29: Destroyed planet
Author's pov:
"Carbine look out!!" Throttle shouted when they saw the enemy shooting lasers towards them after being noticed. The Lasers from the guy's guitar headed towards Carbine and a building behind her, but Throttle rushed to her by sliding his own bike to hers, making them both fall onto the ground just before the laser hit the building. Otherwise it would have probably hit her head or at least chest level.
"And that's another bike he crashed when he was with you.." Stoker rolled his eyes after Vinnie and Modo had hurried to help them up and take cover while he shot back at the enemy who disappeared as fast as he had got to their sight. "Thanks Throttle.." Carbine sighed while swiping her hands to her pants while standing next to the tan furred male. They all had moved behind some building's ruins that could still hide their group of five.
"No problem.. Maybe that was the third bike if I manage still to count them, but you are more important to us.. And to me.." He sighed while looking at her. "Put your feelings aside, Soldier. We are in the middle of war!" They heard Stoker growling while he and Vinnie shot to defend themselves. Carbine lifted her other eyebrow up while doubting his words. "Just yesterday you said.." Throttle started to say but heard a loud explosion coming behind them.
"Talk about that later, we need to move!!" Carbine shouted and sat behind Throttle before the males started to drive away from there where their spot had been noticed. Modo destroyed Carbine's bike's system after taking the critical and most important parts off it, so it wouldn't be any help for the enemy either since she couldn't drive with it again. "We need to get closer to that super villain!" Vinnie shouted while they were trying to shoot the enemy, but it was hard since he moved so fast with his own vehicle that was a cold shaded purple car that had flames all around it.
"Vinnie, Modo follow Stoker and go from the sides! Me and Throttle try to get to him behind!" Carbine commanded, making the males obey right away. "Any excuses to get us to be alone?" Throttle grinned after seeing right through her. "N-No.. Just focus on our mission! We need to find who that guy is! He's working for Plutarkians and is way too dangerous to face alone.. And he destroys whole buildings all by himself!" Carbine said, but got the male only to laugh.
"It's that Vinnie ruined our morning together right?" He said, making her sigh and turn to look away. They both were still in the mood a bit which was inappropriate for the situation and also made it rather difficult. "Not only that.. His words hurt too.." She sighed while Throttle went around the hill as unnoticed as he could while three of the others from their group dragged the enemy's attention to themselves.
"Yeah.. They did but you know he didn't mean it badly.." Throttle said while checking his bike's system to be alright while driving. "Everything alright?" The Female asked while looking around them and making sure they were still unnoticed. "Yeah yeah.. Some glitch with the lights, need to check them when we get back" He said, making her shake his head. "And with us?" She said, making him turn to look at her from his side mirror. He smirked and nodded to her, making her smile at him.
"Of course.. Nothing in this universe would come between us, Carbine" He said, making her hug him tighter while holding on to him when he drove. But when he was leaning a bit against her, they noticed a laser coming straight towards them. "No!!" Carbine gasped before the male made his bike slide again to dodge it right in time. Or at least mostly.
"Carbine your hair!" Throttle gasped when he got up from the ground since they had fallen from his bike. "Roll over!" He shouted while grabbing his gun to defend them. Carbine sighed and did as told when she noticed that the laser had hit her long black hair and the top of it was burning. "Great.. This is what I got from not sticking them under the helmet for once.." She sighed deeply after she got up from the ground to help Throttle to lift his bike back up. She didn't even want to know now how much she would have to cut from her hair, she had always liked being that long and thick.
"General Carbine!!" They heard Stoker shouting at them before the rest of their group got to them again. "What is it? We were supposed to take him from all sides!" She growled while taking her helmet off to hide her hair underneath it before putting it back on. "Do I need to take away your title as a general?!" Her uncle shouted at her, making Throttle step in front of her.
"What's with you Stoke? Let your antenna loose and explain yourself!" Throttle said, but then felt her hand on his arm, making him step aside. "I told you once to keep feelings aside and what you continued to do?! For your actions we needed to cut our mission short to head to help the civilians, just because you two were late! Is your own romance more important than your duty and planet?!" He shouted, making the tan furred male growl at him while she sighed and turned to look down at the ground.
