Maybe it's just my translation (Holman Christian standard) but at the part where Queen Esther goes to the king to ask him to food and he like "aight" he says he'll give her anything up to quote: "half my kingdom". So if Esther had asked for all the Jews in his kingdom (that can't have taken up a whole half of it anyway) would that have solved the problem, essentially?
