72: Third sister?
Author's pov:
Three days later, Modo was still sitting right by Carbine's side when she finally opened her eyes slowly after the horrible accident, like she hadn't had those way too many already in a short time period. As the latest, the fire. "Carbine.. Hey.." Modo smiled a bit while lifting his hand to hers to pet her palm gently when she looked pretty weak which she clearly felt like too. "Where.. Am I.. Is the baby.." She asked while she was about to close her eyes again. She had a hard time staying awake but she was more concerned about her baby's well being. "You are in a hospital. Your baby is alright.." Modo managed to say before she fell asleep. The Information about her baby being alright was everything she wanted to hear for now. She was given more oxygen and her wounds were also taken care of, while a nurse had been taking care of Scabbard's wounds. He had got home the next morning, or actually, he had got to be picked up to a temporary jail to wait for orders from the Commander in Chief. Stoker had tried to be informed about what had happened, but no-one had reached him so far. Neither his wife, the princess Niv.
"Has she woken up yet?" Jessica asked while entering the room to hand him a cup of relaxing tea. "Don't you say anything about how you macho mice only drink root beer.. Just drink it" She sighed while sitting next to him when he was about to talk. He just chuckled as the way to tell how she had been right. He was so sure about him and Jessica being together that if the situation was better, he would have told the whole world about their engagement already. But because the situation was what it was, they both had left the rings home just before leaving for the hospital. They had stayed there the whole time to hear at first if something happened to Carbine and her baby. They seemed to be almost the only ones there from her friends to be by her side, so where were the others during a situation like this? Was it just a coincidence? "Just a moment ago.. But fell asleep when I told her where she is now and that the baby's alright.." Modo said while lifting his arm over her shoulders to pull her into a gentle hug. He kissed her forehead when she sighed deeply. "But is she?" Jessica asked which got the big gray to sigh and drink some of the tea. "Physically.. Yes.." Modo said while they looked each other into their eyes worriedly.
"We know what's the right thing to do.." Jessica said, which got him to nod. "Are you sure?" Modo asked and received a nod from her as well. "You need to go back today.. And I'm needed more at the base too.. I'll move there with her till things get better and you come back" Jessica said that got him to sigh. "Shouldn't it be better if she moves to our house with you?" He asked, making the chestnut furred female to think. "I can't be around her all the time if I'm needed at work too.. It's better for all of us, since there are more people to be around her too.." She sighed while gently petting Carbine's palm too with Modo. Soon the doctor came to check Carbine's state again after she slowly opened her eyes again and told Jess she had some pain. She had called the doctor immediately, but the pain was nothing dangerous to her at the moment. She got more medicines and the doctor made sure she was being checked more often.
"I should probably call my sister.. About our brother.." Jessica said before sighing deeply again. "You'll do what you have to do.. He is your brother even if he has done way too many horrible things" Modo said with an emotionless tone in his voice which wasn't usual to him, but either he and she were in a difficult position. "That makes things more complicated.. I'll be right back" She said before kissing Modo's cheek and leaving the room along with the doctor too, and at the same she took the empty cups of tea away when they had drunk them. Some test results still needed to be awaited, but so far Carbine felt mostly tired when the meds kept the pain away. "Do you remember how that happened?" Modo asked when she was slowly looking around. "I was cleaning.. But when I was.. I was.. putting some flowers in the vase.. I.. They.. They exploded.." Carbine tried to explain which made him nod the way she shouldn't wear herself down. "Were they the Martian White Tail Bull's flowers?" Modo asked, making her nod weakly. "I.. I forgot.. That.. The Direct sunlight.. I.." Carbine sighed weakly while moving her head a bit better on the pillow. She didn't feel only sad but also frustrated and guilty about what had happened. "It's alright.. Did you tell that to the soldiers too?" Modo helped her to place the pillow better under her head before sitting back down. "Just.. Before.. You came.." Carbine said while looking like she would fall asleep any minute again. Her words made Modo nod and remember seeing some soldiers walking out of the hospital when he had come there with his fiancé. "Remember, it was an accident, not your fault.. Just rest.. But don't hesitate to say if you need anything" He smiled at her when she nodded again, but then the doctor came back again.
