him to get up fast. "What?! I didn't know I was going to become an uncle soon! Why didn't you tell me that earlier either?" He headed to hug her fast as she hugged him too. "Even if it's a baby of a Biker Mice? That's why.." She asked but he didn't seem to care about it. "If it's not the commander's, then it's fine for me. Congratulate her for me and say I want to meet that little one" He said as she was about to get up. "I will, and I will visit you whenever I can, but can't promise anything when the next time is" She sighed apologetically, which got him to nod at her. Then some noise at the door made him smile.

"It's alright, since I have other company too than only you, Sapph" He said as he turned to look at the opening door. She thought at first he had meant the guards who opened the door for her to leave this time, but to her surprise it wasn't a guard actually but another female with a tray in her hands. And the bigger surprise was that she already knew that exact female mouse. The Guards gave the female only a half an hour to visit since Sapphire had booked the whole hour visit for that day with Scabbard, but it didn't seem to bother the gray furred female.

"Sorry I'm late, I had some troubles in the kitchen!" The Female said with a smile on her face. "Don't worry, my love, I have a tens of years left to wait here" Scabbard smirked while looking at the female before turning to look back at his sister. The Dark brown haired female wore chef clothes but that wasn't the thing that got Sapphire more than confused. "Are you a new chef here?" She asked when the female lifted the tray on the table. "Yes, kinda. I have been here awhile for now" She answered before Scabbard pulled her closer to him to kiss her deeply. "W- What?!" Sapphire gasped as her eyes widened. "She's also my new girlfriend, right Mericy?" He smiled proudly at both of the females. Sapphire smiled after Mericy had kissed him back. She was blushing after getting that kind of public expression of affection.

"Right.. We have been together some time for now" Mericy smiled happily while taking Scabbard's hand in hers. He lifted her hand up to kiss her palm which got her giggling like a young girl. Sapphire's jaw dropped to the floor and it took some time for her to try to deal with that when she had to leave from the family room and the prison. "That's why he didn't eat when he could have earlier, he was waiting for the chef herself to bring his food, and the desert, I guess.." She thought while still having her eyes widened as it was hard to believe that her brother had fallen in love with Modo's older sister. Was the world about to freeze now or when Modo and the others found out?

While Sapphire left the prison after visiting her brother and meeting his surprise girlfriend she didn't even have a clue about, three other females were walking along the street of Brimstone and one of them was pushing a baby carriage in front of her. "Is he still asleep? Are you sure it is safe for us to walk here?" Harley yawned while walking next to Carbine who placed the small curtain-like blanket better closed to let her son sleep. "Not yet.. And it should be. Raiders have been seen far from here. It's alright here" She sighed as they continued walking slowly. "I'm sorry for this speed being not as good as the child of Biker Mice would maybe prefer, but with this stomach I'd rather not run.." Jessica chuckled while walking on the other side of Harley. She was over eight months pregnant now and her words got both of the females chuckle too.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he falls asleep only on a motorcycle.." Carbine sighed and did it soon again when she heard her son making some baby noises in the baby carriage. "Sounds like he agrees!" Harley laughed when Carbine bent over to see how her son was. "Not even close to sleeping.. But you can go back if you want, I have to get him to take his nap before my shift starts" Carbine said when she moved her black hair back to behind her back. "No, I'm alright. I mean we are. But how are you Harley?" Jessica smiled as they continued walking calmly.

"I'm alright.. Just tired, so maybe I should get into that carriage and you push me around" Harley laughed a bit before yawning again. Her words got the females to laugh before they looked at her worriedly. "It's the poison that makes you tired, isn't it?" Carbine asked and got a nod as an answer. "Probably, like the doctors told me, but the situation is still unclear.." Harley shrugged before changing the topic from her. "How are you? With your new job?" She smiled when they noticed that some ruins formed a shadow above them which was more than welcoming in the sunny weather. Like the weather had even been something else than sunny for a long time already..