"Make sure I won't regret the decision of moving you to the advanced group back then! You are not a fangirl who has just fallen in love, Carbine!! You are a soldier, a general!!" He continued, but then Vinnie and Modo got to them. "There's a family that needs to be taken safe.." Modo said, making Stoker nod and turn to Throttle. "You three, go, me and Carbine will continue to chase the super villain" He said, making the couple gasp and turn to look at each other before turning back to him. "Are there any problems?!" He raised his voice, making them both turn to look at each other again before turning to look down at the ground.
"No, there aren't.." Carbine sighed while keeping her head down. "Biker Mice, let's take that family to the headquarters! They'll help them there to go to the right evacuation place" Throttle said, but then felt Stoker's hand on his shoulder. "Think again, Commander. YOU will take them to the right place. You don't move your tasks to others! Is that clear?" The General said, making him nod before leaving.
"Why are you so harsh to us?! We have all the rights to love each other!" Carbine said, making him growl and get back to his bike. "Not in the middle of the battlefield.. Feelings will only get you hurt.." He said coldly while she sat behind him. "Like you would understand anything about feelings.." She growled under her breath, making him sigh deeply and continue driving. Not even she knew his deepest secret, that was also the most painful to him.
While they headed after the super villain, the Biker Mice headed to help the family to get safe from there. There was a mother and father with a young boy, probably between 3 to 5 years. His teddy had got burnt during the explosion, making Throttle hand him a new one he had found from the ground during their way to the family. "I think this one's lost its owner, maybe you'd help him to get safe?" Throttle smiled while squatting down to the kid, making him smile brightly when he got the teddy from him. He thanked him a few times while hugging the plushie tightly in his arms which made his parents smile at the commander too and thank him and his group for helping them.
"That's right! What's your name, kid? We are here to get you all safe!" Vinnie said while Modo took information down from the couple. "They were heading to the Southern evacuation center but got lost from the bigger group during a transformation to bigger vehicles.." The Gray furred male explained while taking the female to sit behind him on his bike while the male sat behind Vinnie on his.
"To the South?! But that's almost half a planet away.." Vinnie sighed, making his ears drop down. "We need to get them there.. C'mon little guy! Soon you're safe!" Throttle said while lifting the young boy to sit in front of him on his bike, to cover him with his own body if something happened. He also wrapped his tail around him just in case he didn't know how to hold on a motorcycle, especially when he looked like he sat on one for the first time. Throttle would easily see it from his bright and excited eyes and smile, which made him smile too while looking at the young boy.
"I'll inform the generals while we leave.." The Commander said but soon heard a peep in his helmet. "No need, Commander. I hear you clearly" Carbine said, making him smile. "Glad to hear your voice, babe.. Are you alright?" He said, but got a surprisingly cold answer from her. "We got some groups ready to cover your way to the South. Get there as soon as possible, the center is waiting for the family to get there during this day" She said, making him a bit surprised.
"During this day?! With bikes!" Vinnie gasped once he and Modo also heard her voice in their helmets by some kind of radio signal. She was controlling the connections from Stoker's device he had brought with him. "Yes, is that a problem? Or ain't you the fastest soldiers on Mars after all, Biker Mice?" She said while a tear was rolling down her cheek which she whipped away fast. It hurt her to send the male he loved away from her, but she knew her duty and that family needed to get to safety as soon as possible, and no-one would do it better than the trio.
"Put your feelings aside.. Put your feelings aside.." She repeated a few times in her mind while sitting behind her uncle on his bike and taking a couple of deep breaths. She had just heard from Stoker's bike's radio that the situation had gotten worse on the whole planet and they were very close to a complete destruction. She knew that there wasn't time for any romantic feelings, or feelings at all, for now..
"No, it isn't.. We are already going, Carbine ma'am!" Modo said while they were driving in a triangle formation, Throttle in the middle and in front of them. "Good.. And remember to do regular reports straight to me, Commander" She said with a bit of a smile that could be heard from her voice. Then she shut her connections to Vinnie and Modo while making sure neither Stoker heard her while talking to the tan furred male.