"Anything new?" Modo asked, when the doctor looked pretty serious. "Yes. Carbine" He turned to look at the light gray furred female. "You were close to getting carbon monoxide poisoning.. The Baby's state is very critical and these days let us know if the baby survives.." The Doctor said which got Carbine to gasp but breathe too much oxygen at the same which got the doctor to remove the mask from her for a moment before putting it back for the day. "Is there anything you can do?!" Modo asked while also being devastated. "Are you the father of the child?" The Doctor asked, making them turn to look at each other. "No.. He's.. The Late father's.. Bro.." Carbine said weakly, making the doctor apologize politely. "We'll do everything we can. The Medication's started and giving the oxygen is the most important now. All we can do now is just wait" The Doctor said while checking everything was as it should be, before he said that there would also be possible to get psychic help, but when Carbine would be strong enough to talk more.
"My baby.. My poor baby.." Carbine started to cry while Modo whipped her tears away. "Your baby will survive.. I'm sure Throttle won't allow the baby to join him too early.." Modo sighed deeply when she cried even more. "He would take care of our angel baby but I can't lose his only child after losing him!" Carbine cried when she turned to look at him, grabbing her hands tighter with his both hands. "Carbine.. Let's pray.. The Goddess to help us" He said when she weakly nodded while crying. He started the Martian prayer when she joined him. They prayed to the Goddess to give the baby and the mother strength to survive. If Throttle was near him to hear it as well, they prayed for him to convince the Goddess to help them. To not to take Carbine and Throttle's only child away. To let the baby be born healthy and live the best life with her mother and future friends.
Carbine has always wished to have many children and her babies to siblings to play with, but now the baby had to grow alone with her without younger siblings at all. She couldn't even think about finding another male to her, since Throttle was the only one she truly loved. He was the love of her life and her soul mate. She felt horrible and told everything about it to Modo after they ended their prayer together. "Vinnie and I lost a bro too.. But.. We can't imagine what you are going through. We can only help you with anything you need. We'll never leave your side. You are part of the family, Carbine" Modo rubbed her palm when she slowly sat up with his help. "Thank you Modo.. I appreciate that a lot.. You and Vinnie are the best bros Throttle could ever have had.." She opened her arms to him to hug her. He hugged her gently when she saw Throttle there for a moment. Both of them were so kind, polite and loving. Surely Vinnie was that too, but he was more, well, Vinnie.
"T- Throttle.." Carbine looked at the big gray who dropped his ears down while looking at her confused. "Carbine.. What are you.." He started to say when she lifted her finger on his lips. "I have missed you so much.." She sobbed before she was about to kiss him, but he grabbed her gently from her shoulders and helped her back to lay down. "Carbine.. I'm Modo.." He said, which got her to blink her eyes and realize what she was doing. She got confused, but couldn't say or do anything before the room's door opened again. "Hey! Saph wished you the best of healing.. She was sorry to hear about what happened.." Jessica entered the room when Modo sat back on his seat.
"Why do you look like you would have gotten caught about something?" She chuckled while kissing his cheek and sitting next to him on another seat. "Uh.." Modo didn't know what to say but then Carbine told her the news the doctor had told her. She was sobbing when the chestnut furred female sighed deeply. "Carbine I'm so sorry.. I am.. I hope only the best for you" She grabbed her hands in hers to help her to calm down. "I was praying with her.. Let's hope the Goddess heard us" Modo smiled a bit while looking at Carbine who dropped her ears down. She felt guilty about what she was about to do, even if she hadn't been completely herself. "That's beautifully done. I'm sure She heard you both" Jessica smiled, making them smile and nod at her. "Jess.. Could you please get me some juice or something? I have a horrible taste in my mouth after all the smoke.. I can still taste and smell it" Carbine asked, making her nod and take some snacks from her bag. Meanwhile Carbine looked at Modo with a guilty expression on her face with her ears dropped down. Modo surely saw that but didn't know how to react to it, or to what almost happened. "I actually thought that when I was on the phone. Here, eat when you feel like it" She smiled and handed her some Martian fruits and juice.
