Author's pov:

While the Biker Mice had driven away from Stoker's place to join the search group that was trying to find the Sergeant Scabbard, Carbine who had decided to move to her uncle's place, had heard a discussion she wasn't mentioned to hear. Or at last she thought otherwise.

"Planet Plutark? What do you want from us? I assume this is wrong signal you are calling.." Stoker said while crossing his arms and lifting his leg over the other one. "No! No! This is Mars I am calling, right? Then it is the right signal! But my words need to reach the Government, so who are you, a fellow neighbor?" The Stranger said at the video call.

Stoker raised his other eyebrow and chuckled. "Like I should tell you.. You are not even showing me your face and you call us your neighbor.. Where are your manners? It's not polite here not to introduce yourself first" Stoker coughed. "Excuse me about my manners, mister mouse! Let me introduce myself. My name is Leo Stilton! I'm the first son Dominic T. Stilton, who is the commander of our forces" The Stranger said while Carbine slowly opened the door a bit more to take a peak about the conversation. Meanwhile the caller, who introduced him as Leo Stilton, moved his camera for a better spot so Stoker would see him better.

He didn't jump even a bit when he saw the looks of the caller, but it did make Carbine jump a bit behind the door. She lifted her hand on her mouth to not make any noise, but she had got surprised about that specific alien fish who looked like a monster from old tales that used to be told to children to not go to the forbidden lakes without adults. That view brought those stories back into her mind very clearly even if she had heard them last time when she had been visiting a local kindergarten to pick up Rimfire when they were younger and she had to babysit him when Modo or his parents couldn't. Now Rimfire was close to teenage which meant that she had heard the story last time many years ago.

Then other memories hit her again. When Mace landed on Mars and had accidentally attacked her at first, he had mentioned Plutark and Plutarkians. "Those guys attacked his planet.. That must be what he was talking about.." Carbine thought to herself while peeking behind the doorway. "Ceres.. was it his planet's name.." She thought but then heard her uncle talking.

"So.. Leo Stilton.. If that was your name.. Why did you contact us?" Stoker said but the caller shook his head. "I assume that you tell me your name too. Are you part of the Martian Government?" Leo Stilton said and didn't look quite pleased about the way Stoker was acting. "No.." Stoker said and fixed his position. He leaned against the table and said politely. "I'm a silver star general in our forces.. The Name is Stoker" He said and had much courage in his voice.

"And who are you with?" The Alien fish asked and nodded towards the doorway which made Stoker raise his other eyebrow and turn around in his chair. "Carbine.." He said but before she closed the door behind her, she twitched her nose which Stoker noticed immediately. After she closed the door, he turned around. "My apologies, she is just very curious and protective.." He explained but was very careful with his words.

"Part of your family?" The Caller asked, but the male mouse didn't answer. "About your need for this call.. I can't let you to contact our government if you don't tell me first what are you up to.." Stoker said and crossed his arms again. He heard Carbine walking upstairs. "We would like to co-operate with Mars! But that's all I can tell you.. I have my own orders and the message needs to be told the person who is leading Mars" Leo said and snorted.

"Fine.. I'll make sure that the right people hear about this. Call to this signal after an hour and half in our time, if you can count that from the Sun.." Stoker said and smirked. "But.. Sure.. I'll figure that out! Thank you, Mister Stoker!" Leo said making Stoker just chuckle before hanging the call. After that he made sure no-one was trying to contact him before he headed his way upstairs.

"Carbine! What is it?!" He hurried his way to the living room where he saw his niece walking around the room nervously. "What did they want.." She asked and turned to look at him. "Some co-operation and permission to talk with the government.." Stoker explained making her shake her head. "He lies.." She said making her uncle lift his other eyebrow.

"Remember Mace?" She asked and he nodded right away. "When he got here.. He told me that Plutarkians had attacked his planet.. Ceres.. Where Mars once sent citizens to live.." Carbine said making him look back at her oddly. "Ceres? Never heard of.." He said making her shake her head. "Me either.. But Plutarkians are no good! They stole everything from Ceres!" She said making her uncle think a bit.

