81: The Daughter of Milenia and Efir

Author's pov:

Princess Niv had taken down Carbine's permission to work, but that didn't keep the two star general out of military base. Instead of going to work at the base where she had been working, she stayed at the base where she lived, to make her doings look like everyday chores if needed. "You really know what you are doing, Carbine?" Jessica asked while walking along the black haired general who was putting on her military vest as they entered the main base area. Her hair had got a new look which had got many compliments, including from Carbine before the topic had turned to her. "Not even a word about it.. Or should I put you on early maternity leave already?" She glanced at the chestnut furred female whose stomach had grown already. "That's not fair!" Jessica growled back but then got a glare from her friend. Harley joined them soon since she had come from another doctor's appointment to check her situation.

"Fair, Jessica? Do you know what is fair?!" Carbine growled as she stopped in front of her pregnant friend. Jessica saw from her eyes that she was jealous of her since Modo was still alive, they had gotten engaged and she was expecting his child. Everything she had dreamed of with Throttle. "Carbine?!" Harley gasped in shock to see her friends arguing about something that Jessica stayed silent. She didn't say anything more when Carbine hissed and dashed away to the monitors, but instead of signing herself in, she worked there without doing it. Or else the princess and other superiors who had got to know that she was working against the princess' orders.

"What should we do with you.." Jessica sighed and looked at confused Harley while heading to her own workplace after signing herself in. A few soldiers in the base made her confused looks about the general but she just shrugged her shoulders and shook her head before heading to the infirmary, Harley following right behind her to ask about that in private. Jessica was over six months pregnant which meant that she had still about four months to expect. She had wanted to stay in work for a little bit longer if her health allowed her to take care of other expecting females too.

"GET OUT OF MY SIGHT AT ONCE IF MY FACE ANNOYS YOU!!" They both could hear the black haired general shouting from almost another side of the base which made her almost drop down her file that she was about to read since she didn't have the answers for Harley's questions. They were both worried about her, but neither of them had an idea about what to do. "One moment, please" Jessica said to the nurses and patients in the room while trying to not have her eyes widened like the others had in the room. She told her coworkers that she went to check what was happening, and when she left the room with Harley, they saw Carbine shouting at a soldier who had spilled over his drink.

"Carbine?!" Harley gasped and hurried to her friend who just snorted at her. "What is it now?" She growled and lifted her hands on her waist. "You don't need to sign in to let everyone in the base know you are here! They can clearly hear you!!" Harley growled back at her which got the light gray furred female to jump a bit and twitch her ears. She turned to look away, but Harley demanded her to look back at her. Jessica saw one room near them to be empty before she pointed at Harley to notice too. "To that office, General. NOW!!" She raised her voice that surprised Carbine totally. Harley barely yelled at her, but when she did, she really meant it.

"What are you raging at the soldiers?!" Jessica asked after closing the door behind her. Harley walked closer to Carbine who headed at the other side of the room. "I.." Carbine started but the only thing she could do was to turn to look away and drop down her ears. It was the sign that showed she was crying when her shoulders started to tremble. "Carbine.." Jessica said, this time more gently. "Carbine.. If there's anything we could do.." Harley started but then faced a cold gaze from the general. "Like you wouldn't know what's wrong with me.. I lost my husband!! I have to raise my child alone while Jessica's getting married to Modo! You can have the perfect little family that I.. I always dreamed of having it with my Throttle!!" Carbine shouted while crying that got Jessica stay silent while Harley's expression turned not only displeased, but actually angry.

It took some time for them to answer. Harley saw that Jessica couldn't answer so she took some time to choose the words she'd say. "Like you are even raising Felix.." Harley said the words she knew would hurt her the most now, but Carbine clearly needed to be woken up from what had swallowed her into. "What did you just say.." She said coldly while her best friend crossed her arms. "You heard me" She said back as she tried to stay strong not only for herself or Carbine, but for all of them. "Are you telling.. Are you seriously saying that I am not raising my son?!" Carbine snapped and started to head towards Harley, whose words made her stop right there.