"It's weird, but alright.. It feels like I'd be a general in a kindergarten.. Of course Sand Raiders keep us busy, and I think it's the same with the army" Carbine laughed which made them laugh too. Even Felix let out some giggle reminding sounds that got his mother to sigh again. "I can believe that, it sometimes is like one, but hey. Shouldn't you be asleep?" Harley smiled when she walked to the side of the baby carriage to take a look at her godson. "Tell him about it.." Carbine chuckled before laughing when she saw her best friend doing some funny faces to the baby boy.

"Alright! That way he never sleeps! Shush!" Carbine laughed and closed the curtain-like blanket again after calming down her son who seemed to be having a much more fun time than to have a nap. "You asked me to be the godmother to teach him some manners! So what did you expect?" Harley winked at her which got her to roll her eyes before laughing. "Goddess, save me when he's a teenager.." She sighed till she felt Jessica's hand on her shoulder. "Wait for the negative age first!" She joked, which got Harley laughing while the black haired female groaned.

"It's good that he has a godmother and an auntie where I can take him if he gets too much on my nerves.." Carbine joked which got the two of the females panic a bit before they all ended up laughing. "Alright alright.. Maybe we should be a bit more quiet to let him sleep.." Harley said while wiping a tear from her other eye. "You think so? Quiet like a mouse? In the City of Brimstone.." Jessica chuckled before she stayed with Harley who squatted down to fix her shoes while Carbine walked a bit further as she tried to get her son to sleep. Jessica sat down for a moment on a smaller piece of ruin to rest a bit too. The females would catch them up soon, but before they continued walking, they all heard a sudden howling sound.

"Don't you say.." Jessica gulped when the females froze in their places. "Maybe it's just the wind that carries the soun-" Harley said just before a group of Sand Raiders drove right in the middle of the separate Martians. "Carbine!!" Jessica shouted when Carbine moved immediately in front of her son's baby carriage. "Jessica, get behind me" Harley hurried to do the same to her pregnant friend, but her coughing told enough to the enemy about her condition to fight. "Look what we got here.." One of the raiders grinned when they stopped to the females. "Three females and two half mice.." Second one chuckled and prepared their guns loudly.

"Doesn't that make one mice? Three plus one is four mice? Why two half mice?" Another one growled as Carbine started to growl back. "At least they are not rich with brains.." She mumbled while moving all her hair behind her back. When the weather turned to windy, at least it wasn't that hot but it got her long black hair traveling in front of her view that made things harder if and when she needed to fight. "One unborn and one child.." The Second one growled before punching the other raider straight to its jaw, making him groan loudly.

"What should we do?" Jessica whispered to Harley who coughed and leaned a bit forward. "What are we going to do with these mice?" Another raider growled as they all had got their guns ready. "Follow Carbine's lead.." Harley whispered when she saw Carbine just standing still, not frozen as it might have looked like, but for real she was feeling tensed to fight at any minute. She was just following the enemy's movements to get to know how she could protect her baby with no weapons.

"Boss likes slaves.." One raider started while grinning with the others. Jessica counted seven to ten of them, but it was hard to do as completely surrounded against the ruins that they couldn't climb with bare hands. "And he doesn't do anything with half mice.." Another one grinned which got Carbine to twitch her nose. She felt too much anger to even be afraid. "Be ready.." Harley said under her cough as she kept looking at the general and the enemy. "Ready for what? All I can do is to not give birth here!" Jessica started to panic which got Harley to back up closer to her. "That's a good idea.." The raider laughed when they started to get closer to the females.

"Take those three alive! No use for the others!!" The Leader of the raider group shouted while laughing which got Carbine to grab something from the baby carriage where she also had her small bag on the lower level. "Now!!" Harley shouted when the females headed to fight against the enemy, she defended Jessica who was too frightened to fight, even if it wasn't far away from the poisoned female too. "No-one gets any closer to my son!!" Carbine shouted as she put something to her hands before pressing her knuckles in a quite familiar way.