"Oh, thank you Jess.. You read my mind like.." Carbine said before starting to sob again. Modo turned to look at Jess who was sitting right next to him. "Like Harley did.." Carbine ended her sentence which was clearly difficult. "Oh Carbine.. We all miss her.. But she was your best friend.. You must feel horrible and I know your mind is fragile now but everything will get better" Jessica said while wiping her tears away. "How? And is, not was.." Carbine asked, while looking at Jessica turning to look at Modo as the way to ask for help. "We might not know it yet, but we'll help you with anything you need. Like my gray furred mama used to say, everything has its shadow but also the bright side" Modo said calmly, but it only got Carbine to lift her other eyebrow.
"What is that supposed to mean? My husband is dead, my best friend got kidnapped and might be dead too.. And my baby's health is in danger.. And you come here to tell me some phrases that you could get from the sanctuary's souvenir tea bags.." Carbine growled before starting to cough a bit. "Carbine you need to calm down.." Jessica stood up to help her to put the pillow better behind her head and back, but she just turned her head away. Modo sighed while looking at her calmly. "It means that everything has its good and bad sides.." He said, making her ears drop down. "I don't see how this has any good side.. At all.." Carbine said with emotionless tone in her voice. "It has.. You are going to have a baby, Carbine. New life who's going to continue Throttle's legacy" Jessica said, making tears start rolling down the light gray furred female's cheeks again.
"You are right.. Both of you.. I'm sorry.." Carbine said weakly while finally taking a bite from the fruits Jessica brought her. "Good to see you being better.. And it's alright.. That's what friends are for. To use them as a verbal punching back sometimes.." Modo chuckled, making the females chuckle too. "And husbands as literal.." Carbine smirked even if it did hurt her clearly. "Exactly. And since he isn't here anymore.. We'll take anything you throw at us" Jessica walked to hug her gently, while Modo smiled sadly but happily to the view when Carbine hugged her back. "But don't take that too literally.." Modo said, making her chuckle. "I can't promise you anything since you said that already" Carbine smirked, making them laugh before they started to think about leaving for today.
"Thank you for cheering me up.. I feel a bit better.. And I think this little fella feels soon too.." Carbine said while gently lifting her hands to her stomach to rub it gently. "We are happy to hear that. And we'll visit you soon again" Modo said while getting up from his seat. "Many times before you get you from here. And we'll come to get you when you do that" Jessica said, getting a smile and a nod as an answer from her. But when they were about to leave, Carbine called Modo's name to make him stop right there and turn to look at her with his fiancé.
"Yes?" He said while looking at her dropping her ears down again. "Modo.. I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have tried to kiss you.." She started to sob while feeling horrible again, like she hadn't already felt like that enough. As fast she had got to a better mood, as fast the mood had vanished. "You shouldn't.. But.. I.. I think I understand.." He sighed while looking at her. "What kiss?" Jessica narrowed her eyes while looking at both of them. "I.. I saw you being Throttle for a moment.." Carbine took a tissue he walked to give to her. "Like Jessica already said, your mind is fragile.. You have gone through too many horrible things in a short time.. Anyone would struggle with that, but you have us to help you" Modo smiled while lifting a strand of her hair behind her ear. Jessica growled a bit for the view because she didn't know what was going on, but she trusted and loved her fiancé. She'd probably got to know about that later, right? "Thank you.. Both of you.. I.. I think I should sleep now.. But.. Can you ask Niv to visit me? I'd like to talk to her about.. Surviving through hard times.." She asked while looking at Jessica, who turned to look at her again.
"Princess Niv? Why?" Jessica asked while Carbine fell asleep again after yawning loudly a few times. She and Modo left when a nurse came to her room to check her again. And while they were walking in the corridor, Modo explained to her why she probably had mentioned the princess. "I haven't heard about her a while.. I have tried to contact her through the secured line we have been told to.. But no-one is answering.." Jessica said, making the gray furred male sigh deeply. "Do you think something's wrong?" He asked, making her shrug. "I don't know.. But.. Oh hey!" She started to say before smiling to a male who walked past them at the hospital's entrance. "Hey.." The Male said before hurrying away while placing his hood better on his head.
