It was a down pour outside of the apartment and inside Mabel was tossing and turning in her bed trying to sleep.

"Why can't I sleep already?" Mabel asked herself.

Then a clap of thunder was heard causing Mabel to scream.

Dipper runs in to the room to see what his little sister was screaming about.

"Mabel are you okay?" Dipper asked.

"I'm okay, its just the lightning startled me," said Mabel.

"Are you still afraid of thunderstorms?" Dipper asked.

"Pfft, no," said Mabel.

Just then an clap of thunder can be heard causing Mabel to scream.

Dipper just glares at her.

"Fine, but I can't help it, loud noises scare me," said Mabel.

Dipper gives his baby sister a hug.

"Its okay little sister," said Dipper, "If you want, you can sleep with me tonight, I know that being held by your big brother helps you sleep."

"Uh, I don't know, won't Pacifica get mad?" Mabel asked.

"Pacifica is in Seattle seeing her cousins, plus I don't think she minds," said Dipper.

Mabel hugs Dipper's waist.

"Thanks bro-bro," said Mabel.

Dipper smiles at his little sister's remark.

Mainly because he knows this isn't the first time he helped Mabel sleep.

Flashbacks:

He remembers her first thunderstorm when she was only 5 months old:

An infant Mabel was crying loudly in her crib.

"Mom, Mabel's crying," said Dipper.

"See what's wrong with her, I'm busy," said their mom.

Dipper walks into Mabel's bedroom and picks her up from her crib.

"What's wrong Mabel?" Dipper asked.

Mabel just babbles.

A clap of thunder can be heard causing Mabel to cry.

"Oh I see, your scared of thunder," said Dipper, "It's okay baby sister, I'm here for you."

Mabel babbles a little more and falls asleep.

He remembered when she was 4:

Dipper was downstairs watching an episode of Full House on TV, when he heard screaming coming from Mabel's room.

Mabel comes downstairs screaming.

"What's wrong Mabel, did you have another accident in your pull ups again?" Dipper asked.

"No," said Mabel.

Mabel then checks the pull up she's wearing.

"Dangit," said Mabel.

(That last joke was inspired by my cousins when they were little)

"Then what's wrong?" Dipper asked.

Just then lightning strikes outside, Mabel screams and runs up to Dipper's back. 

"Oh is the storm scaring you?" Dipper asked.

Mabel nods yes.

Dipper gets down onto the floor.

"Hey don't worry little sister, that mean old thunderstorm won't do anything," said Dipper.

Just then everything in the house shuts off causing Mabel to scream in terror.

"I hate it when that happens," said Dipper.

"Dipper can I sleep in your bed tonight?" Mabel asked.

"I'm getting tired, so yeah, you could," said Dipper.

Mabel hugs Dipper.

"Thanks big brother," said Mabel.

"No problem baby sister," said Dipper

Dipper picks up Mabel and brings her upstairs.

"Okay do you want to here a lullaby?" Dipper asked.

"Yes please," said Mabel.

"Okay," said Dipper.

"Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,

How I wonder what you are,

Up above the world so high,

Like a diamond in the sky.

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,

How I wonder what you are."

Dipper looks down to see Mabel fast asleep hugging him.

Flashbacks over:

Dipper was reminiscing about how he got Mabel to fall asleep during a storm when he sees his little sister asleep hugging him tightly.

"Sweet dreams little star," said Dipper.
