"She seems..... distracted." Wasabi said while glancing at your highly focused expression on your class worksheet.
"That is an understatement." Gogo leans on her desk. "What's got (Y/n) wanting to get her work done so early and quickly?"
Hiro stopped chewing on his pencil and took a glance in your direction from across the classroom. They were right and it worried him, though he had seen that type of focused energy from Tadashi. "She's on autopilot. Something must be really bothering her."
They watch as you hand in your paper to the professor. The bell buzzed to dismiss everyone to go to their next class and Gogo shoved everything into her bag. "For a whole two weeks? Maybe that horrible stunt, Speckles—"
"—Sparkles." Wasabi corrected.
She rolled her eyes. "Whatever. That kidnapping stunt is probably still bothering her. I mean, he had killer robot bears chase her."
"Miss (L/n)." The professor called out before you could step out the door and he held up your paper with a tired sigh. "If you keep speeding through these assignments without trying, it's going to hurt your grades."
You take your paper along with a new blank sheet.
"You know, I'm going to have to report this to Granville, BUT if you turn this in, first thing Monday, with a few correct answers. I won't let her know." The professor watched you walk away without a word and he sighs as he notices Hiro walk up to his desk. "Hello, Mr. Hamada. Is everything alright with Miss (L/n)?"
Hiro hands in his worksheet. "I'm not too sure, but I'm going to see for myself."
The professor hummed and chuckled lightly. "Before Miss (L/n) would turn in her work. Tadashi would take it and give it back, saying to double check her answers. Sometimes he'd mention a surprise if she did well."
It was a little odd when the teacher had said (Y/n)'s grades would be reported to Grandville. Hiro hummed thoughtfully and followed you out of the classroom.
There you were at the lockers.
With a playful grin, Hiro wrapped an arm around your shoulders in a slightly rough manner. "Guess what?"
You fret for a moment at the unexpected hug, then groan, "Depends on the context."
"It involves a 'secret' hero surprise. Something I created for you, BUT, you're going to redo that worksheet with more effort." Hiro gently shakes you. "I'll help you review it afterwards, plus, you can join me and Aunt Cass for dinner before I take you home."
That deal wasn't half bad and getting to eat Aunt Cass' food will be the best. "Alright. You've won this time, Hamada."
"Great! I'll meet you at your lab later today."
——————(•-•)——————
Classes had gone by a lot faster than usual, but unfortunately, that gave me time to be in my thoughts. The lab lights shine off the purple chip as the Obake face stared back at me. It should be simple enough, right? My gaze moved toward the small picture of me, Tadashi, and Baymax.
"I know you wouldn't want me to go down that kind of path......I'm sorry, Tadashi."
I take the picture and face it downward, sliding it under one of my textbooks.
"Things are going to get extremely hectic, but it'll be for you."
Withdrawing my phone from my pocket, I sent a cryptic text to the number Obake had given me that other night. 'Tomorrow night.'
Immediately, there is a reply. 'Excellent. I will not go back on my word as long as you do not.'
I scoff, stuffing the chip into my pocket, "Why would I go back on the deal?"
My phone buzzed with another text; 'Don't forget to finish up the assignment that you have to redo.'
"What?!" I drop my phone by surprise and growl while crawling under the desk. "How did he even know about—" Suddenly, I bang my head when sitting up. "—OW!"
"On a scale from 1 to 10, how would you rate your pain?" Baymax's voice comes out of nowhere or...he just came right through my lab door.
I groan and rub my head softly, "4."
Hiro's hand reached out and I took it as he helped me up, "That sounded a lot more painful than you stated." He gives a lopsided grin and swings my bag onto his shoulders. "You ready to head out?"
With a nod, I shut down all the machinery in my lab and turn off the lights before locking the door. We made our way out of the school and chatted for a while. At one of the intersections, the crosswalk said we could go as the vehicles all stop, until the front car breaks harshly when it suddenly jerks forward at me.
"Whoa! Hey!" Hiro frowned. "Ugh. It's a self-driving car. They're cool and all, but they're sometimes a little buggy." He pulls me along by my hand.
I glance back at the green car with oddly green tinted windows. It felt like someone was staring too hard at me from the back seat. I shook off the weird feeling as our walk continued to the café.