"Where do you know that guy?" Modo asked, his eyes narrowed when he looked first at the guy but then her because soon he had walked out of sight. "A- Are you jealous? Maybe I would like to know more about that kiss between you and Carbine.." Jessica chuckled a bit with a jealous tone in her voice too but then he lifted up his other eyebrow. "That was one of the strippers we got to Carbine.. In her.. Bachelor party.." She said but then sighed for the memory of her losing Throttle too soon right after their honeymoon. "Great.." Modo rolled his eyes before walking out of the hospital. He wasn't sure what to think about anything since he was so confused about many things.
"Maybe I shouldn't have bothered him even by greeting! But.. Hey.. Modo!" Jessica said before noticing her falling behind. "Modo!" She shouted while running after him to his bike in the parking lot. She explained to him the situation which he understood, but couldn't tell even her that he also knew that exact Martian mouse. Like the situation wasn't complicated enough and now they had run to that male again. The Male had been Zeka who Vinnie knew more than just by friend level. It was his private thing and Modo didn't like to talk about anyone behind their backs, but was there something more in it too? Why Zeka had tried to cover his face like he didn't want anyone to recognize him when he went to the hospital?
On their way back to their home, to prepare everything ready for Jessica to move to the headquarters while Modo had to get ready to leave for the secondment again, she tried to contact the princess once more but no-one still answered to her from the royal hideout. That seemed quite suspicious in both of their opinions since they were allowed to contact there as the friends of the princess. But so far they didn't have much time to think about that now more than getting both of them ready. They hadn't yet told about the moving to Carbine either, but Jessica would soon tell about it to her when she would visit her again. She would also ask some of the highest generals in the headquarters about whether they knew anything about the princess either. It was very strange that even the servants or the royal advisor didn't answer as the way to take care of the royals safety to answer the contacts for them. Everything really started to seem like something had happened there but what?
Timeskip: A Few months later
"I'm very thankful for your help, Adira ma'am.. Your and the others as well" Carbine smiled weakly while she was carrying Snow in her arms in the military base. She had taken Jessica's offer after a bit of persuasion, but soon she had realized she had actually no other choices. Where else she would live if not there and now she even had one of her closest friends with her there too. Jessica had asked about it from her after she had already packed her own stuff from her and Modo's house and then she had come to visit the black haired general again in the hospital.
"Of course! I'll help anytime I can.. How is the little angel?" Adira asked when they sat on the couches of the lounge area. "Better.. She had an upset stomach last week.. But otherwise she's very energetic and.. And I'm.. exhausted.." Carbine sighed deeply while lifting Snow to sit next to her to play with her teddy, but then the little girl started to crawl back to her lap. "Alright.." Carbine sighed and lifted the girl back to her arms, trying to get her to take her nap. In such a short time period, Snow had become attached to Carbine, but was it for that they were actually cousins or did she see her as a mother figure?
"It was very nice of Mora to take care of her when you were in the hospital.. Which was a very horrible accident for you to go through after all those bad things that the Goddess had decided.. Neither do I always understand her ways but.. I'm sure everything will get better for you soon" Adira smiled while sitting next to the black haired general. She had come to keep her company while Jessica had gone to work to take care of other pregnant females as a part of her duty as a nurse. "Better? No offense Adira ma'am.. But I'm pretty sure this won't go any better again after I lost my husband.." Carbine sighed before smiling a bit at the old female mouse, who gently lifted her hand on her shoulder.
"Like my old white furred father used to say, 'Every cloud of storm always has a silver lining'! Once your storm calms down, you will feel better and the times will be better too" Adira smiled at her warmly, making her smile and nod at her too. "Hard to believe.. But.. I forgot to thank you for helping me through that time when I was trying to.. do it.." Carbine started but then tears covered the rest of her sentence. The Gray furred female understood her clearly, which got her to hug the general lovingly.
"I'll help you young adults anytime I just can.. I won't go younger from this, neither will my health, but when I'm still here, I'll help and guide you all" She smiled and handed Carbine a tissue to wipe her tears away. "Thank you.. But.. Are you alright?" Carbine asked after noticing her mentioning her health. "Yes, Carbine dear.. But don't you worry about me. I'm old and my husband is waiting for me in the Goddess' paradise. When it's my time to go, I'll be happy to see him again" Adira smiled, making Carbine sigh sadly but smile at her.