"I know Felix has been more at Jessica's or Mericy's place since you have been mostly working! You should be on maternity leave. You as a parent should take care of your child at home for the first three years!" Harley growled back and it got Carbine's eyes to widen up only for a short moment before she narrowed her eyes. "Why are you taking a part in this, Harley? This doesn't concern you.." Carbine said and was clearly annoyed. "Carbine.. We are just worried about you.. You must know that" Jessica said carefully but only got a glare as an answer. When she was about to say something, Harley interrupted her. "Your situation is not Jessica's fault, Carbine! She has every right to be happy!" Harley said while thinking how they would help their friend who was clearly not herself now or even alright.

"I know you must feel awful.. But Modo isn't here either.. I haven't got to tell him about our baby. Which bothers me more than you could know.. I don't know where he even is!" Jessica said but that got Carbine only even angrier. "At least you know he's alive!" She started and didn't give her friends a chance to say anything when she continued. "And oh I actually don't know how much that must bother you, Jessica. It must be really hard, but guess what.. My husband never got to know about his son because he exploded.. Right. In. Front of. MY EYES!!" She cried while being as miserable as she was angry. She was desperate and now it felt like her friends were attacking her instead of supporting and helping her. It made her collapse onto her knees on the floor.

Harley and Jessica shared concerned looks with each other before they turned to look at Carbine again. Harley sighed deeply before walking to her. She lifted her hand on her shoulder, but she just shrugged it away. That made Harley kneel down almost next to her. "Look.. We know you are having a really hard time. And you know we are here for you, whenever you need. But what happened to you doesn't mean that none of us can be happy. And especially that how you are treating Felix" Harley said which got Carbine turn to look at her a bit over her shoulder.

"I'm not saying this only as your best friend or as Felix's godmother, but also that I know neither Vinnie nor Modo would accept your behavior towards Throttle's son. They would do what I'm doing now. Maybe even worse.. Not mentioning how Throttle would react if he heard how you are treating his son" Harley continued even if it hurt her too, but she knew she had to say those words out loud. She had to wake Carbine up and get her to realize what she was doing was terribly wrong.

"So you are telling me I'm a horrible mother.." Carbine sobbed and turned her head away, but when she got up and was about to walk away, Harley's words made her stop. "Like you are barely a mother at all.." Harley said while turning to look at Jessica with a sad expression. She just kept listening since she knew if Harley couldn't talk Carbine over, then no-one would, except Throttle. So Jessica sat down on a seat near her, to hold her grown stomach as she followed her friends' verbal fighting.

"How-" Carbine started to growl while she was clearly crying when she turned around to face her friends. "How dare I? Oh easily, Carbine. I know you would do the same to me. I do this because I love you! I care about you and Felix and I only want the best for you, but you can't keep treating your son like that! He needs his mother! Jessica nor Mericy ain't the one for him!" Harley said as she saw Carbine turning her head away, but this time she wasn't about to leave the room. That made Harley walk to her to hug her tightly which got Carbine to start crying as loudly as she could after realizing what she had been doing lately.

Ever since Carbine was old enough to form memories as a child, she could remember Stoker being by her side, almost the only adult in her life. Her uncle had raised her and she remembered nothing about her own parents. She knew their names and what Stoker had ever told her, which wasn't as much as she would have probably wanted, and as an adult she had got to know about them from others she hadn't ever had a clue they would have known her parents. Mostly she heard that she reminded her parents so much, which was probably meant as a compliment, but sometimes it was the opposite meaning it hurt her, because she would have liked to know more about her parents themselves, not that she reminded others about some mice she never got to know herself. And now since Throttle wasn't there to help her to raise their son, maybe it was even more difficult for her to do it, since she knew nothing about being a mother as she never had one of her own either.

Stoker hadn't been much of a mother figure, and for some reason which Carbine didn't know as a child, he had been away for something that he had told to be important. And when he had been away and Carbine stayed home all by herself, she had started to feel frustrated, sadness and anger. Not only towards her uncle, but also towards the world. The reason was that she didn't have parents and she was mostly alone as a kid. Later on Carbine had realized that when Stoker had been away in her childhood, he had been taking care of the young Biker Mice or spending time with his girlfriend, but more likely taking care of the three boys Carbine hadn't known yet back then. Maybe if she had heard the truth earlier, she would probably have understood, or maybe.. Maybe she would probably have been jealous and even more frustrated and angry.