—————(•-•)—————
"Miso Soup and Flower-Shaped Wagashi!" Aunt Cass shouts in excitement and places the dishes in front of me and Hiro. "I boxed some Wagashi to take back for you and your friend, (Y/n). I made too much."
Hiro pouts, "I can eat them all."
I snicker and wave a fried wonton at him, "There's a very common saying, Hiro. Sharing is caring. Thank you, Cass." I give her a smile then growl when Hiro bites the wonton I held out to him. "Hey!"
"Sharing is caring, (Y/n)."
"Hiro. I advise not to talk with your mouth full—" Baymax began to say until Hiro choked a bit and the marshmallow bot helped him.
"Karma." I say with a smug grin.
Aunt Cass sat down and started off by asking us how school went, then she talked about her day. Dinner had been amazing, although now it was time for the worksheet after we helped Cass clean up the kitchen. She sat at the couch to watch tv while Hiro and I sat on the floor at the coffee table.
"Everything is all good, except for one answer." Hiro grinned with a thumbs up.
"Finally!" I stretch.
"I'll take you home. Don't wait up too late for me, Aunt Cass." Hiro gives her a hug.
I pack up my bag and wave to Cass, but she ends up pulling me into a tight hug. "Too tight." I laugh and she lets go with her own chuckle.
We go out the door, Baymax in tow, and go into the alleyway to Hiro's garage. "I need your phone." Hiro holds out his hand while opening the garage door. "It's time for your surprise."
"You better give it back and not take off with it again." I pout.
"No promises." Hiro retorts and laughs, "I will. I just need to download a specific app that I created for your phone." It didn't take long for him to hand it back to me. "The guys have different icons for their phone, so your default is Baymax's face."
I see it and giggle, "I think I'll leave it that way." I click the icon as a few options pop up. One says to contact the team, call for a Skymax, and other miscellaneous buttons.
"Click on Skymax."
Under a minute, there's something descending from the sky and comes into view outside the garage door. A robot? It was grey and its robotic head had a single eye.
"(Y/n). This is YOUR Skymax. He'll be able to deliver your suit to you with the press of a button." Hiro knocks on the front of the hovering bot and the chest opens up. "I made you a spare suit, close to mine and Baymax's abilities. You know, just in case something happens, like the time I got sick." He grimaced at the memory.
I couldn't help but grin happily at the new bot. "Really?! So....I can join you guys in the field whenever I want?" I grabbed the spare suit that looked close to the same color as Hiro's suit.
"Yep. Also, I didn't know what color you wanted Skymax to be or the logo you wanted, so whenever you think of something, let me know."
A ring goes off on Baymax, then my phone and Hiro's.
"Rogue Drones are keeping citizens trapped on the rooftop of Telegraph Tower in the Night Market Square area." Baymax announced from the text message that Wasabi sent.
Hiro and I made eye contact as he grinned. "Well, this looks like a good opportunity to show me what you've got." I watch him walk out of the garage and head toward the front. "I'll be the Tech Guru this time." He winked and gave a thumbs up.
Immediately, my heart thought it was cute and my brain told me to shut up and turn away. "Obviously, I'm not gonna be as great as you. I mean, YOU guys!" I pick up my suit and grin sheepishly. "But I'll try my best." When Hiro left, I quickly slipped on the suit and locked pieces of armor into place. "If only I can change faster, then I think being a hero wouldn't be too bad."
"There might be a possibility. Especially with your Nanotechnology." Baymax positively stated as I helped him put on his armor.
"I hope so, Baymax. Maybe I will be able to restore human anatomy, maybe even fix someone through an atom level." After my last statement, Baymax got eerily quiet and he was staring at me with....concern? "You alright, Bud?"
"Are you guys ready?" Hiro's voice blares out inside your helmet. "Am I coming through okay?"
I snort, "Yeah. VERY loud and clear."
"Oooh~ Is (Y/n) joining us?" Honey Lemon's voice cuts in.
"Finally! I mean this isn't as exciting as the night Hiro got sick, BUT Freddy can't wait for your first official hero mission." Fred says proudly.
By then, me and Baymax take off into the sky and follow the location Wasabi sent not long ago. "Only for tonight. Hiro and I switched positions."
Fred squealed. "Does that mean (Y/n) has a Skymax?!"
"Yep."