"I still need to get this to the superiors.. I have an hour and half to go.." Stoker said while looking at his niece. Then he grinned. "You still do that.." He said making her smile a bit. "You remembered it.." She laughed making him laugh and nod. "Of course I know everything about you.. I have practically raised you.." He said and then got a bit depressed. Carbine sighed too and nodded. "Since my parents died.. I know.. I appreciate everything you have done to me" She said making him smile again. "So of course I remember every single habit you have.. You twitch your nose every time you don't like something.. That was a good message, I'm sure the caller didn't even notice it" Stoker said making her nod.

"Or if they did.. They don't know what it means.." Carbine smiled and then thought again. "I have an idea.." She said while Stoker sat on the couch. He turned to look at her. "You deliver the message to the government and I'll make sure the Commander in Chief hears it too.." She said making him raise his other eyebrow.

"They might not share it publicly and the army needs to know what happens.. or is going to happen!" Carbine explained making Stoker get up. "But I need to look after you while the others are searching!" He said while Carbine walked the upstairs. "We have no time for that! I take my meds and hurry to the Chief! When you handle the signal, make sure my device finds it secretly too!" Carbine shouted in her room while packing some stuff in her bag and changing her clothes to her uniform.

"You are on sick leave! You are not going anywhere!!" Stoker said when he got in front of the stairs when she was coming back down. But she jumped over him even if it did hurt her a bit. "Stop it.. You know this is more important! So do as I say!! I'll grab the other bike and inform the Biker Mice on the way" She said while putting a helmet on her head already.

Stoker just chuckled while shaking his head. "You are so stubborn.." He said making her smile. "And from who did I get that from?" She said and then grabbed the keys from the drawer. "Definitely from your mother.. She was a tough one too, but now go already! You need to make it there fast! I'll go to the Government's house!" Stoker said and packed some stuff from his bag too before locking and leaving his house.

While they were preparing their bikes outside, Stoker turned to look at her. "Be careful.. And call me immediately if something happens, we need to be ready if someone sees any signs of Scabbard too.." He said making her nod. "You know everything about me except that.." Carbine thought and sighed before leaving towards the Moon Village while Stoker headed to Brimstone.

"Throttle! Throttle answer me!!" Carbine repeated while driving. It took a moment to get an answer from him. She used the mobile that was on the bike and was connected to the helmet, which was very common in Martian bikes. "Carbine! Nice to hear from you. What's up? Did you manage to rest? Wait.. Am I hearing a bike?! Are you driving?!" Throttle talked into his own helmet.

"I don't have time to explain. Meet me at our base immediately! I'll be there in an hour! Get Vinnie and Modo there too!!" Carbine said but that made him even more worried. "What's happening? Carbine.. You make me really worried.. Are you okay?" He said making her smile and sigh. "That's very kind of you but seriously there's no time for that.. Stoker left for the Brimstone to meet the Government. Something very serious is about to happen! He got contact from Plutark!" Carbine explained while driving fast. Stoker's house was at the border of Moon Village and Brimstone, but there was still much to drive.

"What? Plutark?! I'm not sure if I got everything but we'll get there soon! You said the base, right?" Throttle said making her nod even if he couldn't see it. "Right! Come there and if you are there before me, make sure there is no-one else in the device room! I'll bring the Commander in Chief there too. I need to quit now to call him. See you there! Be safe!" Carbine said and then ended the call, leaving him much more confused than he was a moment ago. After that Carbine called the Commander in Chief and explained everything, just to make sure he gets there too if he isn't there already.

One hour later at the army base:

"Carbine you really should be resting.." Throttle said when Carbine finally got to the base. "Leave that later! I need to get this connected to the device.. I don't have much time!" Carbine said after entering the device room. She took her helmet off and handed it to Vinnie who was sitting at a chair. "Move it!" Carbine demanded making him get up immediately and move away from her.

"What is this about? Throttle told everything you said on the phone but it wasn't much.." Modo said while leaning against the room. "You'll hear soon.. Where's the Chief?" Carbine asked while starting to connect her own devices to the main ones. "Hasn't come yet.. There were just a few soldiers when we got here.." Throttle said and sat on a chair next to her. "Anything I can do to help?" He asked but then got a few parts of the device on his lap.