"Yes, of course General.." He said, without knowing what she had just done. "And Throttle.." She said, making him smile when he heard her saying his name. "Carbine?" He said carefully, not sure what he should say. "You did amazing with that kid.. Stay safe.." She said, making him sigh when he heard from her voice that she was sobbing. He didn't know how she had actually seen them, but probably they haven't gotten far yet. "Hey babe.. Someday.. Someday we will have our own too! I promise you!" He smiled while they got past some sand raiders after having to defend themselves and the family with them. That made Throttle move behind the two motorcycles to take cover their, and especially the civilians backs, if the enemy appeared behind them. But their group was still driving in the triangle formation.
"Let's talk about that later.. The Connection's getting weaker once you get out of Brimstone.." Carbine said and was about to shut it down, but he growled at her to not do it yet. "What now?" She said, making him roll his eyes. Even just through the radio, he could notice her being hurt which made him frustrated and sad. "Don't cry babe.. Even if I'm not there now, I'll be right by your side! I'll get back before you even notice you miss me.." He said, but then heard her sighing deeply.
"But I miss you already.." She said, making him sigh and nod like she was there to see it. "I miss you too.. And Carbine.." He said but then heard his helmet beeping at the meaning of the connection was about to shut down. "Mmh?" He heard her saying just before there was one louder beep more. "I.. love.. you.. Carb-.." He said just before the connection got out of reach. "I love you too.." She sighed even if she was quite sure he didn't hear her anymore. She whipped her tears away before noticing her uncle glaring at her.
"Use that one more time for private calls and I'm not your only problem anymore.." He said while looking at her from the side mirror of his bike. "What's your problem?!" She growled, making him turn to look back where they were going. He didn't answer her, which made her a bit worried about him. He had acted so weird during this mission. The Way he would never act since he had always liked Carbine and Throttle being a couple and actually it was also thanking him that they finally got together since they had ended up in the same group.
"Besides.. I gave him some more details about getting to the South safely.. That was the best way to make sure the enemy didn't listen to us without us noticing it too.." She lied to him while growling, making him just sigh and nod. But then for all of a sudden they actually found the super villain, some kind of rock star leaning against his vehicle while taking a break from destroying the city. Or maybe he ran out of fuel or a string cut off from his guitar, they didn't know or even cared what the reason really was..
"Watch out, Carbine.." Stoker said and when they got to his bike, his niece had practically jumped off the bike to run to the villain while pointing a gun towards him. "Hands up and don't even try anything!" She shouted, but the villain reached his guitar fast and played a riff which made it shoot right in front of her feet to the ground. She jumped a bit back while still holding her gun to him. At the same time Stoker prepared his gun ready too while taking a careful look at their enemy.
"The Mission is done.." They only heard the guy saying coldly to some kind of radio system too before he got to his car and dashed away from the mice. "Did he just.." Carbine said but then saw Stoker shooting straight to the car's tires before reporting about it to another group that headed straight away to the crashed vehicle. "Hard Rock, huh?" She said after lifting up the villain's transportation coding from the ground which he had dropped at some point. The Card looked like the way the super villains got called around the galaxy, but would they get even back without it?
"Clear your mind in the base, Carbine.." He said with his normal tone, making her turn to look at him before she handed him the code, making him nod and put it into one of his pockets. "Uncle's advice.. Before you can't focus on work anymore.. But this was a good find though! We can search for some information about him in the base.." He said, making her sigh deeply and walk back to his bike.
"Get me a transfer, Stoker.." She said, making even him surprised. "Are you sure?" He said and saw her nodding. "You are right.. I can't focus on clearly now.." She said, making him smile and nod. "Alright.. Get ready to leave immediately when we get back, I'll report it to another regiment" He said, making her sigh deeply while turning to look at the sky. She saw the both Martian moons, Phobos and Deimos, over there in the bright sky. "Sorry, Throttle.." She sighed deeply while swallowing her tears. Meanwhile at the South when the Biker Mice had said goodbyes to the family, they were starting to head back to the city of Brimstone when they got a call from their mentor.
"What's up, Old Timer? Run out of fuel and need to push, huh?" Vinnie chuckled while Throttle's thoughts were at that young boy that was so adorable and full of life even if living in the middle of warfare. "News, bros! Stay there and report to the closest general you see over there! I'll be there soon too and we'll continue helping there. Got the order from superiors!" He said, making their all eyes widen up.