"How was he like? Modo's and Mericy's father, I mean.." Carbine asked, making now Adira sigh deeply and smile. "Dan was always very polite and kind male. Your parents learnt a lot from him. He was a great teacher and he did amazing work at his own store of mechanical body parts" Adira smiled while remembering her late husband who she had loved her whole life from the day she had met him for the first time. It had been some kind of summer dance where the late teens gathered together after the school had ended before they would go to the army or another work whichever they had decided to go. Dan had noticed Adira there and had went to ask her for a dance. Adira had found him to be very kind from the beginning and it didn't take them much time to fall in love with each other. They danced together till the Goddess decided it was Dan's time to join her to the paradise. "No wonder you two have such great children. I'm happy I get to know you all, even if I never met Dan.." Carbine smiled before lifting Snow to sleep better in her arms.
"Thank you. You are always so kind, Carbine. You are going to be a great mother when that little one comes to this world" The Old female said while gently petting Snow's brown hair. "About that actually.. I'm not sure if I'm able to take care of Snow anymore.." Carbine started to sob while looking at the little girl. "I see.." Adira said while turning to look down. "Has everything been alright with your baby lately?" She asked, making the general shrug. "I think so.. And the doctors have said so after the most critical time passed.. It was so close that I could have lost my own baby in that fire! And even if I love this little girl.. Snow keeps me awake and I'm so stressed and tired all the time.. I.. I just don't think I could continue like this anymore.. Not even if I get some help to take care of her" Carbine cried while placing Snow gently next to her so she could hug Adira tightly.
"Oh Carbine.. You know I don't judge you. I would never do that.." Adira petted her back caringly when she cried against her. Even if she hadn't said that, the old female knew what she was thinking, which was very helpful to Carbine in a painful moment like this. "I still don't have any information about her parents.. There was no message or anything when she just appeared at my doorway.. And even if I'd like to keep taking care of her and see her growing and playing with my child.. I know that I need to concentrate on my own wellbeing and Throttle's only child. I was so close to losing our child and I need to put my baby first.. I can just hope there is no damage to the baby that will last during their lifetime.." Carbine said while they ended the hug and she wiped her tears to the tissue.
"I'll help you with everything you need, dear. Just say what I could do" Adira continued petting her back when she slowly lifted Snow back to her arms. "What do you think? Should I.. Should I give her away?" Carbine sobbed, making the old female sigh deeply and pet Snow's head gently. "To the orphanage?" Adira asked and got a nod as an answer. "The Only option.. I just can't give her away to wait for a better time for me to get her back again.. She deserves a loving family who is able to take care of her.." Carbine said while crying when she just looked at Snow in her arms. "Not the only one.. I'm sure you will find out the answer for your question if you think about this over the night" Adira said, making her turn to look at her and nod while sighing deeply. "But I can contact the orphanage if you don't feel like doing it" Adira continued while getting up slowly from the couch.
"No.. You are right. I should think about it more.. I don't know if it's up to my pregnancy hormones but.. I feel like a mother already.. And abandoning a child.. Even a thought about it makes me feel horrible.." The Black haired female said which got Adira to smile a bit at her. "I see it from your eyes, Carbine. You have fallen in love with this baby.. But whatever your decision is, I'm sure it is the right one" Adira said when the black haired female got up slowly from the couch too. "Would you want to help me, to put her to sleep again? She seems too energetic to sleep every single time when she really should sleep.." Carbine chuckled when Snow was making some baby noises in her arms before she grabbed the general's long black hair to pull it as roughly as she just could.
"Ouch!!" Carbine groaned, making Adira hurry to help the small fingers off her hair. "Snow! Dear Snow, let Carbine go" She said calmly while helping Carbine to get her hair free at the same time they started to head to the general's room. "Thank you.. For a little girl, she has a good grip.. It would be really nice to know who I should thank about.." Carbine sighed while rubbing her head when the old female carried the baby into the room. "I'm sure you'll get to know it one day. But for now. It's little Snow's time to go to bed" Adira smiled while gently rocking the baby in her arms to get her to fall asleep.