"Connect those! And Modo, check the main one that everything goes right. We need to be quick. Vinnie you go out and make sure everyone leaves here, and if the Chief comes, tell him that we are here!" Carbine said fast while working already.

"You really are as stubborn as your uncle.." The Commander in Chief said after entering the room. "Commander in Chief! Nice to meet you, but I have no time for chit-chat.." Carbine said after nodding to him, then she turned around and continued connecting the device with Throttle. "She really reminds us about her parents.. And I thought Stoker was a male copy from her mother.." A Soldier, who had come with the Chief, said. He was older than Stoker, almost as old as the Chief was, and had a platinum star general medal on his chest.

Words about her parents made her freeze a bit, but when Throttle lifted his hand on hers, she turned to look at him. "It's okay.." He said making her nod. It was hard for her to talk about her parents. "You knew them?" She just said and turned to look at the soldier, with the way she didn't want to talk about the topic right now. So he just nodded to her and left the topic.

"Vinnie, lock the doors after everyone has left" The Commander in Chief said while looking at the white mouse walking around the other rooms to tell those few soldiers to leave. He told them that was an order from the Chief which made them move pretty quickly and not underestimate it at all. "You know that's almost an illegal thing to do?" Chief said after he had locked the door and walked back.

"My apologies.. They wouldn't leave otherwise.." Vinnie said but then Carbine spoke. "I told him to say that.." She started to speak but then she got the connection. "Yes!! Good job everyone!" She smiled and hugged Throttle while giving high five to Modo. "Now I need to hack the system.." She said making the Chief raise his other eyebrow.

"I see that her promotion was a really good thing to do.." The Soldier said making the Chief chuckle. "It's rare to see her on duty.. I'm not regretting anything.." He said making the female blush a bit. "Th-Thank you, Commander in Chief" She said while Throttle was smiling at her proudly.

"Are you sure you can do that? Can I help you?" Modo asked making her nod and shook her head, making Vinnie a bit confused. "I'm sure, and no, there's nothing you can do, except to make sure the connection is good. Check that for me, Modo" Carbine demanded which made the gray furred mouse do as told immediately.

"You are a good leader.. Are you sure you don't want to move to Brimstone?" The Commander in Chief said making her sigh. "I told you that I don't have time for a chit-chat.." She said with courage in her voice while working pretty fast with the devices. "I see.." The Chief smiled proudly while the soldier looked at him the way she acted wasn't appropriate. He just kept smiling before saying "Let the lady work. She knows what she's doing" making Carbine smile proudly.

"Carbine there's still five minutes of time you told us.." Vinnie said making her jump a bit. "Five?!" She gasped and then gave him another device. "Connect this, and quickly!" She commanded, making the white mouse to act right away. "What's that?" Modo asked making Throttle answer to him.

"I've seen Stoker using that.. It makes hacking more easier and more coverable.." He said making Carbine nod. "But I still need to do a couple of things to make sure that no-one sees us listening to the connection. And I need to contact Stoker before the Plutarkians call again." She said making the Chief list his other eyebrow. "You know how to use those? That's pretty high technology even for older military hackers.."

"I'm Stoker's niece after all.. And you said you don't regret your decision of to promote me.. Do you still need to ask that, seriously Sir?" She said and then got everything ready while Vinnie had started counting down the last 30 seconds. "Just the connection to him and we are ready here!" She said and finished her work. "Got it! Now we can just wait for the call.." She said and leaned backwards to the back seat of the chair.

"Are you okay?" Throttle asked and rolled his chair closer to her. "Hasn't got all of my normal energy back but yes.." She said and then heard Modo talking. "I see Stoker got there on time and got some of the guys in the Government to listen to him" He said making the Chief nod. "Stoker are one of those military soldiers that the government takes seriously.. There are just five soldiers for that.." He said making Vinnie's eyes wide up.

"He seems like--" Vinnie was about to say but Carbine got a silent signal and hissed all the males to be quiet. "They are calling!" She said while everyone who was still standing, sat up on chairs and moved closer with them. She raised the volume and then lifted her index finger on her mouth to keep everyone quiet.

"Do they hear us?" Throttle whispered making her shake her head. "Why do we need to be silent then?" Vinnie asked with normal volume, or that kind of normal as he was, meaning quite loud. Carbine slapped him with her tail and made a deathly glare. "We have only this one chance.. So shut your mouth or I rip it off and sew it to your tail!" She said and then turned back to the device. The Chief just smiled to the soldier who smiled back while forming words "Like her mother" to the Chief who nodded back.

"Is this Martian Government am I talking to?" Said a voice in the call. Carbine could only hack into the sound system so they couldn't see anything. They only heard everything they said at the other side. And while the call was on going, she made sure the connection lasted. "Yes, like I told you. These are the leaders of Mars, three highest of them" Stoker said while the leaders introduced them after the caller had told them that his name was Leo Stilton and whose son he was.

"I heard Plutark wants some co-operation with Mars, am I right?" One of the leaders said. "Yes, mister Jeff!" Leo Stilton said and then continued. "Our highest has done some research and found out that Mars has a very good environment there. Plutark is very interested in that and that's why we are contacting you now" The Alien fish said, and at the army base Carbine's eyes got wide.

"I was right.." She said and then turned to Modo. "Write everything down we are hearing! You write what the leaders and Stoker say and Vinnie writes down what the caller says!" She demanded but then the soldier spoke up. "We have our antennas.. There's no need for writing that down" He said making her glare at him.

"If something happens to us, I'll make sure the information gets to someone else! Just for backup!" She said making the Chief nod to her. Then they continued listening again while Modo and Vinnie started writing everything fast.

"What do you want from our environment? And what do we get from that?" The Leader named Jeff asked making Throttle turn to look at Carbine in confusion. "We'd prefer having some of it to our planet. And as a payment we can offer you everything you wish for.." The Plutarkian caller said and everyone could hear a smirk from his voice. "What do you think we would like to have for that?" Other leader asked suspiciously.

"I'm just a messenger and I have now said everything I was told to say.. So what do you think? You can choose the prize.. Lucas, was it?" He said to the leader that had spoken last. "Yes.. Why didn't your leaders contact us.." Lucas said making the third one talk next.

"Yes. You insisted on having us to talk but none of your leaders contacted us.." The last leader, Ben, said. "I have no answer for that, sorry.." Leo said and again the smirk could be heard from his voice. "Something suspicious.. That's what he is.." Vinnie said making the rest of them nod and agree.

"So your answer is? I need to deliver it very soon.." Stilton said making the leader Jeff raise his other eyebrow. "Very soon?" He said making the alien fish answer right away. "In a few minutes!" He said making the Mars leaders and Stoker turn to look at each other. "The answer is no.." Ben said making all of them agree.

"No? Why??" The Caller said and was a bit surprised. "You didn't give us much time to think and your leaders didn't contact us.. There's the message you can deliver to them" Lucas said while looking at the caller. "You will hear from us again soon.. I'll be sure about that!" Leo Stilton said angrily and hung up the call.

"What was that? Our environment?" Ben said while walking to the system. "I'll close it for you, it's complicated, Sir" Stoker said and walked to the device after the leader had nodded him. He just shut the video call and main view down, but made sure the Carbine's signal was still there.

"He didn't cut us out?" Throttle said after noticing it. "He thinks there's still something more we need to hear.. So let's listen. And you two, continue writing!" Carbine said and then looked at Modo and Vinnie who nodded back at her.

"I'm not sure about this, but we need some people to check things about Plutark." Jeff said but then Stoker spoke up. "There's a mouse in my team that has escaped them.. Should we ask him more?" He suggested making the leaders think a bit before Lucas talked. "Yes, you'll have that checked. But this needs to stay as a secret. Not even others in the military can hear this!" He said and Ben continued. "Yes, this must not come into public.." He sighed and then Lucas continued, but his words were for Stoker. "Thank you for letting us know, Stoker. This was really importan--" He said but then Stoker shut the connection to Carbine.

"Why did he shut down?" Vinnie said while Carbine started to pluck the devices off with Throttle's help. "I got the whole discussion recorded.. I'll give you a copy, Chief" Carbine said making the white mouse's jaw drop. "And we needed to write it down?!" He said making her smirk and cross her hands. "You looked like you needed something to do.." She grinned making Throttle chuckle. "Seriously Carbine?" Modo asked and was a bit offended.

"No.. I need every kind of copy for sure, so thank you for that!" She smiled and took the papers from them. "Write it clear, and deliver it to me during this evening" The Commander in Chief said to the soldier who nodded. Carbine handed him the papers and he left the room to the other.

"You are smart, Carbine. I really appreciate that in soldiers, and in women" The Chief smiled and nodded to her. She smiled and said "Thank you, Sir. But for what we heard.. What do you think?" She asked while noticing Throttle being a bit jealous of what the Chief had said to her. She took his hand in hers to make him calm down. He smiled and grabbed her hands, making sure the Chief noticed it.

"I need to discuss this with Stoker and the others on the highest rank. You will hear about that soon if there's anything to be taken seriously" The Chief said after raising an eyebrow for Throttle. "But Sir! This needs to be taken seriously! The Government wants to keep that hidden even for the military!!" Carbine said making him nod. "Yes, I heard that. And I thank you for what you did, but for now on. You need to get back home to rest. You are still on sick leave" He said and got up from the chair.

"Sir!!" Carbine said and got up too, the Biker Mice following her lead too. "You are still on a sick leave and clearly still a convalescent even if you showed some true skills today, Carbine" The Commander in Chief said and walked to the door. "But I have better things to do than lay in a bed!" She said and then continued while following him. "That's an order!!" The Chief raised his voice while turning to look at her. He looked at her very seriously making her look down at the floor and stay still.

"Yes, Commander in Chief.." She said and then sighed deeply after he had left the room. "I heard him yelling like that when I had just arrived and teased Scabbard.." Vinnie said and looked at the doorway where the Chief had just stood. "That's a thing you don't hear many times.. He is usually a very calm male.. Even when he leads our forces" Throttle explained and then lifted his hand on Carbine's shoulder.

She slowly turned to look at him and smiled when he smiled at her. "You did great today, Carbine.." He said and then Modo continued. "Yea! You really convinced him and all of us.. It's quite a shame we are not in your group.." He said making Throttle raise his other eyebrow. "Excuse me?" He acted like he had hurt much which made the female giggle.

"Thank you guys.. You really know how to cheer me up.." She smiled and then gathered all parts of the devices she had brought her with and put them in her bag. "Do you need any help?" Throttle asked her while moving his hand on her back.

"No, I got all of them. Thanks guys.. But how was the search?" She managed to ask, making them shake their heads. "We got one lead but it ended up being nothing.. But when we left, some of Stoker's soldiers went to look after another lead. We don't know how that ended up.." Throttle explained but that made her smile a bit. "What?" He asked.

"Even if you have just leads, it makes me a bit better.. He gets caught soon.. I'm sure about that" She said making the Biker Mice nod to her. "Should we head back to them?" Modo asked and looked at Carbine. "You and Vinnie can go.. I would like to take Throttle with me.." She started to say making Vinnie whistle, but he just got slapped again by her tail.

 "Since Stoker is still at the government's house, I assume they go through some things with a bigger number of leaders, then he probably comes here first.. Even if I feel better, like the Chief said, I'm still a convalescent.." She said making them nod. "I'd be happy to join you.." Throttle said making Vinnie and Modo turn to look at each other with smirks on their faces. Carbine noticed that and rolled her eyes for them.

After that they made sure they left nothing behind, and when they were about to head to their bikes, Carbine heard the Chief's voice again. "Stoker will tell you everything necessary as soon as we get through these things with the others" He said making her nod and form a small smile on her face. "Thank you, we'll leave for now." She said making him nod and wave to them. They waved back and then headed to the bikes.

"Don't you think the Guardians on the Bikes sounds a bit stupid or corny?" Vinnie blurted out while they were putting their helmets on. "How's that so sudden?" Throttle asked but then heard Carbine giggle. "My uncle sure is not good with the group names.. Ask about that from him" She said and then got on her bike. The others got on theirs too while Vinnie laughed at her answer.

"I want to hear that conversation too.." Modo chuckled but then Throttle talked. "But now we have something more serious to handle than a group name issue" He said while starting his bikes. When all of them heard their bikes purring under them, they headed to the entrance. "You are right.. But that was just a thought" Vinnie said. "And there's nothing wrong about thinking" Modo said making Carbine smirk this time. "Like Vinnie thinks much at all.." She said making all of them laugh. It took a moment from Vinnie to get it. "Hey!!" He said making them laugh even more while driving out through a secret exit.

"But we'll now go and join the others. I'll inform you what they got from the lead" Modo said and looked at Throttle. "Yes, thank you. We wait for that call" Throttle said while he drove next to Carbine and Vinnie in front of Modo's bike. "See you later guys! Good luck!" Carbine smiled and then headed to the way that led to the closest streets. The secret exit they had come out, was in the middle of the forest, but along some paths they could drive with the bikes, but also at a place that couldn't be seen if you didn't know what to look for.

"Have fun, you love birds!" Vinnie smirked but dodged the slap Carbine tried to hit him with her tail. After that they waved to each other and left in different directions. Vinnie and Modo drove back to the search group after contacting them where they were currently, and Carbine and Throttle drove back to Stoker's house.

"What are you thinking? You have been so quiet since we left from the others?" Carbine asked through the helmets' connection while driving next to Throttle. "You.." He answered making her blush. She could feel the heat taking over her body. "Really? What about me?" She said while smirking to him. "You really amazed each of us today.. Especially me.." He said huskily back to her which made her gulp. Both of them knew what that exact voice did to her. It was really effective in many ways.

"Yea?" Carbine shivered. "It was really hot to see you taking the lead and giving orders to everyone.." Throttle took his voice even lower. "Throttle stop it.. We are driving.." Carbine said and was blushing really badly. "Stop what?" He grinned even if he knew what she meant. "That.. Stop teasing me!" She said making his grin got wider. "I know you like it.. The way I talk to you like this.." He said very very huskily making her gulp again.

Her breathing got a bit deeper and it was very hard to concentrate on driving. "I'd like to hear you giving me personal orders later too.. General Carbine.." Throttle said making her whine about the thoughts that had come into her mind. But that was it, she didn't see a quite big stone on the street when they finally got there. She drove straight to it which stopped her bike and caused her to fly over the handlebar while screaming.

"Carbine!!" Throttle panicked and drove fast after her. Since his reflexes were very good, he managed to get her right into his arms before she would have faced the ground. "Stop doing that while we are driving!!" Carbine shouted and smacked his helmet with her hand. "I'm so sorry! I should have been more careful.. I didn't see that coming.." He said and lifted her on the ground. She was shaking a bit but when they saw her bike, she groaned.

"How are you going to explain that to Stoker? That was his second bike since my own is still at my place.." She said making Throttle gulp. "We.. I'll figure that out later" He chuckled while feeling guilty for what had just happened. It was his fault after all. And now the other bike looked like a pile of junk made from metal.

"But I'm happy that you didn't hurt yourself, did you?" He said while eyeing her properly. "No.. I'm fine, thanks to your reflexes.." Carbine said and hugged him. When he hugged her back, she said "Did you do that on purpose since I was driving on my own, not sitting behind you.." She smirked making him look away while smiling. "Wasn't in my mind but since you said that.. Maybe it was meant to happen.." He smirked making her slap his helmet again. "You idiot!" Carbine laughed and then climbed to sit behind him.

"We'll get that later. No-one gets anything from that anyway since it hit that tree pretty badly.." Throttle said while starting his bike again. "Yea.. Even a miracle wont fix that to be a bike again.." Carbine said and wrapped her arms around his waist making him shiver a bit. "Aren't you driving or do I really need to give you orders already, commander?" Carbine grinned and used her voice that caused a similar kind of effect to the male that his specific tone of voice did to her.

"Yes, miss general" Throttle smirked and then continued driving to the Stoker's house. It was late evening already which caused very a beautiful sunset to Mars. Carbine sighed to the view while leaning against the male who had a hard time to focus on driving since he felt her body against him. Even if they had a fun time together, Carbine was still thinking about the earlier discussion.

Why did the government want to hide that information even from the military? That specific call from Plutark was very suspicious and gave some dangerous vibes. Would something be happening to Mars? And if yes, when it would be happening and what was going to happen to their home planet?