"What about Brimstone? Is Carbine still there?" Throttle asked while they sat on their bikes. "She's alright.. Was about to get a transfer first but then they heard about your group and me.. We are needed there more and she stays here on Brimstone. I'll be there during the night!" Stoker said before quitting the connection, leaving the males just to stare at each other.
"But.." Vinnie was at least this one time speechless while he turned to look down at the ground. "Jessica and Harley.." Modo said what the white furred male was thinking too. "Orders are orders.. Let's find that general, bros" Throttle sighed while deeply inside of him he was furious at the army and their orders. When the night fell above the South and the trio had found an underground base where they met the others in that regiment, they heard the hidden doorway opening before they saw their mentor driving in the base.
"Finally! We thought the raiders got you.." Vinnie smirked, making him chuckle. "I might be older than you but still in better shape, Punk!" He grinned, making them laugh. "Any news, Stoker?" Throttle said, making him hand him a light blue scarf from his sleeve while Vinnie was still arguing about who was in the best shape. "Carbine sent this to you" He said and smiled at him understandingly. "Thanks.. But I meant the situation above.." He said before wrapping the scarf back around his forehead after sniffing her scent from it which made him sigh and smile sadly. He hadn't even noticed the scarf had fallen down when he had picked up the young boy before leaving, but he was sure she had got there to pick it up for him.
"Everyone, ears here!!" Stoker raised his voice, making the whole base turn to look at them now. "Situation has gotten worse all around Mars! Especially the South which has taken the most damage so far. That's why me and my bros, the Biker Mice, got sent here to help you!" He said, but then Vinnie talked over him, stealing the whole show to himself, which actually didn't surprise the general at all. It actually made him smile a bit when he remembered something from that rascal's youth that had been the exact opposite than now.
"We'll take back what's ours and send those Fish Faces back to where they came from, right everyone?!" He shouted, making them all agree with him and raise their fists up in the air after he had done that first. But during that, Stoker sighed deeply since that information wasn't everything he had heard from above. But the rest of it he kept to himself since he saw it was the best for the others to not know yet or it would probably take down their willingness to fight..
Stoker's pov:
After me and my bros had got the brief about the situation here on the South, the Biker Mice had joined the fight above the underground army base while I got some contacts to make with the generals computers. "Everything alright here, uncle?" Carbine said while looking at me through the video call. "Would be better.. I wonder why that family was sent here in the first place.. Brimstone is like paradise if compared to here.." I thought in my mind but didn't say it out loud since I knew it would get her worried.
"Yeah.. There?" I asked, making her sigh and lean against her other hand, her elbow on the devices table. "Got a warning from a higher general.. Otherwise yes.." She rolled her eyes, making me chuckle. "Told you.." I said, making her glare at me while crossing her arms and leaning backwards against her seat's backrest. "But I hear something worse too.. It's the Commander in Chief.." She said, making my eyes widen.
"Don't you say he.." I said, making her shake her head. "No.. Not yet.. But he still hadn't woken up from the coma either.. The Doctors can't say anything when he wakes up.. Or will he even.." She sighed while turning to look away. A Couple of soldiers brought her some files that made her twitch her nose before taking them and telling them to go get something to eat during their break.
"Paper works, huh?" I smirked while nodding towards the monitor. "Sanctions I got with the warning.." She sighed, making me nod and get back to the subject. "He will wake up.. And hopefully soon" I said, making her turn to look at me again. "He'll better be.. But before that it's our generals duty to take care of everything! Especially yours.. With the government of course.." She smiled, making me nod at her. "Yes, yes.. No pressure then.." I said, making her chuckle and nod.
"It needs some brains to take care of the frontline.." She said, making me chuckle this time. "Agreed.. Vinnie wouldn't do fine yet in this place.." I said, but then heard a familiar voice behind me. "Wouldn't say that either, Stoker.." Harley said, making me turn around to look at her. "When did you get here?! Last time I saw you, you were close to the border while laying on the hospital bed.." I said but then heard Carbine laughing on the monitor.