It happened sooner than Carbine could ever expect which surprised her a lot. She didn't manage to say much before the baby girl had fallen asleep already in the old lady's arms. "You need to teach me that, Adira.. I still haven't learnt that that well.." She smiled when Adira put the baby in her crib on the floor level. Since they had just moved to the military base, they hadn't had time yet to get a more proper baby bed for Snow. For some reason Snow slept better in the crib where she had been found outside of Carbine's doorway but no-one couldn't explain how on Mars the crib had survived through the apartment's fire. Most of Carbine's and Vinnie's property got burnt down and destroyed badly, only a few things got saved as some kind of miracle.
"You will learn it, dear. I'm sure about that. But now I'll get you something to eat before you, my dear, go to sleep too" She smiled at her, making her smile and hugging her tightly. But during the time when Adira headed to the base's kitchen, Carbine started to feel nausea that got her to go to the bathroom. During that, someone sneaked inside to her room where Snow left alone for just a short moment to sleep in the crib.
When Carbine was coming back from the bathroom, she met Adira in the corridor with some snacks she had prepared for the tired general. "How do you feel, dear?" Adira asked gently while lifting her hand on her shoulder gently. "Horrible.. Since I still don't know what to do.. My life would be a bit easier even for a short time if I'd take her there.. And I'd leave my contacts too, to hear about her later again.. But at the same time I don't know.. I do want to know how she is when she is older, but it's so different to hear it from someone else than to raise her.. But.. When she has been around.. I have thought at least a bit less of.. Throttle.. Am I a horrible widow?" Carbine asked sadly, making the gray furred female smile understandingly at her.
"That's beautifully thought.. And I understand your thoughts might seem messy for now, but it will soon be clearer than it is now.. And Carbine.. We both know Throttle would be proud of you. He surely is when he looks at you from the paradise, so don't you ever think about that again" Modo's mother smiled before they heard something dropping down the floor in the general's room. That got both of them to freeze since it didn't sound like Snow would have caused it, especially when she was in the crib on the floor.
"Is.. Someone there?" Adira asked, making Carbine move her ears as the way to try to listen if they heard anything more coming from the room. "Not supposed to.. Anyone other than Snow.." Carbine whispered while lifting her hand on her stomach. If she wasn't pregnant and had gone through a lot of accidents lately, she would have dashed into the room immediately to check what was going on, but now she needed to concentrate on protecting her and Throttle's baby. But still, if there was a chance of Snow being in danger, she had to do something. "Go get soldiers.. There were a few from my group in the lounge area.." Carbine whispered, making Adira shake her head. "I won't leave you, Carbine dear.. You are pregnant" The Old gray furred female said, making her sigh deeply while looking straight into her eyes. That got Adira sigh too before nodding as a sign of understanding and leaving as quickly as she could.
When the black haired general was about to enter her room, someone ran out there, pushing her aside while holding something in their arms. "Hey!! What are you doing?!" Carbine gasped when she saw the comer stopping just for a small moment, but it was enough for her to notice Snow in their arms. "NOO!!" Carbine tried to run after them, but couldn't because of her grown stomach that prevented her from running fast. The Kidnapper started to run towards the closest emergency exit, making Carbine start to think about the way of stopping them. She had to do something since the soldiers hadn't yet come with Adira either.
"Not so fast!" She shouted when she grabbed the first thing from the floor that she saw, which seemed to be something that the kidnapper had dropped when they had bumped into her. At first she didn't realize what she was holding when she threw the kidnapper with it straight to their head, making them fall down the ground and drop the baby on the way. "Snow!!" She gasped while clumsily running to the baby girl who had started crying right after hitting her head to the floor, but when the kidnapper noticed it, they hurried to grab her with their tail. During that the kidnapper pushed Carbine roughly over to the floor while heading as fast as they could to the emergency exit.
"Ouch!! What on Mars?!" Carbine groaned when she fell over, but because of her grown stomach she couldn't get up fast to get after the kidnapper again. "General Carbine!" One of the soldiers shouted when they finally got there with Adira. She ran after the soldiers as fast as she could. "After them!! They took Snow!" Carbine shouted to the soldiers who ran immediately after the kidnapper when she gave the command. Two of the soldiers stayed there to help her up from the ground.
