Get to Know Me

Hi, before you take advice from me I think it best you hear of my credentials!

My name is Emily-Anne, although I go by a ton of different nicknames so depending who you're asking you might get a different answer on what to call me. Personally, I like to go by Emily. Also personally, I would rather die than be called Anne. Sorry to any Annes out there.

I grew up in the small state of Rhode Island (specifically, the city of West Warwick) and lived in my childhood home up until a week after I turned 13, when my family moved to Virginia, where I currently live about 20-30 minutes away from Virginia Beach. Take that information as you will.

Whilst in Rhode Island I was a dancer for 9 years (4-12) and I also participated in an afterschool YMCA program my middle school offered, where I did show choir, participated in plays, took tons of art classes, and I was even in one program where we spent our time writing a book together as a group and made little clay pieces to stick onto our pencils that resembled our characters.

When I moved to Virginia, I took (1) three day cooking course afterschool, and also participated in chorus. When I reached high school, I started doing LOTS of more school activities.

Freshman year I participated in a one-act play and also was in a French Club. Sophomore year I went through a depression and didn't do much of anything, so that's one thing I'd like to talk about on here later. When I reached junior year of high school I somewhat got out of my rut and participated in both another one-act play as well as a full length production of the show Antigone. I also joined our school's book club that year, and was inducted into ITS (International Thespian Society). My senior year I continued with theatre, doing a full length production of the show Almost, Maine. I also became president of the school's Book Club.

While in high school I was an honors student, and received awards both junior and senior year for having a high GPA (3.6 my junior year, and I graduated with a 3.8 GPA). I graduated in June of 2019, with high honors as well as THREE certified stamps on my diploma. I'm going to be honest, two of them are for two very important certification tests that I passed (one for being "work ready" and another for a finance class). The third I have no idea how I got it or what it's for, but it's nice to flex about especially because I have more than my older sister(who only has one I believe).

Also while in high school I got my first job, as a server at a local Huddle House at age 16. Currently I'm kinda employed, but not really, due to COVID. So I'm still in the system, but not being scheduled. I'm hoping to get a new job as a secretary at the crematorium where we recently had our cat be cremated. That's a whole other story. The same summer I got my job, I worked at an after-school theatre camp my school's theatre company threw for kids in our city, and got the chance to be a "Bunny Leader" for all of the kids entering 5th and 6th grade.

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka, hi I'm mormon) and I currently go to Brigham Young University-Idaho. Usually I'd be living in Idaho at this time in the year, but due to Covid I got the chance to stay at home and live in Virginia. I will not be returning to Idaho for school until January 2021, which is CRAZY to think about.

I'm majoring in Elementary Education, with a minor in English Education, and hope to eventually become either a 4th or 5th grade teacher (although with my major I can teach anywhere from k-6).

I have two sister, where I am the middle child. So I've had the chance to be both the older and the younger sister, which I think gives me a unique perspective with advice giving, as I know both sides of the spectrum. I've had lots of opportunity to hang around kids with autism, my younger sister herself having high-functioning autism, so I like to think I'm kind of educated on that and can give advice on living with a family member with autism, and how to deal with that.

I also have had LOTS of pets. I've had fish, frogs, dogs, cats, and even rabbits at one point. (Never all at the same time, ofc). So if you ever need to talk about animals and how to care for them, I gotchu haha.

If there's anything specific you would like for me to give advice on, I am creating a page after this to put ideas into the comments. If there's something you really want advice on, but are not comfortable with sharing publicly (like period questions, for example) feel free to PM me on here or any of my other social medias I'm going to list below:
