Night was the time of day for Xephos to reflect and to finally just think. He found it too easy to lie on the damp and cold grass, staring up at the gold pinpricks in the black cloth that was the Minecraftian night sky as the wind caressed his skin.

The sky on Minecraftia was so different than his home planet's. Where the stars seemed to be scattered randomly across the sky like spilled glitter on Minecraftia, the stars on his planet had been in organised rows as if somebody with too much time and patience had arranged the stars themselves. Now that Xephos thought about it, he never really liked those stars, standing like soldiers on the battle field. It felt too unnatural, too forced. The messy and yet beautiful sprawl of these stars were perfectly imperfect.

"What are you thinking about?"

Xephos was shocked out of his thoughts as Sjin dropped down lazily next to him, the grass staining his white and orange suit green as he lay down. Xephos smiled and his eyes flickered back to the sky.

"Not much. I was just thinking about stars." Xephos said, his voice quiet as if speaking any louder would scare away the lights. "What are you doing here?"

Sjin shrugged as best he could next to him and turned to face Xephos. "Couldn't sleep. Normally Sips' snores don't bother me but tonight..." Sjin pulled a face and Xephos couldn't help but laugh.

"They don't bother you?" Xephos said with a surprised laugh. "We can hear them from our base!"

Sjin snorted. "I guess I just got used to them. You'd be surprised what you can get used to."

They both descended into a comfortable silence as they stared at the night. Sjin sighed and folded his arms behind his head. The wind played with the strands of his hair and caused a small shiver to run up his spine from the chill.

"Do you miss it?" Sjin broke the silence. "Your home, I mean."

Xephos let a sad smile grace his face as he leaned up on his elbow to study Sjin's face.

"You mean my old planet?"

Sjin nodded.

"It's not my home anymore, my home is here on Minecraftia," Xephos said wistfully as memories played in front of his eyes. "As for missing it? Yes, but not as much anymore. I mean, I will always miss it, it was my home for years but I miss it as much as I miss everywhere else I have been." He paused as Sjin finally turned to look at him. "Why do you ask?"

Sjin shuffled closer to Xephos for warmth. He wished he had brought something warmer to wear than a thin space suit. "I was wondering why you came out here so much," he said as Xephos stretched out. "I thought the reason was because you were looking for home."

Xephos shrugged and let Sjin press into his side. "I did at first," he admitted sheepishly. "But after a while it just became a time to relax and think about things, you know?"

"I can leave if I'm infringing on your alone time," Sjin offered.

"No, it's nice having you here." Xephos hoped his confession sounded as nonchalant as he wanted it to seem. "I mean, it's nice spending time with someone."

Sjin grinned and rested his head on Xephos' shoulder. "Don't lie, you love me being here," he teased, gently poking Xephos is the ribs. "I bet you think about me a lot here, huh?"

"In your dreams." Xephos scoffed, putting one of his arms around Sjin and pulling him closer. nonchalant "Are you cold?"

"No, you're quite warm," Sjin sighed contently. He looked up at Xephos and his nose brushed his jaw. "Is that an alien thing?"

Xephos shrugged and smiled. "You talk too much, is that a SipsCo thing?"

"No, a SipsCo thing is-" A yawn from Sjin interrupted the end of his own sentence. Xephos laughed as Sjin tried harder and harder to keep his eyes open.

"Go sleep," Xephos said fondly, his other arm also wrapping around Sjin as he snuggled closer. "I won't judge."

Sjin chucked but it was obvious he was fighting sleep. "This isn't what I meant when I said I wanted to sleep with you."

If Sjin had noticed Xephos place a small kiss on his cheek as he drifted off then he didn't mention it.

"Goodnight, Sjin." Xephos closed his eyes and let the soft snores lull him to sleep.
