~Chapter Five: Friend or Foe?~

 !WARNING! :Blood and injury

Soon Tommy opened his eyes to see the bright shine of the sun seeping through the trees letting him know that it was morning. He was relived to know that nothing tried to get him over night. He looked down and saw that the cat he had found last night was still there laying in his lap. It seemed to be waiting for him to wake up. And as soon as it saw that he did it meowed and licked his hand, making him laugh. "Glad to see you stayed with me all night." Tommy smiled. He looked around for a minute before getting up and stretching.

Sleeping with a tree up against his back he had to admit wasn't very comfortable. And he thought maybe walking again might help his back. But then remembered his ankle as the cat rubbed up against it. He winced a little at the touch but decided to ignore it once again and started walking anyways. This time he was hoping he would enjoy it. He could now see his surroundings better and there were no creepy eyes or four legged green creatures following him around. The only thing following him now was a sweet little tuxedo cat.

As he walked around he tried taking in his surroundings, though it wasn't much. Everything looked basically the same, the trees towered over him, grass and dirt laid across the ground, leaves scattered across the grass along with twigs and rocks, a berry bushes that could be spotted every few feet. So really there wasn't anything worth remembering. Not at the moment at least. Walking around mindlessly soon became tiring to the blonde, but once again he ignored the pain he felt and pushed along. The small cat kept meowing at him, almost as if telling him to stop a rest, but he ignored that too. The cat kept going on and on and began to become annoying to Tommy.

"Okay I like that your keeping me company and all but could you maybe not be so annoying!?" Tommy asked, stopping and turning around to look at the cat. It only sat down and looked at him with it's head tilted, as if it wasn't doing anything. Tommy sighed and shook his head, "Is this how Wil and Techno feel when I burst into their room?" he muttered. He shrugged to himself and kept walking along his path. Of course there wasn't a physical path he was following, just one he was mapping out as he went on. Ahead of him he noticed that there was another clearing similar to the one he had found last night, only bigger. Much, much bigger. He ran towards it, going into the wide open space when he felt a tinge of pain in his ankle, making him stop.

"Ow. . ." he said under his breath. He looked up and around, seeing just how big the area really was. "Woah!" he shouted. As far as he had seen this area was more lush then the others parts of the forests he had seen. And from what he could see what was beyond that was as well. The plants looked greener, there were colorful flowers everywhere, and small butterflies were fluttering around. It was beautiful, being cooped up at home for so long Tommy had never seen plants this lush and full of life.

As he was taking in the sight before him he once again heard noises like he did last night. But unlike then it was coming from a certain place. He looked to the left of him and say rustling in a few bushes. "Hello?" he asked cautiously. The rustling stopped as he spoke. "What the hell. . ." stepping closer in the direction he was hearing the noises he reached into his satchel, searching for his pocket knife. "Is someone there? I heard you, just come out now." Tommy said sternly, well, as sternly as he thought possible.

When he heard no response he only grew nervous. He found his pocket knife and held it out in front of him. Cautiously he looked around the area near the bush but nothing was there. "Huh," he mumbled, confused as to what he heard. "If there's nothing here then what did I-" "AHHHHH!" a scream came from behind him. Startled Tommy turned around as fast as he could only to be knocked to the ground. "Ah! Don't hurt me don't hurt me don't hurt me don't hurt me!" Tommy yelled shutting his eyes and covering his face.

Something swung at his cheek and slashed down it quickly, causing Tommy to scream. He covered his cheek, trying to stop the stinging pain. Feeling something press up against his chin he moved his hands and looked up. Above him there was a boy, a brunette boy with a green button-up, sleeves rolled up, what looked like brown military boots, and a backpack. "W-who are you!?" Tommy stuttered, taken aback when he realized what was being held to his chin was a sharp axe. "I could ask you the same question bitch!" the boy yelled. "Hey! If anyone's a bitch here it's you! Your holding an axe up to my chin you fucker!" Tommy shouted back.

The boy scoffed and pressed the axe up to his skin, making him wince. "Stop! Stop it!" Tommy yelled. He grabbed the axe near the handle but that only made the brunette push it further into Tommy's skin. Blood slowly seeped onto the axe's edge and slid down it, dripping onto his shirt. he yelped at the pain and looked up at the boy's face. It was only then that he realized the enormous scar on the right side of his face and the bandages wrapped around his right arm. "Now, you gonna tell me who you are or what?" the boy asked him.

Tommy stared at him in disbelief. "Why would I tell you shit when your trying to kill me!?" he yelled. "Well I assumed so you could live for a bit longer." the boy said, once again pushing the axe deeper. Tommy screamed at the increasing pain. "I'm not telling you shit!" he yelled. "You have a death wish or something?" asked the brunette. Before he could answer a figure appeared behind the brunette.

Whoever it was seemed to be much taller than the boy. They rested a hand on his shoulder, making him look up at them. "Oh! U-uh hi! I wasn't doing anything! Not at all!" The boy said. The figure looked beyond the boy to see what was happening. Seemingly surprised at the scene the figure lowered the hood over they're head, revealing a concerned look on they're face. They rushed over and kneeled down next to Tommy. They slowly dislodged the axe from his skin, causing him to scream once again.