I dodge a red laser as we get closer to the Telegraph Tower. "Just drones with lasers? If I'm being honest here. I was hoping for something with a bit more—" My foot kicks a drone to the ground. "—Pizzazz." I wave my hands.
"Right!?" Fred grabs a drone while jumping high and flings it away as one of Gogo's disks cuts through it. "Won't lie, but this is going to be one of the most boring hero saves ever."
"Seriously? You two most likely jinxed it." Gogo says.
"Baymax, make sure none of those drones get close to the news helicopter." Hiro points out. "(Y/N)! Duck!"
A laser zips past my head as I tip forward and another beam hits one of my rockets. "Whoa!!!" Before I go out of control, Baymax flies under me as the magnets in my palms automatically catch onto his back. "That was a little harsh!" I yelp as more drones appear behind me and Baymax. "Not good. Guys, there's more behind me."
"Yeah and there's a few of them causing havoc in the streets." Gogo growled with annoyance. "Stay still!"
Dang it. "Hiro. Does it seem like these drones are targeted at me, specifically?!"
"Yes. Be careful—!"
A laser shoots near my hands while I move back quickly, but at that second, two drones slam into me. The tint to the helmet shuts off and I feel myself falling yet again.
A gooey purple hand suddenly yanks me away from the too close busy road. "Be a little more careful next time?! Being hit by a car is not a great feeling." Globby huffed after landing us on a building.
Before I could speak, the drones surrounded us and shot their lasers all at once.
"For crying out loud." A metal shield covered us and spikes pierced all the drones. "Don't think too much about this savior thing. Got it?"
I blink at the destroyed drones. "Uh....okay. How—"
"I happened to be in the neighborhood, okay?" Globby raised an invisible brow. "By the way. Isn't it late for someone like you? Don't you, like, have school or something?" He placed his hands on his hips.
I cross my arms and pout, "That's none of your business, but yeah. Yeah, I do have school, BUT it's the weekend, so I can stay up as late as I want."
"Uh, hold back on the attitude, much?" Globby sassed.
"(Y/n), are you okay? Your signal cut out for a moment." Hiro asked with worry.
My tongue sticks out playfully while Globby does the same. "I'm alright, Hiro. What about everyone else?"
"We're okay. The rest of the drones are down and everyone is clearing out safely." Wasabi says and yawns. "I'm beat. I'll see you guys later! Goodnight!"
Everyone else, except me, Hiro and Baymax said good night. "Clearly, this mission was tiring." I chuckle and Hiro yawns in response. "You should start heading to bed, Hiro. I'll make sure that I get home safely."
"Alright." He sounded unsure. "Just give me a call or a text that you made it back. I think Baymax crash landed outside from a low battery. I gotta check on him before Aunt Cass does." Hiro cuts out.
It didn't take long for my Skymax to show up and I took out my phone from the pouch around my belt to check the time. It actually was late— my gaze followed a crumpled piece of paper that fell out from the pouch. "This wasn't—you've got to be kidding me!!!" I groan out with irritation.
(Until Next Time! P.S. I took the money from your pocket.)
A note from Globby and he drew a face sticking its tongue out. Still trying to be a bad guy. "That purple booger face!!!" I seeth through my teeth after finding a gas station nearby to change out of my suit. Luckily, there were no cameras and the cashier was asleep. As I step out under the fluorescent lights and run my hands down my face tiredly. "And I still have work tomorrow afternoon.....I guess my last day at work."

"Disappointing~." Obake tuts while carelessly tossing an inactive drone. "Big Hero 6. What a busy bunch you have been." He pulled up the news feed from the drone attack, which he planned. Unfortunately, the video recordings from the drones didn't get close enough information. "There's no harm in having a little fun. Now....time to REALLY get to know you and keep you from seeing the bigger picture."
With an evil grin, his attention immediately went to a video feed from not long ago.
You and Globby.
Apparently, the glob monster helped to keep you safe. The thing about these drones was that they do not have the best face recognition and do not follow orders too well. Obake frowned and his left face started to glow purple.
"Although, I can't have you keep intervening with my work." He swiped out a hand as your major in nanotechnology pops up and he hums with amusement.
"Maybe stirring you toward your ULTIMATE ambition.....will finally help you understand my perspective of liberation."