"Carbine.. Sweetie, are you alright?!" The Old female asked worriedly when Carbine groaned again while holding her lower back and stomach. "What happened?" One soldier asked after the light gray furred female nodded at Adira that she thought she was alright. "Someone went to my room when Adira and I were away just for a small moment.. She took Snow and.. Huh?" Carbine started to explain but then noticed something on the floor near her feet. "She? Did you see who the kidnapper was?" The Soldier asked while the other one started to write everything down. "Yes.. It was.. Sapphire" Carbine said seriously after she lifted something from the floor by using her tail. It was easier that way and also her lower back seemed too painful to bend over while her baby bump was on the way too.
"Sapphire?!" The Soldiers and Adira were as shocked as the general, even if at the same time Carbine was doubting her own words. She just nodded at them while looking pretty much emotionless. Then she turned to look at the thing she lifted from the ground. It was Snow's teddy bear which she had thrown the kidnapper to the head. For some reason that she hadn't noticed earlier either, the teddy bear seemed heavier and harder than it was supposed to, like there was something inside of it. The General lifted her other eyebrow up a bit for a sign of confusion, but when she was about to turn back to the others and nod at them, she felt her body starting to tremble. The Moment hit her harder than she could have imagined.
"Snow.. NOOOOO!!" She started screaming while collapsing onto her knees. She lifted the teddy against her chest before she felt Adira's arms around her. The Gray furred female leaned carefully down to her as much as she could even if it seemed pretty difficult and maybe even painful to do. "Carbine, dear. They'll get her back.." Adira said worriedly while Carbine just continued screaming in sorrow and anger. It seemed like she was in a shock, but if compared to the moment when she saw the battlefield after the explosion, she was more in this world now than back then. And this time, she felt furious instantly.
"First you took my best friend, then you took my husband, but give my daughter back, Goddess!!" Carbine shouted while crying. "Daughter?" The Soldiers looked confusingly at each other before turning to look at the female general. Adira had heard it too but didn't say a thing. Soon Carbine realized herself too what she had just said but didn't deny anything of it. At the latest now she started admitting that Snow felt more like a daughter to her than just a strange baby she just takes care of.
"I swear I'll get her back.. Sapphire will pay for what she did! Snow's better be alright when I get her back.." Carbine growled while holding Snow's teddy bear in her hands. She didn't only feel awful once again, but also very worried. They had no idea if Snow was alright after she hit her head to the floor, or after being even kidnapped. But one thing was for sure. They knew who was behind this, didn't they? Especially since Carbine could still clearly see the kidnapper's face in her mind, when the kidnapper had pushed her over to the ground.
There hadn't been much time but it was just enough for her to see their face. She had looked exactly like Sapphire, but something wasn't like it should have been. Even if the kidnapper had mostly covering clothing on them, some parts had been showing and the tattoo that was supposed to be on her shoulder wasn't there and the person couldn't be Jessica either. She had different hairstyles nowadays than her twin sister, and Jessica had the scar on her chest to her neck. But if the kidnapper was really Sapphire, wasn't she supposed to recognize Carbine or why did the general seem to look like a stranger in her eyes? Did they have a third identical sister or what was happening there? And what was inside the teddy bear which she had almost knocked out the kidnapper with?
Meanwhile somewhere unknown
Inside some deep and dark cave was a cage inside of a huge rock. And inside of the cage, someone was slowly opening their eyes. The Person was trying to say something but it came out more like mumbling instead. They were too weak even to get up in there, but with those chains they had, moving at all was very challenging too. The Person was in a horrible condition, but still could be recognized as a Martian mouse. They were slowly looking at the place with their blue eyes that told the place was still the same, like it had been already for a very long time that they couldn't even tell how long they had even been there.
"Please.. Someone.. Help.." The Person managed to say for how many times already they had lost their counts of it. Soon they fell asleep again to see a dream about their family and their friends. Those dreams kept the Martian still in this world and couldn't let them forget who they were. "I.. am.. I'm.. H- Harley.." The Female Martian mouse mumbled in her sleep while a shadow formed above her. Someone was grinning while looking at her weak condition, but where she was and with who?