"She was the first nurse from here to get to help you guys with the nurses you have there.. Barely even got out of the hospital yet.." Carbine said, making her laugh. "Still healing, General.. But I'll get better once I get back to work.. You know.. The Soldiers need patching more often than me or any other nurse.." She said, making me chuckle and nod.
"Agreed.. But the nurses' situation is worse in Brimstone than here.." I said, but then turned back to the monitor. "Good to see you got there safely too, Harley.. Sad to lose a good nurse but the guys need your team there more now.. You might have gotten the Biker Mice there but you also got the worst accident magnets too!" She laughed but I actually saw her being hurt since she didn't get a proper chance to say goodbyes to Throttle.
"Since they aren't here now, I assume they are still alright.." Harley said, making me chuckle. "Knock the wood.." I smirked, but then felt her hand knocking my head, making all three of us start laughing. "There might be one in me but not the level that high.." I smirked at her, making her roll her eyes. "Right.." She laughed before Carbine got an alarm there. "Take care of the guys and yourselves! I need to go now!" She said, making both of us nod at her.
"Take care!" Harley waved at her before the black haired female ran away from the monitor and the connection shut down. "You know it's her duty to keep you pleased instead of mine.." Harley sighed, making me turn to look at her. "Anything new?" I asked hopefully, making her shake her head. "I survived less, if compared to her.." She sighed and leaned against a table behind her.
"I know.." I sighed deeply while turning to look away. "Sorry Stoker.. I know you miss her too.. So do I.." She sighed before hugging me tightly. I sighed and nodded before hugging her too. "Just got here and already got a female to himself.. Huh, Old Timer?" I heard Vinnie's voice saying, making us separate from each other before Harley turned to look at the Biker Mice who had just got back to the base.
"Harley?!" He gasped while looking at the female who gently smiled at him. "Hey Vinnie.. Throttle and Modo.." She said, making the white furred male growl. "You already ran to him, huh? Didn't even care to inform me you got out of the hospital?" He said coldly, making the female's eyes widen up. "Vinnie I.." She started but he didn't give her time to talk when he lifted his other hand up.
"No.. Don't say anything.. If you don't care about me that's fine.. But just say it! I thought we had something but you swapped me for that Barely-Still-Working-Hound!!" He shouted before dashing away, leaving Harley just to stare at his back when he had left. "What's with him?" I snorted, making Throttle and Modo turn to look at each other before shrugging.
"Right.. If that's really what he thinks.. Fine!! He can patch his own wounds then!!" Harley shouted after the white furred male who slammed a door behind him when he got to the other room. That made the female even more frustrated before she dashed away too. "What a reunion.." Modo sighed, making Throttle rub the back of his neck and sigh. "You said it, Big Fella.." He said before they nodded at me that they'd go after Vinnie. I nodded back at them before turning back to the computer.
I sighed deeply while taking my wallet out of my pocket. I took a picture from it which I gently rubbed with my other thumb. "Maybe I should have explained why Harley hugged me.. But you know why I couldn't do that.. She's the only one who knows about you.." I said while rubbing the picture gently. "For better or worse.." I read the text under the picture quietly out loud before I heard some soldiers shouting my name to get back to the field with them, which made me hide the picture back in my wallet before stuffing it back into my pocket while walking to the bike storage.
As a high titled General, there were a lot of things I couldn't tell my underlings, but there was also much personal stuff I hadn't gotten used to talking to anyone. Most of them were very painful, except the biggest tragedy in my life so far and probably will ever be. I knew I regret many things in my life, but there were still a few things I still could do something about them while some of them couldn't be fixed any longer. Some of those things hurt me the most which probably had been some of the reasons I had decided to take care of those three mamma jammas when they had been younger..
That was one of the many things I tried to compensate for after what had happened. But the thing I regret the most was that I wasn't there to protect her enough.. And now the same thing was about to happen to one of the males that I had practically even raised.. Or maybe even to all three of them, which made me more frustrated. How could I get the history to not repeat itself? And how on Mars I was supposed to keep the other big thing as a secret that included the whole planet?! But one thing I knew for sure that I needed to make some huge decisions, and quickly.. Even if those decisions didn't include only myself..
