Every day, Nick waits. The drawings on his arms appear and disappear. Detailed pictures of cities and cats and dragons, with shading and color and all. But through all that, there's never anyone else with the drawings.

Nick sits in the coffee shop, just like every evening, watching the drawings appear as the sun sets. This time, it's a person with cat ears and unruly hair, a soft smile on his face. Nick rolls the sleeves of his jacket down, smudging the stick figure he tried to draw, as his friend Rose sits next to him.

"Heya Nick!" She grins.

Nick smiles back. "Hi, Rose. Want a donut?" He gestures to the five open boxes of donuts.

"Um.. no. How on earth are you still skinny?" Rose sighs, shaking her head. Nick shrugs.

"I dunno, but I always give a box to that art group outside the church. You know, the one with your crush?" He smirks at the end, and Rose flushes.

"O-oh, shut up. It's not like you don't like that Adam kid." She hisses, and Nick nods.

"It's no secret, Rose. Although, I bet he found his soulmate already.."

Just then, an employee approaches the two. "Excuse me, but the store is closing early tonight. You guys will have to head out now." Nick huffs, grabbing the boxes. Rose takes a single donut with a giggle, and the two walk out of the restaurant. As they walk, Rose strikes up the conversation again.

"So Nick, did you hear the art group is starting a tattoo thing? To help soulmates find each other?" She munches on the glazed donut, eyes on the empty sidewalks ahead of them. Nick nods, nearly dropping a box as they turn a corner.

"I might get one, dunno." He shrugs carefully. They cross a street, and Rose looks up at a huge church.

"Well, here we are. You going to give the art group a box of donuts or what?" She smiles, and Nick nods again.

"Maybe I'll give them two, depends on how good this tattoo thing is." He grins as they round the corner, coming in sight of a group of about a dozen people. Each of them seemed excited to see the two, jumping up and crowding around Nick.

"Donuts!"
"Oh sweet, this is a lot!"
"Want a tattoo?"
"Nice drawing."

The last comment was aimed at the smudged stick figure drawn on Nick's arm, which he had almost forgotten about. Caught off guard, he smiled, not responding. "Alright people, one box for today." The group murmured in disapproval, and Nick continued, "Unless you give me a good tattoo." At that statement, a short boy with light brown hair and a long sleeved galaxy shirt steps up.

"Alright, I'll give you a tattoo." He crosses his arms, a small smirk on his face. Nick nods as if in agreement, taking off his jacket.

"Let's see how good at this you are, Adam." Nick sits on the ground, and Adam takes his equipment and begins. Intricate designs with codes and symbols intertwined are spread all down Nick's left arm, no color. Rose seems impressed, handing a girl with a pink sweatshirt another box of donuts. As Nick looks at the tattoo, he notices something under Adam's sleeve. "Hey, what's that?" He points at it.

"What's what...?" Adam questions, pulling up his sleeve to reveal the exact same design as he drew on Nick's arm. Nick puts his right hand to his mouth in shock, while Adam merely glances at the drawings. "Well that's convenient, isn't it?" He remarks before grabbing Nick's hands and pressing their lips together. Cheering comes from the small group of artists and Rose as Nick pulls away in shock. Adam blinks in confusion, opening his mouth to say something but being cut off by Nick kissing him back. Three words echo in both of their minds: "I love you."