Throwback to Carbine's childhood

Stoker was once again leaving for something "important" as he used to say, and Carbine had to stay home to practice reading. She grimaced at her uncle when he prepared himself to get ready, told her that he would come back in a few hours and Carbine wouldn't be alone that whole time and then closed the door behind him when he left the house. Instead of staying in the living room to read a children's book she was supposed to, to keep her entertained, she ran to the closest window to see her uncle driving away with a motorcycle and after that she jumped down from the windowsill and kicked over a pair of boots of his.

Carbine was just a six year old little mouse girl, and it was a very hard time for her to be alone even for a couple of hours. Stoker knew that and felt terrible about it, but Carbine didn't know that he felt like that. She crossed her arms and huffed as she stomped past the locked front door where her uncle had just gone. She didn't know how to open the childproof lock of the door, meaning that she couldn't go outside either when her uncle was away. She was allowed to do that when he was at home, but when he was somewhere else for hours, she had to stay inside the house.

She didn't have many friends outside the kindergarten since the neighborhood where they lived didn't have many other kids as young as she was, which was one of the reasons for that she couldn't go outside to play if Stoker wasn't at home. It was for her own safety, which she didn't understand yet properly either. In a year she would start the school in the city of Brimstone which she was excited about, not only because she would get new friends, but also to get something more to do with that free time if Stoker kept disappearing for something more important than she was. But so far, she couldn't understand what on Mars would have been so important that she had to stay home alone during the weekends when she didn't go to the kindergarten.

"You are alone only that time it takes from you to read this book. So what if you surprise me by practicing to read this now while I'm away and when I come back home, we can read this as a bedtime story?" Stoker had said with a smile before leaving, which made Carbine growl and twitch her nose as a sign she was displeased. "I can read that book whenever I want! But I don't want to read it now!" Carbine cranked while having her arms crossed tightly against her. She kicked the carpet on the floor to make the corner of it fold, which got her to squat down to place it better with her hands. "That's better!" She smiled at herself, tapped the corner of the carpet a couple of times to get it to stay there, before getting up.

But smiling at a carpet that was back on the way it was supposed to be, didn't take down her anger. She glanced at the book on the living room table but instead of heading to read it, she hurried to her room to get some papers and pens for drawing. "I will write Toker a letter! To tell how angry I am!" She announced firmly as she placed the supplies on the living room's floor before laying down on the carpet. First she laid there the way she saw the book on the table all the time, but after a few minutes of staring at it and drawing and writing something on the multiple papers she had carried there, she got up and walked to grab the book from the table.

"I can read this already.." She said while looking at the cover where there were a few bunnies hopping on the field. "The Ta..les.. of.. Bun-.. ny.. Roy!" Carbine read slowly but carefully. She had a bit of challenges with reading, which was shown as slower reading and maybe it was also because of her uncle who should be more there for her than he was. "That Big-Ear Mini Fox tries to catch them but the bunnies are too fast" She giggled herself while opening the book that carried the title of "The Tales of Bunny Roy" where the oldest sibling of the group of bunnies, called Bunny Roy, saves his sibling with his smart thinking when the Martian Big-Ear Mini Fox is hunting them for her family's dinner. The Book shows kids different perspectives about life via Martian animals.

"Those bunnies are so cute.." Carbine smiled at herself while going through the pictures of the books, not bothering to focus on reading it as she was told to. "I like that orange furred one" She patted the picture of Bunny Roy's younger brother before turning to another page. "Bad foxy!" She snorted and twitched her nose before noticing smaller foxes at the corner of the page, which were hiding under her hand where she held the book. "But those babies are cute.." Carbine said while trying to read a bit, but via the pictures she understood that the mother fox was trying to take care of her babies like any creature would do.

