Problems With a Portal
(Y/n) P.O.V
I shooed Hiro out of my room and changed into my casual clothing. I joined the rest of the gang who were already designing the look of the portal.
"Okay so it will be a circle shape and all you have to do it walk through it!" Exclaimed Honey Lemon. Me and Hiro looked over the drawing the guys had planned out on blueprint paper.
"Seems good." I chuckled. We all sat down and tried to figure out how the portal would work.
"It needs to have a magnetic field so that it won't explode." Suggested Ginger.
"And we need to make one materialise into my room so we can go home!" Exclaimed Lucy.
"How about we work in two groups? One half can make the portal that will be here and the other group can make the materialising portal for Lucy's mansion." Suggested Hiro.
"That's a good idea... Okay so GoGo, me, Hiro and (y/n) will work on the portal that will be here, and Wasabi, Ginger, Fred, Lucy, Honey Lemon and Cola Coa-Coa can work on the one that will materialise at Lucy's house." Tom Tom said. We nodded our heads in agreement and went separate ways.
Me, Hiro, Tom Tom and GoGo sat down at the huge dinning table and began to design the portal.
Over the period of one month, we managed to complete the equations and how it would link up to the other portal, the portal that Honey Lemon and her group were working on was just about ready to be activated where as me and my group's one was just about to be assembled.
After a few days, the portals were ready and we tested the portals out. The one that would end up in Lucy's mansion had worked yet the other one blew up.
"What went wrong?" Shouted Hiro in furry, both of our hair had become utterly messy due to the fact that we kept ruffling it in frustration.
"Chill, we just need too take a break and try again." GoGo said. Since the other portal was complete, everyone was busy helping out with the other.
Heathcliff brought us drinks and fruit and we all chilled, I looked once more at the portal that had blown up a million times.
That's when an idea clicked into my mind. "I get it! There isn't enough power in the portal for it to work!" I exclaimed.
I grabbed everyone's glasses of water and poured it into one big glass. "What the heck are you doing (y/n)?" Tom Tom asked.
"Fixing the portal." I answered. I turned the machine on and I heard it whir... It was going to blow up. Before it did however, I chucked the water on top of the machine and it shut down.
"Great! Now you broke it!" Ginger complained. All at once, the machine turned on and the portal lit up.
"And now it works!" Hiro exclaimed in awe.
"But how?!" Asked a confused Cola Coa-Coa. I shrugged.
"The water over powered the magnetic layer and the molecules charged up to the point were most house hold items explode, however, since this needed more power, it simply charged it up." I explained.
"And you got all of this idea from snack break? Unbelievable." Exclaimed GoGo .
"Well, I guess this means we can go home." Ginger said. I nodded in agreement.
"Wait a second, firstly, what will we do with Bitmix?" Hiro asked.
"Oh I know! Put her in a glass case along with Baymax!" Fred exclaimed.
"Okay." I replied.
"Secondly, I owe you a date... Remember? I wanna take you somewhere." Hiro reminded me.
"Oh yeah! Can we do that tomorrow?" I asked.
"Sure!" For now, we should probably get ready for bed." Hiro replied.
"I'm gonna miss you..." I said bitterly.
"Hey, chill, we can still visit each other remember? We have the portals." Hiro reminded me.
"True..." I agreed.
I didn't plan on seeing him again, I didn't think we needed to. After our date and went back home, I don't think I'll ever see him again... Why would I? Apart from the reason that we are in a relationship... And there isn't really much of a reason to.
Who knows? Years might go by and we might even forget about each other... Get other partners...live separate lives... Who knows? Maybe when I go through the portal I will wake up on a hospital bed because I was having hallucinations?
That's when I remembered what Hiro told me, many weeks ago, 'Negative thinking means negative outcome, positive thinking creates a positive result.'
I went under my bed covers and smiled... Keep a positive thought, maybe this wasn't a hallucination... I will be seeing Hiro again, I will live a happy life with him... Nothing will get in the way...
I jumped out of bed and quickly called the general. "Hello? General? This is (y/n)!" I said.
"Hello (y/n)! Long time no call! What do you need to tell me?" He asked.
"We managed to create a portal... In two days, so the day after tomorrow, we will be coming back, we will be at 'The Lucky Cat Cafe' my uncle owns, if you need us , that's where we will be." I informed him.
"Oh lovely! I'm glad we can talk in person again!" He replied.
"So, I guess we will see you in two days? " I asked.
"Yep." The general said.
"Oh! And before we hang up... What time and date is it back there? I kinda lost track of time." I asked sheepishly... Was Hiro's universe and mine parallel? It was a Saturday here and it was the 21 st of June.
"Okay the day today iiiiis...." He paused, probably looking at his calendar app on his iPhone. "21st of June and it's a Saturday." He replied. So our universes were parallel.
"Oh okay! Thank you so much!" I exclaimed.
"Not a problem! See you when you get back." He said and with that, he hung up.
I switched my phone off and went back to bed... Tomorrow was my date with Hiro... Our first and last date..
