ꕥ Chapter Thirty-Nine
It's been months or so since Mark had started helping Jaemin control himself, it was... Let's say... A long but worth it process.
I know what you're thinking, wouldn't it be also a faster process if they called a therapist or something? Well, they did discussed that beforehand of asking Mark for help.
This is basically what happened:
"Why can't we just contact a therapist or something?" Jaemin complained as he plopped down on the couch beside Haechan.
Renjun rolled his eyes, "because, Jaemin." He emphasized first giving him a look, "Mark is the best option, and atleast he won't contact the police on you." He scoffed.
"That was one–"
"Actually, Jaemin, that was the fourth time you did that." Haechan interrupts the brunet sitting beside him earning a huff from the boy from his annoying corrections.
"Yeah, but that wasn't my fault. The guy was more impatient than I am myself." Jaemin nonetheless defended on his behalf.
Renjun scoffed, "but you still didn't have to beat him up in your wolf form, asshat." He scolded and walks to the kitchen nearby getting himself a glass of water to cool down.
Jisung hummed at the elder's words in agreement, Jaemin notices and can't help but muttered a mock of Renjun's words in a high–pitched voice.
"I heard that!" The fox hybrid yelled with his ears clearly perked up from the annoying sound as his tail was up point in the air while he threatened to throw the glass at Jaemin.
"Well he was going to be me up first anyway! That was pure self defense of mine," Jaemin shrugged.
Mark raised a brow at that, "by negotiating violence?" He sneered.
"I was protecting myself!"
"Well clearly you weren't thinking about it enough and almost suffered a more worse consequence."
"But–"
"You gave him a bruised up face and a scratch mark on his shoulder, you could've asked us for help and file a complaint or be professional about it." Mark sternly stated.
"Anyways, look, Jaemin, Mark is the best and only option for you really." Haechan said trying to be as nice as he could. Don't at him, he was the one that also talked to the police.
Jisung snorts, "yeah, and I suggest you should suck it up and learn. I don't want to see or hear those damn sirens again," he grumbled.
"Well that makes two of us," Haechan mumbled followed by a sigh.
Renjun pursed his lips, "Jaemin, we don't have any other choice that can help you without going through the police, possibly going to jail, get even more in trouble. Just let Mark help."
When Jaemin took a while to answer at his words, Mark clicked his tongue. "Just remember, you're not doing this for you, but for everyone." He stated and stood up.
The other four looks at him as he reached out a hand towards the brunet as the boy stared at it before standing up. "Do it for Jeno." Mark added.
And just by that, Jaemin accepted his hand and shook it. Accepted his fate and accepted his chance. For Jeno and the triplets.
Obviously Jaemin had beaten up his fourth therapist, doctor or whatever help specialist they could find.
It's not entirely his fault, the person is also impatient as him on himself. But not all by the way.
First and second people were nice and all, but Jaemin just couldn't cooperate with them and decided to just end their agreement due to him thinking he's not going far in the process.
However, whilst first and second people tried to reassure him there's a chance and he should be patient, him being Jaemin, decided to punch and yell at said first and second people getting annoyed by their "comforting words".
Third person was terrified of him, it didn't help he was an omega-beta.
Short story about the situation, third person ghosted him for a week until Jaemin realized said third person was actually trying to tell him that they couldn't help, but afraid to speak to him about it.
Meanwhile, last but not the least. Fourth person got annoyed because Jaemin wouldn't cooperate properly due to him stating he's tired with these "helps".
So he stood up abruptly with a scowl. Unfortunately, Jaemin thought they wanted to come at him first or do something, so he punched the guy on the face.
That's where the police entered and let's just say, if it weren't for Haechan and Renjun, the brunet could've went to jail.
And now, here we are. Mark and Jaemin arriving back home from a walk to the forest a few miles away. The same forest Jaemin had took Jeno to.
"Take a break, drink up some water, you did good." Mark smiled and gave a reassuring pat to Jaemin's back as they went out at the backyard.
The brunet poured some water on his glass and downs the drink in a blink of an eye ending it with a relaxed sigh.
He pursed his lips before turning towards Mark, "have I... Gotten far yet?" He asked earning a confused look from the elder. "Like, am I atleast halfway through the process of this?"
Mark hums quite confidently and smiled at him, "let me ask you something first." He said with a finger in motion in the air as a habit of being a teacher at the daycare he works at along with Jeno.
Jaemin raised an eyebrow at him, "well... Go on," he gestures with a free hand while his other was occupied of the stress ball Mark gave him from the first day they've started training.
"Are you still mad at me and Jeno?" Mark asked testing the waters.
The question itself was disturbing to remember the incident, usually Jaemin would've snapped. But weirdly enough, he didn't.
Instead, he sighed deeply and shook his head a while after. "I realized it's not really your fault and... What I should be grateful for is the guy is now arrested and Jeno is okay."
"And I should've realized that sooner," the younger alpha amongst the two said pursing his lips. A sign he's admitting on his own faults.
Mark smiled softly, "hey, it's okay dude." He said resting a hand on Jaemin's shoulder. "Jeno loves you okay?"
"But he's terrified of me."
"He won't be anymore once you both are healed, you guys just needed a little space from each other. A time to... Reflect on things," Mark stated.
With a nod of understanding, Jaemin smiled a little.
The elder was right after all, him and Jeno had been attached 24/7 even before they made it official. Especially by the fact that Jaemin can be over the top just so no one steals his Jeno away from him.
Maybe all they needed was a time away from each other and realized things they should realize before continuing. Before it's all too late.
Jaemin realized that as well, remembering how he had scratched the cat hybrid in his office out of control and till this day, really regrets it.
With the same smile not fading away, Mark stood up and ruffled the younger's hair as he packed up his things before he leaves to check up on Jeno and everyone in his house.
"By the way," Mark paused turning around sending Jaemin a wider grin this time. "You're more than halfway, Na Jaemin."