"Get those females!" The Raider growled before Carbine faced him with her powered punch of her right fist. "Nuke Knucks?! But only Throttle had.." Jessica gasped as she saw her friend wearing the similar kind of fingerless gloves in her both hands that the late commander used to wear only on his right hand. Only difference was that Carbine's were one time use and in a color of red. "No-one touches Throttle's son!!" Carbine growled when she punched the closest raider with her right fist. "Good time to test those, but two punches for almost a dozen of enemies?!" Harley shouted at her before she got to the fight too. She had a hard time defending her and also Jessica who seemed to be too terrified to fight.

"Two are enough if used properly!" Carbine shouted back, just before she got separated from her son's baby carriage to keep the enemy, who fought against her, far from Felix. "That's right.. Jessica get yourself together! We need your help!" Harley gasped when she barely dodged a laser that lightly touched her hair. Sometimes she still coughed in the middle of the fight, but she tried to focus more on it and to not think about her weak condition. "I.. I can't.." Jessica mumbled before she got pushed aside by her friend who had no other choice in the middle of shooting. "You have to! It's the Biker Mice legacy!!" Carbine shouted as loudly as she could when she got two of the raiders down by using her tail like she had seen many times Throttle doing.

"Biker Mice?!" Some of the Sand raiders gasped when they heard the familiar name of the most legendary group of Martians. "Yes! The Partners of Biker Mice won't give up easily!!" Harley shouted when she got more courage seeing Carbine fighting as hard as she could. "Even better for the boss! Get them!!" The Leader growled while holding his bleeding nose that Carbine had punched with her powered fist. Her Nuke knucks were weaker than Throttle's since Harley didn't remember anymore how she had managed to get Throttle's that powerful and she had to adapt and improvise with Carbine's fingerless gloves.

"We get a higher price from these if we sell them!" Another one growled while drooling for the amount of money he imagined getting from the females. "Rats buys them.." The one who had troubles with counting laughed which got Harley to growl and grimace. "I have had enough of that kind, so no thanks!!" She said when she finally got her first one down before she had to hurry to help Jessica again since the enemy saw her being the easiest as she couldn't fight back and the other two females seemed to know how to fight.

"Jessica, fight back! Ouch!!" Carbine said before she got hit to her stomach from a double times larger raider than she was. "Carbine!" Harley gasped before she got pushed to the ground. "Get out of here!!" Carbine shouted when she saw a raider heading to her son that got her to get up fast and head back but then someone grabbed her tail. "No!! Felix!" Carbine screamed when she saw the raider lifting her son out of the carriage as another raider pushed her to the ground. Felix started to cry immediately when someone unfamiliar disturbed his sleep. "No!! Leave him out of this!" Harley gasped but her head got pressed against the ground too.

"Jess!" She shouted when two raiders headed to Jessica who bit her tongue to get herself to wake up and finally punch the enemy back. Unfortunately it was too late since she was so easy to get down too. "Felix!!" Carbine cried while trying to fight back when the raider tried to find out by his eyes if the baby martian could be a doable slave when he grows up. But just before the raider was about to do anything to the crying baby, they all froze from a sudden shouting. "Ride free citizens!!" Someone shouted loudly that got especially Carbine to turn her head towards the comer. "What?!" Jessica gasped when she saw it too but Harley couldn't see anything since her head was still pressed against the red ground and to the other direction.

"What's happening?!" She tried to wriggle and fight herself free but she couldn't even move her tail before all of sudden the raider on her flew away to the ground like the one who had been holding Felix in his hands. "Attack females and children like that! Disgusting!!" The comer growled as heading to help Carbine and Jessica next. "What.." Jessica was confused about the fighter too when she got free and Harley hurried to help her up from the ground after she had got up too. "Here.." The comer said when he handed Felix to his mother when Carbine ran to them as the enemy gathered themselves together from the ground.

"Thank you.." Carbine managed to say before she saw the male mouse running to fight the enemy alone again. "Are you alright?! Is Felix alright?!" Harley run to the light gray furred female with Jessica to get their group back together. "Scared, but otherwise yes, I think.." Carbine said after quickly checking him before she turned to look at the male mouse again. "I can check him when we get back, but- WHAT?!" Harley said before she saw the fighting male too.