"Oh.." She said while sitting on the floor next to the table. She held the book in her hands and soon she had forgotten her drawings that were multiple mini drawings and writings on multiple papers, a couple on each of them. The theme in them was the same, how stupid Stoker was and how angry she was at him. And as well as she forgot what she had been doing before she had ended up reading, or first mostly watching the pictures of the book and imagining more into the story, a couple of hours had gone fast after getting finally to read the book too and she realized it when someone knocked the door.

"Huh?" Carbine mumbled in surprise but before she got scared about who it would be, she heard someone opening the door after knocking again with a more familiar way she could recognize. "Grandma! Grandpa!" She shouted as she got up from the floor and ran to the door where she saw two familiar faces. "Carbine! My dear little girl!" Said a smiling female mouse in the end of her forties. She was Stoker's mother, meaning Carbine's grandmother. She lifted Carbine into her arms to hug her tightly and to greet shortly by their antennas that got Carbine giggle more about the funny feeling. "We came to see how you are doing, our little Moon warrior!" Older male mouse said and smiled at the young girl. He had called Carbine a Moon warrior ever since she was born and got her second name, Luna.

"How did you know I was alone?" Carbine hugged her grandmother tightly before she handed her to her husband, who greeted her the same way too. He was about one year older than his wife, meaning also in the end of his forties. "Your uncle called us, didn't he tell you we were coming?" He said after rubbing her nose against Carbine's nose, making her giggle and mess his hair that was almost as long as Stoker's later in that age. It was on a ponytail too, and Stoker reminded more of his father while Milenia, Carbine's mother, reminded more of their mother. Carbine reminded more of her grandmother too, as well as her own mother, but she had got her black hair from her father's side.

"No.. He just said I wouldn't be alone the whole time.." Carbine said, which got her grandparents to turn to look at each other before her grandmother sighed. "He should have been more specific.." She said but then her husband lifted down his backpack to take something from there. "We would have come here sooner but look what we needed to get you first!" He smiled while he took a small pouch from his backpack. "Purple honey berries!" Carbine almost screamed when she saw her favorite Martian berries. They were rather rare as they only grew at a certain time of the end of the spring. "I knew I remembered right these were your favorite" He smiled when he handed her the pouch before she jumped to hug him.

"Thank you, grandpa!" Carbine smiled and not even a sign of anger towards Stoker was shown anymore. "Do you like the surprise? Can we come inside?" Her grandmother smiled as she was also happy to see Carbine cheering up. "Yess!!!" Carbine laughed as she ran inside with her newest treasure. The Older female smiled at her husband when they took their jackets and shoes off and he also left his cowboy style leather hat on the hallway's rack. Soon it fell off which made him lift it to the seat there before joining his wife and his granddaughter to the living room where Carbine had run at first.

"Oh you have been drawing here" Carbine's grandmother smiled before she noticed what Carbine had actually drawn. Carbine was so excited about the berries that she didn't bother to concentrate on her drawings anymore. "Honey.." She said as her husband walked into the room. She looked concerned which got him to sigh as he sat down on a couch to look at the drawings better. "We need to talk to him, darling.." He said as worried as she was. She nodded before she forced a smile on her face when Carbine ran to her to show her pouch.

"Have you eaten any snacks yet, dear?" Her grandmother asked gently as she kneeled down to pet Carbine's black hair. "No, but can I eat these?" Carbine said and was clearly calmed down a bit. "What if grandpa makes you some good and healthy sandwiches and then you can eat your berries, little Moon warrior?" Her grandfather smiled as he placed her drawings down next to him on the couch to lean forward against his arms on his knees. "Also these red ones?" Carbine pointed at the see-through pouch where there were different purple shaded berries inside. They were almost like candy as they were sweet like ones, but they were much healthier and the red ones had a sweeter taste than the regular purple ones even if they looked like they would still be a bit raw. But instead of the color of red, purple honey berries were more blueish when they were raw.

