The Cure

Error rose a brow, not understanding, but sat down anyway. Coal kept wailing and thrashing around. “tALk AboUT WhAt? Did I Do SOmeThinG WronG?” he was confused. He let Coal go and set him onto the bed. The infant kept wailing.

“Well. . . Now that I am back, I thought we could have a talk. A father-son talk.” I looked at Error and waited for his reaction.

Error flinched. He may call Gaster ‘dad’ but he still has fears from the past just like his mother. “....i HoPe YoU DonT MEAn ‘SoN-AbusiVe’ TalK….” he looked down. Coal kept wailing until his throat and mouth began to bleed.

“I don’t. I want to first apologize for any and all torture and abuse I put you through during my. . . let’s call it ‘trance’. Also, I want you to know that I am proud of you, and you have done excellent in your work thus far. Thirdly, I wish that I can spend more time with my family, even after what I have done, and I seek forgiveness. Please, have mercy, and let us be a family again.” I then got on one knee, then the other, and bowed my head to Error, ready for whatever was next.

Error seemed to blackout when Gaster said ‘I am proud of you’

Gaster was lifted back up by a skeleton with white bones and Errors eyes. “Hey dad” the skeleton smiled, nuzzling Gaster. “It's me, Emora. Your son” Error somehow changed back to his normal non-glitch form.

“E-Emora?... How can this be?...I. . .” I couldn’t speak. I was, to say the least, speechless. A glitch had not been cured by anything I had though, but instead, had cured himself. . . Through love. I realized. I now knew how to destroy the gene of glitches, I knew how to save all of them from the pain it took to live through, from the stares and glares and hatred they got. I could save my fiance. I saved my son. And I was too dumbfounded to say anything.

Error, now Emora again, smiled.

Now that Error was no longer a glitch it was more obvious that Error was Gasters son. He had Gasters white bones and slight build, though his face a bit rounder than Gasters thanks to his mother.

“My son. . . You have. . . how did you. . . I-I can’t believe it. You cured yourself! You’re amazing! I-I. . . oh. Wait. Does this mean. Am I dead for real? I thought there was no way to cure a glitch, I tried for decades and it never worked. How did you do it. . .” I couldn’t think straight, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, but I knew I wasn't dead. I had just been brought back, for heaven's sake!

Emora laughed. “I don’t know...when you said you were proud of me my soul was filled with love, the good kind.” Emora shrugged, hugging his father tightly. “My soul swelled with love after you said that so...I guess thats what changed me, I noticed my soul began to glow a bit and poof, I wasn’t a glitch anymore but” he closed his eyes for a moment and was turned back into Error. “I Can SwiTch To ThIs ForM And Back, And iT Doesn'T HuRT!” he beamed, shifting back to Emora.

“So, you can change? How does that work?” I was curious about how this could happen, and I started to get an idea. Me and Error, or Emora, could harness this power, and then cure Vediovous, and then revive Satan, and then cure him, and then we could all storm Fate’s castle, and get rid of the evil plaguing the underground. After that, we can spread the cure, and we can all live together, in peace. As a family. “Emora. . . we need to get your mom.”

Emora shrugged. “I have no clue...I think it has something to do with the glitch DNA still in my soul….” he hummed before shrugging. “I don’t think mom would like it…” he admitted, looking away.

Coal just kept fucking wailing, because nobody cares about the damn dying infant.

“Son. . . I have no idea how to take care of a kid. . .” I said, looking at Coal as he cried on the bed.

Emora glared at Gaster before he gently scooped up Coal into his arms and cradled him. “Well I’ll have to have mom teach you then” he looked down at Coal who was still crying. “We have to get mom. I only know how to comfort babies and that’s it, I don’t know how to do stuff like this”

Vediovous sat up on Dreams bed, frowning. He could sense that something within Errors soul had changed. “I reAlLy ThInK I ShoULd Go ChecK On GasTeR ANd EmoRa” he mumbled, beginning to get out of the bed.

My dear, I really think you should wait. I’m sure that there fine.” Dream tried to gently hold Vediovous in place.

Vediovous frowned deeper, trying to gently tug out of Dreams hold. “nO No...i NeEd to CHeCk on tHeM...i HavE A BAd FeEliNg…

I’m sure it will be fine, dear, just stay here. You still need to calm down” Dream was now urgently trying to make Vediovous stay in place.

Vediovous kept trying to escape from Dreams hold. “I Am CalM Now” he smiled at Dream. “I ThAnK YoU so mUch For CalMiNg Me DoWn ANd Giving ME AffectIon BuT I NeEd To Go ChecK on My Son….s..” he now began to panic. “COaL!? OH mY GoD i ForgOT AboUt My Own BabY!” he yanked out of Dreams hold and rushed down the hall, searching for his family.

I ran out to meet Vediovous as he ran down the hall. “It’s ok, my love, Coal is fine. Emora was there, it’s all ok now.” I stared into Vediovous’s eyes, hoping he was alright.

Vediovous took a few deep breaths, shakily holding onto Gasters arms, before he frowned. “WaiT A mInuTe….i neVeR ToLd YoU EMora’S ReaL NaMe…” he looked up at Gaster, narrowing his eyes in suspicion.

“He did. Come, I’ll show you a real reason to be happy for once.” I handed out my hand for Vediovous to grab and led him to the bedroom.

Vediovous kept his eyes narrowed. He was very suspicious until he saw Error in his true form.

Before Emora could say anything Vediovous had crashed and fell to the floor.

“Vediovous!” I yelled. I didn’t know this would happen, and I was deeply worried.

---

Meanwhile, Dream was seething. He knew he couldn’t keep Vediovous back without exposing himself, but now he knew that Gaster would be a huge problem.

---

Vediovous Had shot up about 3 minutes later, acting like nothing had happened. He rushed over to Emora and cupped his cheeks, looking into his eyes. “My BabY! My BabY is ThaT TruLy YoU?” he began to cry in happiness as he pressed Emora and Coal close.

Emora chuckled a bit, nuzzling close to his mother. He honestly felt reborn.

Meanwhile, I just leaned against the wall, watching the joy unfold. I then sighed. “Told you.” I muttered under my breath.

Vediovous looked over at Gaster and pulled him into a kiss, joyful tears still streaming down his cheeks.

I smiled softly, wrapping my arms around my fiance and my sons. We were finally a family again.