"Is that?" Jessica asked and got a nod from Carbine. "Is he?! But how?!" Harley gasped and lifted her hand on her mouth when all she could do was just to look at the tan furred male mice whose hood had fallen over his head during the fight, revealing his face not only to the enemy but also for the females. "We need to help him.." Jessica said which got Carbine to start to look around the place. "Take Felix, Harley will protect you, take cover to that wall and run when I say so" Carbine said as she placed Felix in his carriage and moved it to Jessica.

"What are you going to do? You have one left.." Harley said as Carbine prepared her left fist's weaponry. "That's enough.." She said and swung her tail calmly behind her feet. She swiped some blood off her jaw when she followed the male mouse's fighting movements. "Hey!! Over here!" She shouted after counting the enemy, but her words were meant to the Martian male.

When he turned to look at the black haired female, he saw from her ginger colored eyes something that got him to nod before he started to run towards the females after getting the enemy to chase him. "What? No!!" Harley gasped when she moved in front of the carriage but Carbine pushed her away with her tail. "You are away Harley!" She said when she got ready too while waiting for the male and the raiders to get close enough to them. "See you at the Paradise was your plan?!" Jessica screamed but then everything happened so fast no-one could answer her not so question-like question.

"This is what you get for attacking Martians!" Carbine shouted when she jumped and punched her fist to the ruins wall when the male pushed Harley and Jessica to run straight towards it with the baby carriage. "Eat dirt suckers!" He shouted when the wall rumbled before collapsing straight onto the enemies and their vehicles, followed by a lot of sand filling the air with enemies' growling and whining, ending up in total silence.

"Carbine.. Carbine! Harley!" Jessica shouted before someone pushed her to move forward. "This way" She heard a male saying while she saw nothing but the sand dust. "Where are they?" Jessica asked when she felt a hand on her shoulder who led her away from the collapsed ruins. "Jessica! Are you alright?!" Harley gasped when they found each other a bit far from the street where they had got attacked. "I am, or I think so.. Where's-" She answered and was about to ask about Carbine who was standing next to them and checking Felix.

"Is the baby alright?" The Male asked, and Harley could see him wearing his large hood back on his head, covering his face mostly too. "Yes.. I wouldn't risk him.." Carbine said when she lifted her son back from her arms to his baby carriage after getting him to calm down too. She kept rocking the baby carriage gently when the adults just looked at each other for a while before anyone could say anything again, but then Jessica talked. "Thank you, for saving us.." She walked to shake hands with the male, who smiled at the female and nodded at all of them.

"Are you all alright?" He asked while looking at each of them one by one. "If bruises and scratches don't count.." Harley sighed when she saw Carbine being hurt the most from them. "I'm alright when my son is alright.. This is nothing" She just said when she took off her fingerless gloves since they were no use anymore. She didn't care about her own condition, only Felix's. "Nothing but bad looking wounds.. Let me check them" The Male said but when he was about to get closer to the general, she turned her back to him to check if Felix had fallen asleep again.

"Alright.. But let me take you somewhere safer at least!" He started which got Harley suspicious even if he had just saved them from the Sand raiders. "What kind of slimy guy you are?" She asked before the male could continue. "I have a bar close to here. Here, have a look" The Male chuckled as he took some flyers from his jacket's pockets that he had been giving out on the streets of the city of Brimstone before he had heard the Sand raiders attacking nearby. There was a huge "Would you like to have your best night tonight?" title on it above the bar's name. "Black Harley, huh?" Harley chuckled when she saw Jessica laughing as they looked at the flyer he gave to her. "Are you a fan of my friend or what?" Jessica asked which got the male confused. "My name is Harley" The Light Brown furred female smiled, making the male smile too. They could see only his smile under that large hood that covered his head, which made him look very shady.