"Yes, also the red ones" He smiled before both he and his wife ended up laughing as they held their ears from Carbine's screaming when she ran to the kitchen. "Come on grandpa! I'm hungry!!" Carbine shouted to make him laugh as he slowly got up from the couch. "But I'm old and slow.. Maybe if there's one little Moon Warrior to take my hand and help me, I'd be much faster.." He winked at his wife who lifted her hand to her mouth as she laughed at them when Carbine ran to grab his hand to pull him faster to the kitchen. "What a strong little Moon Warrior!" He gasped as he started to run too as Carbine pulled his hand. "I want sandwiches!" Carbine shouted while laughing. The Older female felt warm in her heart when she watched them prepare some snacks together, even if it meant that Carbine was telling how to do it and the male was the one who actually cooked.

While they were in the kitchen, laughing and building lovely memories together, Carbine's grandmother walked to the couch where her husband had left Carbine's drawings. She noticed the book on the floor too, but the drawings were the ones that actually got her worried. It looked so clear from the drawings and writings that Carbine was angry at Stoker for being alone. She was worried about Carbine but also about her son. It was a few years ago when they had lost Carbine's parents, Milenia and Efir, but the decision of Stoker being Carbine's guardian was made together. It was no miracle that Carbine was missing her parents and her grandmother understood that the way the little girl showed it was by cranking and misbehaving. She was too young to understand things like that and they had to be patient with her.

"You truly remind me of your mother, Carbine Luna Milian.." She sighed while looking at her grandchild giggling as her grandfather did some funny faces to her when they were eating the sandwiches he had made for all three of them. "Darling, come to eat with us! Before the snack monster eats everything.. Raw!!" He shouted before lifting his hood over his head and pointing his index finger from his mouth at the spot where the corner teeth were. That got Carbine screaming and laughing which made her grandmother laugh too. "Not the snack monster!" Carbine giggled before protecting her sandwiches with her hands with the way she tried to form a wall around them. "Does the mighty Moon Warrior need help from a mountain fairy?" Her grandmother said after wrapping a blanket from the couch around her to make wings for her.

Carbine looked so amazed about the fairy before her grandfather playfully bit her hand with his teeth fingers. That got her scream even more while laughing. "Yes, I need help!" Carbine shouted and as much as she loved playing with her grandparents, they also loved playing with her. That made especially her grandmother smile when she hurried to help her to protect their snacks against her husband's snack monster, and she could really see her own daughter in Carbine. "You really are the daughter of Milenia and Efir.." She smiled as Carbine giggled when the snack monster was beaten and turned into a bit friendlier tickle monster that would be beaten with an apringe juice.

Later, a bit after that, the little martian girl had ended up playing outside with her grandmothers till Stoker had come back home that day. And even if Carbine had been angry at her uncle for leaving her once again alone at home, she had always loved to spend time with her grandparents who she almost saw more as her parents than Stoker as her guardian who he was supposed to be.

Back to the reality

While Harley stayed in the office to talk with Carbine, Jessica had left to continue her tour to check other expecting females, but on her way to the last ones, she saw Princess Niv walking in the corridor, near the room where Harley and Carbine were. Even if Carbine had been mean to her, she didn't want her to get in any more trouble. "Hey Niv!" She shouted that Harley and Carbine could hear it as their eyes widened while the topic had turned to the general's career. "Oh hey, Jessica. How are you and the baby?" Niv smiled and walked to her, to another direction from the office where Harley took a peak if her sister were far enough so she could close and lock the door.

"We are fine, thank you" Jessica smiled and gently petted her stomach. "I'm glad to hear that. But are you still able to work?" Niv asked and got a nod as an answer. "I think a couple of weeks to a month is enough, then it's my turn to enjoy the maternity leave" She chuckled, making Niv smile too. "Enjoy it more than your night sleep.. But did you have anything else you'd have wanted to talk to me? I was about to leave for the hospital after I have got a few things done here.." Niv said, which got her to drop down her ears a bit. "I will" Jessica started before sighing. "I heard Stoker was in some kind of an accident.. I hope he'll get better soon. But actually I wanted to talk with you, only if you have time" She said which got Niv to think a bit. "Maybe I have one moment.. Since I haven't heard anything from there, he hasn't probably woken up yet.." Niv said and showed Jessica a way towards the office she and Stoker had been using for awhile. During that, Harley and Carbine sneaked their way out from the other one to head towards the base's side where they lived. Even Carbine was almost tiptoeing when they hurried away from the princess' view.

