Chapter 5 - Goodbyes

It's been two days since Karna saved Tiasha. She has recovered almost magically. The faintest scars of the bruises are gone. Her Ankle has also healed and is now as good as new. She hasn't gone outside much as everyone feared that the robbers might still be after her. But she was not complaining. She enjoyed Her time with Vrushali and Radha.

Vrushali has become her closest friend within these two days. Radha has succeeded in becoming her second mother. And Karna...

Well, Tiasha doesn't know what to do with these feelings she is experiencing. These are something very new to her. Whenever he is around her heart races, and she waits like a thirsty bird to see him smile. They haven't talked to each other much but still, it feels like she has known him for decades.

Everything feels so normal to her as if she has always been a part of this time. She was never a neurosurgeon from Modern Kolkata. She had been close to these people all this time. she couldn't place it. But it didn't even take her a moment to adjust to this place. She always had trust issues but here it didn't even take her a moment to trust these people. This was unnatural yet, it was familiar. She felt she belonged here at this time, with these people.

Tiasha has opened up a little about herself. She told them that she had no family left. Her parents were dead and she had an elder sister who also died a long time ago. She doesn't have relatives who she can trust. Everyone felt bad for her and Karna's whole family and Vrushali practically took her under their wings. But when they asked her about what happened that night or how did she end up here she couldn't answer. Not like she didn't want to tell them but she didn't know what to say.

They didn't push her though. They thought maybe she was not ready to talk and left the subject alone. She just told them that she was being chased by some robbers.

Tiasha was telling Vrushali a story from her school days and laughing when Radha came in with a worried face.

"What's wrong maa?" Tiasha asked.

-"Putri, someone is outside. He is calling for you, saying that he is your Sakha." Radha said in an anxious tone, "And he seems to be a Rajpurush."

Tiasha and Vrushali both frowned, "I thought you said you didn't know anyone here?"

-"I don't", Tiasha replied, "Maa, did he say anything about who he is?"

Radha shook her head from side to side, "No Putri, he just says he is your Sakha and he wants to meet you."

Tiasha stood up, "Ok maa I will go see what it is."

As she was about to move Vrushali caught her arm, "Don't go Tiasha, what if it's a trap? Maybe those robbers are still after you." Radha nodded in agreement.

Tiasha knew that was not a possibility but she couldn't say it. So instead she said, "Don't worry Vrushali, you two are here, so even if he is, he can't do anything to me."

Tiasha stepped out of the room followed by Vrushali and Radha. The moment she reached the front door a familiar divine smell of Sandel wood and Kadamba enveloped her.

Her eyes met with the figure of a man with ethereal beauty and divine grace. His skin was as deep and enchanting as the midnight sky, his lotus-petal eyes held secrets of the universe, and his smile was as sweet as nectar, bewitching hearts. His face was a canvas of eternal joy and charm, graced by a regal peacock feather crown adorning his head, a golden silk dhoti that swayed gracefully with his every step, and ornate jewellery that adorned his being. An aura of divinity enveloped him, combining cosmic power with playful charm, a beacon of attraction that drew all into the embrace of his celestial presence.

Almost as if in a trance, Tiasha uttered, "Krishna..."

A mischievous smile appeared on his face, "Sakhi, is that what you call me now?"

Radha and Vrushali looked at each other, of course, they knew who Krishna was. Jadupati Dwarkadhish Vasudev Shri Krishna. The one who is considered as the incarnation of lord Vishnu. Why is he here? And he called Tiasha Sakhi. How do they know each other? And why didn't Tiasha tell them anything about him before?

Tiasha was still in a trance she was seeing lord Krishna in front of her eyes right now. Is this some kind of a weird dream?

Krishna looking at each of them, said to Radha, "Mata do you mind if I talk to Sakhi alone for a bit?"

Radha and Vrushali looked at Tiasha worried. She still looks like she is lost in another world. They slowly walked out leaving them alone.

Krishna entered the room and Tiasha followed after him like she had been hypnotised. Krishan sat down on the bed. Tiasha almost enchanted by him collapsed on the floor near his feet. Krishna shook his head and held her shoulders. He sat her beside him and smiled.

Without thinking she uttered, "Why?"

Krishna started laughing, "Out of everything, you ask me, why?"

Hearing him laugh Tiasha came back to her senses. She was about to sit down near his feet again when Krishna caught her, "No, the place of the blessings of Mata Mahakali is not on my feet but next to me. And you are my Sakhi, friends sit together with each other, not on their feet."

Tiasha looked at him bewildered. Krishna smiled and continued, "I know you have a lot of questions but we don't have much time. Will you come with me?"

Tiasha nodded, then asked, "Now?"

-"Yes now." Krishna replied.

-"I need to say goodbye to everyone." Tiasha said a tinge of sorrow evident in her voice.

-"Don't worry the bonds you have formed are eternal, you will meet them again." Krishna assured her.

Tiasha frowned, "What do you mean?"

-"Later Sakhi, now come."

Tiasha followed Krishna outside. Radha and Vrushali were standing right at the door with anxious faces. They were visibly relieved seeing Tiasha back to her normal self.

But Krishna's next words fell on them like thunder, "Mata, I am taking Sakhi with me. Thank you so much for looking after her. You treated her as if she is your own and I don't have words to express my gratitude"

Radha looked at Tiasha. In these two days, she got attached to her so much. She fulfilled her desire to have a daughter but now she is about to leave. If it was anyone else other than Vasudev Shri Krishna she would have never let her daughter leave.

Tears filled the woman's eyes and seeing those Tiasha ran and hugged her tightly.

-"Maa I promise you, I will come back to you as soon as I can and I will explain everything." Radha held her face and said, "Come soon, Putri. Your Radha maa will wait for you."

Tiasha turned to Vrushali. Vrushali hugged her, "Be very careful, although I am still not okay with you leaving, I trust Vasudev." Yes, Vrushali was sceptical about it at first but looking at Krishna, she felt at ease. He is someone who you can trust blindly.

Tiasha suddenly remembered Karna was not there. He had gone for practice and hadn't returned yet.

She turned to Krishna and asked, "Can we wait for a bit?"

Krishna got serious and shook his head, "No Sakhi we can't we have to leave now."

-"But I haven't said bye to Vasusena!" Tiasha argued.

-"Sakhi we need to leave now." Krishna persuade.

Tiasha didn't understand why Krishna was in such a hurry. She looked at Radha with a sad face.

Radha seeing her hesitation insisted, "I will tell him, Putri, he will understand, don't worry about him. He will be fine. You take care of yourself."

Although Radha didn't know how Karna would react, she didn't want to anger Vasudev. Showing his gratitude Krishna smiled at Radha.

Tiasha touched Radha's feet and embraced her and Vrushali one last time. Then she left with Krishna.

Both the women looked at the royal chariot disappearing in the distance with a heavy heart and tear-filled eyes. They waved back at Tiasha when she waved and kept looking behind until they were out of sight. They have grown to care so much about the girl just in these past two days.

When Tiasha couldn't see them anymore she turned around and settled. her mind still stuck at Karna, she didn't even get to say goodbye to him. Couldn't they have just waited for a while until he returned? She didn't even know if she ever gonna meet him again.

An amused smile appeared on Krishna's face. No thoughts could be hidden from him, "Don't worry Sakhi you will see him very soon."