"Well in that case you and your two friends get the first drinks free when you come there, but please, let me take you there now to clean yourselves up and anything you need, on the house of course. I'm the owner, Xander" The Tan furred male smiled when he pulled the hood off his head. His looks got the females eyes widened, especially Harley's. That got noticed by the male too, and soon Carbine joined them again too after being sure Felix was alright and sleeping peacefully again. "Is everything alright?" Xander said, which got Harley to shake her head a bit.

"No, I mean. You just look so familiar. Right, Jess?" Harley asked while Jessica was blushing a bit since she remembered the male clearly now too, and so did Carbine. "I didn't think I'd see you again, Ox was it?" Carbine said, which made the male turn around. His eyes widened a bit when he recognized the black haired female. "Ox?" Harley wondered when she and Jessica turned to read the flyers. The Bar seemed to be closer than the base if there would be any changes to run to the Sand raiders again.

"I wouldn't forget the stripper in my bachelor party.." Carbine said, which got Harley's eyes widened. "A Stripper?!" She blushed even a thought of it since the male was rather big sized and had a very well trained body. "Not one but two" Jessica whispered to her, making them laugh for the memory, which got the male remember it too. "Oh right! I remember your group very well.. Very well indeed.." He smirked when Carbine turned to Jessica who showed her the flyers.

"Black Harley.." Carbine sighed deeply when she saw the bar's logo that reminded of a motorcycle, and a quite familiar one to her. "Right! You are welcome too, ma'am, but unfortunately the little one is too young for that kind of fun. But today I allow you all to come there to get somewhere safe" The Male smiled when he handed a flyer to the general too, who then refused it. "No thanks.. Those mutts won't get up till we get back home.. And I don't have much free time for now. But you two can go" Carbine smiled at her friends after Xander told that there were multiple alcohol free drinks too. "I don't know.. But doesn't he look familiar to you too? Not because he was Carbine's stripper.." Harley whispered the way she tried so that the male wouldn't hear it, which got him to turn to look another direction to respect them.

"Has he stripped for you too?" Jessica asked, not understanding what she meant. That got Harley to slap her hand to her forehead before she pointed directly at the male. "He looks exactly like Throttle!" She blurted out, making the both females turn to look at him immediately, and him at them. "Or am I the only one who sees it? Instead of focusing on his muscles.." She continued before she saw Carbine dropping down her ears. She surely felt weird, but before she could say or do anything, the male's words surprised them.

"Throt-..?! Have you met my brother? Do you know him?" Xander asked, which got the females gasping in surprise. Was the male who had just saved them, more familiar than they could ever guess?! "A Brother?! Did you know Throttle had a brother?" Jessica wondered while Carbine crossed her arms after grabbing the baby carriage's handle with her tail. "No.. I did not.. Let's go girls.. This is just a waste of time. But thank you for saving us" She growled, lifted her hands back to the handle to turn the carriage around to leave, but then she saw the male again in front of her. "Wait! You must know him! He's one of the Biker Mice! Commander Throttle!" He talked so fast that the females glanced at each other before they glared at him. He didn't seem to have heard their yellings about the trio to the enemy.

"We'll deal with him, you can go Carbine" Harley said as she walked in between them. "It's alright.." Jessica said while she lifted her hand on Carbine's shoulder when she was swallowing her tears. "What? Did I say something wrong? Why did you say 'had a brother'?" The Tan furred male asked confused when Carbine turned her back halfway to him. But instead of letting Harley or Jessica say anything to him, she spoke. "I was his wife.." Carbine said and turned to face the male's very confused eyes.

"Was? Oh you were his bride! Did you get divorced this soon? I'm sorry.. But would you happen to know where he is? I have been looking for him! Is that baby his? Is he somewhere nearby?" The Male said but his words got only Carbine to look away while Jessica and Harley dropped down their ears. They felt so bad for their friend to go this through. First they got attacked and now this. This day couldn't get any worse, could it? "We can't be sure you are his brother.." Harley said before the male showed them a picture, or mainly to Carbine, that he hurried to take out his wallet. It was a picture of him and another tan furred baby mouse in a crib. That got Carbine's mouth drop down as she lifted her hand on it and she felt her eyes starting to water up.