"What do you want to talk about?" Niv asked after she had closed the door behind them and she had sat in her place at the end of the table. She handed Jessica to sit there near her, which she smiled and nodded before doing it. "Actually.. I have been wanting to ask about this for a while, but well.. You know.. There has been a lot happening lately. Not only in your or my lives, but also in the whole planet" Jessica started, getting Niv's full attention since she sounded quite serious. "Do you know something about the kidnapper?" Niv asked, with a little hope in her voice, but the answer got her disappointed and sad. "Unfortunately not.. But it ain't actually far from what I wanted to discuss about with you" Jessica said, which made Niv lift up her other eyebrow.

"I wanted to ask something about Stoker.." Jessica said and then saw her crossing her arms. "What about him?" Niv asked, not sure what was waiting for her. "This is confidential and I assume it is mutual.." She added, getting a relieved sigh and nod from the chestnut furred female. "Of course. You can trust me, Princess" Jessica smiled, but Niv looked more serious to smile back. "Go on.." She said as Jessica lifted her hands on her stomach. She saw her feeling a bit uncomfortable, but she couldn't tell whether it was about the topic or her pregnancy, or even both.

"It was during the war, when the Biker Mice and General Stoker had come to the underground hospital to get checked after they had unplugged the Plutarkian Tug Transformer. I was working in that hospital with my sister and I was actually checking on Modo's family without knowing who they were till his niece came and told she had seen him and the others.." She started to explain but then saw the princess nodding at her to go to the point. "Right.. Umm.. They had lost Stoker there and Rimfire asked me if I had seen him. I remember telling him that I had seen him fast earlier, but when I was going to ask it from the others by the radios, Stoker came and grabbed the radiophone from my hand. He was so cold when he told me not to say anything.. Like he didn't want anyone to know where he had been.. And that seemed very odd to me.." Jessica explained while Niv listened to every word sharply what she said.

"Stoker has always been a bit weird if you don't really know him.." Niv said even if she had a hunch about what had happened back then. It wasn't long before she had woken up. "But then I saw something in his back pockets.." Jessica continued, making her lift her other eyebrow. "Not the way I was looking at his- No! I didn't mean that" Jessica said, which got the princess only to laugh. "I got it already, but thanks for the laugh though" She laughed which made Jessica laugh too even if it was more awkward for her. "Go on" Niv said calmly. "I saw a hospital card.. A Card that accessed the visitor to the long-term patient, especially coma patients.." She said and saw Niv turning to look down.

"I was in that hospital back then.." Niv said and kept looking down as Jessica turned to look away too to be respectful. She still felt bad about being away for so long. "I know.. You were in a coma for fourteen years.. But that wasn't my point in this.." Jessica said, getting her to lift her head up to look at her when she turned to look at her too after that. "Then what?" Niv asked, not being sure what the chestnut furred female meant or wanted. "Why did he act so suspicious if he was just visiting you? It was like none of his group knew about you.. I see if it was about the protocol, but he must have already been your partner in public since you two are married.." Jessica said but soon continued. "I understand if you can't tell me if this is meant for not my kind of ears to be heard, but this has bothered me ever since" She said while looking at Niv to get up and walk around the room. But when she stood up from her seat and Jessica was about to do the same as the respectful way, she handed her to sit back down.

"You should rest your feet, so please, sit down" Niv smiled at her, making her smile and thank her. "I know I can trust you.. At least some ways, Jessica. But you need to know that this isn't actually your business to deal with.. Stoker has every right to do the way he did.." Niv said, but then Jessica's next words made her stop walking. "Even if he threatened me?" Jessica said, which got Niv's eyes widened a bit. "He did what?" She said and sat back down on her seat. "When?" Niv said while being confused. There seemed to be something that she didn't know. "A bit before the party in the arena's ruins where you came too, remember?" She said and got a nod as an answer.

