Backstory: Selene and Michael are the first hybrids to have been created. About a year after the events of Underworld: Evolution, Selene became pregnant with Rosalie. A few years later, Alice came along. With the threat of humans looking to destroy all races of immortals-- immortals, vampires, lycan, hybrids, and even the illusive casters whome they had discovered with Rose's birth--the races formed together to try to regain their numbers. This plan worked for a time. Sometime later, Rose started travelling the world to learn more about her powers which, up til her birth, did not exist in their world. On her travels, she met Charles Dalimar, a rich human who seemed kind. They fell in love and he proposed. However, Rose was not ready and refused him. Despite his initial reactions, he shrugged it off and continued to woo her with gifts and a plan to build a fancy manor befitting of her and her family line. It was shortly after this that Rose started to realize something was strange yet couldn't be sure what. Another day, she woke up in a wedding dress and was told it was her wedding day. She wandered around in a haze and was married to Charles. Right after, her sister came to stay awhile. Things got stranger as she continued to have weird things happen to her and her memories started to fade more and more. One night, she snuck out of the manor built for her and ran into an old friend. It was only afterward that she learned Charles was not human but something far more dangerous. Even worse, he had set his sights on her sister. She returned to the manor and confronted Charles who promised to save her sister but only if she'd save him first. He was actually a ghost and had been dead for years. According to him, he had fallen ill after murdering his first love, Emma Ravenhearst, and his own maid, Rose Somerset. This illness killed him. Now, he wished to return to life with her power and her as his bride for all time. She agreed to the deal but, as soon as he had returned to life, he repaid her by stabbing her sister through the stomach. In retaliation, Rose had (unknowingly to him), poisoned his wedding chalice. Rose set the manor on fire and escaped into the night. Unbeknownst to her, Alice was still alive. She had (mistakenly), taken the chalice meant for Charles and gained some of her sister's powers. This allowed her to escape before the flames got to her. Unfortunately, she also got some of her sister's drugged up memories as well, causing her to catch a form of amnesia. She ran until she collapsed. When she awoke, she was being tested on and sent to the Umbrella Corporation where they tested her for years and made more and more clones, attempting to make essentially another Alice. Meanwhile, Rose left home and went to stay with her friend, Eric Draven. On the eve before his wedding to Shelley, gang members broke in and murdered them (not before doing horrible things to Shelley). Rose got back to late to save them but she got a chunk out of one of them and some information. She spent the next several months preparing herself for a fight. On the night Eric returned as a ghost, the pair teamed up. At the end of their battle, Eric died again and Rose was wounded badly enough that she had trouble healing herself. As the rain pushed down, she ran into the nearest house she could--and ended up meeting someone she didn't know would be so important to her.