She recognized the other baby boy immediately, even if the babies looked very much the same, but it took some time from her to turn to look at the male again. "Y- You are his brother.." She heard herself saying and felt her crying before she saw Harley handing her a tissue and Jessica petting her back gently. "Yes, his identical twin, actually" He said that got Harley's and Jessica's eyes widened again while Carbine's ears dropped down. "Do you know where he is? If you were Throttle's wife? You must know something! I got to know only that he's nowadays a hero of Mars as one of the Biker Mice, but nothing more than that.. That's why I moved to Brimstone, to look for him!" He explained but then saw Carbine's friends looking at each other with sad expressions on their faces.

"What?" He asked, not sure if he actually wanted to hear it or not. "Throttle's dead.." Carbine said even if she felt like she would break down right there right now. "W- What?!" The Male gasped, not believing what he just heard. "He.. He can't be!" His voice was trembling a bit as he saw Carbine turning to look at him. He saw from her eyes that she didn't lie. Her ginger colored eyes were full of sadness and misery, and grief. She was telling the truth. The Truth that he couldn't believe. He had just come to the street to share his bar's flyers to citizens of Brimstone and then he had accidentally met his sister-in-law who told him that the brother he had been looking for his whole life, was dead.

Only Harley looked at him with a bit of a suspicious expression on her face. "How he knew that Throttle was one of the Biker Mice and lived in Brimstone if he didn't know anything more where he was? Or where to look for him? Is he really his brother or is this just a coincidence.. A very weird one if asked from me.." She thought before she talked. She kept her eyes on the tan furred male before she turned to look at Carbine. "Unfortunately.. But.. I think we need to go now" She said while she walked to Carbine to help her to push the baby carriage. At least Felix had finally fallen asleep even if they had got attacked and he had got held by a nasty Sand raider.

"There's not much time passed on it yet.. You must understand that this is not easy for her.." Jessica said while gently rubbing her grown stomach. "I.. Of course.. But.." Xander didn't know what to say while he looked at the baby carriage when the females thanked him for saving them and wished him all the best with his new bar. They all got checked up to be alright first before Harley and Jessica walked Carbine to her work not only to be sure she was alright to do it but also that when she was working Harley would take care of Felix. But on their way there, Carbine didn't talk much after hearing her late husband had a brother she never knew about. Throttle hadn't ever even mentioned him to her. Did he know about that either or had he hid that from her? If so, why?

The News wasn't only a surprising shock for the females but also for the tan furred male dancer too. Xander really was Throttle's twin brother and he had been searching for him for his whole life. "It can't be.." Xander thought while he stayed standing there as the females walked away. When he didn't see them or hear the Sand raiders anymore, he remembered what he was doing there, even if what he had just heard was more important than those flyers of his bar. He left after being sure the enemy was truly gone too. "Did you share yours already?!" He heard someone shouting as soon he continued handing the flyers to passer-by martians far from that place, much calmer streets.

"Not yet.." He said when Zeka ran to him with empty hands. "How?! You blustered that you were the best one to share those since you own the place. Now we see who's the best" Zeka grinned as Xander continued giving the last of his flyers. "Hey, is everything alright?" He asked when Xander's mind seemed to be somewhere else and he clearly looked like he had been in some kind of fight. "Yeah.. Why? And you are right, I thought I chose the busy street.. But I prefer not to have raiders as my customers.." He said, without listening to his friend starting to show off how much better he was. But when Zeka noticed it and was about to mention it, he talked again.

"We should head back, I need to open the place soon" He added before pulling his hood back his head, to protect himself from sunlight, but when they started to head to his bar, he looked around like the hood was also protecting him for something else too. Had his brother been the reason Xander couldn't contact the Freedom Fighters when Zeka had asked him? He didn't seem to have told even his best friend about it, but why? Did he know something that probably no-one else did?

