It was a clear and starry night. The waters of Craggy Island reflected the moon's glow in an almost mystic way. The day had been hot, too hot to work, so Xephos and Lalna had spent it floating lazily on the surface of the ocean.

"Another day well spent." Lalna chuckled as he clambered onto the shore, shaking his head in an attempt to dry his mane of hair. Xephos followed him, looking around for where they had put their towels. "It beats burning up working on the factory." He reasoned, spotting the towels and making his way to them. He picked them up and tossed one at Lalna, who was looking in the opposite direction. It hit him in the back of the head and fell into the sand. Lalna jumped slightly, trying and failing to catch it before it got all dirty. He shot a glare at Xephos and reached down to grab and dust off his towel. The spaceman ruffled out his towel and laid it down on the beach, settling himself down on top of it.

"Man, the view sure is nice." Xephos smiled, looking up at Lalna's butt.

"Yeah, the constellations are really breathtaking." He replied, wrapping his towel around his waist and laying down next to the brunet, who was snickering to himself.

''What's so funny?'' The scientist questioned, tearing his gaze from the sky to look at his ''friend''.

''Nothing'' He said quickly with an innocent look on his face. The blond raised an eyebrow, but kept his mouth shut. Silence stretched on as the stars climbed higher, the waves lapping at the shore. As the night engulfed the island, the glow from Xephos' eyes became the only thing illuminating the beach. Lalna couldn't help but stare at the mesmerizing blue light.

''How do your eyes do that?'' He asked, rolling over to face Xephos entirely.

''Well wouldn't you like to know'' The spaceman grinned.

''That's why I asked'' He said dryly, clearly not amused by the statement. Xephos turned to Lalna, not sure what to say.

''It's just my anatomy, I guess''

''How do you not know?'' Lalna leaned closer to his face, shaking the sand off his hands as he reached over to inspect Xephos' eyes. He carefully pulled open the spaceman's eyelids, staring intently into the blue pools. Xephos' expression of shock slowly shifted into a knowing smirk. It was then that Lalna realized just how close they were. Turning steadily red, he then attempted to move away from the grinning brunet, but was instead pulled closer until their lips met. Lalna squeaked out of surprise as Xephos entangled his fingers into the scientist's long messy hair. They broke apart, gasping for air. The spaceman's eyes were now glowing even brighter, their light shinning onto Lalna's face. All the blond could do was gaze into them, seeing the cosmos reflected within. Xephos looked upwards into the celestial plane just in time to see a shooting star leap across it and Lalna could see it in his eyes.
