Chapter Ten
Breezepaw awoke with a start, gasping for breath. "Fallenpaw?" She croaked, glancing around for the tom. It was just a dream... I'm not alone... She reminded herself, frantically searching the small den for any sign of life. Breezepaw felt twitching underneath her paws and looked down. She had been sprawled out beside Fallenpaw and had ended up using him as a nest! The spotted tom's blue eyes opened and Breezepaw looked away.
"Sorry, you can go back to sleep, it was just a nightmare." Breezepaw assured him quickly. Fallenpaw shuffled around until he could look at Breezepaw and then gave a groggy smile.
"You can tell me, Breezepaw. I'm not going to judge you." The little she-cat sniffed, catching the smells of her littermates and friends. She breathed out, pushing the dream of the dark grey she-cat telling her to "join us or die alone" out of her mind.
"I just woke up in a dark clearing alone." Breezepaw lied, glad it was too dark for Fallenpaw to see the guilt in her eyes.
"Okay." Fallenpaw replied. "Here, I'll move over and you can go back to sleep. I'll be here if you have another nightmare." Breezepaw shuffled closer to Fallenpaw until she was pressed against his side. She felt his tail curl around her in a protective way before she let herself go back to sleep.

"Breezepaw! Back again?" Breezepaw's eyes shot open. She was there again!
"Go away! I have Fallenpaw! I'll never be alone." She shouted. The she-cat's spine-fur rippled as she tensed.
"Oh, that scrawny mouse? He'd be lucky to get medicine cat apprentice!" She purred wildly. Breezepaw's eyes narrowed as her lips pulled back into a snarl.
"He'll be a perfectly fine warrior! So will I- without joining whatever you want me to!" Breezepaw snapped. The she-cat sprang at her, claws flashing. Breezepaw squeaked as she pinned her easily. After scrabbling for a few minutes, the she-cat's claws were at her throat.
"Join us, Breezepaw." She whispered menacingly. Breezepaw shook her head.
"Never." She growled. The grey she-cat lightly ran a claw along Breezepaw's throat.
"Join us, Breezepaw." She repeated, eyes flashing with malice.
"F-fine." Breezepaw croaked, fear gripping at her belly with icy claws. The she-cat got up, flashing an evil smile.
"Good. I'm Aspenfeather, your new mentor." She meowed. Breezepaw stood up, trembling. Who is Aspenfeather? I thought Silvergaze was my mentor...
"I'd like to introduce you to your new best friend, Frostpaw." A white she-cat with silver toes and blue eyes padded up behind a tall black tom. She looked just as scared as Breezepaw. "She is from NightClan, and her mentor is Ravenfoot." The tom flashed her a smile and the pale colored apprentice shot backwards.
Don't come near me, Ravenfoot! She internally wailed.
"This will be your future mate, Crowpaw. His mentor is Sootflower." Aspenfeather meowed as a dark grey tabby tom and a pure white she-cat trotted over. Breezepaw gasped in anger.
"No!" She shouted at Sootflower. She knew this she-cat! How did she die?
"I refuse to be your mate!" She yowled at Crowpaw. He looked hurt and backed up.
"I'm not being mates with that JungleClan scum! I'll find my own she-cat in DesertClan." Crowpaw snapped back. Breezepaw yelped as Frostpaw slashed at her. Ravenfoot was snickering and Aspenfeather looked rather angry.
"Never take your eyes off of your enemy." Ravenfoot rumbled. Aspenfeather sneered at Breezepaw before trotting over to snap at Frostpaw. Breezepaw cringed as she watched the scene unfold.
A cry of horror escaped her as she watched Frostpaw and Aspenfeather begin to fight. "Stop! Stop it, Aspenfeather!" Breezepaw wailed, but it was too late. Frostpaw lay, crumpled in a mess of white fur and crimson blood. Breezepaw shrunk back, tensing up. The sky around her swirled with green-grey mist and the dirt beneath her paws became marshy. The black sky housed no stars and the marshy earth was red. Oh StarClan, what have I agreed to? This is the Dark Forest!

Her eyes shot open as paws pummeled her side. "Breezepaw, dear StarClan, wake up! Please!" Fallenpaw's voice shook her thoughts and she looked up at him. His eyes were watery and she looked down at herself. She had scratches everywhere, even close to her neck. She burried her muzzle into Fallenpaw's shoulder, feeling chilled to the bone. She curled her tail as she glanced at the tom before looking down at her paws.
"I think we should leave. Now."

"Frogpaw, how do we get back?" Sorrelpaw grumbled from beside Breezepaw. The she-cat pressed up to Fallenpaw, shivering.
You can't escape us, Breezepaw. We can hunt you down in your dreams until your heart is as black as our souls.
Aspenfeather's voice echoed in her mind. She felt a worried chill creep up her spine and a coldness seeped into her pelt. She suddenly felt isolated. Soon, the feeling passed and she found Fallenpaw's sky blue eyes staring into her own.
"Breezepaw, what's wrong?" He asked, his eyes filled with a deep worry.
"I'm just worried about how we're going to get back to JungleClan," she lied again. She hated this, but she couldn't tell Fallenpaw- she didn't want him to worry about her. It wasn't fair to him. A soft patter of paws on the grass and Breezepaw was tackled by three little kits. She squeaked as black paws covered her eyes.
"Shadowkit, Firekit, Glowkit, get off her!" Tigereye's yowl startled Breezepaw. Lionclaw limped behind his mate while Fallenpaw helped shoo the kits back to their mother.
"We came to give a farewell." Tigereye mewed calmly, straightening up. Glowkit and Firekit did the same, but Shadowkit gave a tiny growl and made a fearsome face. Breezepaw chuckled to herself, watching Shadowkit pounce around. Eventually Lionclaw nudged him with a paw.
"Goodbye, kits. Tigereye and Lionclaw, best luck to you." Breezepaw was the first to speak. Fallenpaw and the rest nodded along with her before they turned to go.
"Good luck on your journey home, you lot." Tigereye called after them, her tail swishing around her paws.
Fallenpaw and Breezepaw started trotting along first, at the head of the group. With a long sigh, they started off.
"Ready for another bunch of moons spent walking?" Sorrelpaw piped up.

A/N
YAYYYYY.... Finally the BreezeXFallen ship is actually developing over here.
Also, this book's most likely going to
end in the next few chapters because, to be honest, this isn't my best writing. I'm hoping to make a sequel that better showcases my skills though.
AND, the group has actually been travelling for a LONG TIME, I just didn't make it seem like it because that would be boring to read.
So some stuff happened this chapter as you can tell. Hopefully I'll have the next chapter up soon but until then I hope you enjoy this chapter.
