Teeth (S)
TW: None?
"So, what else is different about you?" Xephos asked, stretched out languidly on his side of the bed.
Sjin glanced over. His head was resting on one hand, the other placed on his hip. Of course, with the farmer's luck, the spaceman's jacket, shirt, and pants had been discarded on the floor; Xephos was in nothing but his boxers. Sjin couldn't help the faint pink blush that dusted his cheeks as his eyes ran up his body.
"What do you mean, different?" Sjin asked, hurriedly looking away when Xephos smirked and raised his eyebrows.
"You know," Xephos said with a wave of his hand that explained nothing, "Different. Like, different from humans and different from my race."
"There's nothing different about me," Sjin retorted, offended by the question. Perhaps it was rude to him - Xephos had no way of knowing.
"I mean," he said, "Your eyes don't glow like mine do, but they change colors sometimes."
"Why is it any of your business what color my eyes are?" Sjin snapped, somewhat jokingly, as he slid into bed beside Xephos.
"It's not," Xephos laughed. "I'm just curious. Like that custom where sleeping in the same bed in only your boxers is a friendly thing."
"Geez, I'm sorry," Sjin muttered playfully. "How was I supposed to know it's like a serious love thing on whatever weird planet you come from?"
"Weird?" Xephos shoved himself up off his belly, glaring at Sjin. "My planet's the weird one?"
"Well, yeah," the farmer said with a laugh. "You're all mechanized and techy. No plants."
"I'm sorry my people are smarter than yours," the blue-eyed spaceman responded sourly.
"Hey, you have to be pretty smart to understand how nature works and grow crops out of diamonds," Sjin protested, rolling over to frown at Xephis.
"Did they even have diamonds on your planet?" Xephos said with a snort. "Were you even smart enough to dig for them?"
"Says the man who comes to me whenever his machines don't work," Sjin said, returning the atmosphere to its previous, teasing form.
"But yeah," Xephos continued as though he hadn't heard, "What else is different?"
Sjin flushed slightly before saying, "My teeth."
"Your teeth are different?" Xephos frowned, peering at Sjin's mouth.
As his blue eyes searched for any difference, he noticed the ends that had once looked flat taking on a sharper look. After a moment, they looked like sharp animal teeth, making Xephos meet Sjin's eyes in surprise.
"They change shape," Sjin explained with a grin. "Like my eyes change color."
"You just change all over, don't you?" Xephos said with a chuckle. He rolled over on his side, so his back was towards the farmer.
"'All over?'" Sjin raised one eyebrow. "Was that what I thought it was?"
"Not unless you took it that way," Xephos said, and Sjin could hear the smirk in his voice.
"That's it," Sjin said. "Get the fuck out of my bed. Now."
Laughing, Xephos sat up and glanced at Sjin, who forced himself up so he wouldn't be below the spaceman.
"'S my bed too, you know," he said with an easy grin.
Sjin leaned up and nipped at Xephos' bottom lip playfully. It was a gesture between the two of them, meaning that Sjin really wanted to hurt Xephos, but it was either too much effort, or he couldn't bring himself to.
Xephos stiffened slightly as he pulled away. He very gently lifted one hand and wiped at the beads of blood forming on his lip.
"You forgot about your teeth," he grumbled good-naturedly.
"Oh, sorry." Sjin blinked in surprise, but his worried expression melted into a teasing smile. "Here, I'll kiss it better."
Without giving Xephos time to protest, he connected their lips. The spaceman's hands slid smoothly up the farmer's back, tangling in his hair. Sjin let his hands wrap around Xephos' neck as he pulled him ever closer, making sure his teeth were flat again.
They overbalanced, and Xephos came crashing down on top of Sjin. He sprawled across the farmer's chest, making no move to get off.
Giggling breathlessly, Sjin pulled him into an awkward hug, their hands entangling as their clumsy fingers fumbled for the other's. Xephos grinned, but his body was limp, and Sjin practically fell asleep just looking at him.
"Night," Xephos mumbled.
Sjin smiled, though it was an effort now - the lethargy seemed to have been imminent.
"Good night," he said softly in reply.