"I had asked him about the card when I had got a moment to talk with him privately.. He seemed so defensive and was almost growling at me.." Jessica started to tell. "I know some things about you, I'm quite sure you don't want anyone else to know.." Stoker had said as they had been standing in an empty hallway of the long-term patients section. He had come to visit Niv, not knowing she had woken up, but ended up seeing Jessica there which he hadn't liked at all. "What are you talking about Stoker?" Jessica had asked while being confused about the silver star general's behavior. "About what you did that involved Carbine.." He had said, which had got her only even more confused.

"How do you know about it? What does that have anything to do with this?" Jessica had said and nodded over his shoulder towards the room where Niv was. "Of course I know about it.. You seriously think that I wouldn't know things that important? That included my family member.. How naive you are, Jessica" He had spitted while crossing his arms. He stood there the way that blocked her from getting any more near his wife's room. "I don't see why you are blackmailing me about your own niece.. It would just get her more in trouble.." Jessica had said, totally confused about why she couldn't do her duty as a nurse to check his wife's condition. "She's alright, I'll be sure of that. But about you and what you did, not so much.." He growled, making her feel anxious.

"Wait what? What have you done to Carbine that.. What? I don't get it.." Niv said and saw Jessica shrugging. "Me neither.." She said and then continued telling what happened there in the corridor. "Stoker are you alright?" Jessica had asked as she was getting worried about the general with his brainwashed past. "I'm fine. But you will leave this section and you will stay quiet about what you know.. Is that clear?" Stoker had said and took a step closer to her which had got the nurse to back up. "I'll ask another nurse to check her.." She had said while turning to look down at the floor. "Good.." Stoker said and then relaxed his arms a bit. "I see why you were concerned, Jessica, but I'm sure that'll be alright. I'll talk to him as soon as possible" Niv said while thinking about the whole thing too. They would have met earlier than at the party, but had he left from the corridor after that?

"Thank you. I hope that will end up alright.." Jessica said before seeing Niv's expression softening a bit. "I'm sure you will be fine. Whatever you did back then. It can't be that serious since I don't know about it, can it?" Niv smiled, making Jessica smile a bit awkwardly too. "I trust you being so sure about it.. May I go back to my duties now?" Jessica said and got a nod as an answer. "I'll handle this, and Jessica" Niv started when they both were leaving the office. "Yes?" Jessica turned around to face the princess again. She hadn't turned her back disrespectfully to her since she had allowed her to leave.

"You know you can talk to me anytime? As a friend and as a princess. Or am I that difficult to handle?" Niv asked, making Jessica smile kindly. "I know that, but we both know what has been happening lately. I'm thankful for having this moment with you now, and no you are not a difficult person, Princess" Jessica said, making Niv laugh. "I know that I'm quite hard sometimes, so please don't try to make it sound any better" She said while placing her hair a bit better. It looked like a sort of Mohawk already. "I'm sorry. Maybe you are a bit sometimes, but I see you as an amazing princess who cares about her people. Keep your way it is" Jessica said and Niv could sense her really meaning it. "T-Thank you.. I appreciate that" Niv smiled before both of them left. Jessica headed to check the last patients of the day before her patients paperwork while Niv headed to the vehicle storage.

On her way to her bike, she started to think about her own personality. She knew she was a very challenging female to deal with, and she knew the whole planet was aware of it too. Even her doctors had to be careful with her, the latest the one who had patched her side when she had come back from Ceres. The Doctor knew that the crown princess had a hard time staying still, so they had to find a delicate way to tell her to take it easy and be aware of the wound if it started bleeding. Later on Niv had laughed at the visit of the doctor, how clever they had been.

"I suggest to you, Your Highness, that you'd start wearing a lighter colored shirt. It would be easier to see if the wound has started bleeding through the bandages" They had said and Niv had obeyed by wearing a light purple colored shirt. It really had been a smart way to say it nicely, and Niv was glad that she could trust at least most of the people around her even if she was a very challenging person and princess. But on her way to the hospital, her mind traveled back to what Jessica had told her. She had a hunch why Stoker had been very careful about who could have taken care of her when she had been in a coma, but why hadn't he allowed Jessica to be there? Had he seen her as a threat? Should Niv be more careful about the mice she let even a bit close to her?