Meanwhile at the resistant movement's base

After the conversation with Harley and Jessica in one of the military base's offices, the females had thought Carbine had understood their point and had finally gotten better, and that's exactly the way she had started to behave to show the others that she was fine. She had stayed at their temporary home, where she, Felix and Harley had got to move from the military base, to take care of her a couple of months old son, and only when it was really necessary, Jessica or Harley took care of Felix if Carbine had to somewhere to go, for example to work where they had allowed her to go for maximum couple of hours at one day per a week only if the general was really needed there to help Mars getting better and to deal with the Sand raider problem. Otherwise she stayed with her son like she was supposed to. Like probably she should have now instead of working after they had got attacked and then met that male, but Carbine had insisted on having that a couple of hours escape from everything, especially those news she had just heard.

She had just got to hear she had a mystery brother-in-law, but actually the biggest change in Carbine's life had recently been that she had even resigned from the army. She had joined the Freedom Fighters as a two star general and one of the reasons for that had been to work more freely as it was the resistance movement's way, even if she knew she still couldn't step on the princess' mechanical tail or do against what Harley had demanded her to. They had talked about her career together back then and Harley had liked the idea Carbine had been wondering for some time. "Maybe it would do good for you to get some freedom from everything" Harley had said while Jessica had been talking with Princess Niv to distract her from not finding the general working at the military base. Another reason for resigning and joining the Freedom Fighters was she wanted to honor Throttle's legacy, which could also be seen in her clothing.

She had decided to wear Throttle's blue scarf he had worn around his forehead, that she had given him when he had got the promotion, wrapped around her other bicep. It was almost the only thing left from him with the red scarf he had worn around his neck, and that exact scarf Carbine would have wanted to give to Felix when he would be a bit older, but unfortunately the scarf had gone missing at some point and Carbine was afraid it had got burnt along the temporary house which seemed to be more likely. Maybe she would give the blue scarf later to their son, but so far it was a reminder for her about everything that had happened, and also that she could always remember her friends who didn't seem to truly support her anymore after what they had said to her. They had fun time on the street before the Sand raider attack where they had fought well together till the enemy had got on top of the situation and the tan furred male had first saved and then talked to them, but she still doubted her friends and their support.

Carbine acted like she didn't care about her loss, or didn't miss Throttle anymore, but the reality was the exact opposite. She was at her breaking point but after what her friends had said to her, she couldn't show it to them anymore, except there on the street with such a sudden situation and news. She tried to act brave and healthy, but when no-one was looking, she was miserable and desperate. She would have tried to continue her life if she could work normally, but without that either, with spending the whole time with mini-Throttle, she felt like she would lose her mind in any minute. She loved Felix with her whole heart, but after what happened to his father, it was more difficult for her.

The week's couple of hours allowed working time was about to end as she walked along the new Freedom Fighter base's corridor in her uniform when a fighter ran to her with a package delivery in his arms. The City of Brimstone was finally slowly getting new buildings after the war, including the new base for the Resistance movement and some new homes for example. Some parts of the outskirts and living areas for civilians were built first before the focus moved mainly to the downtowns and bigger buildings like stores or new bases for the forces. One of the reasons for that was the Sand Raiders attacks who seemed to try to continue where the Plutarkians left.

"General Carbine! This delivery has your name on it!" The young male said as he handed the package to the confused female. "Thank you, but I haven't ordered anything.." She said as she signed the paperwork that he gave to her about the delivery. "Maybe someone else is and wants to surprise you? I don't know, there wasn't any name at the sender. So it can't be delivered back" He said and left after she nodded at him. "How weird.." She thought as she opened the package as she walked to the office where she had been going to take some files back to their place. In the package was only a video tape with no text or anything written on it.

"I swear if this is a prank from rookies, I'll make them do the worst training possible.." She sighed as she prepared to watch what was in that mystery tape. But what she saw from that was something she could have never ever imagined. Her ginger colored eyes widened as she lifted her other hand to her mouth when her jaw dropped down. "W- What.." She mumbled under her breath, not being able to understand what she was seeing, but one thing was for sure. She could feel her body starting to tremble.