He sat up and tried backing away from the two, "Wait! Your injured! Please let me help you!" the figure shouted worried. Hesitant Tommy slowly approached the figure. They smiled at Tommy and gestured for the brunette to hand him the bag on his back. He sighed and handed it to him. As they searched through the bag Tommy took in his features, noticing just how peculiar they looked. Half of they're face was white while the other half was black, they're eyes were two different colors, green and red. They were wearing a dark blue cloak with a white button-up under it.

The cloak was held together at the front by a strange looking orb that glowed a blueish-green color. The taller noticed his staring and looked back at him. "Are you okay?" They asked, Tommy only nodded. Still holding a smile on they're face they pulled out a cloth and a box of bandages from the bag. Taking the cloth they held it to Tommy's chin to soak up the blood. "Are you crazy!?" They yelled turning back to the brunette behind them, startling him. "Of course I'm not crazy! And why are you helping him!? He might be dangerous." the boy shouted.

"More dangerous than the one who swung an axe at me!?" Tommy shouted. The boy huffed crossing his arms and turning away. The taller sighed and turned back to Tommy, lifting his chin up slightly so they could clean the blood that dripped under his chin. "So, what's your name?" They asked. Tommy stayed quiet for a second, trying to decide whether he should say or not. Ultimately he decided that it would be okay, "Tommy. My name's Tommy." he told. Smiling the taller nodded, "My name's Ranboo, It's nice to meet you Tommy." "And he's a total softy." the brunette interrupted.

"Like I hadn't noticed dip shit." Tommy said sarcastically. He looked back to the one he now knew as Ranboo and sighed, 'At least I know his gender now.' he thought. Even though he thought it should have been obvious, Tommy wasn't really sure what his gender was when he first saw him, though that might have been because he didn't get a clear look at him. He felt a pressure on his face and noticed that Ranboo had put a bandage over the cut on his face, which he had completely forgotten about due to the pain in his chin. "Even though it's not as bad the cut on your cheek is pretty deep. It might scar, and the one under your chin definitely will." Ranboo told him. "It's fine I guess. As long as the pain goes away." Tommy said. Ranboo stood up, handed the bag back to the boy and extended a hand out to Tommy.

"I can get up myself." he huff smacking his hand away. "Sorry. . ." he muttered. Standing up Tommy looked over to the brunette who injured him before, wincing at his ankle. "And what might your name be." Tommy asked sarcastically, raising an eyebrow. "Why should I tell you?" He scoffed. "Hey, be nice you just tried to kill him! The least you could do is tell him your name." Ranboo said. The boy sighed, "You can call me Tubbo." The brunette, now known as Tubbo, said.

He looked down at Tommy's ankle then back up at his face. "Your ankle broke or something?" he asked. "I dunno, I jump from a ladder yesterday and it's been hurting ever since. I've just been ignoring it though, it can't be that bad." Tommy said shrugging. Tubbo and Ranboo looked at each other with almost bewildered looks on their faces, then turned back to the blonde. "You shouldn't ignore an injury like that you know." Ranboo told him. "I'm sure it's fine." Tommy scoffed. "Well, nice meeting you I guess. See ya!" Tubbo rushed and turned around, swinging his axe over his shoulder and walking away.

Tommy waved, not really caring that he was leaving. "Y'know, you seem to be alone out here. You have anyone with you?" Ranboo asked him. "Yeah I have this little cat I found last night that's been following me around." Tommy said. Ranboo raised an eyebrow, "What cat?" he asked. Tommy looked around and found that the cat wasn't anywhere. "I swear there was a cat following me a little bit ago!" Tommy shouted, still looking around for it. "Well, if you want, you can come with us." Ranboo offered.

"What!?" Tubbo shouted from behind them, turning back around. "Oh come on Tubbo! He's all alone, at least we have each other! He doesn't have anybody!" Ranboo said, trying to convince Tubbo. "You really want to bring a stranger with us!?" "We were strangers to each other when we met! How is this any different?" Ranboo asked. "I- dammit, fine!" Tubbo yelled. A smile spread across Ranboo's face. "So Tommy, what do you say? Wanna come with us? I'm sure it'd be better than being out here alone." he said. Tommy gave it a thought, being alone out in a forest that seemed never ending was pretty scary to think about.

He always had Wilbur and Techno with him, so he had never been alone this long, and having some company did seem nice. Even though Tubbo tried to kill him, Ranboo seemed like he was able to keep him from doing anything crazy. "Yeah, I think I'd like that." Tommy said, making Ranboo's smile grow wider. He grabbed hold of Tommy's had and rushed off in the direction Tubbo went. He might not have like the two much, or even known them at all, but he'd rather be with two strangers than be all alone. Which might not have been the best choice on his part. But even so he didn't care. Tubbo rolled his eyes at them and turned back to the direction he was walking in, making Ranboo laugh. He turned to Tommy, who was walking beside him and put a hand on his shoulder. "Your safe with us Tommy." he told him. Tommy huffed and side eyed him. "Thanks I guess. It's nice having someone to talk to out here."
